- Vegas (I think he signed everyone in the arena Friday night, he's incredible to watch!) lol, on Friday I signed two of the three Indie names that Mike and Cory asked me to talk to about the game. The third is thinking it over and said he will talk about it with his wife and talk to us next month at the CAC. Last night at the hotel bar, he saw me and yelled "Zeke!" and gave me a thumbs up, so it looks promising. glad you made the trip KB!

Highlights included watching Vegas not recognize The Golden God Bryce Jordyn when he got Sage and Briar Hale to sign his IPW II cards as they were all sitting at the same table. In his defense, Bryce was wearing a hat. Yes, Barry has reminded me of this all weekend. Our group sat down for the Thursday night wrestling trivia contest and I immediately noticed the Hale twins sitting right next to me at the table to my right so I asked them to sign my copy of their cards. I did not scan the other faces at that table (or else I would have noticed Bryce sitting there too) which was in the dark crowded back of the bar and Bryce was wearing a hat which can make somebody a little less immediately recognizable (especially in the dark.) Barry, I do want to commend you on your weight loss. Also thank you for bringing me those Wisconsin beers (you have excellent taste in alcohol) and please tell your wife I said thank you for her getting me those socks I needed when she went shopping at Target in Waterloo. I will see you next year in Jamestown my friend.

Also, I will post my own full recap later this week (my recaps tend to be long and tonight I have to unpack and get ready for my annual attendance at the 4 day Silver State AP Summit which starts tomorrow morning across town. But quickly I want to say thank you to Thomas (TK) for driving me around Omaha on Wednesday, for driving me from Omaha to Waterloo on Thursday, and for driving me from Waterloo to Des Moines today so I could catch my flight home to Las Vegas (via Denver.) Today I asked TK for his PayPal address so I could give him some gas money, but he said that was not necessary. That was very generous of TK! We had great pizza for lunch in Omaha on Wednesday and then (along with hexxstar- good to see him again too!) on Thursday we also had great pizza in Des Moines (on the way to Waterloo.) The pizza place in Des Moines had a great deal, buy an alcoholic drink and get a big free slice of pizza. I bought a Bud Light and got a free slice of Hamburger Helper pizza (sausage and macaroni and cheese) and it was delicious! My total bill came out to be $3.29 so I gave the waitress a $5 bill and told her to keep the rest as a tip. Once again, thank you TK!

And last year, at least for in person I beat Lou Thesz in the semis with Jack Brisco, and beat Bob Backlund in the finals. Meanwhile I had Jack in the Thesz-Tragos Tournament this year and he went out in the first round, suffering a countout loss to Ken Shamrock. Pete, don’t worry. Jack had never won a match for me before that and hasn’t won one since.

I can shuffle the names for the Legends tournament next year, guys. It's totally workable. For me it seems, Vader is always winning it but top guys tend to win.
Anyways, I have too many thoughts about this to post it right now, but will do so later. Such an excellent weekend other than the trip from Chicago to home and I want to personally thank everyone who attended the con and thanks to Todd, Mike, Chad and Troy Peterson (and I'm sure others as well) who put on such a great weekend.

Lou Thesz won the LOW tournament again this year. I feel like he wins the LOW tournament almost every year. I didn’t do any extensive research, but it seems like he’s won the thing 3-4 times at least. Leaves me wondering if we should make a rule that says once a guy wins a GCON tournament of any kind - he’s no longer eligible to be used. We have hundreds of cards and it seems like for many years the sane guys are winning GCON tournaments. Like an auto qualifier for the GCON Cup if you drew Thesz or Monolith. Wondered if anyone else had any thoughts on this or if it’s just me. Like, you should be able to win a LOW tournament with Rude or Hennig. If past winners like Vader and Thesz are in it every year, the chances of seeing that goes way down. Hi Agreeing with the eligibility thing. It makes logical sense! Anyway, hey Swarm: Any guesses as to what the UPGRADE that you mentioned on Siege will actually look like (all jokes aside)? I think I'm the only one that caught that when you said it in chat, haha! Todd C WTIC Yes, the 2140 Siege update will come equipped with the first card mechanic that directly applies to Galacticon tournaments. AETHRAN CRIPPLER (+4) * * In matches vs Kronos wrestlers this is a (+7) finisher. In matches vs Kronos wrestlers during the Galacticon Cup it is a (+10) Add 3 finisher.

Actually this time, Nick Bockwinkel won the LOW tournament. Lou Thesz did make it to the finals Thanks for the correction. I know Thesz was in it and did well, like he always seems to do. Vader and Bock both seem like past winners too. I just think it would get extra interesting if the past winners weren’t included, making way for so many of the other great cards to have the opportunity to win it. Guys like Hansen or even Nikita or Orndorff who were just released. Maybe re-set the field every 3-5 years or something. Same deal w GWF, although we prob should have considered this during the Endgame, Overmaster, Monolith era. Got a whole year to figure it out.

This is the new “Go ask that girl if she likes me.” Mike and Cory acting all cool at the bar while Zeke walks over, introduces himself to the wrestlers. “My friends think you’re a great wrestler and were wondering if you wanted to be in their game.”

I didn't buy a HOF pass of any kind but still had a chance to meet and talk to several wrestlers.
ROCK RIDDLE - helped me eat my pizza Friday. MASKED SUPERSTAR - signed my card and we spoke for several minutes. HAKU - shook my hand, instead of killing me. TOMMY RICH- Shook my hand and talked G.C.W. for a bit in the lobby of hotel. JAMES JEFFRIES - Talked with several us after the show at the hotel. JIMMY VALIANT - Thought Pete Beck was a ventriloquist at breakfast.
GOOD TIMES, that I will never forget!
