Really fun, well thought out show. Not thrilled with Jeffries beating Ricochet, but I'm confident the outcome would have been different had he connected with his springboard 720 corkscrew somersault moonsault senton splash plancha off the ring post... Sigh.

VERY happy Jake Atlas lost. Him take a running knee strike and a forearm to the back of his head brings me joy unlike any other.

I like that you're using Howdy Price. He reminds me of Boss Hog so I'm hoping you'll bring in Big Duke (of Hazzard) to drive him nuts.

Thank you for the feedback, Slymm ! I am still fine-tuning this style of write-ups; I'm thinking I need to start putting FINISHERS in bold to help them stand out from the rest of the text. Other than that (and that I keep forgetting to tag Chad Olson when he interviews someone), I am pretty satisfied with it.

Jeffries vs. Ricochet was a great match to play out. Just for fun, I ran it eight times using the PBP sim online afterwards. Jeffries won six of the eight matches, so he's definitely got something going on (and the simulator didn't even take his "hometown advantage" rules into account, which are pretty dang strong).

I was a little disappointed to see Atlas lose the title, as I like meaningful title reigns (Atlas held the title for less than a month and had zero successful defenses). However, I'm really pleased with the way the angle is playing out between him and Deppen, and I am glad it will continue.

Deppen uses the tools that brought him to the dance to earn the IPW Extreme Championship... Always think it's kinda cool when a technically oriented wrestler wins a title of this kind... Should be an interesting reign.

Really enjoying the slow burn between Cardona and Jay White... Although I think Cardona made a big mistake by turning Malice into an enemy.

The introduction of 'The End' was dramatically appropriate... Would like to see a rematch between him and the Dealer... Brilliant five-star spectacle by Jefferies and Ricochet as well... A very well crafted card from top to bottom... Nicely done!

Like I told Slymm , I was hoping for a longer reign for Atlas, but Deppen did what he does. Those cards with double-FINISHERS are tricky; I learned that way, way, way back when with Lord Nexus. I already have plans in motion to determine the next contender to Deppen's newly-won title. I hope they do not disappoint.

Cardona vs. White is easily going to win my IPW "Feud of the Year" award for 2022. Cardona still has one wish left before we get to the final act; I just hope their next stories are as entertaining. (White will almost certainly be moving on to challenge Malice, but Cardona has also earned the big man's ire. Triple Threat, maybeso?)

I don't know if Death Dealer will get a rematch against Tommy End. He (Death Dealer) just can't win for me, going 0-5-1 (and the draw was only because of his "hometown advantage" against Davey Boy Smith Jr.). I'm not sure where End will wind up going next; the dice haven't told me.

In-Ring Interview: Excalibur

   * Chad Olson opened the show by welcoming West Coast wrestling legend and IPW’s new color commentator, Excalibur!
   * The masked man was expressing his gratitude to the fans for their warm welcome when The Closers’ theme music interrupted him.
   * Mike Verna did the talking, suggesting that if Excalibur wasn’t too much of a coward, he’d come out of retirement to fight one of them.
   * Excalibur retorted that they already had their hands full tonight, taking on their mortal enemies the Workhorseman in an “anything goes” encounter.
   * Excalibur: “Besides, based on your records, if I came out of retirement, I would just beat you.”
   * Verna took offense—and took a step towards the ring—but Briggs put a hand on his partner’s shoulder and quietly led him back to the locker room.


Six-Man Fray Match: Andrew Palace vs. Danhausen vs. Jake Atlas vs. James Jeffries vs. Petey Williams vs. Sammy Guevara

   * Palace and Atlas started the match, and the action was fast and furious from the opening moments.
   * Petey Williams, Danhausen, James Jeffries, and Sammy Guevara all entered the match (in that order), with no eliminations occurring.
   * Jake Atlas struck gold first, pinning Andrew Palace after his LGB-DDT (16:45).
   * A wild melee ensued and lasted quite some time until Sammy Guevara pinned Danhausen after a 630 SENTON (38:21).
   * The match essentially became two-on-two after that, with Guevara and Williams teaming up against Jeffries and Atlas.
   * The rule breaking tandem proved more effective, as Guevara picked up his second elimination when he pinned Jeffries after a curb stomp (46:43)…
   * …and his third when he immediately pinned Atlas following a reverse hurricanrana (47:02).
   * From there, the partnership dissolved, but Williams had already absorbed so much punishment that he was easy prey for a curb stomp.

WINNER: Sammy Guevara via pinfall (50:17) *****


RJ City vs. The Big Picture

   * RJ City was distracted early as his main rival Death Dealer came out and stood in the aisle, near the ring.
   * With one eye on Death Dealer, City fell prey to a powerful onslaught from his opponent.
   * A Black Hole Slam put the fan favorite down for two, drawing an animated display of frustration from Death Dealer.
   * After reversing an Irish whip into the corner, City scored with a clothesline that left his opponent rocked.
   * City climbed to the top rope, but as the official checked on the Big Picture, Death Dealer snuck up and shoved the fan favorite off the turnbuckle.
   * A THOUSAND WORDS put City on the mat for one…two…and that was all, drawing another angry response from Death Dealer.
   * City rolled out to the floor to catch his breath…and Death Dealer charged, blasting him in the forehead with his chain!
   * The Canadian collapsed in a heap, bleeding from the temple, and the referee called for the bell.

WINNER: RJ City via disqualification (6:53) **½


Ringside Interview: RJ City

   * Incensed by the loss, the Big Picture chased Death Dealer all the way up the aisle and into the locker room.
   * Meanwhile, Chad Olson caught up with RJ City, who was rattled, but still coherent.
   * City said that this beef between himself had Death Dealer had gone on long enough.
   * He laid out a challenge for a one-on-one match on next week’s episode of Uprising.
   * City promised victory in that match; specifically…
   * City: “Death Dealer, you will fall to the man who put the entertainment back in sports entertainment… R…J…Cit…ugh, my head…”


Wes Brisco vs. “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters

   * Masters enjoyed an obvious power advantage and exploited it fully in the opening moments of this match.
   * After scoring a one-count after a power slam, Masters tossed his opponent through the ropes and to the floor.
   * There, he attempted to whip Brisco into the ring steps, only to have the whip reversed and taste the steel himself.
   * After that, the bout was surprisingly one-sided, with Brisco scoring near-falls after a rope-hung DDT and a BRISCO BOMB.
   * After the last kick-out, Brisco transitioned immediately into a figure four leg lock, and Masters struggled mightily just to reach the bottom rope.
   * With a look of disgust, Masters rolled out to the floor and limped back up the aisle, ignoring the official’s count.

WINNER: Wes Brisco via count out (7:46) ***½


Exhibition Match: The Rip City Shooters vs. The Best Friends

   * Wes Barkley an

• d Chuck Taylor locked up to start the match, but after a short flurry by Barkley, Taylor tagged out to his partner.
     * Trent Barretta fared much better against Barkley and continued after his momentum after Barkley tagged in Joshua Bishop.
     * A DUDEBUSTER DDT put Bishop down for two, and Taylor reentered the match.
     * The Best Friends put on an epic display of tag team wrestling, keeping Bishop in the match so long that Barkley charged in to save his partner.
     * A pair of back body drops sent both Shooters tumbling to the floor, and Taylor and Barretta hugged in the middle of the ring to a thunderous ovation.
     * As the Best Friends soaked in the crowd’s accolades, Barkley snuck up from behind and rolled Baretta up with a schoolboy for two.
     * Taylor immediately struck with a superkick and covered Barkley while Baretta slid out of the ring.
     * Seeing that the referee had lost track of who was legal, Bishop flew into the ring and planted Taylor with a DDT.
     * Bishop rolled Barkley on top of Taylor, who kicked out at the official’s count of two.
     * Bishop and Barkley proceeded to double team Taylor brutally, culminating in a CRUCIFIX POWER BOMB from Bishop.
     * Baretta made it into the ring to break up the pinfall but ate a Mafia Kick from Barkley for his trouble.
     * Taylor—bleeding from a split lip—struggled to his feet, ducked under a clothesline from Bishop, and countered with a superkick.
     * An AWFUL WAFFLE followed, and Baretta intercepted Barkley as the referee counted three.
  
  WINNERS: The Best Friends via pinfall (18:44) ****
  
  
  Andrew Everett vs. Tim Donst
  
     * Donst came out of the gates strong, beating his opponent all over the ring before hitting a quick SDT.
     * Everett immediately rolled into the ropes to avoid the pinfall, but Donst grabbed his ankle and dragged him back to the center of the ring.
     * A second SDT followed, and Donst claimed victory in near-record time.
  
  WINNER: Tim Donst via pinfall (2:36) ½
  
  
  Anything Goes Match: The Workhorsemen vs. The Closers
  
     * Mike Verna locked up with Anthony Henry to start this match and found himself in trouble immediately.
     * Brisk tags and high-impact offense made it look like the Closers would be having an early night.
     * A desperation low blow gave Verna some breathing room and allowed him to tag in Josh Briggs.
     * Briggs glowered angrily at his partner upon being tagged in so quickly, and that momentary distraction allowed Henry to tag in James Drake.
     * The “hoss fight” that followed was ferocious, but Drake steadily wore Briggs down.
     * A rake of the eyes created enough separation for Briggs to tag a not-quite-rested-yet Verna back into the ring.
     * A MOONSAULT from Drake nearly put Verna away, but he managed to grab the bottom rope and drag himself out to the floor.
     * The resulting brawl spilled into the crowd and sent fans scurrying for cover.
     * Verna managed to overpower his stronger opponent and set him up on the timekeeper’s table before climbing to the top rope…
     * …for a senton bomb that missed the mark entirely as Drake rolled off the table and Verna crashed and burned.
     * Verna, bleeding from several cuts on his back, ate a KUDO DRIVER from Henry, but Briggs broke up the cover.
     * Staggered, Henry unwisely climbed to the top rope and went for a flying splash, but Verna rolled out of the way.
     * Henry hit hard, and Verna draped an arm across his chest.
     * James Drake charged into the ring, straight into a big boot from Josh Briggs, as the referee counted three.
