I also try to write up my match results right after rolling (digitally). If I don't, there's a good change I will forget everything about the match. I try to include some of the more exciting things that happened in the match but to not get TOO long-winded.

I've been under the weather this past week and haven't had the chance to play--let alone even think about the game. Now that I'm better, I thought of something that I'm not sure if its been discussed before or not: How do you go about actually writing your fed results? I play a match, and then write the results of that match before playing the next match. Is that the way most people do it, or do some of you make notes as you're playing and wait until after you play all the matches to write the results? I write them up as I play. I mostly just record the things that incur tokens and out of the ring action. I've tried various other ways to do it over the years but this works best for me. Writing it up after the fact does not work for me.

So I recently played my first match with the World of Sport rules in the new Ringside Companion and I liked it quite a bit. Now I'm thinking about doing an experimental side fed at some point. I'd use the vintage charts and have four matches per card. First match is allotted four rounds, second match 6 rounds, third match 8 rounds, and fourth match 10 rounds. I don't think I'd want to play more than 12 shows a year like this, though.

Gunslinger, I think combining the vintage charts with the World of Sport Rules is a great idea! That would be fine to have a British-style fed with those rules as a side fed.

I use Johnny Saint in my Vintage Territory, and had him compete in World Of Sport Rules Matches with the Vintage charts. He had a match with Frank Gotch, who could have been disqualified for bad sportsmanship, but John Pesek distracted the referee. When Saint decided to fight fire with fire, the referee disqualified Saint for bad sportsmanship!

The extra countouts really work nicely for British style matches.

So how do you determine outside interference from non teammates in a match. I recently was having a match between the Midnight Express and the Kings of Wrestling who had never faced each other but I ended up with a quick double disqualification. In this case, I put two teams the Express were having battles (Bulldogs, Bodies) getting involved but also going for the Kings for being interlopers in the feuds.

This is another interesting topic... Especially considering what recently happened during a match between Hackenschmidt and Gotch in my American Showdown fed... Since I got tired of trying to figure out when/if a run-in should take place, I created a house rule that would take the decision completely out of my hands... Anytime a wrestler is finished (pin or submission) on a roll of doubles, it triggers an automatic roll on the wrestler interference chart which I consider a surprise run-in... This can only happen once per match and ONLY if the wrestler involved hasn't already used some kind of interference roll earlier in the match (not counting pin saves)... At that point, it's on the promoter to figure out WHO executes the run-in and WHY!
As a side note... Unless the interference directly affects the outcome of the match or is going to result in a storyline of some kind, I usually won't bother making it a part of the match summary... Just trying to keep things as simple as possible.

Great discussion topick Gunslinger Tracking Time: My current One Week in Ontario fed works in “real time” in that I assign actual dates to the cards. I have my booking spreadsheet set up with “The Loop” which consists of the Maple Leaf Gardens major show, one television taping, and the balance of the week with house show events. My Canadian Heavyweight Title and Canadian Open Tag Team Titles are defended at MLG with title defenses being rotated through-out the house show events. I currently don’t build towards the Maple Leaf Gardens show necessarily because my roster tends to change frequently (I roll two dice when a wrestling starts to determine the number of events he will be around for). So feuds can be blown off at any event depending how long the competitors are going to be around. I am currently considering changing that so that the same 24 competitors will be around for the entire week tour of the territory so the Maple Leaf Gardens show will be the must see event for blowing off major feuds and the really big title defenses. Rankings: I used to track rankings very tightly but that became too much work. I know book my title matches based on who I want to see go after the belts. I do take recent performances into account. The idea of the three wins in a row = a title shot is fun and you can feed jobbers at a contender to get the three wins. However, you can also go a long time waiting for a challenger to emerge. Disqualifications: I take then as they come. To me it just means a rematch down the road and a potential organic feud. Number of Titles: I am currently running a major singles and a tag team championship. There will be a women’s title added at some point as well. Question: How does everyone book the legendary ladies?Work v. Shoot: Nothing is predetermined in my fed I do not re-rolls. The dice decide it all. Bootlegs: I do not use them Title Shots: I usually follow the one and done path unless the match was nuts or had some controversial turn to it. As an example the Sheepherders gave the Road Warriors all they could handle recently but did not leave with the gold but I had the Sheepherders take out Ellering with a Battering Ram after the bell leading to another match down the road. Result Write Up: For my One Week in Ontario fed I roll out the entire match and then immediately write up the action. For the annual legend’s tournament, I write up the action as I am rolling. I stop every ten rolls or after a major move or pin attempt to note what is happening.
