Nitro Wrestling 9.30 Jim Ross and Shane Douglas welcome the fans to the show and hype the main event, Lou Thesz vs. Sgt Slaughter for the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title. JR says there has been some fallout from last week’s tag team main event - Hiro Matsuda will take on Nick Bockwinkel this week and next week’s main event will be Eddie Graham vs. Larry Zbyszko. Douglas introduces the first match.
1. One Man Gang vs. Scott Casey Casey jumps Gang at the bell. The match spills out of the ring and One Man Gang slams Casey into the ring post. Gang hits the falling face slam for a two count. One Man Gang punishes Casey. Casey makes a comeback but Gang shuts him down. Gang goes for the 747 but Casey rolls out of the way. Casey can’t follow up on it and Gang levels him with a clothesline for a two count. Gang hits the 747 splash for the win.
Winner - One Man Gang by pinfall
JR says Casey almost snuck out with another one. Douglas introduces the next match.
2. Great Malenko vs. Ranger Ross Malenko goes to work on Ross at the bell. Malenko hits a piledriver for a two count. Malenko locks on the Russian Sickle and Ross taps out.
Winner - Great Malenko by submission
Douglas says Malenko had a rocky start but he’s on track now. JR introduces the next match.
3. Hiro Matsuda vs. Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan Matsuda and Bockwinkel battle back and forth. Matsuda gets distracted by Bobby Heenan and Bockwinkel clips his knee from behind. Bockwinkel locks on the figure four and Matsuda taps out.
Winner - Nick Bockwinkel by submission
Bockwinkel refuses to release the hold until Eddie Graham hits the ring and makes the save. Zbsyzko comes out of the crowd and joins the brawl. Security pours out of the back. Once order is restored, JR introduces the main event.
4. Lou Thesz vs. Sgt Slaughter - Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title Thesz and Slaughter battle back and forth. Thesz gets the momentum going and wears Slaughter down with an airplane spin. Thesz hits the Thesz Press for a two count. Thesz hits the released power bomb and covers Slaughter but Slaughter kicks out at two. Thesz hits another Thesz Press but can’t put Slaughter away. Slaughter makes a comeback and hits the throat drop on the ropes for a two count. Slaughter hits a vertical suplex but Thesz gets his foot on the ropes. Slaughter locks on the Cobra Clutch and Thesz taps out.
Winner - Sgt Slaughter by submission. Sgt Slaughter is the new Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight champion!
JR and Shane Douglas sign off, telling fans to tune in next week when Eddie Graham takes on Larry Zbsyzko in the main event.

Nitro Wrestling 9.31 Jim Ross and Shane Douglas welcome the fans to the show and hype the main event, Eddie Graham vs. Larry Zbyszko. JR says a rematch between Sgt Slaughter and Lou Thesz for the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title has been signed for next week. Douglas introduces the first match.
1. Ranger Ross vs. Missing Link Missing Link goes to work on Ranger Ross with head butts. Link hits a falling body slam for a two count .Ranger Ross makes a comeback and hits a flying body press for a two count. Ross hits a vertical suplex for a two count. Ross nails Link with the Combat Kick for the win.
Winner - Ranger Ross by pinfall
JR puts over Ranger Ross’s upset. Douglas asks if Ranger Ross is JR’s favorite nephew and introduces the next match.
2. Hiro Matsuda vs. Tom Stone Matsuda takes Stone to the mat and locks on the abdominal stretch, wearing him down. Matsuda nails Stone with karate chops and covers him for a two count. Matsuda locks on the sleeper and Stone taps out.

JR says Matsuda may be in line for another title shot soon. Douglas introduces the next match.
3. Wahoo McDaniel vs. Tony Anthony Wahoo and Anthony battle all over the ring area. Wahoo nails Anthony with overhead chops. Wahoo goes to the overhead chops two more times, busting Anthony open. Wahoo hits a tomahawk chop but Anthony kicks out. Wahoo hits a second tomahawk chop and Anthony rolls out on the apron to escape. Anthony makes a comeback but Wahoo chops him in the chest and covers him for the three count.

JR says Wahoo has his sights on the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title like everyone else. Douglas introduces the main event.
4. Eddie Graham vs. Larry Zbyszko Graham and Zbyszko battle back and forth. Graham hits a diving knee drop for a two count. Graham and Zbyszko battle outside the ring. Zbyszko hits a piledriver on the concrete and Graham barely beats the count back into the ring. Zbyszko taunts Graham. Graham hits a double leg takedown and locks on the figure four. Zbyszko taps out.

Nick Bockwinkel and Bobby Heenan come down to ringside after the match but Hiro Matsuda attacks them from behind with a steel chair. JR and The Franchise sign off, telling the fans to tune in next week for Sgt. Slaughter vs. Lou Thesz with the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title on the line!

JR says One Man Gang was more vicious than usual this week. Douglas introduces the next match.
2. Masa Saito vs. Nord the Barbarian Nord attacks Saito before the bell and hits a boot to the face for a two count. Saito and Nord battle all over the ring area. Saito wears Nord down with a sleeper. Saito locks on the Prison Lock but Nord fights him off. Saito locks on the Prison Lock a second time and Nord taps out.

JR says Saito once beat Vader by count out in a Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title match. Douglas introduces the next match.
3. Hiro Matsuda vs. Larry Zbyszko Matsuda and Zbyszko battle back and forth. Zbyszko goes to the top rope but Matsuda throws him to the mat. Matsuda clamps on the sleeper and Zbyszko taps out.

After the match, Bobby Heenan comes down to ringside and motions to the back. One Man Gang comes out and helps Zbyszko beat up Matsuda. Masa Saito comes down to ringside and attacks Zbyszko and One Man Gang! Matsuda and Saito clean house! Once order is restored, JR introduces the main event.
4. Sgt Slaughter vs. Lou Thesz - Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title match Thesz and Slaughter battle all over the ring area. Slaughter hits a gutbuster for a two count. Slaughter clamps on the Cobra Clutch and Thesz taps out.

Nitro Wrestling 9.33 Jim Ross and Shane Douglas welcome the fans to the show and hype the main event, Eddie Graham vs. The Dynamite Kid with the winner taking on Sgt Slaughter for the Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title in two weeks. JR introduces the first match.
1. Great Malenko vs. Rip Rogers Malenko bulldozes Rogers at the bell. Malenko hits the Malenko stomp for a two count. Malenko hits a piledriver for a two count. Malenko locks on the Russian sickle and Rogers taps out.

JR says Malenko has rebounded from his rocky start. Douglas introduces the next match.
2. Ranger Ross vs. Bad News Allen Ranger Ross gets the early advantage but Bad News shuts him down. Bad News clobbers Ross with a Ghetto Blaster for the win.

Bad News gets on the mic and says he’ll be the first black Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight champion if he gets one more chance at the gold. Douglas introduces the next match.
3. Masa Saito with Hiro Matsuda vs. Larry Zbyszko with One Man Gang Zbyszko attacks Saito before the bell. Zbyszko hits the spinning back kick for a two count. Zbyszko slams Saito’s head into the turnbuckle for a two count and removes the turnbuckle pad. Zbyszko hits a piledriver for a two count. Saito makes a comeback and slams Zbyszko’s head into the turnbuckle. Zbyszko makes a comeback and hits another spinning back kick for the win.

Matsuda and One Man Gang enter the ring after the match but officials swarm the ring before any blows can be struck. Once order is restored, JR introduces the main event.
4. Dynamite Kid vs. Eddie Graham - #1 contender match Dynamite mows down Graham at the bell. Graham catches Dynamite with a small package for a two count. Graham locks on the figure four but Dynamite fights him off. Graham stomps Dynamite to the mat and covers him for a two count. Dynamite and Graham battle all over the ring area. Graham comes out on top and hits the diving knee drop for a two count. Graham hits another knee drop for the win.

1. Lou Thesz vs. Tom Stone Thesz quickly out grapples Stone and hits a dropkick for a two count. Thesz hits a released power bomb for the win.

After the match, Nick Bockwinkel comes out and congratulates Thesz on ending the longest Nitro Wrestling World Heavyweight title reign of all time only to be a transitional champion. Bockwinkel says the belt is worth less now than when Paul Orndorff had it. Thesz says if Bockwinkel wants to put his money where his mouth is, they can wrestle next week. Bockwinkel says he’ll think about it and takes his corner for the next match. Thesz joins JR and Shane Douglas on commentary.
2. Nick Bockwinkel vs. Scott Casey Bockwinkel wastes time taunting Thesz and casey gets the advantage. Casey hits a bulldog for a two count. Casey hits a reverse neckbreaker for a two count. Bockwinkel makes a comeback and chokes Casey on the ropes. Bockwinkel hits a back suplex for the three count.

Bockwinkel stops at the announce table after the match and throws JR’s water in Thesz’s face. Thesz jumps the table and brawls with Bockwinkel until security pulls them apart. Douglas introduces the next match.
3. Wilbur Snyder vs. Stan Hansen Snyder and Hansen battle back and forth. Snyder misses a turnbuckle splash and Hansen rolls him up for a two count. Snyder makes a comeback and hits a flying tackle for a two count. Snyder hits a dropkick for a two count. Snyder clamps on the abdominal stretch but Hansen won’t tap out. Snyder rolls Hansen back for the three count.

Thesz continues his assault and hits another Thesz Press for a two count. Bockwinkel makes a comeback and hits a piledriver on the concrete. Thesz is nearly counted out. Bockwinkel chokes Thesz on the ropes. While Bockwinkel keeps the referee occupied, Heenan puts on some brass knuckles and nails Thesz. Bockwinkel rolls up Thesz for the three count.

Slaughter and Graham battle back and forth. Graham stomps Slaughter into the mat and covers him for a two count. Slaughter unloads on Graham but can’t keep him down. Graham and Slaughter brawl all over the ring area. Graham gets the upper hand and locks on the figure four again but Slaughter fights his way to the ropes. Graham locks on the leglock and crossface but Slaughter fights him off. Graham whips Sarge to the ropes and Sarge hits a small package for a two count. Graham and Slaughter battle outside the ring. Graham rolls Sarge back in the ring and locks on the leglock and crossface but Sarge won’t tap. Sarge rolls out of the ring and Graham comes out after him. Sarge nails Graham with a chair and the referee calls for the bell.

After the match, a bloody Eddie Graham grabs the mic and says he owned Slaughter and challenges him to a rematch. Slaughter snatches the mic from Graham and says he’ll wrestle Graham in a boot camp match in two weeks.

1. Larry Zbyszko vs. Scott Casey Zbyszko gets the early advantage and works Casey over. Zbyszko hits a piledriver for a two count. Zbsyzko hits a backbreaker for another two count. Zbyszko hits a piledriver but Casey gets his foot on the ropes. Zbyszko hits a third piledriver for the win.

JR says Zbyszko is dangerous and Bobby Heenan better keep paying him or he might be trouble for Bockwinkel down the line. Douglas introduces the next match.
2. Angelo Mosca vs. Hiro Matsuda Mosca bulldozes Matsuda at the bell and hits a running power slam for a two count. Matsuda hits a double leg takedown and wears Mosca down with the Boston Crab.
