There is certainly a diminishing return on the later expansion sets. While 2094 and beyond are not off the table, I don't expect it to be a focus immediatly. Right now as far as early history of the GWF the focus is on 2074, as that is something existing and new fans could both be interested in.

With the greatest possible respect, I’m not sure about the “diminishing returns” argument. It seems like a lot of fans of the game will just buy everything, just because. This is so true in my case. I'm one of these fans lol

They can't assume everyone's going to buy everything anymore (I'm one who used to do that and simply can't anymore with all the stuff they put out) and I'm guessing since they have the sales figures that 92 and 93 for instance sold less than 87 and 88. Since a lot of old players are probably not going to go back and play the early years, it's only for nostalgia or supporting the company to buy it. Also at some point, SE cards become a major thing and that's even more work for said sets. (In fact 94 would have the first one)

I'm currently in 2089 of my replay using the reimagined color sets and will be ordering 2090 sometime soon. It's disappointing to hear they might stop at 2093 but, if that happens, I will just do a time warp and bring my fed up to the next color year which I guess is 2119 (or 2125?). That would be my best solution as I just want to use color cards for my GWF replay.

I had also heard that the sales for the recent reimagined COTG sets were not that good.
But I am thinking going to Early Classics (a set that as mentioned has been in demand) in color might ultimately increase demand for the sets such as 2094 as promoters who either restart their feds with Early Classics or just start COTG with Early Classics will probably want to continue their feds when they eventually get to 2094 and, as Barry mentioned earlier, many of those years are not even avaialble anymore in black and white.

I hope you're right.🤞 You may be on to something there, Zeke. That would be a very smart marketing strategy to boost sales for the other sets.

Perhaps I'll buy up the remaining copies of 2092 & 2093 to get those sales numbers up.

I am really not sure if it is a planned strategy or not as I am not involved in those COTG decisions, but I think increased demand for 2094 and onward in color could be a result of Early Classics getting released in color.

Rather than characterize sales as "not that good" I would just say that there was a clear difference in demand for 2093 versus the prior years. We had always planned on finishing the War Games series in color and then taking a pause afterwards. I believe that we'll see Sudden Death in color at some point, but for now the focus is on 2074-75 which many promoters have been looking to get for a long time!
