It's Bootlegs of Wrestling teaser season...

This will be an 8 card set like most of the Bootlegs of Wrestling sets and has a loose focus on "forgotten or underrated" champions. All cards in this set have brand new artwork by the incomparable Werner Mueck.

This week's teaser is a multiple time world champion, holding multiple versions of the top prize, and a 3 time hall of fame inductee, being included in the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame, the Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame, and the first class of the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame. He had a hand in teaching Lou Thesz how to hook, and he was considered to be a very dangerous legitimate hooker in a time when a lot of wrestlers could claim to have at least some legitimate ability. Welcome Ray Steele to the Bootlegs of Wrestling lineup.



Pre-orders for this set are now open, and will run until Sept. 30th. So you guys have plenty of advance notice and a full month to get your order in, hopefully this will be enough time for everyone who wants a set to get their orders in so no one misses out. I plan to get these to the printers in the first week of October, and in the mail by or before the 2nd week of October.

I have a physical copy of the Mascaras bootleg, but it may be something I had printed myself...I don't remember.

But if he was only in PDF Prime, then yes, he was PDF only as far as format availability is concerned.

This week's teaser was the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion for 3+ years, held the AWA World Title and the JWA's International Title for short stints, as well as a slew of tag team championships all over the world. He is a multiple time hall of fame inductee. Touted as "Canada's Greatest Athlete", he was one of the first openly heel NWA champions. This only describes one man, Gene Kiniski.

This week's teaser was a multiple time British and European heavyweight champion, he also held the World Heavyweight Championship as recognized in Europe. Known as a particularly dangerous, and often times vicious, catch wrestler, he was not above legitimately injuring opponents he felt were beneath him. This man's campaign of terror against Shirley Crabtree, later known as Big Daddy, when Crabtree won the British Heavyweight Championship, forced Crabtree to retire for more than half a decade rather than face the possibility of a match against this man. If you're familiar with British wrestling history, this is obviously Bert Assirati.
