Thanks. It was a fun experience as I looked at Rahl ratings, how a player would fit a team, deciding if a team would want balance (ie power wrestlers along with skilled guys) or go strong in one direction and of course the whole face/heel issue. The biggest thing I debated was putting Sam on Terror's team.

WWL Spring 2089
Week 1
Mexico City Fire @ Los Angeles Stars
(O) Splatter (LA) beat Brute (MC) with Hatchet Job. Time: 8:32. Fatigue: Brute-1 (MC) Actagon (MC) beat Invincible Krakan (LA) via DQ for pushing ref as they fought on the floor. Time: 6:24. Fatigue: Actagon-3, Invincible Krakan-1 (ME) Bishop Hell (LA) beat Wolf (MC) with Hellfire. Time: 13:02. Fatigue: Wolf-3
Winner: Los Angeles 2-1.
Injuries: Wolf has a light injury. He is not expected to miss time.
NOTES: Splatter got the Stars off to a hot start. Actagon was in trouble but Krakan bailed him out to even the game at 1 fall each. Then in an upset. Bishop Hell dominated Wolf in a long grueling battle to win the game for the Stars. It seems LA making a surprise pick of Bishop Hell in the 1st round paid off.
Barcelona Conquistadors @ Frankfurt Knights
(O) Pit Viper (F) beat Lord Nexus (B) with Venom Blast. Time: 6:02. Fatigue: Pit Viper-1. (MC) Massacre (F) beat Commander Sam with Decapitator. Time: 2:09. Fatigue: Commander Sam-1 (ME) Comrade Terror (B) beat Exo-King (F) with Comrade Neck Clutch. Time: 9:01. Fatigue: Comrade Terror-4, Exo-King-2.
Winner Frankfurt 2-1.
Injuries: Comrade Terror has a mild injury and is not expected to miss time.
NOTES. After his teammate Pit Viper got the win in the opening round Massacre made short work of Sam to secure the victory for the Knights. But since match records are important in tie breakers Comrade Terror went out and battled hard. He took his lumps but got the victory to avoid the sweep. Post-game he had some choice words for his teammates.
Chicago Muscle @ New York Titans.
(O) Spike (NY) beat Proteus (C) with Super Destroyer. Time: 2:54. Fatigue: Proteus-1. (MC) Massif (C) beat Battering Ram (NY) with Massif Power Slam. Time: 4:48. Fatigue: Massif-1, Battering Ram-3. (ME) Bounty Hunter (C) beat Galactic Punisher (NY) with Ambush. Time: 9:22. Fatigue: Bounty Hunter-1, Galactic Punisher-3.
Winner: Chicago 2-1.
Injuries: None.
NOTES: New York, the favorite to win the North American Conference, went with an interesting strategy. They put their 2nd pick in the Opening match against the 3rd pick of Chicago and put their 3rd pick in the Mid Card match against Chicago's 2nd pick. It seemed they were going for a better matchup in those matches. It was mixed results as they went 1-1. Still, they would have won the game if their top overall pick had won in the main event. They will have to try and bounce back next week against LA. Not how they thought their season would start, especially at home.
Highlight Match of the Week.
Rome Empire @ London Red Coats.
(O) Incredible Badger (L) beat Tongsoon (R) via DQ as both men brawled on the floor and Tongsoon went too far. Time: 4:25. Fatigue: None. (MC) Mesmer (L) beat Mad Jester (R) when Mad Jester ran into the turnbuckle and Mesmer rolled him up. Time: 5:14. Fatigue: Mesmer-1. (ME) Thantos (R) beat Star Warrior (L) with Masterlock. Time: 8:38. Fatigue: Star Warrior-3.
Winner: London 2-1.
Injuries: Star Warrior has a medium injury. He is questionable for next week.
NOTES: This was the Match of the Week due to the top two picks in the draft facing off. London went with the same strategy as New York but with better results. Putting their 3rd pick in the Mid Card and their 2nd pick in the Opening match resulting in a 2-0 lead in the game and clinching a win. Good thing too as Thantos, who had been bragging on social media all week that he would show Star Warrior and the world why he was the top pick, manhandled his opponent to avoid a sweep.
North American Conference Record (match results)
Los Angeles Stars. 1-0 (2-1) Chicago Muscle. 1-0 (2-1) New York Titans. 0-1 (1-2) Mexico City Fire. 0-1 (1-2)
European Conference
London Red Coats. 1-0 (2-1) Frankfurt Knights. 1-0 (2-1) Rome Empire. 0-1 (1-2) Barcelona Conquistadors, 0-1 (1-2)
Here is next week's schedule.

WWL Spring 2089
Week 2
Mexico City Fire @ Chicago Muscle
(O) Brute (MC) beat Proteus (C) with Decapitator. Time: 32:42. Fatigue: Brute-4, Proteus-1. (MC) Actagon (MC) beat Massif (C) with Grecian Sleeper Grip. Time: 3:28. Fatigue: Actagon-1, Massif-1. (ME) Bounty Hunger (C) beat Wolf (MC) with Ambush. Time: 3:14. Fatigue: Wolf-2.
Winner: Mexico City 2-1.
Injuries: Brute has a light injury. He should not miss any time.
NOTES: The opening match was a wild affair. Brawling on the floor. Proteus flying off the top rope. In fact, it was his flying off the rope that turned the tide in this match. He was starting to gain the advantage and seemed on his way to victory. But he was a bit unstable on his feet as he went up top. He flew off and took out the ref. Brute hit a Decapitator but there was no ref to make the count. Brute stirred the ref and hit a second Decapitator to get the hard-fought win. --- After Actagon secured the victory for Mexico City, in a match 1/10 the time of the opening match, they had the chance to substitute for Wolf in the main event but Wolf would not have it. He was a bit hobbled and put up a good fight but came up short.
Frankfurt Knights @ Rome Empire
(O) Tongsoon (R) beat Pit Viper (F) with Battle Cry. Time: 26:51. Fatigue: Tongsoon-2. (MC) Mad Jester (R) beat Massacre (F) with Joker Flip. Time: 3:54. Fatigue: Massacre-2. (ME) Exo-King (F) beat Thantos (R) with a power slam as he caught Thantos jumping off the top rope. Time: 16:56. Fatigue: Exo-King-2, Thantos-2.
Winner: Rome 2-1.
Injuries: None.
NOTES. Another long, grueling opening match. One that saw the winner more fatigued than his opponent. --- Thantos refused to sit out the Main Event even with the team win in hand. He paid for it with taking the L. Post-match he talked about how he fired up his team after their loss last week and they responded as they should. When asked about his loss he said the ref missed his shoulder up before the three.
London Red Coats @ Barcelona Conquistadors
(O) Lord Nexus (B) beat Mesmer (L) with a dropkick off the turnbuckle. Time: 8:51. Fatigue: none. (MC) Incredible Badger (L) beat Commander Sam (B) with Burrow Blast. Time: 3:05. Fatigue: Commander Sam-1. (ME) Comrade Terror (B) beat Star Warrior (L) with a sunset flip off the ropes. Time: 11:26. Fatigue: Comrade Terror-2, Star Warrior-2.
Winner: Barcelona 2-1.
Injuries: No new ones. Star Warrior is still feeling effects from Week 1.
NOTES: With the game tied 1-1 both Warrior and Terror came in hobbled from their week 1 matches. They fought hard with Terror coming out on top to secure the win for Barcelona. Meanwhile, Star Warrior, the second overall player drafted, lost for the second time and will look for his first personal win next week.
Highlight Match of the Week.
Los Angeles Stars @ New York Titans
(O) Splatter (LA) beat Battering Ram (NY) with ax handle. Time: 6:04. Fatigue: none. (MC) Spike (NY) beat Invincible Krakan (LA) via DQ due to brawling on the floor. Time: 2:13. Fatigue: none. (ME) Galactic Punisher (NY) beat Bishop Hell (LA) with Verdict. Time: 7:05. Fatigue: Bishop Hell-2.
Winner: New York 2-1.
Injuries: None.
NOTES: This was the Highlight match due to classic NY vs LA matchup. New York went with the standard lineup and it got them the win. They lost the opening match but came roaring back. --- For the second week Krakan cost his team by getting DQ'd. How long with LA put up with that?
North American Conference Record (match results)
Los Angeles Stars. 1-1 (3-3) Chicago Muscle. 1-1(3-3) New York Titans. 1-1 (3-3) Mexico City Fire. 1-1 (3-3)
European Conference
London Red Coats. 1-1 (3-3) Frankfurt Knights. 1-1(3-3) Rome Empire. 1-1 (3-3) Barcelona Conquistadors. 1-1 (3-3)

WWL Spring 2089
Week 3
Los Angeles Stars @ Chicago Muscle
(O) Splatter (LA) beat Proteus (C) via DQ for brawling on the floor. Time: 5:54. Fatigue: None. (MC) Massif (C) beat Invincible Krakan (LA) with overhead toss. Time: 2:16. Fatigue: None. (ME) Bounty Hunter (C) beat Bishop Hell (LA) via DQ for attacking on the floor. Fatigue: None.
Winner: Chicago 2-1.
Injuries: None.
NOTES: After starting strong LA faded. --- Invincible Krakan is one of a few men still looking for his first WWL win. At least this time he did not get DQ'd. When asked about this after the game he said the coach asked him to tone down his brawling style which he did but that it cost him the match. --- Bishop Hell was doing good and Bounty Hunter rolled to the floor. Hell made the mistake of going after him and throwing him into the ring steps. That cost him the match and his team the game.
London Red Coats @ Frankfurt Knights
(O) Mesmer (L) beat Pit Viper (F) with sleeper hold. Time: 5:36. Fatigue: None. (MC) Incredible Badger (L) beat Massacre (F) with Ani-Men Ax Handle. Time: 1:41. Fatigue: None. (ME) Star Warrior (L) beat Exo-King (F) with Nova Launch. Time: 9:20. Fatigue: Star Warrior-2, Exo-King-4.
Winner: London 3-0.
Injuries: Exo-King is seriously injured. He looks to be out for the rest of the season.
NOTES: With the team win in hand Star Warrior, still nursing an injury, went out there and not only got his first win of the season but helped London to the first shutout of the season and in WWL history. --- That was the good news coming out of the Main Event. The bad is that Exo-King suffered an injury to his ribs. He will be evaluated but early thoughts are that he is done for the season. That would be the first major injury and be a huge blow to Frankfurt's championship aspirations.
Barcelona Conquistadors @ Rome Empire
(O) Tongsoon (R) beat Killer Queen (B) with Battle Cry. Time: 3:23. Fatigue: Killer Queen-2. (MC) Lord Nexus (B) beat Mad Jester (R) with Titan Drop. Time: 3:24. Fatigue: None. (ME) Thantos (R) beat Comrade Terror (B) with Masterlock. Time: 4:30. Fatigue: Comrade Terror-1, Thantos-2.
Winner: Rome 2-1.
Injuries: None.
NOTES: Commander Sam was a healthy scratch. Word is that Comrade Terror talked, or intimidated, the coach into starting Killer Queen in his place. That plan did not work out. The Barcelona coach said Sam would be back next week but is likely to be moved from Mid Card match to the Opening match. That is mostly based on the recent performance of Lord Nexus. --- The Main Event saw a lot of posturing between Terror and Thantos before the match started as both thought they were the best in WWL. For at least this match, it was Thantos who showed it was him.
Highlight Match of the Week.
New York Titans @ Mexico City Fire
(O) Brute (MC) beat Battering Ram (NY) via DQ when Ram tossed Brute out of the ring and went after him. He got too physical for the ref. Time: 5:50. Fatigue: Brute: 2. (MC) Actagon (MC) beat Spike (NY) with Grecian Power Drop. Time: 5:37. Fatigue: Spike-3, Actagon-2. (ME) Galactic Punisher (NY) beat Wolf (MC) with Life Sentence. Time: 7:21. Fatigue: Wolf-2.
Winner: Mexico City 2-1.
Injuries: None.
NOTES: This was the Highlight match due to being the first home game for Mexico City. The fans were fired up and it helped propel the home team to victory. New York fell short again. --- With his team's victory assured Wolf went out there trying to secure his first win of the season. He was still fighting the injury bug and put in a good fight but came up short.
North American Conference Record (match results)
Mexico City Fire 2-1 (5-4) Chicago Muscle 2-1(5-4) New York Titans 1-2 (4-5) Los Angeles Stars 1-2 (4-5)
European Conference
London Red Coats 2-1 (6-3) Rome Empire 2-1 (5-4) Barcelona Conquistadors 1-2 (4-5) Frankfurt Knights 1-2(3-6)

WWL Mid-Season Spring 89 Report presented by ESPN Space
Howard Berman: Welcome, to our WWL mid-season report. It has been an exciting first half to the inaugural WWL season and we are sure the second half will be just as great.
Alice Bundy: That's right Howard. We are headed to the end of the season which mean one thing, crowning the first WWL Cup Champion. Which team will it be?
Howard Berman: Let's first look at the current standings.
North American Conference Record (match results)
Mexico City Fire 2-1 (5-4) Chicago Muscle 2-1(5-4) New York Titans 1-2 (4-5) Los Angeles Stars 1-2 (4-5)
European Conference
London Red Coats 2-1 (6-3) Rome Empire 2-1 (5-4) Barcelona Conquistadors 1-2 (4-5) Frankfurt Knights 1-2(3-6)
Alice Bundy: As you see it is a tight race in both conferences. The closest thing we have to a team leading the pack is the London Red Coats who, thanks to a recent shutout, have won one more match than anyone else.
Howard Bermen: So true. Could they be the one to go...all...the...way? One team that is unlikely to win it all is the Frankfurt Knights. Not only do they sit in dead last with one less match win than the rest thanks to being shutout by London but they lost their top draft pick, Exo-King, for the season. Earlier today he had an MRI and after getting the results the Knights put him on IL for the rest of the season.
Alice Bundy: To fill the roster spot they signed free agent Pulsar to a one season contract for $40,000. They could try and make a trade but it seems unlikely. The deadline for making trades is fast approaching as teams have until the start of Week 4 to finalize the trade. Otherwise, they have to wait till the off season.
Howard Bermen: Exactly. With the Knights sitting in last it does not make a lot of sense to give up a lot to trade for a player for the last half of the season. Especially when most of the teams are still in the hunt for a championship. So, the real question is, who is the favorite to win each conference. In the North American Conference, the favorite New York Titans are struggling at 1-2. It looks like it might be Chicago or Mexico City who comes out on top.
Alice Bundy: Meanwhile in the European Conference the Week 4 matchup between the London Red Coats and Rome Empire, the teams who had the first two picks in this season's draft, could decide who wins the conference. Both teams sit at the top at 2-1 and this is the last meeting between them this season.
Howard Bermen: Great point. Now, before we wrap things up. Let's look at who is up for end of the season awards. The WWL will be awarding two trophies at the end of the regular season. MVP of the Season and Igniter of the Season.
Alice Bundy: The MVP of course is for the Most Valuable Player and will go to the best wrestler. The Igniter is the wrestler who wrestled mostly in the Opening match and helped his team off to a hot start with wins and great performances. For me, the MVP should be either Bounty Hunter who is 3-0 and has Chicago tied on top of the conference. The Igniter would be Splatter who is 3-0 while his teammates are only 1-5.
Howard Bermen: Not bad. For me, the MVP comes down to either Thantos who is 2-1 and was the first draft pick for a reason or Actagon who is 3-0 in the Mid-Card slot helping pick up slack for Main Eventer Wolf who is winless at 0-3 yet the Mexico City team is tied with Chicago at the top of the conference. I agree with the Splatter pick. Of course, there is still half a season to go. So, keep watching all the hot WWL action here on ESPN Space.

WWL Spring 2089
Week 4:
Los Angeles Stars @ Mexico City Fire
(O) Invincible Krakan (LA) beat Brute (MC) via DQ. Time: 3:27. Fatigue: Brute-1. (MC) Splatter (LA) beat Actagon (MC) via DQ. Time: 4:29. Fatigue: Actagon-1. (ME) Bishop Hell (LA) beat Wolf (MC) with Hellfire. Time: 5:35. Fatigue: Wolf-2.
Winner: Los Angeles 3-0
Injuries: None.
NOTES: Los Angeles became the second team to sweep their matches. But not without controversy. After the game the Mexico City coach complained about the officiating. He said while Brute went too far when he choked Krakan with TV cables on the floor Actagon did not deserve his DQ. He said Actagon and Splatter were both brawling but only his man was DQ'd. A report pointed out that Splatter had stopped and put up his hands while Actagon continued to throw punches and the coach said it was just Splatter working the ref. Finally, the coach said Bishop Hell should have been disqualified when he used Hellfire the first time. But no and to make matters worse, after the two count he used Hellfire a second time on Wolf and the ref let it go. The coach said he plans on filing a complaint with WWL officials.
Frankfurt Knights @ Barcelona Conquistadors
(O) Commander Sam (B) beat Executioner (F) via DQ. Time: 3:52. Fatigue: none. (MC) Lord Nexus (B) beat Pit Viper (F) with dropkick off the turnbuckle. Time: 21:05. Fatigue: Pit Viper-3, Lord Nexus-2. (ME) Comrade Terror (B) beat Massacre (F) with Atomic Warhead. Time: 4:39. Fatigue: none.
Winner: Barcelona 3-0
Injuries: Pit Viper is seriously injured. He is questionable for next week as well as the rest of the season.
NOTES: Barcelona shut out the struggling Frankfurt Knights. To make matters worse, the Knights suffered another serious injury. Pit Viper got rocked by the dropkick to end the match and he might miss some time. --- Lord Nexus was in the Mid-Card for the second straight week. He continues to shine. --- When asked about Commander Sam getting his first win Comrade Terror said, "It's about time. Of course, he won thanks to his opponent getting DQ'd but it is better than him losing like normal".
New York Titans @ Chicago Fire
(O) Proteus (C) beat Earthquake (NY) with full power slam. Time: 14:22. Fatigue: Earthquake-4, Proteus-1. (MC) Massif (C) beat Spike (NY) via DQ. Time: 7:23. Fatigue: Spike-1. (ME) Galactic Punisher (NY) beat Bounty Hunter (C) via DQ. Time: 6:20. Fatigue: Bounty Hunter-1.
Winner: Chicago 2-1
Injuries: Earthquake has a light injury. He should be available next week.
NOTES: Galactic Punisher won to avoid the sweep but New York lost again. The season has been a major disappointment for them. --- Earthquake made his season debut in place of the struggling Battering Ram. --- Chicago was supposedly thinking of putting Renegade in the Opening match for Proteus who has struggled at 0-3 but ended up not doing it. Proteus got his first win.
Highlight Match of the Week.
London Red Coats @ Rome Empire
(O) Mesmer (L) beat Mad Jester (R) via count out. Time: 13:13. Fatigue: none. (MC) Tongsoon (R) beat Incredible Badger (L) with Battle Cry. Time: 11:38. Fatigue: Incredible Badger-6. (ME) Thantos (R) beat Star Warrior (L) with Masterlock. Time: 6:24. Fatigue: Thantos-1.
Winner: Rome 2-1
Injuries: None.
NOTES: This was the Highlight match due to once again pitting the top two draft picks against each other. It had the bonus of being between top two teams in the European Conference. --- Rome moved Mad Jester to the opening match due to his struggles. They continued when Mesmer beat him down on the floor and then he could not beat the ten count. --- Incredible Badger took a lot of damage in his match but he avoided any injury. --- After Tongsoon, who was moved up to the Mid-Card due to his performances, evened up the game at 1-1 it came down to the Main Event. --- The home crowd was riled up for the Main Event. Meanwhile, the London fans in attendance started a soccer like song for the Red Coats. --- Star Warrior and Thantos were having a great match. Then both men clotheslined each other causing them to be laid out on the mat. Thantos recovered first and slapped on Masterlock.
North American Conference Record (match results)
Chicago Muscle 3-1(7-5) Los Angeles Stars 2-2 (7-5) Mexico City Fire 2-2 (5-7) New York Titans 1-3 (5-7)
European Conference
Rome Empire 3-1 (7-5) London Red Coats 2-2 (7-5) Barcelona Conquistadors 2-2 (7-5) Frankfurt Knights 1-3 (3-9)

WWL Spring 2089
Week 5
Rome Red Coats @ Frankfurt Knights
(O) Mad Jester (R) beat Pulsar (F) with Joker Flip. Time: 3:46. Fatigue: none. (MC) Tongsoon (R) beat Executioner (F) with flying knee. Time: 3:52. Fatigue: Executioner-1. (ME) Thantos (R) beat Massacre (F) with Masterlock. Time: 6:43. Fatigue: Thantos-1, Massacre-2.
Winner: Rome 3-0
Injuries: None
NOTES: Rome came into Frankfurt and swept a shorthanded Knights team. --- Pulsar was doing well when he attempted a Tombstone piledriver. (Target was 10 or less and rolled an 11). Mad Jester countered it and shortly after picked up the pin. --- With the victory, not only was Rome the first team to 4 wins but they clinched the conference title and will play for the WWL Cup. Even if they lose next week and London wins putting them in a tie Rome wins the tie breaker due to being 2-0 in head-to-head matchups. --- At the post-game press conference Thantos said of course they won the conference. He is on the team. He said he will be getting paid in the offseason as he will be getting his contract redone.
Mexico City Fire @ New York Titans
(O) Battering Ram (NY) beat Brute (MC) with Battering Ram. Time: 11:22. Fatigue: Brute-1. (MC) Wolf (MC) beat Spike (NY) via DQ. Time: 2:41. Fatigue: Spike-1. (ME) Galactic Punisher (NY) beat Actagon (MC) with Life Sentence. Time: 14:22. Fatigue: Actagon-6, Galactic Punisher-1.
Winner New York 2-1
Injuries: Actagon was very seriously injured. He has numerous injuries. Yet, if Mexico City still had a chance at the conference he could probably go. Since that is not the case Mexico City is shutting him down for the season. He will have minor surgery then rehab and hope to be back for the beginning of the Fall 2089 season. Man-Mountain will make his debut in Actagon's place.
NOTES: New York was desperate to stay out of the basement and keep their conference title aspirations alive. --- Word is Battering Ram was instructed by the New York coach to be more aggressive in the ring. It paid off as he picked up his first win on the season. --- Wolf also got his first win although it was by DQ. Spike tossed him out of the ring, went after him and got too aggressive. Spike was upset after as he knew he might have cost his team the win. --- A lot was riding on the Main Event and it was a slobber knocker between Actagon and Galactic Punisher. Actagon survived not one but two Verdicts. The end came when Punisher clocked Actagon with a flying back elbow off the top rope and followed up with Life Sentence. The home crowd went wild. --- With LA's win, Mexico City has been eliminated from the conference title race. The best they can hope for is to finish in a four-team tie at three wins a piece. Then, based on match records as a tie breaker, they would fall short to at least one team in any scenario.
Chicago Muscle @ Los Angles Stars
(O) Invincible Krakan (LA) beat Proteus (C) with Falling Face Slam. Time: 5:39. Fatigue: Proteus-1. (MC) Massif (C) beat Splatter (LA) via DQ. Time: 5:40. Fatigue: Spike-1. (ME) Bishop Hell (LA) beat Bounty Hunter (C) with Hellfire. Time: 14:30. Fatigue: Bishop Hell-1.
Winner: Los Angeles 2-1
Injuries: None.
NOTES: The LA crowd was hot and the stars were out for the Stars. Tinseltown, the music industry and other LA sports teams were represented in the crowd. --- In the Opening match, Krakan got his second win in a row and an impressive one. On the other side, this might have been Proteus's last match this season as post game talk was that Renegade might get the nod next week since Proteus cannot buy a win. --- In the Mid-Card match, Massif tossed Splatter out of the ring and went after him. Splatter was frustrated and grabbed a monitor and hit Massif with it. --- The fans were in a frenzy for the Main Event. It seemed Bishop Hell grasped the importance of the match as he kept the action in the ring. Neither man took the fight to the floor. Hell did try one high risk move off the top but failed. It did not matter as Hellfire got him the W. --- Chicago was trying to clinch the conference but failed. They will be on the road while LA gets NY at home. The North American Conference will come down to the last week. Currently LA and Chicago are tied in the standings and in head-to-head matchups 1-1. So, it might come down to team match records to decide the conference winner.
Highlight Match of the Week.
Barcelona Conquistadors @ London Red Coats.
(O) Commander Sam (B) beat Mesmer (L) via DQ. Time: 10:02. Fatigue: Mesmer-2. (MC) Incredible Badger (L) beat Lord Nexus (B) when a failed sunset flip ended in a pin. Time: 12:22. Fatigue: Lord Nexus-4, Incredible Badger-3. (ME) Star Warrior (L) beat Comrade Terror (B) with a Michinoku Driver. Time: 11:56. Fatigue: Comrade Terror-1, Star Warrior-2.
Winner: London 2-1
Injuries: Lord Nexus has light injury as is not expected to miss any time. The same goes for Incredible Badger.
NOTES: This was the Highlight match to focus on Barcelona. The little team that almost could, Barcelona with no 1st round pick on the team, finally got eliminated from the conference title picture. London was also eliminated for that matter. One just has to wonder what might have been if Star Warrior had not been injured in the first week. Have to wait till next season to see what a healthy London can do. --- Commander Sam started hot then got into trouble. He rolled to the floor for a breather and barely made the ten count. He was met by a clothesline of the top turnbuckle from Mesmer. Then Mesmer made a mistake. Instead of going for the pin he took the action to the floor. When the ref tried to get him off of Sam, he pushed the ref away and thus lost the match. --- In the Mid-Card Nexus was doing good. Then he attempted a sunset flip but Badger blocked it, grabbed Nexus's legs and made the pin. --- Star Warrior and Comrade Terror put on a great Main Event. They showed why they are their team's captains. Terror tried a cross body off the top but Star Warrior rolled thru, lifted Terror and hit the Michinoku Driver for the win.
North American Conference Record (match results)

WWL Spring 2089
Week 6
Frankfurt Knights @ London Red Coats
(O) Mesmer (L) beat Pulsar (F) with eye blinder. Time: 12:32. Fatigue: none. (MC) Incredible Badger (L) beat Executioner (F) with dropkick off turnbuckle. Time: 3:45. Fatigue: Incredible Badger-2. (ME) Massacre (F) beat Star Warrior (L) with Massacre Slam. Time: 3:31. Fatigue: Star Warrior-4.
Winner: London 2-1
Injuries: Star Warrior suffers a serious injury. He will have surgery soon as possible and should be ready for the start of next season.
NOTES: In the Opening match Pulsar lost but put on a good showing. He is young and shows a lot of promise. --- As Frankfurt limped to the finish line Massacre went out determined to not let his team be swept again. He really took the fight to Star Warrior. After hitting a leg drop off the turnbuckle, he hit his finisher and got the win over Star Warrior. --- Frankfurt, with the loss, has the first pick in the Fall 89 draft.
Chicago Muscle @ Mexico City Fire
(O) Man-Mountain (MC) beat Renegade (C) with Mountain Slide. Time: 6:15. Fatigue: none. (MC) Brute (MC) beat Massif (C) with Decapitator. Time: 5:48. Fatigue: Massif-2, Brute-1. (ME) Wolf (MC) over Bounty Hunter (C) via DQ. Time: 4:17. Fatigue: Bounty Hunter-1, Wolf-1.
Winner: Mexico City 3-0
Injuries: None
NOTES: Mexico City was already eliminated but they got to play spoiler here and they eliminated Chicago. --- The Opening match saw two men make their WWL debut. Renegade and Man-Mountain. With two big hosses like these you would expect the match to spend at least some time on the floor. But nope. They kept the action in the ring. Solid performance by both. --- The Mid-Card however spent a lot of time on the floor. In fact, in first couple minutes Brute rolled out for a breather and Massif came out after him. Massif came close to getting a DQ but rolled Brute in and hit Volcanic Drop. Brute kicked out with power at 1. Later, Brute his Massif with a Gladiator piledriver on the floor. Massif barely got back in at the 9 count. --- Having been eliminated, Bounty Hunter showed his frustration in the Main Event that led to him hitting Wolf with a chair on the floor and getting the DQ.
Rome Empire @ Barcelona Conquistadors
(O) Commander Sam (B) beat Mad Jester (R) with a running slingshot. Time: 27:59. Fatigue Mad Jester-1, Commander Sam-3. (MC) Lord Nexus (B) beat Tongsoon (R) via count out. Time: 2:53. Fatigue: Tongsoon-2, Lord Nexus-1. (ME) Thantos (R) beat Comrade Terror (B) with Masterlock. Time: 4:15. Fatigue: none.
Winner: Barcelona 2-1
Injuries: Commander Sam suffers a serious injury. He will not need surgery but will simply let them heal and do rehab.
NOTES: Barcelona got to end the season on a high note and sent their loyal fans home happy. --- The Opening match was an instant classic and one for the ages. While they spent most of the match in the ring, they did spend some time on the floor including right off the bat. Mad Jester tossed Sam into the corner and when he ran in Sam moved causing Jester to spill out to the floor. Sam went after him and they fought there for a short time before returning to the ring. --- An unhappy Thantos came down for the Main Event, upset that his team lost. He took it out on Comrade Terror.
Highlight Match of the Week.
New York Titans @ Los Angeles Stars
(O) Invincible Krakan (LA) over Battering Ram (NY) via DQ. Time: 7:47. Fatigue: Battering Ram-2, Invincible Krakan-1. (MC) Splatter (LA) beat Spike (NY) with Hatchet Job. Time: 4:49. Fatigue: Spike-2. (ME) Galactic Punisher (NY) beat Bishop Hell (LA) with Life Sentence. Time: 5:10. Fatigue: Bishop Hell-3.
Winner: Los Angeles 2-1
Injuries: Bishop Hell has a serious injury. He is officially questionable for the WWL Cup but he says he will be there.
NOTES: The crowd was insane at the beginning of this game and the Stars did not disappoint. --- The Opening match was a slug fest more than a wrestling clinic. As the men brawled on the floor, they both were on the verge of getting DQ'd. Ram gave the ref enough ammo when he low blowed Krakan and the ref pulled the trigger. The fans went nuts. --- As the Mid-Card began the fans were lit as they knew a win would clinch the conference for them. Splatter made sure to give them what they wanted. He took the fight to Spike and got the W to clinch the game and title. --- The announcers speculated before the Main Event if LA would put Lightning in for Bishop Hell to avoid any chance of injury as the game was in hand. Hell it seems was not going to have that and went out to try for the sweep. It turned out to be a mistake as he suffered a serious injury. If he wrestles in the WWL Cup, which he says he will, he will be majorly hobbled. --- While LA was celebrating their achievement New York was left to ponder what went wrong. They had two 1st round picks and ended up in the cellar. They would have the second overall pick in the Fall 89 draft but they traded it to Barcelona. How will they fix things in the off season?

WWL All-Star Battle Royal
Howard Berman: Welcome to the first WWL All-Star Battle Royal. Three men from the North American Conference and three men from the European Conference will have a battle royal. Along with winning $10,000 for themselves the winner of the battle royal will earn the home advantage for their conference in the WWL Cup.
Alice Bundy: But before we get to that, let's look at the team. Here are the three men that were selected as All-Stars for each conference.
North American Conference: Galactic Punisher (New York), Massif (Chicago) and Splatter (Los Angeles)
European Conference: Incredible Badger (London), Thantos (Rome) and Tongsoon (Rome)
Alice Bundy: Now, obviously Splatter, Thantos and Tongsoon will not be in the battle royal as they are wrestling for the WWL Cup. So, here are the alternates that were picked to replace them.
North American Conference: Bounty Hunter (Chicago)
European Conference: Mesmer (London) and Lord Nexus (Barcelona)
Howard Berman: It should be a really good battle royal. But one last thing before we get to that. It is time to announce the MVP and Ignitor. First, the Ignitor of the Year. He is the man who started in mostly Opening matches and got his team off to a hot start with great performances. The winner is...Splatter. He has been moved to the Mid-Card for LA but he keeps getting things going and he hopes to continue that in the WWL Cup. Now, it is time to announce the MVP for Spring 89. He had a great record and led his team to the WWL Cup. He was also the first ever draft pick, Thantos.
Alice Bundy: Both awards were well earned and both men should be happy. Looking forward to see what they do not only in the WWL Cup but in the coming seasons. Now, it is time for the main event, the All-Star Battle Royal.
All-Star Battle Royal
The men slugged it out. Some close eliminations but they held on. Incredible Badger rushed at Massif who ducked and Badger flew over the top rope. First elimination at 1:11.
Lord Nexus went to try and eliminate Massif who flung him over the top rope. Second elimination at 2:29.
That was the second European Conference member eliminated. Los Angeles must be feeling good as they have a real good chance of having the home advantage with North American Conference now having a 3-1 advantage.
Massif continued his powerful run by grabbing Bounty Hunter by the head and taking him to the ropes. Massif eliminated Hunter. Third elimination at 6:34.
Massif is cleaning house. He has eliminated half the field.
Galactic Punisher tries to clothesline Massif but the big man ducks and Punisher soars out of the ring. Fourth elimination at 8:14.
That advantage the North American Conference had is gone as two men are left, one from each Conference.
Mesmer bounced off the ropes and jumped at Massif but he was caught then tossed over the top rope. Final elimination at 8:41.
Massis was on a rampage and won the All-Star Battle Royal. Los Angeles will be the home team for the WWL Cup.
Eliminations: Massif-5.
Alice Bundy: Wow, Massif was unstoppable and he won $10K for himself and home advantage for North American Conference and Los Angeles.
Howard Berman: With Bishop Hell dealing with some serious injuries LA can use every advantage they can get. The WWL Cup should be a real barn burner and I look forward to it. Remember, it will be on ESPN Space so tune in and see who wins the first WWL Cup.
