The Briscoe Brothers are my favorite tag team. Jay Briscoe is one of my favorite wrestlers, and I liked him very much as a person, too. He was big on being a great dad, coached football for his son….just one of those guys who had it all figured out and did it all right.
I had a conversation with Jay once (he was signing his card for me) about wrestling in WWE around a time there were rumors of them going there. Its a huge loss for wrestling fans everywhere that this never happened. I have long stood by the stance that had the Briscoe Bros come up in the NWA or WWF that they’d easily be considered to be one of the GOAT tag team. I think they’re top 5 regardless. Probably the two greatest & most influential indi wrestlers of all-time.
Most FG fans will remember that the Briscoe Brothers were the very first ROH cards we produced. They were a special 2 pack that preceded the ROH box set. They were first for a reason. Because they were the best.
Prayers for his kids.

When I found out Impact was coming here last May for a set of tapings over the weekend I immediately got tickets for my friend and I. Had no idea who would be on the shows and didn't care, it was wrestling! When we found out the BRISCOES (my favorite tag team in the past 20 or so years) were going to be there, I was super hyped! Once we got to the venue (Osceola Heritage Park) we see of all people, the Briscoes are doing a meet and greet. Hell yea, sign me up. We wait for a bit before we finally meet Jay & Mark, but with my buddy in a wheelchair, there just wasn't much room to maneuver in order to get behind the tables that were set up for the photo. I told Jay, bro we can take it out here it's all good. Immediately he's like aww naw F that and starts moving all the chairs, merch boxes, you name it in order to make room for us. We get our pic and chat for several minutes as we were the last ones in line and they could not have been any more friendly, patient or down to earth. I had met them once before and they were exactly how I remembered them (albeit a bit hairier lol). Fast forward to showtime and their music hits for their match and it was amazing to see them flip the switch from these two soft spoken, humble guys to these wild, energetic maniacs. Talk about intensity, when Jay dapped me up at ringside I thought he broke my hand. They ended up defeating Jay White & Chris Bey in the match and they were amazing as always. After the show, my buddy and I were outside waiting for our ride which took FOREVER, when who comes out the front doors of the arena? Jay & Mark! Pulling their luggage behind them they see us and their eyes lit up and they asked if we enjoyed the show. I said of course you guys are awesome before telling them how much we appreciated them taking the time for us earlier. They both smiled before Jay said "ain't no thang" and they shook our hands and thanked us for coming. They walked off into the literal darkness of Highway 192 (the main road that runs through Kissimmee) before I yelled out "where y'all going anyways???!!" Jay hollered back, "the liquor store!" 😂 The shows that weekend were a lot of fun, but it was the Briscoes who stood out. Not their match (although it was fantastic), but the way they treated not just us, but everyone. So much so that I tweeted about it later that night and tagged Jay. He ended up liking the tweet which made me happy to know that he saw the impact (no pun intended) he and his brother made by just being themselves. Real, down to earth, good hearted guys. I will never forget that. I pray for Mark, Jay's wife Ashley, their kids, and the rest of the family. This really is a huge loss. REACH FOR THE SKY! RIP Jay 🙏

Warner Brothers Discovery would not allow AEW to run a Jay Briscoe tribute event on their networks.
Tony Khan will be going ahead with multiple tributes to Briscoe that wont air on TNT or TBS. The first of which was an ROH Celebration of Life event taped after Rampage in Fresno.
The very first episode of ROH's new weekly TV show will also feature tributes to Briscoe and Supercard of Honor will be dedicated to the fallen legend as well.
This is because of what the Briscoes said about gays back in 2013

I got to meet Jay & Mark Briscoe at an ROH show, and they were both very nice.
My friend had a homemade Jay Briscoe shirt, and he thought it was cool. He even came out after the show to autograph it.
There will never be another tag team like Dem Boys.

Some cool stories about Jay, and Mark too, being shared. Only thing I have is the first time I saw them live, or at all if I am recalling right, was when they beat Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. It was their 3rd time with the belts. I became a fan then and always enjoyed their work. Was happy having them in the game and recently had them debut in my ECW. It is going to be hard playing them but I will as they will live forever in my feds.

Tonight I bought the new Reach for the Sky 1984-2023 Jay Briscoe shirt from Pro Wrestling Tees in which 100% of the proceeds go to benefit the family of Jay Briscoe. I plan to wear this shirt when I go to ROH's Supercard of Honor in Los Angeles during Mania Weekend and I expect there will be alot these shirts in the crowd for that show.
