Ed Lewis and The Great Muta have asked for their release from Great North Wrestling, and it has been granted, we wish them well......filling those 2 vacancies until Jan. 1st with the option of contract extension are the following wrestlers.

From Dodge City Kansas Sputnik Monroe, and from Seoul Korea Kim Duk....we wish them the best of luck here in Great North Wrestling. ...

also.....Great North Wrestling star "Double A" Arn Anderson was injured in a non-wrestling accident and will be sidelined indefinitely.....GNW has paid off the remainder of his current contract (thru Dec. 31st, 2023). We wish him a speedy recovery and perhaps we will see him in the future. In his place GREAT NORTH WRESTLING is happy to announce the signing of Mid-South Wrestling superstar JERRY THE KING LAWLER!

All three of the "new arrivals" will be making their debuts in the next week or so........

Here are the results from SAGINAW!

Dog of War member Sgt. Craig Pittman wins one for the good guys, as he defeats Col. Debeers in front of the raucous Saginaw crowd! It was no easy feat, as the dastardly South African was on his "A" game, but Pittman was able to survive the Colonel's brutal assault....and pins Debeers after a JUMPING POWERSLAM!! Time: (8:22).

Manny Fernandez's recent win streak came to an abrupt halt tonight in Saginaw. The Dirty White Boy battled the "Raging Bull" fist to fist and move for move, in a real enjoyable slugfest! DWB uses his BUCKSNORT BLASTER to get the eventual 1,2,3. Time: (9:33).

Ray Stevens and Austin Idol, lit up the Dow Center Arena in a legendary contest. THIS one was back and forth, nip and tuck....and DOWN AND DIRTY! The fight carried on outside of the ring nearly as much as it did inside of it. Idol (3 tokens) try as he might, just couldn't get The Crippler to submit to his LAS VEGAS LEGLOCK. Stevens (4 tokens), used a timely BOMBS AWAY to get the pin and pull out a hard earned victory! Time: (12:42).

********INTERMISSION********

BASTIEN and LYONS get dog-bit in Saginaw! The Moondogs (Rex/Spot) imposed their will on THE FLYING REDHEADS....leaving no doubt who was the better team tonight! Bastien/Lyons did have their chances at victory, but timely pin saves kept the Moondogs in this one. During a torrid "off the ropes" barrage by Lyons against SPOT....Rex cracks THE BONE across the back of Billy's head (unseen by the ref)...and the Moondogs get the duke! Afterwards a hopping mad Red Bastien chases Rex and Spot out of the ring, before tending to his fallen partner. Time: (10:17).

**GNW WORLD TITLE SHOT MATCH**
TOP 10 contenders Baron Von Raschke and Diamond Dallas Page collided in a ring WAR for a shot at the GNW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. A classic matchup of devastating finishers THE BRAIN CLAW and THE DIAMOND CUTTER. These two men went at it like honey badgers on a Hive! The Baron and DDP at one point nearly get counted out warring outside the ring on the floor (Raschke opens up Page's head on the ringpost). Back in the ring Page was finally able to catch The Baron with his DIAMOND CUTTER, and that was all she wrote!
Time: (15:32).

***GNW INTER-STATE CHAMPIONSHIP***
In his 4th defense since winning the strap, Rocky Johnson was in a clean, competitive "wrestling" match! His opponent was "The World's Most Scientific Wrestler", Wilbur Snyder! It was a symphony of wrestling, moves and holds worthy of the standing ovation it received from the roaring crowd in The Dow Center! A one point in this epic match, Johnson used his FLYING CROSSBODY BLOCK off the top turnbuckle, but Snyder was able to kick out just in time! In the end the match and The Inter-State Championship went to Snyder as a prolonged ABDOMINAL STRETCH made Rocky begrudgingly submit! Time: (25:23).

A good time was had by all, for a great cause Sunday night in Portland! Great North Wrestling teamed up with THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT (Pacific NW chapter)....for an awesome night of wrestling action!!! Thank you to the great fans of Portland for making it a HUGE SUCCESS!!!

Pepper Gomez was victorious in our opening match against the surly Englishman Lord Alfred Hayes! Hayes was his devious self, and pressed the limits of the rules the entire match! After nearly being pinned several times, Pepper got hot! He battled his way back, finally pinning Hayes after a MEXICAN LEAP.
Time: (8:18).

Fit Finlay continues to impress the competition here in Great North Wrestling, as he gets past Tiger Conway Jr. Tiger didn't go down easy, but that is how Finlay prefers it....he uses a combination of suplexes, and a SHORT-ARM CLOTHESLINE to get the win. Time: (8:37).

The Taylors clashed with the former GNW Tag-Team champions The Russians, for the second consecutive time....with the same results.....a disqualification victory ! Ivan and Nikita just can't seem to figure TUGBOAT out, and after leaving Chaz in a heap on the floor, get disqualified for using the CHAIN on a rampaging TUGBOAT, the only thing that was able to slow the big man down! Time: (7:23).

Ken Patera and Hercules Ayala electrified the crowd in a display of raw strength, in their match tonight in Portland! Both of these "bruisers" showed why they are two of the most powerful men in Great North Wrestling. Patera (3 tokens) nearly broke Ayala (2 tokens) in half with a BACKBREAKER, but Herc refused to yield. Ayala turns the tide and begins to work Ken's legs. Hercules then used his FIGURE FOUR to secure the win by submission.
Time: (10:46).

**********INTERMISSION**********

After the break, the sold-out crowd witnessed a potential "MATCH OF THE YEAR" candidate between John Tolos and Antonino Rocca! This was a violence (Tolos) vs finesse (Rocca) classic. Both men left it all in the ring, and used everything in their vast arsenals, but neither man could get the "W". After 30 minutes of non-stop action this one ends in a DRAW, both men still on their feet at the bell.
30 MINUTE TIME-LIMIT DRAW. (30:00)

Fortunately for Jimmy Valiant, King Kong Mosca WAS unhinged tonight in the Kliever Armory. Because that was the only reason he won tonight. Mosca was ruthless and nasty, and dominated the "Man from NYC". Inside the ring he brutalized Valiant...outside the ring he made Jimmy BLEED! ....finally after refusing to stop biting The Boogie Woogie Man, KING KONG is DISQUALIFIED!! Time: (9:15).

THE DOGS OF WAR (SLAUGHTER/KIRCHNER/ROSS) fought with honor tonight as the crowd cheered them on to victory! Their opponents (Adonis/Murdoch/Muraco) tried everything they could but the D.o.W seemed destined to win tonight at The Kliever National Guard Armory! Ross was nearly pinned, Kirchner was nearly pinned....and Slaughter was getting double and triple-teamed, but these warriors never fell in defeat. They scratched and clawed all the way back from the brink, and seized the victory. With Kirchner engaging Muraco, and Ross trying his best to hold Murdoch at bay...the "legal" men Slaughter and Adonis were going toe to toe. AFTER a heavy right hand staggers Adrian, THE SARGE unleashes a SLAUGHTER CANNON and that was that! THE DOGS OF WAR ARE YOUR MAIN-EVENT WINNERS! Time: (15:41).

Another great night of wrestling in Williston, here are the results!!!!

Cowboy Bob Ellis defeats the debuting Kim Duk tonight in The Raymond Center! The big Korean was a tough customer, but the big cowboy gets the duke. Bob finishes the match using his trusty BULLDOG HEADLOCK.
Time: (8:37).

Sputnik Monroe also made his GNW debut tonight in Williston, but he too failed to get the victory. Standing in his way was the big, tough Bobby Duncum (Sr.)! They both were physical and this one was a slobber-knocker! In the end it was Duncum (3 fatigue) and his devastating HANGMAN'S NECKBREAKER that gets him the 1,2,3 over Monroe (2 tokens). Time: (8:41).

Former GNW WORLD Tag-Team champions Bad News Allen and Brickhouse Brown (aka, The B&B Destruction Co. ), got back in the winner's circle by defeating the team of Brad Armstrong and Scott Casey! The youngsters tested the former champs early on, B&B were not to be denied this night. After isolating Brad for a healthy portion of the match, Brickhouse pins him after a vicious double-team beatdown, with a FLYING BODY PRESS! Time: (10:26).

********INTERMISSION********

In an entertaining match-up, The Russian Bear, Ivan Koloff spoils Jerry the King Lawler's, evening with his nephew Nikita's help of course. After a pretty dominant showing, Lawler fell victim to outside interference by Nikita (no Dq). He tripped Jerry up, and Ivan uses a poweslam plus a falling knee drop....and the deed was done.
Time: (9:12).

In another intense and hard fought confrontation, Curt Hennig surprised the "Golden Greek" tonight in the rowdy Raymond Center! John Tolos used his outside brawling game to perfection, and seemed to have Curt in big trouble. BUT the resilient and resourceful HENNIG, used a split-second small-package counter for the 3-count and the win. Incensed, Tolos then bum-rushed the celebrating Hennig, and left the young man laying in a heap in the ring. Time: (14:39).

**GNW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH**
Stan Hansen, the current GNW WORLD CHAMPION, barely escapes the clutches of Samoa Joe tonight in Williston! Stan in his second defense of the strap, sorely underestimated his large and powerful challenger! Samoa Joe took him to task, and Stan Hansen was unable to figure things out. The crowd was stunned as Joe tossed the BAD MAN FROM BORGER, to and fro, inside and outside of the ring. Hansen (3 fatigue) takes the fight outside ( for the third time), and gets disqualified (retaining the belt) for busting Joe open with repeated shots with his COWBELL! The champ grabbed his title and scurried out of the arena, before Joe could get back on his feet. THE WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION, SAMOA JOE!. (Hansen retains the belt).
Time: (16:46).

Brian Sager: SAMOA JOE came pretty darn close tonight, I'm sure the competition committee will be giving that young man another chance, real soon!
