Nitro Wrestling 9.25 Jim Ross and Shane Douglas welcome the fans to the show and hype the main event, Lou Thesz vs. Eddie Graham with the winner taking on Paul Orndorff for the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title next week.
1. Angelo Poffo vs. Mark Fleming Poffo takes Fleming down at the bell. Poffo hits the top rope neck snap for a two count. Poffo hits a knee lift for a two count. Poffo hits the neckbreaker for the win.

JR says Angelo Poffo is quietly climbing the ranks. Douglas introduces the next match.
2. Dynamite Kid vs. Missing Link Dynamite mows Link down at the bell. Dynamite hits a gut wrench suplex for a two count. Dynamite hits the diving head butt but Link’s hard head prevents it from being fully effective and he only gets a two count. Dynamite hits a second diving head butt for the win.
Winner - Dynamite Kid by pinfall
JR says Dynamite is angrier than ever and doubtlessly has his sights set on Mr Wonderful and the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title. Douglas introduces the next match.
3. Wahoo McDaniel vs. Stan Hansen Hansen starts strong but Wahoo nails him with overhead chops. Wahoo chops Hansen in the chest and covers him for a two count. Wahoo hits the falling chop for a near fall. Wahoo hits the overhead chops again. Wahoo chops Hansen down and covers him for a two count. Wahoo hits two tomahawk chops and covers Hansen for the win.
Winner - Wahoo McDaniel by pinfall
JR puts over Wahoo McDaniel. Douglas introduces the main event.
4. Lou Thesz vs. Eddie Graham - #1 contender Graham and Thesz battle back and forth. Thesz gets some momentum going and locks on the stepover toehold facelock but Graham fights his way out of the hold. Thesz hits the Thesz Press for the win.
Winner - Lou Thesz by pinfall
The Franchise and JR sign off, telling fans to tune in next week when Lou Thesz takes on Paul Orndorff for the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title.

Nitro Wrestling 9.26 Jim Ross and Shane Douglas welcome the fans to the show and hype the main event,Lou Thesz vs. Paul Orndorff for the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title.
1. Wilbur Snyder vs. Cuban Assassin Synder and Sierra battle back and forth. Snyder hits a dropkick for a two count. Snyder locks on the body scissors and rolls Assassin over for the three count.
Winner - Wilbur Snyder by pinfall
JR reminds the fans that Snyder is a two time Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight champion. Douglas introduces the next match.
2. Dan Spivey vs. Larry Zbyszko Spivey and Zbyszko battle all over the ring area. Zbyszko goes to the top but Spivey catches him and hits the tilt a whirl slam for a two count. Zbyszko makes a comeback and hits a neckbreaker for a two count. Zbyszko hits another neckbreaker for the win.
Winner - Larry Zbyszko by pinfall
Douglas says Zbyszko came very close to beating Orndorff for the gold once and could do it next time. Ross introduces the next match.
3. Sgt Slaughter vs. Bad News Allen Slaughter and Bad News battle back and forth. Slaughter hits a gut buster for the win.

JR says Sarge needed that win. Douglas introduces the main event.
4. Paul Orndorff with Bobby Heenan vs. Lou Thesz - Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title match Thesz and Orndorff battle back and forth. Orndorff hits a brutal knee lift and covers Thesz for a two count. Thesz and Orndorff battle outside the ring and Thesz comes out on top. Thesz hits a Greco-Roman Backdrop for a two count. Thesz bloodies Orndorff outside the ring. Thesz hits a Greco-Roman Backdrop but Orndorff kicks out. Thesz hits the Thesz Press for a two count as Bobby Heenan nearly has a heart attack at ringside. Thesz hits another Thesz Press but Heenan jumps up on the apron, distracting the referee. Thesz knocks Heenan off the apron. Orndorff whips Thesz to the buckles and eats a boot. Thesz hits a released power bomb and goes for the cover but Heenan is up on the apron again. Heenan throws Orndorff a pair of brass knuckles. Thesz intercepts them and clocks Orndorff with them. Orndorff manages to get a shoulder up before the three count. Thesz locks on the double wristlock and Orndorff taps out!
Winner - Lou Thesz by submission. Thesz is the new Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight champion!
After the match, Heenan shouts at Orndorff and slaps him. Orndorff drills Heenan with a short arm clothesline and piledrives him as the show goes off the air.

I have the rest of year nine in the can but Orndorff losing the belt seems like a good place to leave it for now.

I'm not planning on getting back to Nitro Wrestling until after the next TNT set but I'll probably start posting the second half of year nine in the next couple days.

Nitro Wrestling 9.27 Jim Ross and The Franchise welcome the fans to the show and hype the main event, Lou Thesz vs. Angelo Mosca for the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title. JR says Bobby Heenan was hospitalized with a neck injury last week but was released this morning. Douglas introduces the first match.
1. Nick Bockwinkel vs. Bob Cook Bockwinkel makes short work of Cook, taking him to the mat and locking on the figure four for the win.
Winner - Nick Bockwinkel by submission
After the match, Nick Bockwinkel says Paul Orndorff should be ashamed of himself for attacking poor, defenseless Bobby Heenan. Bockwinkel challenges Orndorff to a match next week.
2. Stan Hansen vs. Rip Rogers Rip Rogers gets the early advantage. Hansen bounces back and clobbers him with the lariat but Rogers gets his foot on the ropes. Hansen argues with the referee and Rogers attacks him from behind. Rogers locks on the Boston Crab but Hansen is able to drag them to the ropes. Hansen squashes Rogers and hits an elbow drop for a two count. Hansen clobbers Rogers with another Lariat for the win.
Winner - Stan Hansen by pinfall
Douglas says Rogers would have been better off staying down after the first lariat. JR introduces the next match.
3. Sgt Slaughter vs. Wahoo McDaniel Slaughter and Wahoo battle back and forth. Slaughter hits the throat drop on the top rope and clamps on the Cobra Clutch. Wahoo taps out.
Winner - Sgt Slaughter by submission
After the match, Slaughter says it’s high time he got a shot at the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title. JR introduces the main event.
4. Lou Thesz vs. Angelo Mosca - Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title Mosca bulldozes Thesz at the bell and hits the running power slam for a two count. Mosca nails Thesz with an elbow smash to the face and covers him for a two count. Thesz makes a comeback and wears Mosca down with an airplane spin. Thesz and Mosca battle back and forth. Thesz hits the Thesz Press for a two count. Thesz hits the Greco-Roman Backdrop for the win.
Winner - Lou Thesz by pinfall, his first title defense
JR and The Franchise sign off, telling fans to tune in next week when Paul Orndorff takes on Nick Bockwinkel in the main event.

Nitro Wrestling 9.28 Jim Ross and Shane Douglas welcome the fans to the show and hype the main event, Paul Orndorff vs. Nick Bockwinkel. JR introduces the first match.
1. Tony Anthony vs. Bob Cook Anthony works Cook over at the bell. JR reminds the fans that Anthony has come within an eyelash of the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title on a couple occasions. Anthony hits the Bucksnort Blaster for the win.
Winner - Tony Anthony by pinfall
Douglas says Anthony could get a main event once again if he keeps winning like that. JR introduces the next match.
2. Eddie Graham vs. Tom Stone Graham wears down Stone and nails him with the hardest punches in wrestling for a two count. Graham locks on the figure four and Stone taps out.
Winner - Eddie Graham by submission
JR says Graham has yet to receive a shot at the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title. Douglas introduces the next match.
3. Hiro Matsuda vs. Angelo Poffo Poffo gets the early advantage and hits a running stomp for a two count. Poffo hits a knee lift for a two count. Poffo continues his attack and hits the neckbreaker but Matsuda gets his foot on the ropes. Poffo hits another knee lift for a two count. Poffo hits another running stomp and covers Matsuda but still can’t put him away. Poffo whips Matsuda to the ropes and Matsuda hits a sunset flip for a two count. Poffo and Matsuda battle back and forth. Matsuda catches Poffo in a small package for a two count. Matsuda and Poffo grapple back and forth. Matsuda locks on the abdominal stretch but Poffo reaches the ropes. Matsuda locks on the sleeper but Poffo fights his way into the corner, breaking the hold. Matsuda wrestles Poffo into the center of the ring and locks on the sleeper. Poffo finally taps out.
Winner - Hiro Matsuda by submission
JR says Matsuda has been overshadowed as of late but that was a huge win. Douglas introduces the main event.
4. Paul Orndorff vs. Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan Orndorff and Bockwinkel circle one another at the bell and Orndorff tears into Bockwinkel like a shark. Orndorff hits a piledriver for a two count. Larry Zbyszko slowly makes his way down to ringside, counting a huge stack of cash. Orndorff continues his attack and hits another jumping piledriver. Heenan gestures to Zbyszko as the referee makes the three count.
Winner - Paul Orndorff by pinfall
After the match, Heenan and Zbyszko attack Orndorff from behind. Bockwinkel recovers and throws Orndorff to the outside. Heenan lays down a chair at ringside. Orndorff tries fighting them off but Bockwinkel hits a low blow and he and Zbyskzo hits a spike piledriver on the chair. Bockwinkel and Zbyszko put the boots to Orndorff and go for another spike piledriver but Eddie Graham and Hiro Matsuda make the save. Orndorff is stretchered out as the show goes off the air.

Nitro Wrestling 9.29 Jim Ross and Shane Douglas welcome the fans to the show. JR says that Paul Orndorff was taken to a local medical facility last week and has yet to be released. Doctors say it will be months before he is able to wrestle again. Bobby Heenan’s lawyers filed a lawsuit against Nitro Wrestling to prevent Bockwinkel & Zbyszko from being suspended so tonight they’ll have to face Eddie Graham & Hiro Matsuda in the main event. Douglas introduces the first match.
1. Great Malenko vs. Scott Casey Malenko stomps Casey to the mat and hits the Malenko Stomp for a two count. Casey makes a comeback and hits a backbreaker for a two count. Casey hits a bulldog for the win!
Winner - Scott Casey by pinfall
After the match, Malenko grabs his chain from ringside and nails Casey with it before leaving the ring area.
2. Tony Anthony vs. Tom Stone Anthony gets the jump on Stone and hits the side backbreaker for a two count. Anthony hits a Bucksnort Blaster but Stone gets his foot on the ropes before the three count. Anthony hits the falling front slam for the win.
Winner - Tony Anthony by pinfall
JR says Anthony is climbing the ladder. Douglas introduces the next match.
3. Wilbur Snyder vs. Angelo Mosca Snyder and Mosca battle back and forth. Snyder clamps on the Abdominal Stretch and Mosca taps out.

Douglas says Snyder’s Abdominal Stretch is tough to escape. JR introduces the main event.
4. Graham & Matsuda vs. Bockwinkel & Zbyszko Eddie Graham and Larry Zbyszko start the match. Zbyszko goes on the attack and takes off the turnbuckle pad. Zbyszko hits a backbreaker for a two count and slams Graham’s head into the exposed buckle, busting him open. Zbyszko hits a piledriver for a two count and tags in Bockwinkel. Bockwinkel locks on the figure four and Zbyszko holds off Matsuda. Graham submits.
Winners - Bockwinkel & Zbyszko by submission
The fans pelt the ring with trash. JR and The Franchise sign off, telling fans to tune in next week for Lou Thesz vs. Sgt Slaughter for the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title!
