PROMOTER PRIME As always, it's important to evaluate and re-evaluate what we offer. We will offer Promoter Prime the same way in 2024 as we have in the recent past, but we will also re-evaluate its value to loyal promoters. Perhaps it has outlived its purpose. I am open to ideas and you guys are the experts. Feel free to share your thoughts on the pros and cons of Promoter Prime. Should we just collapse all our cards into our regular releases or is there a place for certain cards to be released separately as PP cards? As Hamlet says, "That is the question." When I think back to the beginnings of the game, 14 year old me would have been over the moon to receive new cards every 3 months! I think it can advance storylines for the COTG lines, and provides a great outlet for releasing Legends and Indie wrestlers who may not fit with a particular set's theme, or can add additional wrestlers to that theme's roster. I say keep the Promoter Prime releases! I concur with this. I think back to that 4-pack that was released awhile ago (2126? Or was it 2132?) for COTG that was a 4-pack. If you made the cards "important" to COTG - thinking to Cycle 2 and the COTG mainline saga, it works. The hard part, which I am OK with, is when we have COTG releases that not everyone plays. Like if I don't play Future Shock/Centra or FTR, in some years, I may be paying $29.00 for only three cards. If we went to each Cycle there was a 4-pack or 3-pack (same number of cards) tied into each release - then folks could choose if they wanted the cards or not, and feel like they were getting their money's worth. I also, growing up, used to LOVE the SE cards with different art and slightly tweaked stats. I think about Dreadnaught in 2105 going into the Transevolver and Monad learning new moves as he began to wrestle in the CPC and had Doomsayer with exo-skeleton as his manager. Those cards were some of the best cards in the game, imo. Obviously they were infrequently cards for new characters (Lycosa springs to mind, or create-a-character winners, not withstanding), but it allowed for updates to characters such as when they moved from singles to tag team wrestling (think Death Head's Lower World card) or when they made a significant turn (think Justice to Dark Justice).

IMO, PP is still GOOD for LOW and indies, but COTG I truly don't know. With no Kronos, FTR or Centra then what's the use? There's no need to throw cards out just for the sake of filling a PP spot ala the Aethran Soldies....

I’m feeling like Tom might be brewing up the next Thunder and/or P3 with those Gladiator soldier cards. Just a hunch based on some of the hints he’s been dropping about 2140. All three were suspiciously ignored in terms of describing who they are, where they came from or why they are here. I can vision a slightly agitated Tom explaining tongue in cheek how Aethran culture is nobody’s business, and who they are or what their purpose is is not our concern. There were no bios because there is nothing to tell us. When the Aethrans are ready to tell us their plans they will - then change his stern scowl into a smile and let out that classic Tom laugh. Definitely something Tom would do and it would make sense.

Officially one month has passed since this question was asked. Has anyone tallied up the votes & likes to see where we landed on this? Well, I'm only a legends player at this point, so I can't speak for the other lines... But I would like PP to continue for sure. Haven't picked up this year's yet, but I will be!

Haven't seen anyone say no. They just want COTG PP adjusted a bit.

Without other side cotg releases I'd say cotg prime may fall by the wayside. Not a shot at Tom but I don't think he wants to come up with cards every quarter for Prime. He's happy doing one new GWF set a year.

I like all the Promoter Primes and would love for all of them to continue. I wouldn't mind seeing jobbers/openers added to COTG Prime so no need for big tie ins to the story or continue with the Kronos, Centra, FTR tie ins
