It's a diverse galaxy. I feel like we should be embracing that fact instead of trying to cover it and hide from it.
How many COTG characters have there been across the main sets, aCe, CPC, and Kronos? 400? 450? It'd be pretty shocking if there *weren't* any non-heteros in there be they gay, trans, bi, asexual, or wholly alien.

Maybe some people are uncomfortable with the topic because they have not had their cootie shots. Of course there is a reason they have not had their shots but let's not go down that rabbit hole. If one can discuss the aspects of war and how it has an effect on the GWF then why not aspects of love. Just a small part of the great, vast universe. Just as long as we don't discuss which wrestler is vegan.  |

Also it is assuming a lot to think that the promoters that are asking these questions are "uncomfortable with the topic," just because they are asking a question. As ~KB~ said, regarding all topics "It's Up To You Promoter." Case in point, in my fed I had Super Nova and Maxine Babe in a relationship on the first play through, after turning Super Nova heel following the death of Crossfire in 2104. It was up to me, so I did it. I guess the whole point is there is A LOT of assuming about people's intentions, feelings, etc. on this matter that is being done here, and worse, it appears, that it is being done in a light that assumes the worst about other promoters, and I just know that I do not want others to do that about me. But, again, that is just one man's opinion. |

There was no maliciousness meant by this text. I am the creator of Spanish Rose, a transgender fighter in Go Fight Pow. My daughter is a trans teen, male to female, and the road as a single father and advocate has been a difficult and beautiful time for me. In all of this time- and through other high and low points in my rather long liife (55 years), Filsinger Games and COTG have carried me. I have played versions of my fed since I am 18. I posted this out of curiosity, and there have been some excellent, positive responses - and some downright awful ones. The original post inquires about a lifestyle of some alien life forms in the GWF world. How can that be a huge deal? My connection with the LBGTQ+ community in reality (through my daughter and through friends) has been strong. Through them, I have learned many lessons, one of which is to live and not exist. So the post was written with curiosity of the GWF Universe and not political. Thank you for those who supported this post and didn't make a HUGE deal about the inquiry. It would be very interesting to know of the sexualities of some of these stars as it would play into storylines. Why does every storyline (Ms. Liberty and Adam Blast for example) have to be hetero-normative when the universe is a HUGE and WIDE place?? Thank you, Pete, bear, and Dustin, for supporting this topic which still has not been addressed...

"It's up to you, promoter" has been a core tenet of the game from the beginning but I feel like it's used more to stifle discussion than add to it. The aforementioned Star Warrior/Bloodline retcon was done because of fan pressure. If it's "up to you promoter" why did anyone want Tom to make the change official? Just make him the father in your fed and be done with it, right? Why get worked up over the Alpha Stone being fake if you can just ignore it?
The answer is because to most people, the official story matters, even if they deviate from it.

I think the way some of your messages have come across before maybe made people question the purpose of this one, but thank you for sharing your story with us. My sister is trans (same as your daughter, male to female) and so have done a lot of learning over the last few years. Seeing representation for people who don't always get to see people like them in certain kinds of roles is really important, and it's very easy to dismiss that if it isn't something you have ever had to consider or think about. In the real world, seeing things like the way the Oklahoma commission treated Nyla Rose was awful. I'm in the UK and the way the news media here will focus on the bad things a specific trans person may have done - particularly a crime for example - and using that to stoke hatred towards the entire community is always infuriating. And I think those things back up the importance of representation even more |
