Yeah, Labatt's isn't very good. For Canadian beer I've found you usually need to go with a microbrewery if you're looking for quality; The Granville Island Brewing Company here in Vancouver makes excellent beer! Despite being Canadian I've never been a fan of poutine. Everyone I mention this to looks at me like I have two heads. I don't like cheese curds or gravy so that makes the dish difficult for me to enjoy. I think I'm also the only person in this country who doesn't like The Tragically Hip. Not to speak ill of the dead but the lead singer Gord Downie's voice grates on my nerves. Sorry bro but I'm not into IPAs, microbreweries, etc. at all. I do like a Labatt Blue every now and again though. You're probably helping your heart health by not eating poutine, LOL. Do you like Bryan Adams or Rush? You spelled Brian Adams and Crush wrong.

X
I had seen good things about this movie, and it was re-released for a one-time event last night to hype the sequel coming out. I really liked it. They took the whole slasher movie is a metaphor for sex to a new level. The characters were decent, and the suspense was built up nicely. I got a huge shock when I watched the credits. I did not catch that the main actress played two parts. Very cool. Also, did not recognize Brittany Snow but then again it had been a while since I had seen her in anything. It is weird to think she was topless lol. As slasher flicks go, this one had more depth than a lot of them thus the buzz. I am not sure if I will see the sequel as it takes things in a different direction, slightly, but might go see it on discount Tuesday or if it is part of a double feature at the drive in, I will see it there if the other movie is a good one. One thing I like in movies is the small details to try and help develop characters and/or storylines. This movie had it here and there but the best to me was Sunday. If you watch the movie, you will know what I am talking about. A cute little touch and it made me laugh.

While I haven't seen X yet I did watch the prequel "Pearl" last year for my Independent Spirit Awards voting. The movie itself was just OK but Mia Goth was quite good in it (her monologue near the end was a real knockout) and there's some stunning camerawork in it particularly during one of the murder scenes. That scene alone earned the film my vote for Best Cinematography.

Doesn't hurt that she is easy on the eyes.

I see tomorrow is National Indigenous People Day in Canada tomorrow. So, Canadians do not forget to show respect to your NIP tomorrow.

I liked X when I saw it a couple of years ago, definitely a horror movie I would recommend for horror fans. The prequel Pearl was good too (although I would rate it a little less than X.) I did not know that the sequel MaXXXine was finished and about to get released until I read this post and I will definitely see it at least on streaming.
