Joint Press Conference
GWF Headquarters - Deimos, Mars
July 10, 2088
The press was gathered and in their seats when the Flying Titans entered from the right side of the stage and occupied the area behind the right podium. He patiently waited for a few moments, then the Royal Court entered from the left side of the stage and stood behind Exo-King, who approached the left podium.
With everyone in place, Lord Nexus began, "Welcome members of the press, and thank you for joining us on this momentous occasion. As you are well aware, we have been working tirelessly to identify a suitable opponent to compete against Hale in the GWF's first women's match. I am pleased to announce that after much hard work, we have finally broken the gender barrier in the GWF and have found an opponent for Hale. We would not be here in front of you today without the efforts and support of Exo-King. He has been a tremendous partner in making this historic event a reality."
Exo-King seamlessly interjects himself into the conversation, "Thank you Lord Nexus. As a father of three daughters, I recognized the importance of getting this done, and getting this done correctly. Killer Queen and I performed an exhaustive search and conducted a series of tryouts and training sessions to make sure that we put together a memorable match for this historic event. We are not prepared to announce a date yet, but I assure you that this match will happen before year's end. Now our newest member is here, and I am going to introduce her in a moment, but I think it would be fitting for us to hear from Hale first. After all, she has been waiting an awful long time for this moment."
Hale steps up to the Flying Titan's podium, "For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a wrestler. And as for long as I can remember, I dreamt of wrestling in the GWF. My earliest hero was K.O. Keller, I had an autographed poster of Paladin Power hanging over my bed. Well actually, that poster is still hanging over my bed. I was in the audience when Lord Nexus made his GWF debut, and his speed and ability took my breath away. I can't believe that I am fortunate enough to have him as a mentor. I understand the tremendous opportunity that I have been given, and I assure all of you that I will make the most of it."
Hale nods at Exo-King, and he steps back up to his podium, "And without further ado, I introduce the newest member of the Royal Court, Princess Pain!"
A somewhat physically imposing woman stepped up onto the stage. She was dressed all in white and wore a tiara. Her most striking features were a shock of white that cleaved the middle of her chestnut hair, and here completely clear eyes. She did not have a trace of a pupil or any pigmentation. It was not clear if this was due to genetics or cosmetics. She stood a full head taller than Hale. She stepped up to the podium, made an attempt at a smile and began, "It's great to be here with you today, and I just want to say, I can't wait to get into the ring and show you what I can do. The GWF is lucky to have me, and I intend to be here for a while. I understand my opponent is highly regarded, but you simply would not believe the amount of crap I had to go through to get this gig. I am certainly going to make the most of it."
Lord Nexus opened the floor to questions.
Question: "When is this match going to happen, and will there be any stipulations?"
Lord Nexus: "There a lot that needs to happen behind the scenes when we onboard a new wrestler and Princess Pain has prior commitments. Hale is ready to go, and Exo-King has assured me that this match will happen before the end of the year. As far as stipulations, none have been suggested but to be fair we have not discussed them in particular. I suspect that this first match will be a traditional singles match, but that is my personal speculation."
Question: "Moonstrike or Solar Flare?"
Hale: "Uh-uh. I don't play favorites. Next question."
Question: "Princess Pain, tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? Where have you wrestled?"
Princess Pain: "Don't concern yourself with my past. You should just be happy I am in your present."
Question: "How is the mood on the Flying Titans?"
Lord Nexus: "It's great. We are here celebrating Hale."
Billy Jo Boxer: "That's right. I for one can't wait to see Hale get in there and shake her stuff!"
Pit Viper: "Alright. I'll say it. We're in the process of figuring some things out. We're not all on the same page, and I'm not sure we are going to get there. I've been disappointed by the actions taken by some of my teammates in the ring and the thoughts expressed by some of my teammates outside of the ring. I will say that Hale has been a breath of fresh air and I have thoroughly enjoyed her presence on the team."
Question: "It's been reported that the Royal Court has been approached to field a tag-team for the Confederation. Can you confirm this and has the Royal Court firmed up their tag-team plans?"
Duke of Destruction: "Of course we are fielding a tag-team! It dawned on me when Bishop Hell and I had singles matches against members of Animal Pack. Bishop Hell and I will be the Royal Court tag-team. However, I will no longer answer to the moniker Duke of Destruction. I am now Cardinal of Destruction! Our tag team is The Ordained! And since a Cardinal outranks a Bishop, I am the captain of the teg team! Scepter me Bishop Hell!"
Based on the reaction of the remainder of the Royal Court, Duke of Destruction has gone rogue. Killer Queen steps forward to grab the microphone from him, but before he can get there Bishop Hell unleashes HELLFIRE on him! Duke of Destruction crumples to the ground and Bishop Hell starts kicking him in the head. Both Death Knight and Killer Queen join in. Exo-King eventually restores order and helps Duke of Destruction to his feet. Duke of Destruction is a singed, charred and bloody mess. Exo-King very calmly tells him, "This isn't working out. You are no longer a member of the Royal Court and you are no longer a member of the Confederation. You are hereby officially fired from the GWF. The next time I see you, I will be the one kicking you while you are down."
