jobber83 - I had a secondary title for a while but you got to cash it in for a title shot after 7 successful defenses. I liked it but I kept running into problems having viable contenders for it that wouldn't just sidestep it to go for the world title.

I have multiple belts but I'm also running over 200 wrestlers.
Though the City titles I'm using are for an eventual angle I'm planning on running.

Let me say this is a phenomenal thread... I definitely have it bookmarked... And thanks to Gunslinger for getting it started... Long overdue, imo. 1/ Calendar - In the past, I've always tried to incorporate a 'real world' calendar, but I'm letting this slide with my newest Legends project. 2/ Timekeeping - My system involved using the online gameboard log... Each logged entry equaled six seconds. Which meant that 10 entries equaled one minute. And then I would roll 1 die and add that to the length, so all matches wouldn't end on a multiple of six. I haven't bothered with timekeeping in awhile though. 3/ Rankings - I always track wins and losses, but gave up on ranking formulas. Factors like quality of opposition and placement on the card are too difficult to measure, but too important to ignore. So, now I just 'go with my gut' to decide the top contenders. 4/ Number of championships - I LOVE TITLE BELTS! It's that simple. They are driving forces in the majority of my feds and that's why I usually have a fair number of them (along with other prizes like trophies, contracts, etc). I'm constantly amazed by promoters that can limit their fed to just two or three major titles while forsaking all others. Like I told Gunslinger, that displays a lot of restraint and I totally respect that. Keep rolling and keep talking everyone... It's the foundation of this great community. Truth!

I have a gigantic amount of titles! You also use everyone or close to everyone. It's the same reason the Crockets had a ton of belts. They had so much TV they had to.

This is a really great thread!
Regarding titles, at times, I've retired my secondary title(s) for the reasons stated here. I've done it for 2 reasons. Number 1, if this is a "shoot" or something approximating that, in my feeble head why wouldn't everyone want to shoot for the top title? And number 2, when I've done this, its served to almost elevate the tag titles, in that they don't become an afterthought to the singles division. It becomes 2 distinct forms of wrestling: Singles and tag, and the championship of each is something highly desirable.
With that said, its up to you promoter, and whatever brings you the most joy with regards to your fed, by all means do that!!
Great discussion folks, I look forward to more.

Based on several recent remarks, I think this is a pertinent question...
How do you view your fed(s)? Shoot or Work?
I treat all of my feds as a 100% work... So, the fun (for me) is mainly derived from trying to interpret why the bookers (aka the dice) made the choices that they did during each card.

The ring action is 100% shoot but I work some smark terms like "no sell" into the write ups and occasionally add backstage segments and skits and things.

I mean work has to be the case...although it's fun to think it's real, then why do you bother with such complex moves when kicks punches and the like are probably far more effective.
