One interesting thing I'd like to mention is that there's a trans character in Go. Fight. Pow! Yes, the card was fan created... but it is semi-official.
I think it's only a matter of time before we have the representation in COTG. We already have it in LOW/Indy.

I fashioned her after Sasha Banks, J-Lo, and my daughter who is a transteen! Show some love!!

I didn't know it was you that created Spanish Rose. It's such a great character. I apologize for calling you a troll. I now know who you are, Steve.

Alright, I know I should just let it go, but sometimes we don't always do what we should. So here goes.
Why would anyone be so sex obsessed about a game that has nothing to do with sex? Why should everything revolve around who someone has physical relations with or what set of reproductive parts they have? Should it matter? I can think of hundreds of more interesting character traits. I personally don't care what people do with their private time as long as it's consenting adults, but I also don't want to hear about it constantly.

In real life we're seeing the Oklahoma Wrestling Commission try to ban Nyla Rose from competing in a worked pseudosport because she's trans, so yes, I'd say it matters. There was also the incident with Rick Steiner harrassing Giselle Shaw at a wrestling convention, so it clearly matters to him (for reasons defying comprehension).
While they're not a purely sex-based storylines, we do have romance storylines in COTG and in wrestling going back 40+ years. I don't see anyone complaining about not wanting to hear about Jake & Cheryl Roberts, or Triple H & Stephanie, or Randy Savage & Elizabeth, or U.S. Patriot & Ms. Liberty, or Endgame & Cosmic Woman and their relationships.
In fact, now that I think about it, the presence of aliens almost leads me to think non-heteronormative relationships should be *more* emphasized rather than less or not at all. This was another criticism of Star Trek at least in the Next Generation-era--that every single alien race (except that stupid unisex one) seemed to be built around American-style nuclear families and that polyamory, homosexuality, asexuality, hermaphroditism, etc. didn't seem to exist in any corner of the universe, which doesn't strike me as realistic by the standards of a show about aliens in the future.
It's not necessarily an easy balance--you want even your alien characters to be relatable so they're still going to gravitate towards Earth-style humanity. But if you're going for "realistic"...the personal lives of wrestlers are out there. In real life and sometimes in storyline. It seems far less realistic to pretend they don't exist at all.

Are we really feeding into this? I guess my questioned would be, why does it matter? I for one could care less about the sexual orientation of my 'phantasy-make believe' characters. Pete you are comparing 'real world' wrestlers with make believe ones, so again I ask why does it matter. Do you think the Cygnus race is upset because there are no blue scaled warriors represented in the GWF?!? NO?? Why? Oh right, because they're not real. The Cygnusians HATE humans and humanoids, KB.....

Why should everything revolve around what set of reproductive parts they have? Did Monad have two dicks? Because landing on two sets of balls a lot would help further explain that super high PIN rating.

If you Google gay wrestlers, I only see three that really go out of there way to let everyone know they're gay, and it's usually gimmick related. Most of the "gayest" stuff, I recall, came from straight wrestlers during the Attitude Era. Outside of Effy, Sonny Kiss, and Orlando Jordan, most of these wrestlers never really go out of there way to "push it in everyone's face." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:LGBT_professional_wrestlersI think it's fine when Alex Kane sends out a Pride post on Twitter/X during one month out of the year. Hell, most wrestling fans have been posting t&a pictures and lusting after 'em for decades. Only the Christians bat an eye at that. We were constantly shown Debra and Sable. It was always in our face. Imagine if it was the other way around? Fox News would then actually have an argument. However, it's not really as bad as it seems to certain folk... and I'm a married straight guy. Chris Kanyon mattered. Nyla Rose matters. Pat Patterson mattered. It's important for females to see Sonya Devilles and not just Sunnys. It's important to see Anthony Bowens and not just Dwayne Johnsons.
