WWL Spring 90 Draft preview
Howard Berman: Welcome to the ESPN Space Special, the WWL Spring 90 Draft preview. We have a lot to unwrap today. First there is the big trade involving Rome Empire and Las Vegas Aces where Rome sent Thantos to Las Vegas along with Pulsar and a 2nd round pick in Spring 90 and Las Vegas sending Rome two 1st round picks this draft, #4 and #5, plus a 2nd round pick in Fall 90. Second, we have new names entering the draft like Mayhem and Dreadnaught who jumped to the top of most mock drafts. Then there are rumors of more trades coming and even a name change. So, let's get to it. Joining me is my lovely co-host, Alice Bundy.
Alice Bundy: Thanks Howard. Man has this been a crazy off season or what? Let's look at the final list of eligible wrestlers for the Spring 90 Draft.
Eligible wrestlers:
Adam Blast - 14 Astro Turk - (-12) Billy Jo Boxer - 15 Black Hole Bart - (-8) Cannibal - 32 Creeper - 7 Death Knight - (-8) Death Masque - 16 Demon - 10 Dragonmaster - 33 Dreadnaught - 40 Frenzy - 3 Fury - 25 Ghengis Khan - 12 Hydra -2 Justice - 30 Killer Queen - 23 King Lear - 34 Lance At-Las - 35 Mace - 29 Mayhem - 44 Mitsuko - 3 Mr. Galaxy - 18 Mutant - 7 Psycho - 3 Reynard B Guile - (-28) Royal Overlord - (-25) Serpent Unman - 7 Soldier of Fortune - 33 Tendron - 21 Trainer Jim - (-22) Ursa Major - (-36) US Patriot - 23 Vanity - 7 Vlad Hammer - 14 Whiplash - 30
Chris Berman: Most experts think Mayhem will be the first one off the board but there is some buzz for Dreadnaught due to Mayhem's wild, unpredictable behavior.
Alice Bundy: That is true. Former favorite to go first, Lance At-Las is still a possibility but it seems he is more likely to go third to Glasgow.
Chris Berman: Speaking of who is picking where, let's take a look at the current draft order for both rounds.
1st round
1 - Paris 2 - Toronto 3 - Glasgow 4 - Rome (received from Las Vegas)) 5 - Rome (received from Las Vegas) (picked from London)) 6 - Mexico City 7 - Rome 8 - Chicago 9 - Paris (picked from Los Angeles) 10 - Barcelona 11 - Frankfurt 12 - New York
2nd round
1 - London 2 - Mexico City 3 - Los Angeles 4 - Chicago 5 - Las Vegas (received from Rome) 6 - Barcelona 7 - Frankfurt 8 - New York 9 - Paris 10 - Toronto 11 - Glasgow 12 - Las Vegas
Alice Bundy: Thanks to the big Thantos trade, Rome is sitting pretty with three picks in the top seven. But rumors are swirling that they might trade one or more of those picks. London, who lost their 1st round pick in the expansion draft, is one name tied to a lot of these rumors.
Howard Berman: Yes, Rome has a lot of power right now with the three high draft picks. They can go young and get new faces or they would make a trade or two and bring in established veterans.
Alice Bundy: A bit of both might be the way to go. We saw last season how Frankfurt went from the cellar to the penthouse by trading for Wolf and picking Matador of M83. They did not win the WWL Cup but they were right there with a chance.
Howard Berman: Speaking of the WWL Cup, the past two winners, Los Angeles and New York, will be looking to reload and go for the Cup again this year. Los Angeles fell short of their attempt to repeat so they will look to upgrade. Meanwhile, the defending champs, New York Titans, lost Battering Ram in the expansion draft so will be looking to replace him and hopefully get even better so they can try and repeat.
Alice Bundy: Just about time to wrap things up. One last bit of info to pass on, the wrestler formerly known as Guardsman has renamed himself Fury. He has been working out with some former wrestlers and word is even took some lessons from living legend Omega. They say he is much improved and might get drafted near the end of the 2nd round or be a viable free agent.
Howard Berman: That is our show. The Spring 90 Draft is just around the corner. For Alice Bundy I am Howard Berman and we will see you at the matches.

I think Las Vegas made a good trade in getting Thantos for 2 First Round picks. I thought you might like that. When I decided to add four teams, I knew I wanted one to make a big splash. I quickly set on Vegas and it seems the most likely one. It was just a matter of who to trade for. Thanos being an MVP and not happy with his current team seemed a good choice. Plus, Vegas got Pulsar. Thantos seems something in the young man and thinks he is going to get better.

WWL News
The Three
3) Is the Cleansing a form of PED?
Recently Massacre and Brute returned to Aethra and went thru a Cleansing. The act of this Cleansing is shrouded in mystery as it is an almost religious like ceremony for Aethrans and they do not talk about it much to outsiders. As it is, the two men have reported to be faster and stronger after the ceremony. That begs the question, is it a form of PED? So far WWL officials, not to mention any other sports league, have not claimed it to be and are allowing it. Unofficial word says that Spike could be going thru a Cleansing sometime in the near future.
2) WWL expand the playoffs.
WWL officials have decided, based on the growing size of the Conferences, to let the top two teams in each Conference have a playoff to see who goes on to the WWL Cup. The team that finishes first in each Conference will be at home vs the team that finished second. The winner will then move on to the WWL Cup.
1) Rome continues making big trades.
As expected, Rome took their picks, they got from Las Vegas in the Thantos, trade and traded them. It was thought they might trade one but they actually traded both. They traded the #4 pick and traded it to London in exchange for London's 1st and 2nd round picks in the Fall 90 draft. Then they traded the #5 pick, which originally belonged to London, to New York for New York's 1st and 2nd round picks in the Fall 90 draft.
In London's case this was about trying to get better which would have been hard to do with no 1st round pick this season. Now they have one. For New York, it was about trying to stay on the top. They won the WWL Cup but lost their 3rd best player. They have a 1st round pick in the upcoming draft but it is not till #12 and the really good wrestlers are expected to be long gone by then. This leaves them with no picks next year but they should have a solid lineup and be in contention for next few years at least.
As for Rome, it is believed they are going all in on trying to get Chaos in the Fall 90 draft. There is a chance he is not available then but by most accounts he will be. As it stands right now Rome has three 1st round picks in the Fall 90 draft (theirs, London's and New York's) plus four 2nd round picks (theirs, Las Vegas's, London's and New York's). That is seven picks overall. If one of those picks, theirs or London's being most likely, ends up #1 they can have Chaos easily. If not, they have a lot to offer whoever does end up with the top pick to trade up and get Chaos. Worse case, they do not get the #1 pick and whoever does choose to take Chaos for themselves, Rome will be able to get a lot of good talent, either via the draft and/or by trading for established wrestlers on someone's rosters.

ESPN Space Special
WWL Spring 90 Draft
Howard Berman: Welcome to the WWL Spring 90 draft. As always, I am joined by Alice Bundy. This has already been a crazy draft and we haven't even got the clock started.
Alice Bundy: You got that right Howard. Trades galore all surrounding and involving Rome. They shook up the WWL landscape by trading their top star, Thantos, to expansion team Las Vegas. Then they took the two 1st round picks in this draft they got in the trade and sent them to London and New York for those team's 1st and 2nd round picks in Fall 90.
Howard Berman: So, a lot of excitement around this and next season's draft. But for now, it seems the commish is about to kick things off.
Commissioner Carter begins to walk to the podium as some fans boo. Then he stops. He shakes his head and motions for more noise. As more boos rain down, he smiles, gives a thumbs up and walks to the podium.
Commissioner Carter: That's more like it. I feel the love in the room. Let's get this thing started shall we. The WWL Spring 90 draft is officially underway. Paris is now on the clock.
Alice Bundy: All signs point to Paris taking Mayhem. They could pivot and pick someone else but it seems unlikely. In fact, they have made their pick so let's find out it is Mayhem after all.
Commissioner Carter: With the first pick in the Spring 90 draft the Paris Legion select, Mayhem. Toronto is now on the clock.
Howard Berman: So, they do go with Mayhem. He is the fourth Aethran to enter the WWL and he is the wildest of the bunch. If he can keep from being disqualified in his matches, he will go a long way. He should be the Main Event started for Paris but he might get challenged by another Aethran, Massacre, who is already on the team. It seems Toronto has made their selection so let's hear who that is.
Commissioner Carter: With the second pick in the Spring 90 draft the Toronto Juggernauts have selected, Dreadnaught. Glasgow is now on the clock.
Alice Bundy: A big powerful man that Toronto has taken. He is pretty much the living embodiment of a juggernaut. He will be pushing Battering Ram to start in the Main Event from day one. Here comes the next pick.
Commissioner Carter: The Glasgow pick is in. With the third pick the Glasgow Rangers have selected, King Lear. London is now on the clock.
Howard Berman: A bit of a surprise here as most people thought Glasgow would pick Lance At-Las who had been looked at as the top pick until Mayhem entered the draft.
Alice Bundy: I guess they got their King after all. They had wanted Exo-King but end up with King Lear. Not a bad deal. Next on the clock is London. They got that pick in the trade with Rome who got it from Las Vegas. London originally had the #5 pick but lost it to Las Vegas in the expansion draft so they made the trade and now pick at #4. That pick is in.
Commissioner Carter: The London Red Coats select, Lance At-Las. New York is now on the clock.
Howard Berman: Lance At-Las is finally off the board. He went from looking like he would be the top pick, to expected to go at #3 and then finally sliding to #4. London must be very happy.
Alice Bundy: Not to mention Star Warrior. Not only does he have a solid third man, if not second, on the roster but he is good friends with Lance outside of the ring.
Howard Berman: Yep, things could not have worked out much better for London. The next pick is in.
Commissioner Carter: With the fifth pick in the Spring 90 draft, the New York Titans have selected, Dragonmaster. Mexico City is now on the clock.
Alice Bundy: New York are the reigning champs but they lost their Opening match specialist Battering Ram in the expansion draft. Since they won the Cup, they were due to pick last with the 12th pick in the 1st round. So, they made the trade with Rome and picked up this pick while keeping their own 1st round pick. Dragonmaster will easily fit in the Opening match and could challenge Spike if the Aethran should struggle again this season. Time to hear the next pick.
Commissioner Carter: With the sixth pick the Mexico City Fire have selected, Soldier of Fortune. Rome is now on the clock.
Howard Berman: Mexico City is a team that is trying to find an identity. They draft Wolf in the inaugural draft but traded him for Exo-King. When King did not seem to work out for him, they left him unprotected in the expansion draft and he was scooped up by Las Vegas. Actagon looked good down the stretch of last season and should be their Main Event starter this season but not sure he is their long-term solution. Soldier gives them someone for Opening and maybe even Mid-Card but not really Main Event level I would think.
Commissioner Carter: With the seventh pick the Rome Empire has selected, Whiplash. Chicago is now on the clock.
Alice Bundy: So, Rome keeps their pick as there were rumors, they would try and trade it. Maybe no one wanted to move up and/or no one wanted to give them more picks in Fall 90. Either way they reach a bit and take Whiplash. He is not exactly Main Event material but will be a solid Mid-Card guy for them. Of course, it seems Rome's plan is to have Chaos be their Main Event guy starting in the Fall 90 season and for many seasons after that.
Commissioner Carter: Chicago Muscle have made their selection and they have chosen, Cannibal. Paris in now on the clock.
Howard Berman: Well, Chicago has picked another guy that fits their theme. He is full of muscle. Cannibal is another man that has to watch his Ps and Qs or risk being disqualified in matches. If he does that, he can go pretty far. Paris is on the clock again as they took Los Angeles's 1st round pick in the expansion draft.
Commissioner Carter: Paris Legion's second 1st round pick is in. They have selected Justice. Barcelona is on the clock.
Howard Berman: Another solid pick by Paris. Justice should easily slide into the Opening match position and could push for Mid-Card time.
Commissioner Carter: Barcelona Conquistadors have made their pick. They have taken Mace. Frankfurt is now on the clock.
Alice Bundy: Yet another big bruiser selected. Barcelona came close to winning the European Conference in Fall 89. In fact, if the Conference Championship was in effect last year, they would have been in it. Mace can help them hold onto that second spot if not maybe even challenge for the top of the Conference. Speaking of the top, Frankfurt is picking as they hope to stay on the top, get back to the WWL Cup and win it this season. Let's see who they picked to help them do that.
Commissioner Carter: Frankfurt Knights have selected Killer Queen. New York is now on the clock.
Howard Berman: I am not sure if Killer Queen will make an impact in Frankfurt. We have seen him drafted before but at this point it talent is a bit on the thin side. The reigning WWL Cup champs are up next. They already got some help when they traded with Rome and picked Dragonmaster. Who will they take with the last pick of the 1st round?
Commissioner Carter: With the final pick of the 1st round in the Spring 90 draft, the New York Titans have selected, US Patriot.
Alice Berman: There it is, the last pick of the 1st round and the champs add some depth with Patriot. He could be a fan favorite in NYC. That ends our coverage of the draft but stay tuned for results of the 2nd round.
Howard Berman: That is correct. Still 12 more names to be taken. It needs to be noted that three teams; Chicago, Los Angeles and Rome ended up with the same game and match record at the end of Fall 89. To decided what order they would pick in a random drawing was held. They were to pick in that order in the 1st round and would reverse that order in the 2nd. As Alice says this wraps up our coverage but we will see you soon as the Spring 90 season kicks off with more exciting wrestling action. So, for Alice Bundy I am Howard Berman and WE will see YOU at the matches.
*** There was a trade in the 2nd round. Right before Chicago picked at #16 they traded the pick to Glasgow for Glasgow's 2nd round pick this draft (#23) and their 2nd round pick in Fall 90 draft (TBD) ***
draft results:

WWL Spring 90
Week 1
Rome Empire @ Frankfurt Knights
(O) Pit Viper (F) beat Antimatter (R) with Venom Blast. Time: 2:59. Fatigue: Antimatter-1 (MC) Matador of M83 (F) beat Whiplash (R) with Bullwhip. Time: 10:50. Fatigue: Whiplash-1, Matador-1 (ME) Wolf (F) beat Tongsoon (R) via DQ. Time: 12:19. Fatigue: Wolf-2
Winner: Frankfurt 3-0
Injuries: None
NOTES: This was a matchup of the last two European Conference winners. --- Whiplash was the first man to make his debut this season. He lost giving Frankfurt the win. --- Tongsoon was looking to prove he deserved to be in the Main Event. He had a good showing. Twice Wolf rushed into the corner to crush him but he moved causing Wolf to crash and burn. Tongsoon rolled Wolf up both times but could not get the pin. Wolf rolled out for a breather and a frustrated Tongsoon went after him. Tongsoon was choking Wolf and ignoring the ref so he got disqualified. --- Frankfurt got the win and the season's first sweep. Odds are this will not be the last time Rome gets sweeped this season.
London Red Coats @ Paris Legion
(O) Lance At-Las (L) beat Justice (P) with Martian Manhandler. Time: 17:53. Fatigue: Lance At-Las-1, Justice-2 (MC) Massacre (P) beat Incredible Badger (L) with falling knee crunch. Time: 18:20. Fatigue: Incredible Badger-5, Massacre-2 (ME) Star Warrior (L) beat Mayhem (P) with Nova Launch. Time: 24:47. Fatigue: Star Warrior-4, Mayhem-2
Winner: London 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: The Opening match saw two men making their debut. Lance At-Las was the first rookie to pick up a win this season. --- Massacre looked more buff as he came out for the Mid-Card. He took the fight to Incredible Badger. Massacre performed The Cleansing five times but Badger survived. Meanwhile, he hit two Burrow Blast but Massacre kicked out each time. --- The Main Event was a long war. The first pin attempt didn't happen till just after the 14-minute mark. That was when Warrior hit a Nova Launch. He almost won but the rookie kicked out at the last moment. That seemed to wake Mayhem up as he was on fire after that. He hit Danger Zone then not getting the pin he went to the top rope and hit a leg drop. When Warrior kicked out it was another Danger Zone. Mayhem felt he had Warrior on the ropes. He went for the Leap of Doom but Warrior moved out of the way. Soon after Warrior got the W.
Chicago Muscle @ Las Vegas Aces
(O) Pulsar (LV) beat Cannibal (C) via DQ. Time: 5:15. Fatigue: Cannibal-1 (MC) Massif (C) beat Exo-King (LV) with Volcanic Drop. Time: 15:29. Fatigue: Exo-King-4 (ME) Thantos (LV) beat Bounty Hunter (C) with Masterlock. Time: 10:12. Fatigue-none
Winner: Las Vegas 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: Pulsar hit his finisher early on Cannibal. It didn't get him the win but it caught Cannibal, making his debut, off guard and angered him. Later Cannibal tried Throat Slit but did not hide it at all causing the ref to call for the bell. --- Exo-King being on his third team in three years tried to start good but Massif was too much. Massif almost got the win in the first minute with a Volcano Drop. Later he applied the sharpshooter and almost got Exo-King to submit. Then a piledriver again almost got him the win. Massif got the win to even things up. --- Thantos looked upset as he came down for the Main Event. He and Bounty Hunter went toe to toe then when Thantos finally decided to go for the win he slapped on Masterlock and got the submission. --- Las Vegas was the first expansion team to earn a win. --- At the post-match coverage Thantos complained about how the more things the more they change. A lot was on his shoulders but he is made for that. At least Pulsar had his back. When a reporter points out that Pulsar won by DQ Thantos just stares at him. Thantos said he and Pulsar worked on a gameplan. Pulsar would try and get the win while at the same time working to anger Cannibal and it worked. Pulsar will never reach his level but he is a future star in WWL.
Mexico City Fire @ Toronto Juggernauts
(O) Matter (T) beat Count Necros (MC) with Positive Charge. Time: 3:03. Fatigue: none (MC) Dreadnaught (T) beat Brute (MC) with Torpedo Launch. Time: 11:05. Fatigue: Brute-3 (ME) Battering Ram (T) beat Actagon (MC) with Battering Ram. Time: 13:32. Fatigue: Actagon-5
Winner: Toronto 3-0
Injuries: Brute has a light injury. He is not expected to miss time. Actagon was lucky to avoid an injury.
NOTES: The Toronto fans were excited for their team's debut. --- Matter picked up a quick win, the first in Toronto's history. It was a good start to their game and season. --- Brute was a bit buffer than last season but it didn't help. Deadnaught making his debut. He used Heavy Artillery twice and almost got the pin. He finished Brute off to give Toronto victory in their first game. --- The game was decided by the Main Event but both men had a lot to prove. Both were trying to show they belonged in the Main Event. Battering Ram, using his more aggressive style, hit a shoulder tackle in the first minute and got a 2 1/2 count. He used his finisher a few times including back-to-back to get the win. --- Not only did Toronto as an expansion team get a win out of the gate, they did it be shutting out Mexico City.
Barcelona Conquistadors @ Glasgow Rangers
(O) Mad Jester (G) beat Mace (B) with Joker Flip. Time: 6:16. Fatigue: Mace-1 (MC) King Lear (G) beat Lord Nexus (B) with The Coronation. Time: 5:53. Fatigue: King Lear-2 (ME) Comrade Terror (G) beat Iron Mane (B) with Atomic Warhead. Time: 3:25. Fatigue: none
Winner: Glasgow 3-0
Injuries: None
NOTES: Mace did not do good in his debut. Mad Jester got Glasgow off to a good start. --- Lord Nexus was moved up from the Opening match to the Mid-Card. He showed why he won the Ignitor of the Season in Fall 89 by using a Titan Drop at the start of the match and almost pinned King Lear. Later King Lear failed on a sunset flip and Nexus hooked his leg for a two count. Near the end of the match Lord Nexus left the ring and King Lear came out after him. The men brawled and Lear won. He rolled Nexus in the ring and hit his finisher. --- Another nice debut and another game win by an expansion team. Could they get the sweep? --- Comrade Terror was pumped up for this match against his former team. The team that left him unprotected in the expansion draft. To top it all off, he goes against the man that he was replaced with in the Main Event. He strode to the ring with confidence. He rolled over Iron Mane. Getting the win he hit the corner to soak in the home fan's cheers. Then he strode to the back with even more pride on his face.
Highlight Match of the Week.
Los Angeles Stars @ New York Titans
(O) Dragonmaster (NY) beat Invincible Krakan (LA) with Titan Drop. Time: 2:45. Fatigue: Dragonmater-1 (MC) Splatter (LA) beat Spike (NY) with Hatchet Job. Time: 3:08. Fatigue: Spike-1 (ME) Bishop Hell (LA) beat Galactic Punisher (NY) with Flying Cross. Time: 4:27. Fatigue: Galactic Punisher-2
Winner: Los Angeles 2-1
Injuries: None
NOTES: This season the WWL officials decided to pick the Highlight Match of the Week before the week. This week it is between the first two WWL Cup winners. --- New York raised their WWL Cup banner. The fans went wild. --- Dragonmaster was making his debut. Invincible Krakan hit him with a Falling Face Slam early in the match when he caught him off guard. Dragonmaster was able to get his shoulder up. Soon after it was his finisher that got the win. New York was off to a hot start and fans went nuts again. --- Spike came out to a loud pop. The fans sensed victory was around the corner. Unfortunately Spike had one of his off days. Splatter took the fight to Spike from the opening bell. Splatter hit a Hatchet Job and after Spike kicked out, he hit it again and evened up the game at 1-1. --- Fans went silent with the exception of a splattering boos. --- Before the Main Event fans chanted "Punisher Smash" ---Bishop Hell and Galactic Punisher struggled for control. Hell performed a backbreaker and covered for a two count. Punisher looked dazed so Hell went for his Flying Cross finisher and just like that LA had ruined New York's night.
WWL NOTES: While one expansion team winning in Week 1 is not surprising, no one thought three teams would do it. Let alone that two of them would sweep. What a crazy first week. Men making their WWL debut went 4-5, 3-4 in matches when going against a wrestler who was not making their debut.

London Red Coats (1-0) @ Rome Empire (0-1)
(O) Incredible Badger (L) beat Antimatter (R) with Ani-Men Ax Handle. Time: 34:57. Fatigue: Incredible Badger-5, Antimatter-2 (MC) Lance At-Las (L) beat Whiplash (R) with Atlas World Beater. Time: 23:33. Lance At-Las-4, Whiplash-2 (ME) Star Warrior (L) beat Tongsoon (R) via DQ. Time: 6:07. Fatigue: Star Warrior-2
Winner: London 3-0
Injuries: Incredible Badger has a light injury. He should be ok. Lance At-Las has a light injury but will be fine.
NOTES: Before the week started Thantos tweeted he wished Star Warrior the best. He said Star Warrior can finally get a win against Rome since he is no longer there. --- The London coach made the move to put Lance At-Las in the Mid-Card and Badger back into the Opening match. It sure worked out well this week. Badger survived a vicious war with Antimatter, surviving numerous Negative Charges, to pull out the win and get his team off to a good start. This match saw a lot of move and counter move as each man struggled to string offense together against the other. --- With the outcome of the game decided Tongsoon was trying to beat Star Warrior to avoid the shutout. He was doing good till the two of them started brawling on the floor. Tongsoon grabbed a cup of beer away from a fan and tossed it in Warrior's face resulting in the DQ.

NOTES: Krakan got back to his winning ways in the Opening match. --- Exo-King, under advisement of Thantos did not take a cautious approach as he had been doing since last season when instructed to do so by the Mexico City coach. It resulted in a win to knot things up at 1-1. --- Thantos was raging at the post-match interview. He said Pulsar lost quickly due to Krakan having a handful of tights. He said he got his shoulder up before the three in his match. It was bad officiating that cost him his match against Hell and the game. NOTES: The home crowd was pumped up early but that energy faded fast. When Spike lost the fans started booing. They knew the team was 0-2 to start the season. He used Mayhem Manslaughter and Lead of Doom to almost get the win. Iron Mane was lucky to get his shoulder up just in the nick of time. Mayhem let his emotions get the better of him while out on the floor. Fatigue: Mayhem-1
Winner: Paris 2-1
Injuries: None

NOTES: Antimatter was doing good in the Opening match. He used Negative Charge 3 times but could not put Justice away. He then went to the top rope and jumped off but Justice caught him in a Diamon Cutter for the win. --- Mayhem was rolling in his match. It looked like Paris would get the sweep. He hit a flying elbow off the top rope then tossed Tongsoon out of the ring. A wild brawl saw Mayhem use TV cables to choke Tongsoon to get DQ'd. So far, the top pick in the draft is 0-3 with 2 DQs --- In the post-game interview Tongsoon exploded when a reporter asked if the pressure of being in the Main Event was too much for him and if he looked forward to Chaos coming in next season to take that pressure off of him. He had to be restrained as he went for the reporter. Due to this he will be suspended one game.
New York Titans (0-2) @ Las Vegas Aces (1-1)

NOTES: Dragonmaster got New York off to a good start but things went south after that. The defending WWL Cup champs are still looking for their first win on the season. --- Spike may have hit a new low in his turbulent WWL career. He got beat fairly quickly and not even to his opponent's finisher. How long will New York management put up with his losing?
Frankfurt Knights (1-1) @ Barcelona Conquistadors (0-2)
(O) Pit Viper (F) beat Sectarian (B) with Titan Drop. Time: 10:22. Fatigue: Pit Viper-2, Sectarian-1 (MC) Lord Nexus (B) beat Matador of M83 with Titan Drop. Time: 19:41. Fatigue: Matador-4, Lord Nexus-3 (ME) Iron Mane (B) beat Wolf (F) with AniMen Ax Handle. Time: 3:44. Fatigue: Wolf-1, Iron Mane-1
Winner: Barcelona 2-1
Injuries: Matador of M83 has a medium injury but he should be fine. Lord Nexus has a medium injury and is questionable for next week.
NOTES: Pit Viper fought thru his injury to pick up a win in the Opening match. It was for naught as the rest of the team could not get a win. --- Lord Nexus and Matador of M83 had a really good match. Both men showed off their highflying skills by coming off the top turnbuckle on more than one occasion. --- Wolf had the chance to get the win for his team but he had an off night and got caught early in the match. He charged at Iron Mane in the corner but ended up ramming into the turnbuckle. It seemed to hurt his shoulder. Iron Mane went for the pin. After Wolf kicked out Iron Mane hit the Ax Handle and got the W.

NOTES: Invincible Krakan got his team off to a good start. --- Brute was battling an injury for his match. That and being surprised by Splatter performing a moonsault led to his demise. LA had won the game to remain undefeated. --- Actagon picked up his first win of the season thanks to Bishop Hell being caught using Hellfire.
Toronto Juggernauts (2-0) @ Chicago Muscle (1-1)
(O) Cannibal (C) beat Matter (T) via DQ. Time: 17:10. Fatigue: Cannibal-3 (MC) Dreadnaught (T) beat Massif (C) with Guided Missile. Time: 14:52. Fatigue: Dreadnaught-3, Massif-2 (ME) Bounty Hunter (C) beat Battering Ram (T) with Ambush. Time: 4:11. Fatigue: none
Winner: Chicago 2-1
Injuries: Dreadnaught has a medium injury and is questionable for next week.
NOTES: With Matter losing in the Opening match, it was the first match loss for Toronto who started 6-0 in matches. Cannibal was involved in a DQ that was not his fault. Matter, who had been dominating most of the match. tossed Cannibal to the floor and went out after him. Matter lost his cool and hit Cannibal with a chair. --- Dreadnaught keeps rolling. Makes you wonder if Paris regrets passing on him when they took Mayhem #1.
Highlight Match of the Week.
Glasgow Rangers (2-0) @ London Red Coats (2-0)
(O) Incredible Badger (L) beat Mad Jester (G) with overhead toss. Time: 10:00. Fatigue: none (MC) Lance At-Las (L) beat King Lear (G) with Martian Manhandler. Time: 6:19. NOTES: Badger was moved down to the Opening match and he got an easy win. He stated he had no problem being in the Opening match if that will help London keep winning. --- By moving Lance At-Las into the Mid-Card we got to see a match between the #3 and #4 first round picks in the past draft. They put on a good match that saw Lance get the W which gave London the win. It was King Lear's first loss in the WWL. --- Terror was frustrated about Glasgow losing and it cost him his focus which cost him the match. He blindly rushed at Star Warrior in the corner and only got the turnbuckle allowing Star Warrior to roll him up for the three.

I kinda want to try this now, except with the GWFZ wrestlers, since those have a massive roster of guys to use.
