Maybe the later ones, but 2086 with the first drawing of a Gladiator Wolf, a card that Tom said he was initially afraid to ever even do at all? You can't screw that one up, either the card or the stats.

You can't screw that one up, either the card or the stats. I suppose that if there is an exception to be made, it’s Wolf. I guess it’s tolerable to say that now technically Wolf was the first guy to have an Add 1 move, then nobody else until Vengeance. But if you throw anyone else in between those two, I think we start having credibility issues.

Remember this particular set of cards will also introduce an in his prime K.O. Keller who was a 4(1) and had a +1 Heart Punch for his Level 2 #6 move.
I would argue it was him, Torin Caelum, Omega, and Morpheus that were the all out stars of the 2074-2075 era.

I’d say Dorado Sundown should also be in this group. However I do think there is a lot of validation in what Swarm is saying as far as having the cards be in line with the 2087 set. It could be said that you could use more modern card mechanics but that they were so dangerous that they weren’t widely used until they normally came out in history, but I do prefer what Pete said about wrestling “resting” itself. Not only did they have to relearn the craft all over again, but maybe it was due to the basement. All prior footage of wrestling, were either removed from public knowledge bases or completely destroyed. I’d move more toward they were hidden and then re-released once the GWF became popular again. I’m just happy that these sets are being reimagined. I have faith they’ll come out as they need to. Just like when 2089 was reimagined, no one expected the managers to have completely new card backs with charts and all of us were pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

Mark me down as someone who wants the color re-do to continue... I'd also love more Daryl Banks on them... he's one of my favorite artists. I got back into GWF because of him, and I'll be sad to see the color re-issues stop... perhaps after Early Classics
I LOVE the Early Classics set, but I've played through it a couple times (once with the original classics sets then again when the EC set, which I love) and don't really feel the need to revisit.. maybe a tourney or two for something Kronos related.
I certainly don't mind seeing those character in color by Banks though!
