Tell me more! With enough notice I could make a small batch and keg any kind of beer we'd want. Or could get real fancy (and a little costly) and could get our label makers to make up some GalactiCon labels for like 5-10 cases. That'd just be an existing beer we'd throw the labels on though. I am all in on this! I need to figure out logistics still and it is a ways away. However, what I envision is that Friday we do some activities in the Buffalo area, namely get a group outing at Destroyer Park Golf. Then afterwards do some kind of meal, which I figured would either be Ilio DiPaolos or your brewery...maybe both. Saturday/Sunday we host the con proper in Jamestown if we can find a good spot that will allow us.

I have been to Galacticon in person 5 times. The first time was the last year that the Saturday dinner was in the evening at Tom's house. The last time was the last year we had it at the Sheldon House. For years I couldn't get there because of work and the fact that I was living in TN, SC, and GA. One thing I have noticed both being there and following the announcements of the program is that the tournaments are all planned. At some of the conventions I got to attend, promoters brought their own tournament plans with them and tried to get people to join them. I did it one year, but when I mentioned doing it again, I was told that there were planned tournaments and there would be no time for people to join mine if they wanted to play in the scheduled tournaments. Maybe the solution would be to make the planned tournaments smaller, less places. I noticed in watching the Kickoff virtual convention that they didn't always have enough people signed up in advance and had to solicit people as the tournament was starting. Just a thought.
Someone earlier mentioned that they would be in an old folks home by the time 2119 reimagined came out. When 2088 reimagined came out, I did the math, and at one a year, I would be between 99 and 101 before we got to 2119, so I'll either be dead or I'll be the really old man sitting besides him drooling on myself and trying to remember my name.
I really wish Tom could get to the convention in person again. He could bring us a box of Leslie's brownies.
Just my rambling. Ignore it if you like.

You can rent it as a place to stay, but would need to get permission to have an event there. That is obviously the first choice, but if they do not allow us to have the con there we will have to find another spot. I am pretty confident it will work out.

I really wish Tom could get to the convention in person again. I hope he can as well. No guarantees in 2023, but he is planning to be there in Jamestown in 2024.

I'd just like to point out that I've never been to an in-person GCON, and probably will never go, as I'm not a big fan of gatherings of more than one or two other people...but I've NEVER felt the "cliques" or anything else that some people have mentioned in various places. I came in, I inserted myself into things (in what I would like to think is a positive and friendly way), started conversations, and I tried to offer things to the community outside of my attendance at GCON, and I feel like I managed to "get over" with most of the regulars despite not being a part of the regular GCON group. It's really just a matter of getting out what you put in rather than having to put in specific things. Just my .02 on that particular aspect of this matter.

Totally selfishly, since I'm in the southwest as well as Tom, maybe we should do a "Southwest" GCON. I'm still not sure if I'd attend due to the amount of people and my aversion to groups, but I'd certainly be tempted.

Don't think I'll be able to make it but I love the idea of GalactiCon & the HOF together. I've been to 4 GalactiCon's in person (3 in Jamestown & the 1 in Cleveland). Despite just getting over pneumonia at the time and still feeling a bit rough, I enjoyed Cleveland the most though. Tournament Master does "Jamestown/Buffalo" mean the event may possibly take place closer to Buffalo and not actually in Jamestown itself or just putting that way for newer people who have no idea where the hell Jamestown is? Only asking since I live in Buffalo... and also work at a brewery in downtown Buffalo that I may be able to supply a decent amount of beer for (or even get to make a special GalactiCon beer) I like beer. I’m in.
