The Announcement Trainer Jim's Combat Sports Club - Titan, Saturn The gathered press make small talk as they await the arrival of Titan's greatest boxer. Billy Jo Boxer enters the room flashing his galaxy famous smile. Billy Jo works the room as he makes his way to the podium. He learned a long time ago that having the press in his corner is almost as important as having a good cut man. Billy Jo reaches the podium and looks thoughtfully at the gathered crowd. He clears his throat and delivers the carefully crafted and focus group tested message that has been prepared for him by his Public Relations Manager. "Thank you all for taking the time out of your busy days to be with me here at Trainer Jim's Combat Sports Club, where I first put on a pair of gloves. On that day, I never could have possibly imagined the bright future that lay in front of me. Boxing has allowed me so see that galaxy. Boxing has provided me with a level of financial stability I never could have imagined. Boxing has allowed me to meet and embrace so many wonderful people that I consider to be my dearest friends today. In short, boxing has made me the man I am today." Billy Jo continues, "But as much as I appreciate what boxing has given me, I am not sure how much it has left to offer. I have nothing left to prove. I have nobody left to fight. Boxing no longer makes me feel like I did when I first laced up my gloves in this very gym. And because of that, I am announcing my retirement from boxing. This is not a decision that I made lightly. And unlike the last two times that I retired, this time I am certain that I am not coming back." Billy Jo pauses, and a reporter takes the bait, "Billy Jo, how can you be so sure that your retirement is going to stick? Why should we believe that we won't be back here in six months listening to you announcing your return to boxing and hyping up your next bout?" Billy Jo flashes that galaxy famous smile and replies, "Because I have decided to take my talents to the GWF."

GWN - Galactic Wrestling News August 25, 2087 GWF News and Rumors There is a lot of noise coming from the Federation Defense Fighter's camp. Omega has looked awful in the ring this year, and his latest injury is yet another major setback for him. Omega and the FDF are saying that the plan is to get Omega healthy and back to competing at the highest level of the GWF, but their actions indicate that they are getting some contingency plans in place for his eventual in ring retirement. Commander Sam will be conducting open tryouts on Cetus and Earth over the next few weeks. There are also unsubstantiated rumors that Omega is drafting paperwork to revise the GWF bylaws to allow for non-wrestlers to function in an official capacity with the Federation office. If this is true, Omega's in-ring retirement could be rapidly approaching. It's no surprise that the GWF is looking to leverage their recent commercial success into future growth opportunities. Right now, their growth strategy appears to be gradual roster expansion and penetration into new viewership markets. Both Omega and Thantos seem to understand the importance of not overworking the talent and want everyone to typically wrestle no more frequently than once a month. We are hearing from multiple sources that Comrade Terror is very frustrated with the booking. He is lobbying hard behind the scenes for more hardcore matches and the re-institution of the GWF Heavy Metal Title. The Norse Gods impressed in their GWF debut and seem to be making quite the impression in the Confederation locker room, with several un-named wrestlers describing them as "weirdos" and "goof balls". The Gladiators of Aethra are on record with their dislike of the new team, but that may be more due to insecurity than anything else. Speaking of the Gladiators, nobody can figure out what is wrong with them. All indications are that Brute and Massacre are both healthy and that there are no personal issues or hard feelings between the two of them. They have asked Aethra's number one wrestler, Spike, to join them for a few training sessions to see if he can figure out what is holding them back. The recent success of Wolf has resulted in nearly the entire planet of Andromeda 13 becoming rabid GWF fans overnight. Look for an event to be scheduled there in the near future.

His features hidden by his cloak pulled over his face. "I appreciate you taking the time to meet with me. I trust you have reviewed the footage that I sent you." Omega replies, "Yes, and I am glad that I did. I usually throw stuff like that right in the trash. I like what I saw, and I am interested in having you train with the Federation Defense Fighters as soon as you are available." The man chuckles, "Well, my contractual situation is murky; but let's just say that any contractual obligations that I may have are certainly completely unenforceable . I travel light. I can be where ever I am needed and can start right away." Omega looks at the man, trying to get a better sense of him. "Regarding your compensation, you will need to come in to the GWF under a standard contract. Despite your significant talents, you are a virtual unknown to our fan-base. We wouldn't be able to justify any additional compensation. Of course, the FDF can provide you with state of the art training facilities, nutritionists and even temporary lodging until you get on your feet." The man replies, "That would be fine. I understand my situation and am prepared to demonstrate my worth. I do have one question though. Why didn't you throw my footage in the trash? Why did you review it?" Omega smiles, "It's not every day I get mail from Dimension X." Galaxian Championship Title Match Wolf vs. Thantos Wolf defeated Thantos with by DQ after an attack with a steel chair Match Notes: Thantos controlled the match, but Wolf was able to break two separate MASTERLOCKS. Wolf exited the ring to collect himself, and Thantos took the bait. Wolf executed a devastating backwards leg sweep and Thantos cracked his head hard on the concrete floor. Groggy and disoriented, Thantos used the announcer's table to pull himself up. In despiration he grabbed a steel chair and levelled Wolf with it! Thantos was disqualified and Wolf retained the Galaxian Championship Title.
