I like the idea of Galacticon having a virtual component It gives people that cannot travel to the event access. Game editions (digital and physical), in my humble opinion, should be released at the same time on Galicticon weekend. The George Tregos Hall of Fame and legends are made for each other. LOW and of course the GWF can gain a lot of new fans from the Hall of Fame event. I agree that FG has concentrated more on their LOW products, but that is understandable.

He must have moved onto the hall of fame after he was done with the baseball field...hmm now that I think of it who would not want to come and see wrestlers of the past in their prime wrestle. Wooah Field of Dreams sequel - Mat of Dreams. Book it Hollywood! Yea but they were prejudiced against Ty Cobb  nobody wanted to play with him. Based on what I've read about Ty Cobb he was one of the biggest bastards to ever walk the earth so it's understandable why they would exclude him. Great baseball player though. One of the best ever. |

My main takeaway: I definitely don't want the Con to be attached to the HOF or indeed any other event every single year. But I have wanted to check out the Waterloo HOF ceremony at least as a one-time thing and I hope I can swing it next year. So no complaints from me about at least trying this out.
From a purely selfish standpoint...Waterloo's a bit trickier to get to from Central Ohio than Cleveland (duh), Chicago, Jamestown, or indeed Philly. Still have to figure out if I want to brave a 10-hour car ride or splurge for a flight in.

I am looking forward to Galacticon being in Waterloo next Summer. If I get eliminated in a tournament early as usual, I am going to Doughy Joeys to get one of their awesome sandwiches.
In 2024, I need to spend more time in Buffalo than I did in 2017 when Galacticon was last in Jamestown. I need to check out Niagara Falls and after Galacticon is over I might go to Toronto where I have never been (except for the airport for connecting flights.)

I definitely will agree some breakout rooms would be good especially after tournaments are done. It's weird you start with talking, and then the last three hours you have to sit in silence. It's why things like Game Night are fun because yes we have some matches, but a lot of it is just talking the game and wrestling in general.

As a Filthy online player I just want the damn death jump chart fixed! I’ve given up on getting 2115-2118 eventually because I’m going to get it soon! (Get it? They tell us we’re going to get it soon because eventually and soon mean the same thing when it comes to online). But I got enough to play so it’s nothing major. Just fix the chart. Seriously

Still have to figure out if I want to brave a 10-hour car ride or splurge for a flight in. I drove from Buffalo for the first time last year. Spent the night at a hotel just past Chicago. It's actually a fairly straightforward route from Western NY. Wasn't a bad drive at all, other than some construction slowdowns. |

Don't think I'll be able to make it but I love the idea of GalactiCon & the HOF together. I've been to 4 GalactiCon's in person (3 in Jamestown & the 1 in Cleveland). Despite just getting over pneumonia at the time and still feeling a bit rough, I enjoyed Cleveland the most though. Tournament Master does "Jamestown/Buffalo" mean the event may possibly take place closer to Buffalo and not actually in Jamestown itself or just putting that way for newer people who have no idea where the hell Jamestown is? Only asking since I live in Buffalo... and also work at a brewery in downtown Buffalo that I may be able to supply a decent amount of beer for (or even get to make a special GalactiCon beer) |

Or could get real fancy (and a little costly) and could get our label makers to make up some GalactiCon labels for like 5-10 cases. That'd just be an existing beer we'd throw the labels on though. |
