I have been playing on and off for about the same amount of years. As a teen I saw the ad in PWI or one of the other wrestling mags of the time and kept debating if I should order it. One of the best decisions in my life. |

- chapter seven - Two weeks. My little stunt cost me a two week suspension. I might be the first wrestler to be suspended without wrestling a match. The meeting with Sonny Rocket went great.
"You think that was cute don't you? Trying to "Launch" yourself to the big time by getting yourself over? This is MY SHOW!"
Rocket was fuming pacing back and forth. I sat in the chair I was told to sit in. He was uncomfortable, I could tell. I don't know if it was because of what I did or the fact he was realizing he couldn't fire me. Maybe I should be looking into him as a suspect. He's seemed to have gained a lot out of all of this. Manages a star who is meant to be the new top hero, also number one contender to the title of the fed he's Commissioner of. He competes too, getting Blue Chip out of the way could only be positive for him. My train of thought is interrupted by Rocket slamming his hands on his desk.
"Are you paying attention?" he shouts indignantly.
Another office, another Commissioner yelling at me. Say hello to the new boss, same as the old boss.
"I hear you loud and clear. I'll see you in two weeks. Just know this investigation isn't going anywhere and neither am I. Just know that with this two weeks, I'll be checking into you Mr. Rocket." |

Maffei II, The Launching Pad
An On Sight recap is shown in The Launching Pad ending with Pardon winning the FTR title. No mention of Quest in the recap.
After the package we see new FTR champion Pardon sitting on a table in the locker room, hood up, watching Moonlight warm up.
Pardon - You sure about this?
Moonlight - Absolutely. When I beat Crossbones tonight he'll pull up anchor and sail out of FTR forever!
SWERVE vs. VACANT
A vicious battle "ends" after Swerve hits two consecutive TITAN DROP'S for the win.
Mayham storms the ring complaining about Faller using illegal tactics.
Mayham - That log is a foreign object! I should have won by disqualification! I want a decision reversal!
The tag champions interrupt making their way into the ring.
King Tux - You're an embarrassment to Animen everywhere! I can't believe I was actually your partner!
Words are exchanged until King Tux challenges Mayham to a match on the spot!
MAYHAM vs. KING TUX
Incredibly, Mayham gets the count out victory. In a back-and-forth battle, Mayham hits an elbow drop from the ring apron onto Tux on the floor. Tux is slow to get up but does with enough time to beat the count. Unfortunately, he isn't able too! The ref counts to ten as Tux looks like he's stuck in tar! He bends down and grabs Chameleon who was holding his legs from under the ring transparent! Adding insult to injury, Mayham hits a baseball slide leveling Tux then leaves with Chameleon.
Sonny Rocket leaves his office to join Mad Maxus for their match. He doesn't get far because Capt. Crossbones is waiting by his door. He demands Pardon be banned from the ring for his match tonight.
Capt. Crossbones - It's only fair, Commissioner. Let's call it a fear for my safety.
Sonny Rocket - That's fair. If Pardon comes to ringside, it's an automatic disqualification. Now if you'll excuse me, I must be going. Rocket walks off and Crossbones grins.
Capt. Crossbones (shouting) - I won't be held accountable for what happens if he disobeys.
Astarte is seen giving instructions to the FTR crew about the set for his "fireside chat" later tonight.
MAD MAXUS vs. EUGENIC'S PROJECT
A chaotic match with lots of interference from both sides. Uranus, the Kroll scientists and Sonny Rocket all get involved with the Rocket Man getting revenge. Mass makes the save after a pin attempt on Crust leading to a four-man brawl. Rocket took this opportunity to climb in the ring and hit Crust with a low blow (kick from behind). Axe and T.A hit MAXUS ATTACK US and get the win.
Astarte sits in a chair by a prop fireplace. A portrait of him and his father sits above the mantle. He prepares for his interview about being number one contender when Vacant and Swerve come brawling through the set. Astarte isn't able to react in time and gets knocked over by a flying Swerve courtesy of Vacant! FTR security rush in separating everyone, Astarte's interviewed canceled in the chaos.
CAPT. CROSSBONES vs. MOONLIGHT
Crossbones beats Moonlight bloody finally pinning her after BLACK SAILS.
Immediately Pardon tears out of the back and the lights go dark. When they come back a cage surrounds the ring and Crossbones holds Moonlight's bloody head against the cage inches away from Pardon's face.
"Come on, Pardon! Save her! Save yer Bonnie Lass!" Crossbones shouts mocking his pirate voice. "Give me a rematch next week, in a cage, and I let her go!"
Pardon agrees and the lights go dark again. When they come back Crossbones and the cage are gone, leaving only a bloody unconscious Moonlight behind.

With so many names having moved on still nice to see FTR running for people. Nice win by Crossbones. Yeah the turn over rate for FTR is pretty crazy but that is one of the cool things about it. I'd be fine if that trend continued. Guys come through but don't really hang out too long, maybe some come back for a year or two. It would be different. Thanks for checking things out! |

- chapter eight -
I had moved Sonny Rocket to the middle of my suspect board, until the last Elevation that is. My stomach turned watching Crossbones and Moonlight. "If he could do that on galactic holovision, what could he do when he thinks no one is watching" I say to myself. "He wouldn't be the first murderous wrestler from Brymstone." Blue Chip had been a thorn in his side since he arrived to FTR, both men having numerous battles with each other.
Rocket is still in my sights. I've talked to people that say Sonny Rocket was envious, maybe even jealous of Blue Chip and the praise he would receive from his father.
"You could see it bothered him." said one person under cover of anonymity. "Johnny would fawn over Chip telling him he'll be a main eventer one day and how he'd have made a great Rocket Man. It would drive Sonny crazy."
Couple that with the fact Astarte is obsessed with being the top hero in FTR, it could
drive him to the brink of no return. I rearrange the board to have them two front and center when there's a knock at the door. I open it and I'm stunned, completely speechless.
"So let's see what you got so far, shall we?" He says as he walks into my office and looks at the board. Finally I'm able to speak.
"You? You're the one who's been helping me? You?"
"That's right, me. Vigilante." |

Sonny Rocket's office.
Astarte fumes as he paces back and forth.
Astarte - He gave him a rematch! And, you let him! I'm the number one contender, that should be me out there tonight!
Sonny Rocket - It will be you, I'm planning another special where you will be the main event! It's going to work out, trust me.
Astarte - I'm the hero! I'm the face! A champion they can be proud of! But here they are begging for blood with those Neanderthals! Cheering for them! Ingrates!
Sonny Rocket - They will cheer for you, don't worry. This is good for us. We can decide who you face if we want to.
Astarte - How so?
Sonny Rocket - The Captain has come forth with a unique twist in the cage match. I can add those stipulations to the match. No doubt you'll get cheered against Crossbones. You've also beaten him before...
Astarte - Pardon will be blindsided, most likely wouldn't win. I could stand up for him, say "it's a travesty of justice!" Maybe that disgusting cult would back me... It's dishonest though...
Sonny Rocket - I'm just saying it's an option...think it over.

Maffei II, The Launching Pad
CEPHALOPODIS vs. CHAMELEON
Time Limit Draw.
Cephalopodis refused to attack Chameleon throughout the match only hitting moves when provoked. When the bell rings King Tux and Mayham get in the ring and argue over who would have prevailed. Mayham goads King Tux into putting the FTR tag titles on the line next Elevation to continue the fight!
SONNY ROCKET vs. CRUST
Crust takes a beating but makes a valiant effort to keep coming back. Rocket continues to wear him down and ends it with Mic Drop. Uranus can't stand to see Rocket celebrate and attacks from behind (FT8). Uranus sets up a chair to piledrive Rocket on but Axe storms the ring chasing off Uranus and Crust. As Sonny recovers he makes a match.
"You want to get involved so bad Uranus, we'll have ourselves a little tag match, you and Crust vs. Me and Axe next Elevation!"
VACANT vs. SWERVE vs. ASTARTE
4 STARS
Great action and chemistry between these three men. Fighting goes all over The Launching Pad with pins only being stopped by the opponent not involved. The turning point comes outside the ring - Swerve back body drops Astarte onto the ringside floor when Vacant attacks. Swerve fights him off then grabs a chair. He struggles with whether or not to use it, finally deciding to swing. Unfortunately, Vacant ducks and Astarte (just beginning to stir) takes the chair shot full force getting knocked out in the process. Vacant and Swerve continue the fight inside the ring with Swerve winning with TITAN DROP.
Commissioner Rocket is back in his office twirling in his chair when an FTR official comes in. "With Quest's suspension ending in a few days the Higher-Ups want you to know he's been given unfettered access to conduct his investigation"
Rocket spins to face his wall. "Well then, I guess we should let him proceed. He can start next week, with Vacant!"
FTR CHAMPIONSHIP
COSMIC CAGE
PARDON vs. CAPT. CROSSBONES
As Pardon climbs in the cage the ring announcer starts.
"The following contest is for the FTR title and will be a WALK THE PLANK match!"
Pardon is as confused and angry as the fans in attendance listening to the ring announcer explain the rules. Capt. Crossbones stands in his corner all smiles.
WALK THE PLANK
Pardon makes quick work of Crossbones then starts climbing the cage after executing FUTURE ENDEVORS. As he starts to walk the plank Crossbones catches up with him. They exchange blows before Crossbones tosses Pardon 15 feet back to the mat!
Crossbones retrieves the sail and is once again FTR champion!
