It’s very simple, but I’m a simple guy.
I simply add up the combined fatigue tokens and divide by 2. That’s it. And it seems relatively honest when it comes to describing how good the match was. More fatigue tokens usually means more action, more kick outs etc
If I end a match with no tokens, it gets a 1/2 * or if the match ended dramatically (like on one move) I gave it one *.
For matches where more than 10 combined fatigue tokens occur, this would be considered a 5 star MOTY Candidate.
So far, since starting this, I’ve had two of those on my last 5 cards. So far so good.
I’m actually a little ashamed it took me this long to come up w the idea lol
Anyone else do this?

Yeah I use Toasterboys rating system which is very similar, I think a title match adds a star too.
It has worked really well and I really want to do something like the Monday Night Wars and have an average represent the shows TV rating. Then have two feds compete on a night and see which show wins the ratings war.

Interesting. My idea is inspired by Matt and his fed. But I’m not surprised to hear it’s been used before. Seems like a good system so far. I’m keeping an open mind about adding a 1/2 star or star for extraordinary occurrences - major outside interference that results in the finish. We’ll see how it goes. I want to keep it extremely simple.

It's really simple to use and gives a good way to remember epic matches. Sometimes someone performs a lot of good matches but loses and this would be good way to remember them.

I use basically the same system. Add one star for a title match, and half a star for a major grudge match. It has worked very well for me since I started using it a few years ago.

I also use this same rating. Tag matches I divide by 4.
If it's in the Tokyo Dome I add 10 stars.

I think if I was ever to reboot I would do a 'Monday Night Wars' scenario with two maybe three territories battling it out (maybe premiere league soccer it where the top two get to keep the time slot and the third has to be on Tuesday).
Use the ranking system to maybe even develop a simple salary cap. I find the simpler the method the more easy to track and maintain and also keep one interested.
But the rating system if anything I think is a good idea because how many of us do win/loss records and go oh Justice or George Tragos (just throwing names out there) have no wins they suck. But with ratings you may see Tragos is 1-5 but all six matches have been barn burners and you see Tragos has more value than you thought.

I like the system, and I don't strictly do star ratings in my fed, but the one caveat I could see is I've had lots of classic matches with strong narratives that didn't feature a lot of nearfalls. Sort of a reverse Steamboat/Savage. But that may just be an exception.

I use something similar to this. I also use a DUD rating if the match ends in less than five moves. I usually have one of those per card. The dice not lying is a hard thing to follow. In my Early Classics era fed, I'm in July of 2079, guaranteed the Mensans or Silvar has been involved in the most DUD matches.

Not sure if this is a controversial take or not, but I’ve never liked the DUD house rule. I realize that from strictly a gamers perspective - especially if you build up a match and it ends quickly. I get that part. But I see quick matches being similar to quick knockouts in MMA, and often very exciting. In my own fed, Preceptor ended a 4 match winning streak of Olympia in one move. His running dropkick - 3 on L1O6. I popped big time. It was very exciting and in no way a DUD. I gave it one star for the thrilling finish.
