I want to start playing again with an 80s fed operated by random match-making. No planning, no stories, just matches selected at random.
If I enjoy it I want to do the same with an indies fed.

Book on the fly is the only way I can do it. Just like I can't have cards in the can. I run them and I post them or they never get posted.

I do a 52-week TV show fed with quarterly pay-per-views every 13 weeks.

I used to keep shows in the can in the event I wouldn't have time to play. Now I work from home so I have quite a few cards already written up. I don't want to flood the board with them, though. 2-3 a day is plenty.

I have, in all my feds run 24 card/event seasons (each new set kinda signify a season).
It started in my GWF way back in the day and crossed over into my LWF & LoTF, then CHIKARA feds.

How many matches per card? I don't know how I arrived at these numbers but I've been doing it for years - 4 matches for a one hour show and 6 matches for a 2 hour show. 8 for a three hour PPV but six is about as many matches as I want to play in one sitting.

I stopped booking and just started setting matches based on the rolled results. At the end of the day, I want the game to somewhat dictate what direction I go in. I feel like if I try to book something for the future then I have to control the outcome and that kind of kills the immersion for me. I have results I'd prefer and results I expect, but...if the unexpected happens, the unexpected happens.
Perfect example is what happened with Kurt Angle in one of my feds. He couldn't buy a win. It was a total head-scratcher and I eventually just had him leave the territory pissed off about how he fared. Had him come back some time later and interfere in a bunch of matches to get easy heat with the faces and constantly rolling for a feud each time he did it. When a roll finally hit doubles (see I let the game dictate when there was the actual feud) he went on this tear and started winning a bunch. Had a booked angle to be a top guy and he kept losing, I feel like I would have forced Angle to win and then what point does rolling the match mean. It's like when WWE has consequences for a match and it's like they're forgotten the morning after the blowoff match at a PPV.

That's a neat idea. Do you just use the new expansion cards in a season by themselves? Or do you add the expansion cards to a current fed? I guess what I'm asking is do you run your fed kind of like an Anthology? New set, new stories, new wrestlers, new season, etc. or just new season and add into the existing fed?

When LOW first started I dated my shows with the game year that the GWF was in at the time. That way I'm not worried about keeping up in real time. Most of my feds run one tv show per week, each fed has some of their own ppvs and then on the calendar are NWA ppvs with all territories involved.

I add on with expansions with Legends, CHIKARA , etc. I add or subtract per storyline with CotG.
