I think they'll manage. Much more important is any kind of deal they can make for media rights.

The Pac still need to find 2 more schools by 26-27 school year to reach the 8 team minimum to remain an official conference in the NCAA. My recommendation for one of the teams is the Texas State Armadillos!

I think they'll manage. Much more important is any kind of deal they can make for media rights. At the least they should still have their Pac-12 deal. I know the tv lineup at work had a straight Pac-12 channel and individual ones for some of the bigger schools. From what I have read they still have a bit of revenue from that for now and it is possible they can keep the Pac-12 channel itself going. Of course, the big money is a national deal, and I am sure they can get A deal done. Just might not be as much as they would like but considering the schools they cannot expect much these days.

I am really dumbfounded as to why my school UNLV (at least for now as at least 2 more teams need tp be added by Washington State and Oregon State) was not among the Mountain West teams invited this week to join the new PAC-12.
Las Vegas market
Allegiant Stadium
storied basketball program
a currently 3-0/about to be ranked college football team who tonight just knocked off Kansas on the road
and yet Colorado State and Fresno State somehow got invitations over UNLV? seriously WTF?

Do we know they didn't get an invite? Is it possible they did but turned it down?

Saw a claim on X that the Pac-12 is looking to add two teams in Texas in order to get into the Big 12's geographic footprint and get up to 8 teams post expansion. If so, I think UTSA and North Texas seem like good options with big media markets.

all my life, the Aople Cup (Washington vs my school Washington State) has been a big game but this year defeating Washington whose defection helped bring down the original PAC-12 was especially satisfying, Washington State still undefeated as they rebuild the PAC-12:

not surprisingly Memphis, Tulane and USF today all turned down the PAC-12, having read into the situation it just did not seem ikely they were going to get those schools to leave the AAC
so the PAC-12 still needs to add at least 2 more schools and those rumored for consideration are Gonzaga (for basketball only,) UNLV, Air Force, UTSA and Utah State. Air Force however is rumored to be going to the AAC. Meanwhile, the Mountain west is desperately trying to retain UNLV and the other remaining schools.

Looks like UTSA is off the board as well as they are staying in the AAC
