It's the first Uncharted Territory of 2022! stu was without power, so Chad Olson, TDalton, and Cory are joined once again by Club Galactica founder Mark Ashby! The team discusses the bonus Super Special #1, put out in May/June 1989, as well as the July '89 regular issue of the Super Report! Hear about Mark's first time meeting Tom and check out some great fan artwork, including drawings by "Emperor Norton" (Mark T)! You can read along with us through the links in the podcast notes. Find out what the videos below have to do with this episode! Uncharted Territory: Episode 63

Like I've said before, I look at the video teasers and think "WTF does that have to do with the show?", so I have to listen and remember!

LOl, thats the best compliment I see on the Cornette videos when people say "what in the world is this picture"...and makes them watch the video and they go "oohhhhh I get it!!! Love it!"

LOl, thats the best compliment I see on the Cornette videos when people say "what in the world is this picture"...and makes them watch the video and they go "oohhhhh I get it!!! Love it!" Typically, when we record, I take notes of video ideas to include in the DB announcement. Sometimes, before I start editing, I look at the list and think, "What I was thinking?" I don't think it's happened yet where I listen and edit an episode and totally forget what a note was about that I had written.

Iām getting ready to listen, but I hope Physical is making fun of Dick the Bruiser using it as a theme song

That has certainly happened to me before. Sometimes I know the subject, but have no idea what Corny line influenced the picture you drew.

Listening now and strolling down memory lane. I'd forgotten those cool Boyce drawings. AS far as mine, keep in mind folks, when I drew those things I was just 13 years old. Also, about that Brute drawing: I needed to credit "after Todd McFarlane" on that Brute drawing because it was inspired by a McFarlane Hulk cover. It was a great idea, sure. Just not entirely mine!
EDIT: As I continue to listen, about that comic book we WANTED to do: Did we mention we were like 13 and 15-16 respectively at the time? Well I don't think we realized what it took to make an entire comic happen. I drew a few pages.....then it was like "hey, summer is over and school is coming and there's no way this is happening for either of us". So we had to awkwardly backtrack out of that. A real adult professional named Ed Davis DID do that COTG comic a decade later. So go find a copy of that if you can. Because it's a real rarity.

Great job as always gentlemen! I love strolling down memory lane. I think I joined Club Galactica in 1990.
