I personally take it on a case by case basis. If we're using the Bryan Danielson example, yes his card is very strong but I don't personally mind because he's had a pretty stellar career and he's someone I personally like and feel could/should be at the top of the LOW rankings. Same with AJ Styles. BUT there are definitely some indy cards that are higher than I would like them for my Legends fed. I understand why, I'm not here to the great work that people like Zeke and Ty do. It would suck for Indies players if all of their cards were ranked so they always had really short matches or something. So, I either choose not to use cards that aren't statted the way I would want them for my fed, or I make adjustments like making their pin rating higher. I feel like a lot of the guys who are in this gray area of whether they should be in Legends rather than Indies, fall pretty squarely as a mid-carder stat-wise, which is usually pretty right on. There are probably some specific examples that people could argue about but overall, I've been very happy with most of the ones that I actually care about. .................. ^ What he said. Case by case. When you get a good "feel" for the cards you can take a look at them and pretty quickly figure out which ones fit into the greater scheme of things and which only work in their own subset (Chikara, ROH, etc). Like that (in hindsight) extremely unfortunate Michael Elgin ROH champion edition card? Yeah, that doesn't work for me brother. But Styles and Danielson definitely have earned their spot in the legends side of things with stronger cards IMO, just based on where they've been positioned in the world of wrestling over the past 5-8 years. It's all personal taste at the end of the day. If you like a card and like the way it plays, use it any way you'd like.

Uh oh. We're going to get into the old Nick Bockwinkle vs Kevin Steen argument again. Not to side track too much, I would be interested to hear a summary of this argument.

TLDR: Bock is one of the best wrestlers who ever lived, and was a credible world champion in his early 50s. Steen/Owens is not. Nick looked like a champion. Steen looks like the toughest guy in the trailer park. And their cards should not be close in strength. Pretty much that. Not sorry. 😆 EDIT: to be fair, I was in a mood last night when I answered about Steen and Bockwinkel. Even though he doesn't look like much I probably wouldn't be so down on him if he never had a Twitter account!

Can I just say "It's up to you promoter!"? This is where I land. "Are you okay with this guy being able to hang with Lou Thesz?" is what you need to ask yourself when you bring in an indie headliner. I've brought in Mil Muertes for short runs and I've thought of doing a Memphis fed with Mance Warner in the Jerry Lawler slot but I don't really want Trevor Lee or Johnny Gargano headlining my Legends fed.
