.... Pride Month by discussing our favorite GWF grapplers who we think are a part of this community! Any ideas who would fall into this community and why they stand out for you? Happy Pride, promoters!

I think I've said this before, but it really wouldn't be a bad idea to have an outed LGBTQ+ wrestler in the COTG-verse. We have multiple outed wrestlers active right now (with another one from AEW just coming out today, Bronson of Bear Country/the Iron Savages) and I have to think we'd only get more a hundred years in the future.
And before anyone complains about forced inclusion, inclusion has mattered to COTG from the very beginning when Chuck Carter pointed out to Tom that there were no Black wrestlers on the roster and that maybe Lord Nexus should be one instead of the Star Warrior-looking guy he was originally planned to be.

Are we really feeding into this? I guess my questioned would be, why does it matter? I for one could care less about the sexual orientation of my 'phantasy-make believe' characters. Pete you are comparing 'real world' wrestlers with make believe ones, so again I ask why does it matter. Do you think the Cygnus race is upset because there are no blue scaled warriors represented in the GWF?!? NO?? Why? Oh right, because they're not real.

Would they care about if there were Black humanoids in the GWF? It was still important to have them.
Dr. Carl Sagan on The Tonight Show pointed out 50 years ago that it was curious how there were no black people in the original Star Wars, an observation that George Lucas took to heart in creating Lando Calrissian for the second film. The original Star Trek was groundbreaking in having a Russian (near the height of the Cold War) and a black woman on the main bridge.
It doesn't mean that it can't be done badly or clumsily, like in that horrible Next Generation episode with the unisex alien race. And it doesn't have to be a defining characteristic of the person. But I still don't think it would be a bad idea.

As an educator, fantasy representation is just as important, if not more important at times, as real representation.

That's different on a whole other level. I'm not going to debate you, because I'm not 'nearly' as articulate as you and I would lose horribly, but race is one thing and sexual orientation a complete other. That 'make-believe' character drawing on ANY card can be whatever sexual orientation you want them to be, me personally I never even thought about it because it makes no difference in the 'game'. IT'S UP TO YOU PROMOTER! (or does it have to be spelled out in the book to appease people? IDK)

there should be no reason for negative posts to this thread. if you dont like the the thread ignore it and move on. fans of Filsinger Games whether members of the LGB community or not, should not be attacked or made to feel they are being attacked for a simple discussion about characters of the game they enjoy.
