COMET TV and Hungry Spartan Pizza present... September 4, 2022
Rise up and take the power back
It's time the fat cats had a heart attack
You know that their time's coming to an end
We have to unify and watch our flag ascend
So come on!In-Ring Interview: “Always Ready” Matt Cardona * Cardona came to the ring with a sheaf of papers in his hand.
*
Chad Olson asked why Cardona had demanded this interview time—and what he was holding in his hand.
* Cardona: “It’s time for wish number two. Jay White, come on down!”
* White, still on the DL due to a concussion, emerged and got nose to nose with Cardona, who told him to back off.
* Cardona said that if White still wanted a match with him, White would need to sign a “hold harmless” contract.
* This would protect IPW—and Cardona himself—from any damages arising from the match Cardona had arranged.
* White quickly signed the contract, and Cardona called out the opponent he had hand-picked for White…
Non-Title Match: IPW Heavyweight Champion “The Beast” Malice vs. “The Miracle” Jay White
* Matt Cardona joined the commentary team for this match.
* The champion looked at White impassively and offered a small shrug before the two men locked up.
* Incredibly, White managed to score with some forearms that rocked Malice, then hit a missile dropkick and made a cover for a two-count.
* Malice rolled out to the floor to clear his head, and when White followed, the champ drove him head-first into the ringpost.
* The champion planted his opponent with a DDT, then hit a monstrous SPEAR for one…two…point nine!
* As Malice argued with the official about a slow count, White slowly pulled himself to his feet using the ropes.
* Malice turned around and charged at White, who side stepped, and the champion crashed into the corner.
* Half-out himself, White somehow powered Malice up for a KIWI KRUSHER.
* Both men crashed to the mat, but Malice made it to his feet first.
* Cardona left the announce table and climbed up onto the apron, screaming at Malice to finish White off.
* As Malice closed in for the kill and reached down, White caught him with a small package for one…two…three!
WINNER: “The Miracle” Jay White via pinfall (7:17) ***
Post-Match Drama * As soon as the bell rang, White rolled out of the ring and crashed onto the floor, where the referee checked on him.
* Meanwhile, Cardona climbed through the ropes and began berating the champion.
* Malice’s face grew red with anger and his arms tensed up…then Cardona slapped him across the face!
* Realizing his mistake instantly, Cardona ran out of the ring and up the aisle, with the Heavyweight Champion in hot pursuit.
Reno Scum vs. The Closers * Josh Briggs and Adam Thornstowe locked up to start the match.
* Briggs immediately ate a dropkick, dropped to the mat, and slid to his corner to make a tag.
* Mike Verna fared little better, suffering a number of double-team attacks and nearly submitting to Luster the Legend’s LEGEND SHIFTER.
* Thornstowe took over on offense and continued to batter Verna senseless, nearly scoring a pinfall after a fierce double stomp.
* Another quick tag brought Luster back in, and a SCUM STOMP put an end to the Closers’ night.
WINNERS: Reno Scum via pinfall (5:24) *½
In-Ring Interview: … * Chad Olson took center stage to introduce the newest competitor to the ranks of Impact Pro Wrestling.
* Before he could make the introduction, blaring sirens and eerie music heralded the arrival of Death Dealer, who made his way down to the ring.
* Leering angrily and rattling his chain menacingly, he backed Olson into a corner, pointed at himself, then pointed at the timekeeper.
* Death Dealer finally raised his arm, and the solution to the mystery became clear.
* Olson: “So…you want a match…against the new man?”
* Death Dealer nodded slowly.
* Olson: “I don’t know if I can make that hap—”
* Death Dealer took another step towards the ring announcer, and things looked bleak…
No man is ever truly good…
No man is ever truly evil… * Tommy End raced down the ring, dragging an official by the shirt, and slid into the ring to save poor Chad.
Tommy End vs. Death Dealer * Despite Death Dealer’s ominous presence, the IPW newcomer immediately began wearing him down with kicks and palm strikes.
* Death Dealer made a brief comeback, but a roundhouse kick and a brainbuster by End quickly put him back on his heels.
* An OWARI DEATH FOOT STOMP nearly put Death Dealer away, but he was able to get a foot across the bottom rope.
* It mattered little to End, as he waited for his opponent to rise to his feet, then ended the match with another roundhouse kick to the jaw.
WINNER: Tommy End via pinfall (5:11) *
The Wild Cards vs. The Legend Killers (with Howdy Price) * Thom Latimer started the match against Matty Star, but a quick tag brought Sparrow in, and Latimer found himself in trouble.
* Star and Sparrow double teamed Latimer repeatedly but could not keep him in a compromised position.
* Things got out of hand quickly, and while Royce Isaacs and Sparrow exchanged blows in the ring, Star and Latimer spilled out to the floor.
* Latimer and Isaacs got the better of their respective brawls, and the Wild Cards were finally able to make an exchange.
* Isaacs manhandled both Star and—once the Legend Killers were able to make an exchange—Sparrow.
* A gut wrench power bomb put Sparrow down for a two-count, then Isaacs and Latimer began to really beat their opponent down.
* Isaacs locked Sparrow in a full nelson and bridged back into his HUSH MONEY…but Star came in to make the save.
* Star stomped directly on Isaacs’ groin, and the referee immediately called for the bell.
WINNERS: The Wild Cards via disqualification (12:43) *½
Post-Match Drama * With both Isaacs and Sparrow down for the count, Star and Latimer began throwing heavy lumber at each other.
* The fight escalated from there, and when the official tried to break it up, he got shoved down by both wrestlers.
* Venue security swarmed the ring to separate the two men, and order was eventually restored.
Exhibition Match: James Jeffries vs. Ricochet * The two competitors shook hands to start the match.
* A lengthy feeling-out process followed the opening bell, as neither man could manage a sustained advantage.
* Jeffries was the first man to strike heavily with a superkick, then a SLICED BREAD #2 for a two-count.
* Jeffries went for a flying cross body block but was caught in mid-air and power slammed into the mat for two.
* Ricochet put on a high-flying aerial display, but even a CHOCOLATE RAIN was unable to put Jeffries away.
* An attempted 630 SENTON went horribly awry, and Jeffries crawled over to make a cover, earning another two-count.
* A SLICED BREAD #2 put Ricochet down for two-and-a-half, but Jeffries hit the move a second time to finally earn the victory.
WINNER: James Jeffries via pinfall (19:32) *****
Main Event: No-Disqualification Match for the IPW Extreme Championship: Jake Atlas © vs. Tony Deppen * Atlas opened with a series of blistering chops that reddened Deppen’s chest.
* Deppen never recovered from that and wound up taking an LGB-DDT for one…two…kickout!
* The champion brought the violence by tossing his opponent out of the ring, but Deppen got the advantage of the ensuing fight.
* A piledriver onto the arena floor nearly knocked Atlas out, but he managed to pull himself back into the ring.
* Meanwhile, Deppen had been recovering from his earlier beating and immediately hit a RUNNING KNEE STRIKE for a two-count.
* Deppen introduced a chair into the match and lit the champion up with strikes across his back.
* When the challenger went for an unprotected chair shot to the head, Atlas knocked the chair out of his hands and DDT’ed him onto it.
* Battered and bloodied, Atlas was slow to make the cover after the move, and only earned a two-count.
* Though slow to recover, Atlas slowly began to regain momentum with a handspring cutter and a reverse hurricanrana.
* Atlas went for a flying cross body block, but took too long climbing to the top turnbuckle, eating a chair shot on the way down.
* Another RUNNING KNEE STRIKE put Atlas on his back, but he managed to get his shoulder up just before a count of three.
* Atlas dragged himself to his feet, but a FOREARM to the back of his head knocked him out, making the cover elementary.
WINNER and NEW IPW Extreme Champion: Tony Deppen via pinfall (13:47) ****½
