Admittedly, I am behind the curve when it comes to being current on Filsinger Games products. So it's no big surprise that this past weekend at Galacticon, I entered the MMA Tournament and found that I really really like it! Great stuff!

ya, I just got the MMA download of POW, and have played a few matches. Still trying to learn the rules, but I like it.

I like it but the downside is..perhaps even more than wrestling matches, some POW matches can go forever due to no automatic roll for KO and Sub. Perhaps once they implement a good way to keep track of time for rounds.

That's the plan. It will more than likely be chart-based somehow, but don't hold me to that.

Yeah. There is that.....I guess you could call it an advantage. It definitely does replicate what I have seen of MMA for sure.

After doing some playtesting., I can say that Shylock is a friggin' MMA beast. He is the Fedor of the POW set, hands down.

I like it as well. Its a fed that could either drive you crazy with no finishing moves on level 3 offense or with the length of some of the fights or make you fall in love with how smooth and believable the action is. I really like it and actually tried starting, and successfully running, a fed last year but couldnt keep running it due to time constants. If, when, I win the lottery I promise to try and run every fed in the COTG universe, except a LOW fed since I like leaving history the way it is, and also get Tom to create a TV Show, animation/cartoon, for COTG and the GWF. =)

The idea behind not having finishers was because a good MMA fighter will logically have more than one or two ways to finish a match. So really, if KO/SUB is rolled after a move, then you're potentially adding a "finisher" rating to it, depending on the difference between the offensive and defensive fighters' power on that level. We didn't want anything above +3 just because it keeps things more realistic. I understand that can make for longer matches, but that's also part of the realism.
Really want a good way to do rounds, though. Then all would be complete.
