An ebullient Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon welcome the viewers to VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla. for the debut edition of Monday Night Mayhem. They begin the show recapping last weekend's inaugural supercard where Heenan's charge, Adrian Adonis, claimed the World Championship gold. Heenan is so excited that he even compliments Monsoon on his showing in one of the Battle Royals where he eliminated Hartford Love, Mr. Perfect and Barry Windham before eventual winner Mark Henry tossed him at No. 15. To the action ...
The Sandman vs Mr. Hughes
Much of the action was outside the ring before The Sandman put an end to the festivities when he put down Mr. Hughes with his trusty Singapore Cane.
Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Sheik (with "Classy" Freddie Blassie) vs The Mulkey Brothers
The Sheik ended the match when he put The Camel Cluth on Randy after the Mulkeys had the upperhand for a brief moment against Volkoff.
The Brain welcomes Adrian Adonis ringside and informs Gorilla that "It will be your honor and privilege to call the next match with our World Champion while I'm attending to some family business."
King Kong Bundy (with Bobby Heenan) vs Big Van Vader
Vader was controlling the action until he missed a Moonsault, but he did earn a Pyrrhic victory when Bundy was DQ'd for repeatedly using a steel chair on Vader. After the bell sounded, Heenan Family member Big John Studd rushed the ring and joined in the beatdown of Vader until a host of wrestlers and officials from the back ran down to restore order.
Barry Windham & Tully Blanchard (with J.J. Dillon) vs The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James & "Badd Ass" Billy Gunn)
Windham had the Blackjack Claw locked in on James when Gunn rushed in and tossed aside the ref in an attempt to get Windham to break the hold, handing a DQ victory to Windham & Blanchard.
Backstage, we see Ivory attempting to broker a peace between Mark Henry and D'Lo Brown. After Henry begs for forgiveness, Brown's scowl finally turns to a smile when the big man promises D'Lo that they'll both be wearing tag-team gold next week if they stick together. After a quick cut to The British Bulldogs accepting the challenge, the segment ends with a group hug.
Bruiser Brody vs Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
The ringwalk took longer than the match itself as Snuka was DQ'd for using a steel chair on Brody. Something tells me Brody is going to want to even the score real soon.
The Magnificent Muraco (with Mr. Fuji) vs Hillbilly Jim
The Magnificent One got the 3-count after hitting the Hawaiian Hammer on Hillbilly Jim.
Heenan delcares that the only thing that would make this night better would be if we were joined by royalty and proclaims that he's going to make it happen right now as he excuses himself.
King Harley Race (with Bobby Heenan) vs "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan
The King emerged victorious in a battle of piledrivers, withstanding three from Duggan before ending the match with one of his own.
TV Title Championship -- "The Franchise" Shane Douglas (with Head Cheerleader Francine) (c) vs S.D. Jones
The Franchise retained the title with the Pittsburgh Plunge after a series of suplexes softened up Jones.

Heenan is definitely making great strides towards his Family becoming the most dominant faction in the company... But, I don't think trying to use Vader as an object lesson was very wise... They've picked a fight with a one-man wrecking crew that has a tendency to demolish everything in his path. Yikes!
Looking forward to the Bulldogs defending the tag straps against D'Lo & the WSM... Fun stuff!

Gordon Solie welcomes the viewers to State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Ga. for the debut edition of Friday Night Fury featuring the opening match in the Women's Championship Tournament and headlined by The British Bulldogs' first defense of their tag team belts. To the action ...
Val Venis vs Bob Backlund (with Arnold Skaaland)
Backlund made short work of Venis, putting an end to the contest with a rolling backbridge. In the post-match interview with Solie, Skaaland proclaims that he had his charge ready for anything Val Venis could muster and that he'll do the same with any opponent, but the inverview is cut short when the opening bars of "Perfect Strangers" start playing and TV Champion Shane Douglas strolls down the ramp laughingly mocking the two of them, saying they couldn't even make it out of the first round of the championship tournament, so how could they even think they'd have a chance against him and that he'll gladly prove it to them next week.
The Long Riders ("Wild" Bill Irwin & Scott "Hog" Irwin) vs The Brisco Brothers
Scott was taking it to Jerry early on and went for a quick cover after hitting a suplex that netted just a 1-count, before the Briscos turned the tide. Following a double tackle of Scott, Jerry locked in the figure four on Scott while Jack kept Bill at bay, earning the tap-out victory.
"Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant (with Captain Lou Albano) vs Sgt. Slaughter
The Boogie Woogie Man almost got a quick win when he sidestepped a charging Slaughter and the big marine crashed into the ringpost. Valiant landed some roundhouse punches and the Boogie Woogie Elbow, but couldn't put away Slaughter before the action moved outside the ring where a frustrated Valiant got himself DQ'd after repeatedly slamming Sarge into the ringside steps.
Women's Championship Tournament -- Quarterfinal #1 -- The Fabulous Moolah (with Captain Lou Albano) vs Molly Holly
Moolah reversed a back-body drop attempt, nailing a piledriver and then the Jacknife Cradle for an easy victory to advance to the semifinals.
Bruiser Brody vs Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka -- No Countouts, No Disqualifications
Before the opening bell, Solie interviews a fired-up Brody who promises to make Snuka pay for last week's attack but it was Superfly who controlled the action early on before the match spilled outside the ring for an extended period. Brody scored the win with a Jumping Knee Drop after Snuka missed a running shoulder dive.
Big Van Vader calls out The Heenan Family saying that none of them have the balls to challenge him on their own and that they know where to find him if they ever summon up the intestinal fortitude to try. An incensed Big John Studd storms out as Bobby "The Brain" Heenan tries (in vain) to hold him back, and it's on.
Big Van Vader vs Big John Studd (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan)
Vader was ready for the big man's charge and nailed a Vader Bomb, but Studd survived. The Brain slipped a foreign object to his man, but Vader was able to wrest it free before Studd could do much damage with it. A running body avalanche followed by a Moonsault put away Studd and Vader screamed for a match with the champion, Adrian Adonis.
Kurt Angle vs Sam Houston
Angle squashed Houston with the Olympic Slam.
Tag Team Championship -- The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & The Dynamite Kid) (c) vs Mark Henry & D'Lo Brown (with Ivory)
Davey Boy kicked out after a pair of World's Strongest Man Slams by Henry, but the champs never seemed comfortable and we have new Tag Team Champions after Brown put away The Dynamite Kid with back-to-back Lo Downs, sparking a wild celebration in the ring.

A minor upset and we've got new tag champs... Got me thinking that the Bulldogs are either leaving the territory or the bookers are preparing to split them up... Great storytelling potential with this main event outcome, imo... Can't wait to see what happens next.
Vader tears through Big John and now he wants Adonis... Which spells trouble for the champ... Bruiser vs. Superfly was as wild as expected - an intense feud taking shape... And I'm stoked for Backlund to challenge Douglas... Fun times!

I figured it was going to lead to a Henry-Brown feud after Henry couldn't deliver on his promise -- with a side-dose of Ivory vs Melina mixed in after their split. I'm probably not going to write off the Bulldogs just yet, but I haven't decided what's next for them.

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon welcome the viewers to T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo. for this week's edition of Monday Night Mayhem. Gorilla begins the show needling Heenan about his Vader problem while The Brain retorts that Vader will get his when his boys have time to prepare unlike last Friday night's impromptu match. To the action ...
Al Snow vs Rob Van Dam (with Bill Alfonso)
Van Dam really was "The Whole F'n Show," never giving Snow any chance to mount a sustained attack. The end came after Van Dam hit an enziguri, hurricanrana and standing moonsault in succession to put away the overwhelmed Snow.
Pat Patterson vs Johnny Rodz
An airplane spin by Patterson followed by the Boston Crab had Rodz tapping out after just 3 moves.
Women's Quarterfinal #2 -- Ivory (with new Tag Team Champions Mark Henry & D'Lo Brown) vs Sensational Sherri
Not to be outdone, Sherri squashed Ivory in just 2 moves, putting an end to the festivities with a back drop followed by a Top Rope Splash.
Barry Windham & Tully Blanchard (with J.J. Dillon) vs The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James & "Badd Ass" Billy Gunn)
These teams clearly don't like each other and the action quickly devolved into a wild Pier 6 brawl outside the ring and continued up the ramp as the bell sounded for a double countout.
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper (with Cowboy Bob Orton, Jr.) vs Koko B. Ware
Piper reversed Ware's arm drag attempt, hitting a knee lift and a Bulldog to score the win.
George "The Animal" Steele vs The Magnificent Muraco (with Mr. Fuji)
The Magnificent One required four consecutive Hawaiian Hammers (a 1-in-1,296 possibility) to put away The Animal.
"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (with Virgil) vs "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig
DiBiase seemed to be cruising to a win when Hennig surprised him with the Perfect Plex for the 3-count and quickly escaped out the other side of the ring before Virgil and an enraged/embarassed Million Dollar Man could exact their revenge.
The Road Warriors (with Paul Ellering) vs The Dream Team (Greg "The Hammer" Valentine & Brutus Beefcake with "Luscious" Johnny Valiant)
Animal fought his way to the ropes after getting caught in an early Figure Four Leglock from Valentine and twice had to kick out of cover attempts as The Dream Team was rolling early on. Alas, the Legion of Doom responded in emphatic fashion and Luscious Johnny had to save Beefcake from a 3-count by distracting the ref after he was caught in the Doomsday Device, but The Hammer wasn't as fortunate after he was nearly decapitated by a second Doomsday Device and the LOD took the first step in rebuilding their fearsome reputation.

Friday Night Fury - Target Center (Minneapolis, Minn.) - Jan. 27, 2023
Gordon Solie welcomes the viewers to Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn. for Friday Night Fury and highlights the card that features The Heenan Family's World Champion Adrian Adonis making his first in-ring appearance since claiming the title, King Kong Bundy in action, King Harley Race vs Big Van Vader and a main event with "The Franchise" Shane Douglas' second defense of his belt vs hometown-favorite Bob Backlund. Solie then welcomes The Brain and Adonis to the set where his questions about their Vader problem gets Adonis all riled up and he abruptly cuts the interview short and storms the ring.
Non-title match -- Adrian Adonis (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) (c) vs Jake "The Milkman" Milliman
The fired-up Adonis nearly ended the match on the initial roll with a gutwrench backbreaker, but Milliman kicked out at 2 3/4 before the end came via Goodnight Irene a few moments later.
Women's Quarterfinal #3 -- Trish Stratus vs Leilani Kai (with "Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart)
This was basically a handicap match as Hart was quite involved from the outset, though not everything worked as planned (he inadvertently hit Kai with his megaphone while breaking up a pin attempt) but his constant yammering did get to Stratus and she chased him around the ring rather than going for the cover after hitting her Stratusfaction. Stratus paid dearly for her loss of concentration and Kai scored the upset victory after hitting a Running Splash after a battle outside the ring.
Following the match, Sensational Sherri hit the runaway and promised Kai that she won't be so lucky in the semifinals next week.
Cowboy Bob Orton, Jr. (with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper) vs S.D. Jones
Philadelphia's favorite son was on fire at the opening bell, unleashing his shuffle and big punches to take down Orton, but things took a turn for the worse when Jones was tossed out of the ring into the eager arms of "Rowdy" Roddy who smashed him into the ringside steps before rolling him back into the ring where Cowboy delivered the Orton Bomb for the 1-2-3.
Tony Garea & Larry Zbyszko vs The Love Brothers
After Zbyszko hit a vertical suplex on "Horrible" Hartford, "Rotten" Reginald tossed the ref aside while attempting to break the pin attempt and handed a DQ victory to Garea & Zbyszko.
King Kong Bundy (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) vs Sam Houston
Houston hit an early bulldog that really pissed off the "walking condominium." Bundy punished Houston with a variety of high-impact moves before getting DQ'd for driving Houston through the announcers' table with a Big Splash.
"Macho Man" Randy Savage vs "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan
Savage made short work of Duggan, earning the victory with a neckbreaker clothesline followed by his patented Big Elbow Smash.
King Harley Race (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) vs Big Van Vader
Pre-match, Solie was interviewing Race and Heenan when Vader blasted them from behind and then dragged Race into the ring. A shaken, limping Brain looked really concerned in the early going until The King turned the tide with a vertical suplex, two flying clotheslines and a piledriver to score the victory. Big John Studd, Bundy & Adonis all hit the ring and proceeded to stomp a mudhole in Vader as Heenan was on his knees with his face inches from Vader's screaming at him before Garea and Zbyszko rushed in to make the save.
TV Championship -- "The Franchise" Shane Douglas (with "Head Cheerleader" Francine) vs Bob Backlund (with Arnold Skaaland)
In an early candidate for match of the year, The Franchise (4 tokens) retained his title with a lot of help from Francine. Skaaland had Backlund (7 tokens) dialed-in for this encounter with his intense training making Backlund's already deadly Atomic Drop finisher even more potent for this encounter. The local hero twice hit the Atomic Drop during the match, but Francine distracted the ref after the first one and draped Douglas' foot on the bottom rope after the second one to save her man's belt. Douglas landed several belly-to-belly suplexes and multiple Pittsburgh Plunges during the match, but the resilient Backlund kicked out each time. The action spilled outside the ring a few times with The Franchise getting the best of the out-of-ring exchanges, driving Backlund into the steps and, later, the ringside barricades. Just when it looked like we were going to have a new champion after Backlund hit a flying cross-body block, Douglas rolled through and reversed the pin attempt, scoring the fall with the aid of a handful of tights, much to the dismay of the capacity crowd.

Monday Night Mayhem -- Climate Pledge Arena (Seattle, Wash.) -- Jan. 30, 2023
Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan (on crutches and sporting a neck brace) welcome the viewers to Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Wash. for this week's edition of Monday Night Mayhem. An irate Heenan promises Vader that the worst is yet to come and that those no good, meddling fools Tony Garea & Larry Zbyszko have stirred up a hornet's nest. Gorilla comments that Heenan was moving just fine when he hightailed it out of the ring after the beatdown of Vader and wonders "what's with the neck brace and crutches?" as Heenan stares daggers at him. To the action ...
Mr. Hughes vs George South
Hughes squashed South with the Spike Slam then comes over to the announcers' table where The Brain informs everyone that Hughes is his new Bodyguard while Gorilla shakes his head in disbelief.
Sgt. Slaughter vs Val Venis
In a back-and-forth affair, Slaughter scored the pin after a series of throat drops on the top ropes left Venis writhing in agony, gasping for air.
Women's Quarterfinal #4 -- Rockin' Robin vs Judy Martin (with "Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart)
Rockin' Robin had little difficulty getting past Martin despite Hart's best efforts to intervene, ending the contest with a Flying Bulldog.
The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & "Jumping" Jim Brunzell vs The Dream Team (Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and Brutus Beefcake with "Luscious" Johnny Valiant)
The Bees were disqualified in their DCWF debut after Brunzell smashed Beefcake through the announcers' table which also drew the ire of the menacing Mr. Hughes who took a few steps towards Brunzell before The Brain stopped him saying that he isn't worth our while.
Big John Studd (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan helped ringside by Mr. Hughes) vs Hillbilly Jim
Studd was manhandling Hillybilly Jim when Heenan decided that it wasn't enough and ordered Mr. Hughes to throw a chair to Studd who proceeded to bust Jim open with it, earning the DQ.
A disgusted Gorilla is just flabbergasted by The Brain's actions, but Heenan pays him no mind as he hobbles back to the rebuilt announcers' table and tells Monsoon that he's feeling better already.
The Road Warriors (with Paul Ellering) vs Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito (with Captain Lou Albano)
In a wild affair that saw Captain Lou ordered back to the lockerroom mid-match, The Legion of Doom emerged victorious after Fuji was caught throwing salt in Animal's eyes.
Kurt Angle vs The Sandman
The Olympic Hero's mat prowess was on full display as he forced the tough Sandman to tap out to an Anklelock.
Texas Tornado Match -- Barry Windham & Tully Blanchard (with J.J. Dillon) vs The New Age Outlaws
Since their first two matches ended in wild brawls, I figured why not put them all in the ring together and let them have at it ... and did they ever with near-falls aplenty and 17 combined fatigue tokens accumulated before the Outlaws emerged victorious after Gunn powerslammed Windham for the 3-count while Blanchard and James were battling on the arena floor.
