Nitro Wrestling 8.52 Jim Ross and Shane Douglas welcome the fans to the final show of the year and hype the main event, Paul Orndorff vs. Jim Londos for the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title!
1. Bobby Shane vs. Mark Fleming Fleming mauls Shane and locks on the STF but Shane is able to reach the ropes. Shane recovers and hits a bulldog for a two count. Shane hits a top rope flying body press for the win.

Douglas says Shane got a little revenge. JR introduces the next match.
2. Rip Rogers vs. Chris Candido Rogers and Candido battle back and forth. Candido hits a small package for a two count. Candido hits the Blonde Bomb for the win.

3. Eddie Graham vs. Ted DiBiase Graham gets the early advantage and hits the diving knee drop for a two count. Graham and DiBiase battle back and forth all over the ring area. DiBiase hits a fist drop for a two count. DiBiase hits a backbreaker for a two count. DiBiase clocks Graham with the loaded glove for the win.

After the match, DiBiase challenges the winner of tonight’s main event, saying he’ll leave the territory if he doesn’t win the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title. JR introduces the next match.
4. Eddie & Doug Gilbert vs. Vampiro & Hugh Morris - losers leave town for one year Doug Gilbert and Hugh Morris start the match. Morris crushes Gilbert and hits No Laughing Matter for a two count. Morris tags in Vampiro. Gilbert makes a comeback and tags in Eddie. Vampiro makes a comeback but Gilbert rolls him up in a small package for a two count. Vampiro battles back and hits the Nail in the Coffin but Doug makes the save. Vampiro tags in Morris. Morris hits No Laughing Matter and all hell breaks loose. While the referee is restoring order, Doug DDTs Morris and rolls Eddie on top for a two count. Eddie nails Morris with a foreign object and tags in Doug. Doug hits a suplex and a DDT for near falls. Morris makes a comeback and tags in Vampiro. Doug makes a comeback and hits a suplex for a two count. Doug tags in Eddie. Eddie hits the Hot Shot for a two count. Vampiro makes a comeback and hits an uranage for a two count. Vampiro hits a power bomb for a two count. Eddie catches Vampiro with a sunset flip and Doug cuts off Morris while the referee makes the three count!

5. Hiro Matsuda vs. Tracy Smothers Smothers gets in some offense but Matsuda shuts him down and locks on the sleeper. Smothers taps out.

JR puts over Matsuda and reminds the crowd that he trained the current Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight champion, Paul Orndorff. Douglas introduces the main event.
6. Paul Orndorff with Bobby Heenan vs. Jim Londos - Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title match Orndorff and Londos battle back and forth. Londos hits a crotch lift and slam. Londos hits a fireman’s carry slam and covers Londos for a two count. Bobby Heenan is beside himself at ringside. Orndorff makes a comeback but Londos hits another crotch lift and slam and covrers Orndorff for a two count. Orndorff rolls out of the ring and Londos goes out after him. Orndorff mauls Londos on the outside and rolls him back into the ring. Orndorff hits a back suplex for a two count. Londos makes a comeback but Orndorff shuts him down and hits brutal knee lifts for a two count. Orndorff hits the jumping piledriver but Londos gets his shoulder up before the three count. Londos recovers and hits the crotch lift and slam. Londos covers Orndorff for a two count. Orndorff makes a comeback and throws Londos outside the ring. Orndorff suplexes Londos on the guardrail and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner - Jim Londos by DQ, Orndorff’s tenth title defense of the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title. Orndorff has tied with Shane Douglas at ten title defenses. Only Buddy Rogers (12) and Harley Race (15) have more.

Nitro Wrestling 9.1 Jim Ross and Shane Douglas welcome the fans to the show and hype the main event, Paul Orndorff vs. Ted DiBiase for the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title. DiBiase has vowed to leave the territory if he doesn’t win the gold. Douglas says there’s been a lot of turnover in the roster but the fans will be pleased. JR introduces the first match.
1. Hiro Matsuda vs. Tom Prichard Matsuda and Prichard grapple back and forth. Matsuda gets some momentum going and locks on the Sleeper but Prichard backs him into the corner to break the hold. Matsuda locks on the abdominal stretch and Prichard taps out.
Winner - Hiro Matsuda by submission
After the match, Matsuda motions for his interpreter to enter the ring. Through the interpreter, Matsuda says it’s time he puts his old pupil to the test and challenges Paul Orndorff to a match for the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title.
JR says Orndorff will have to survive Ted DiBiase tonight and Jim Londos in two weeks. Douglas says that’s a tall order and introduces the next match.
2. Eddie Graham vs. Scott Casey Casey gets the early advantage and goes to work on Graham. Graham makes a comeback and locks on the figure four. Casey taps out.

3. Stan Hansen vs. Cuban Assassin Cuban Assassin isn’t intimidated and goes toe to toe with Hansen. The two men battlet back and forth. Fidel hits the falling head butt for a two count. Hansen comes back and hits a power bomb for a two count. Hansen hits a big elbow drop for a two count. Hansen crushes the Cuban Assassin with the lariat for the win.

JR puts over Stan Hansen. Douglas introduces the main event.
4. Kevin Sullivan & Andrew Anderson vs. Eddie & Doug Gilbert, Falls Count Anywhere Sullivan and Doug Gilbert start the match. Gilbert has Sullivan in trouble but can’t keep him down. Sullivan shuts him down and hits a piledriver but Eddie makes the save. Sullivan throws Gilbert outside the ring and DDTs him on the concrete. Sullivan covers Gilbert for a two count. Sullivan chokes Gilbert with a microphone cord, wearing him down. Sullivan rolls him back into the ring and tags in Anderson. Anderson throws Gilbert out of the ring and Gilbert makes a comeback, body slamming Anderson on a souvenir stand. Doug tags in Eddie. Anderson makes a comeback and hits a swinging neckbreaker for a two count. Anderson throws Eddie out of the ring and hits the thumb to the throat for a two count. Anderson hits a hot shot across the guard rail and rolls Gilbert back into the ring. Anderson throws Gilbert back out of the ring and busts a beer bottle over his head. Gilbert grabs a beer bottle and busts it over Anderson’s head. Both men are wearing the crimson mask. GIlbert throws Anderson back into the ring and hits the Hot Shot. Doug holds off Sullivan while the referee makes the three count.

JR announces that Paul Orndorff has agreed to put the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title on the line next week against his mentor, Hiro Matsuda. Douglas introduces the first match.
1. Sgt Slaughter vs. Bob Cook Slaughter mauls Cook and locks on the Cobra Clutch. Cook taps out.

JR says it’s been almost eight years since they last saw Sgt Slaughter. Douglas says he could wait another eight years and introduces the next match.
2. 2 Cold Scorpio vs. Larry Zbyszko Zbyszko and Scorpio battle back and forth. Zbyszko hits a piledriver for a two count. Zbyszko hits a second piledriver for the win.

JR says Zbsyzko is climbing the ladder. Douglas says it’ll take him a few hours of stalling and introduces the next match.

4. Paul Orndorff vs. Hiro Matsuda - Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title match Matsuda gets the early momentum. Orndorff nails him with brutal knee lifts for a two count. Matsuda makes a comeback but Orndorff shuts him down and hits the stalling vertical suplex for a two count. Orndorff tears into his mentor and won’t let up. The match spills out of the ring. Matsuda gets the advantage but Orndorff overpowers him and hits a back suplex for the three count.
Winner - Paul Orndorff by pinfall, his thirteenth title defense, only two successful defenses away from Harley Race’s record.

After the match, Zbyszko gets on the mic and runs down the competition in Nitro Wrestling. Sgt Slaughter returns to ringside and gets in Zbyszko’s face until security arrives. Douglas introduces the main event.
4. Barry Windham & Eddie Gilbert vs. Kevin Sullivan & One Man Gang - Steel Cage match Gilbert and Sullivan start the match. Sullivan mauls GIlbert and nails him with the foreign object. Sullivan tags in One Man Gang. Gang mauls Gilbert and hits the 747 Splash. Sullivan takes out Windham while the referee makes the three count.

After the match, Windham helps Gilbert to his feet and eats a fireball for his troubles. Hansen hits the lariat but Graham is able to drape his leg over the bottom rope to break the count. Hansen nails Graham with another lariat but Graham is too close to the ropes to cover. Cursing, Hansen pulls Graham up by the hair and nails him with a third lariat for the win.
