THURSDAY - Arrived, got sets and spent night in room reading.

FIRDAY -

* Spent a lot of the morning talking with a fantastic person, Andy (Sinestro24 )
* Roommate Lt Colonial Beck (DK II ) arrived!
* I did the JOB, pin me pay me, in both tournaments I entered. PAR for the course.
* Shared my pizza with ROCK RIDDLE!!! YES, that ROCK RIDDLE.
* IMPACT WRESTLING show was amazing!!!! James Jefferies is such a down to earth nice guy.
* I got my MASKED SUPERSTAR card signed by THE MAN himself and was almost killed by HAKU!!! NO lie! NEVER. repeat NEVER point at HAKU!!!
* mikefortune arrived and insulted me as soon as he saw me, I wouldn't have it any other way
* I met TOMMY RICH at the front desk of the hotel and shook his hand, telling him how much of a fan I was of Georgia Championship wrestling growing up.

SATURDAY -

* DK II and I was in the breakfast line behind JIMMY VALIANT and he thought Pete was a ventriloquist!!! LOL Had to be there...
* I made the FINALS of the CANADA CUP with 2103 JACK OF DIAMONDS but.. got SMACKED in the finals by longtime friend and Oho Con Posse brethren EpicDave !
* In the auction, I won a WCW book, which I gave to Cory Olson and the belts made by the legendary Kevin Melesky. Mail those to me Mike M !!
* The absolute most fun I had was just sitting around talking with old friends and hopefully made some new ones.

* Left at 4 am Central time, 9 1/2 hours is a long drive....


Drew you were sorely missed my friend, I truly hope you can make it next year...

It was great to finally meet the one and only Kevin the Butcher in person after all these years, and so many more like Pete and Niccolas and so many others I'd hate to try to list them all and miss someone. Had a blast with all of you guys, new friends and long time (I don't want to say "old" here. Some of us may be getting sensitive about that!). So many great conversations, so many great matches rolled, overall amazing experience.

And come on, I put you over in the Canada Cup after Mad Jester's great run in his bracket. All you had to do was cross the finish line in the finals! LOL
maybe next year. that was a fantastic match, though!

The law of averages caught up with me in the finals though, as EpicDave showed NO MERCY crushing me. Revenge is yours!!!

Lou Thesz won the LOW tournament again this year. I feel like he wins the LOW tournament almost every year.

I didn’t do any extensive research, but it seems like he’s won the thing 3-4 times at least.

Leaves me wondering if we should make a rule that says once a guy wins a GCON tournament of any kind - he’s no longer eligible to be used. We have hundreds of cards and it seems like for many years the sane guys are winning GCON tournaments. Like an auto qualifier for the GCON Cup if you drew Thesz or Monolith.

Wondered if anyone else had any thoughts on this or if it’s just me. Like, you should be able to win a LOW tournament with Rude or Hennig. If past winners like Vader and Thesz are in it every year, the chances of seeing that goes way down.

Actually this time, Nick Bockwinkel won the LOW tournament. Lou Thesz did make it to the finals

And last year, at least for in person I beat Lou Thesz in the semis with Jack Brisco, and beat Bob Backlund in the finals.

Galacticon was a phenomenal time. I chose not to participate in as many tournaments as I did a year ago, opting to just talk to folks. My weekend was a bit split between TNT HOF activities, but to echo KB’s sentiments, getting time to talk to friends was absolutely the best. Even Tim Dalton, despite the fact that he always gives me a hard time.

Highlights included watching Vegas not recognize The Golden God Bryce Jordyn when he got Sage and Briar Hale to sign his IPW II cards as they were all sitting at the same table. In his defense, Bryce was wearing a hat.

Talking to Sam Fain and Todd while on a Taco Bell run.

Talking to Chad Olson and others while walking on Friday and Saturday morning before GCON and Hall activities took place, while watching TK, Billy Roberts, and Chris all drive by in TK’s car and give us shit as we walked.

Talking to Troy Peterson, James Jeffies and The Golden God.

The Ethan Everheart vs. Bryce Jordyn Match at the IPW show

Having Ms. Frankie Jay give me shit about not moving chairs quick enough during TNTHOF Sunday clean up

It was a fantastic weekend both from a GCON and TNTHOF Weekend perspective. I cannot wait to go to Buffalo/Jamestown next year!

Sounds like something to keep an eye on to me. If one or a few guys do dominate all the time, then maybe remove a winner for a couple years. If cards are random draws, then it is less needed as anyone could get the hot card.

Meanwhile I had Jack in the Thesz-Tragos Tournament this year and he went out in the first round, suffering a countout loss to Ken Shamrock.

Agreeing with the eligibility thing. It makes logical sense!

Anyway, hey Swarm: Any guesses as to what the UPGRADE that you mentioned on Siege will actually look like (all jokes aside)?

I think I'm the only one that caught that when you said it in chat, haha!
