Title Match: Nick Bockwinkel vs Buddy Rogers at PPV
PPV #1: GROUND ZERO
Commissioner Jesse Ventura heads to the ring with his assistants Adrian Adonis and Freddie Blassie.
JV: It's so great to be a part of professional wrestling again. It has been a long time coming, and I am very grateful for the opportunity that the BCW has given me. Enough of that emotional crap, lets talk wrestling!!! The main event has been decided for our first pay-per-view tonight. To determine the first ever BCW world champion, Buddy Rogers will do battle with Nick Bockwinkel. These men have shown great heart in getting through the 16 man tournament to get this far, and I wish them both the best of luck in their match tonight. Here is the list of the total card for our great first PPV:
BCW World Title Match:
Buddy Rogers vs Nick Bockwinkel (w/ Bobby Heenan)
BCW Tag Team Title Match:
The Road Warriors (w/ Paul Ellering) vs The Valliants (w/ Captain Lou)
BCW U.S. Championship
Nikolai Volkoff vs The Sandman
"Playboy" Buddy Rose vs Virgil
Jimmy Snuka vs The Giant Baba
Ted Dibiase vs George South
MATCH 1: The Giant Baba beats Jimmy Snuka with a NECKBREAKER DROP. The match went back and forth, Snuka looked like he was going to win the match. He goes up to the top rope for his SUPERFLY LEAP, and he misses. The Giant Baba picks him up and delivers his finisher and gets the win. Both men shook hands and left the ring. ***
Match 2: Buddy Rose beats Virgil with his BOMBS AWAY. Virgil surprisingly controlled most of the match, even applied his COBRA CLUTCH on 2 different occassions but the Playboy was too much for him. Once he hit his finisher, that was all for Virgil. **
Match 3: Ted Dibiase beats George South with his MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER. This match went about how I expected, a pretty dominating outing from beginning to end. At the end of the match, Dibiase proclaims that he and Virgil will take the tag titles in the near future. *
Match 4: Nikolai Volkoff heads to the ring, feeling very confident with Nikita Breznikov by his side. Nikita grabs the mic and proclaims that the title will be called the USSR title once Volkoff wins the title. The crowd booes and throws garbage into the ring. The Sandman's music hits, and the Sandman heads to the ring through the crowd. He has his singapore cane in one hand and a beer in the other. The crowd is happy to see him. Then the Sandman's music stops. Then the anthem for the Commissioner hits. Ventura walks down the aisle and addresses the crowd.
JV: Sandman you are hardcore. You are what extreme is all about. I have a little proposition for you tonight. If you are willing to give up your US Championship Title match tonight, I will put you in a match vs Sabu on our next card for the BCW Xtreme Championship! Also, in the near future, you will be given a title shot at the US Championship. What do you say?
Sandman: Who would fight in my place tonight???
The music blares and down the aisle walks Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
HJD: Im gonna win the title for the USA, tough guy!!! HYOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Sandman: I came to fight, and I want an opponent tonight.
As he turns around, Nikolai Volkoff hits The Sandman with a steel chair. The Sandman is dazed.
NV: You want a fight, then you can fight my main man Nikita Breznikov!!!!!
Match 4: The Sandman defeats Nikita Breznikov with the HARDCORE DDT. Breznikov started out dominating the match, beating on The Sandman over and over. Once Sandman got control, he was clearly upset, and put the Russian away quickly. **
Sandman: Duggan, I gave up my title match for you, you better not disappoint these people or you will pay dearly!!! I got beer to drink!!!!
The Sandman heads through the crowd and out of the arena.
Match 5: The Road Warriors defeat the Valliant Brothers with the DOOMSDAY DEVICE. The match started out pretty even, then it quickly went downhill for the Valiants. Johnny V got stuck in the ring, failing defensive tags 5 times. Animal was merciless, hitting 3 spike piledrivers and a powerslam on Johnny while he was unable to tag Jimmy. Nothing was working for the Valiants, and they left the ring with Jimmy and Captain Lou helping Johnny to the locker room. ***
Match 6: BCW U.S. Championship: Nikolai Volkoff beats Jim Duggan by DQ when Volkoff rams Duggan's head into the steel post. A back and forth match with a very disappointing ending. DUD
Volkoff grabs the U.S. Title and raises it above his head. Commissioner Ventura heads to the ring.
JV: This title is far too important to be decided by a DQ. The title remains vacant. On our first televised show tomorrow night on NITRO, Nikolai Volkoff will meet Jim Duggan in a steel cage to decide the winner!!! (Crowd goes wild) Nikolai takes the belt and throws it at Ventura, saying if Duggan would have won the title, this decision would have been a lot different.
Match 7: BCW World Title Match: Buddy Rogers defeats Nick Bockwinkel with his FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE to become the first BCW World Champion!! Ventura decides after the US Title match that this match needs a clear winner, so he bans Bobby Heenan from ringside. A back and forth match where Bockwinkel applled both of his finishing holds, but Rogers managed to escape. Once Rogers got the GRAPEVINE applied, Bockwinkel quickly tapped out. A quality match overall. Bobby Heenan comes from the locker room and escorts Bockwinkel back to the locker room. ***
My thoughts: My first Legends of Wrestling Card. I had a blast playing the matches. Disappointed that the US Title match ended this way, was hoping someone would cleanly win this one. Duggan has the better cage rating, but on paper Volkoff looks like the better wrestler. Reading all the other feds on the site, the BCW has a lot to live up to!! Hope you enjoyed my write-up as much as I enjoyed playing the matches!!!!
Card 1 : Monday Nitro
Double MAIN EVENT:
BCW US Title Match: Nikolai Volkoff vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan in a STEEL CAGE!!
BCW XTREME TITLE Match: The Sandman vs Sabu in a BARBED WIRE STEEL CAGE MATCH

Welcome to the first edition of NITRO
Card 1: Monday NITRO on FX
Jesee Ventura heads to the ring with Adrian Adonis.
JV: Welcome to NITRO!!!!! We have a great show lined up for you tonight. A double main event, Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Nikolai Volkoff in a steel cage for the U.S. Championship!!!(pop) Also we have Sabu vs Sandman in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match for the BCW Xtreme Championship! (pop) Plus 4 other great matches. Lets head to the ring!
Adrian Adonis stands beside Ventura in his bodyguard pose, not saying a word.
Match 1: King Kong Bundy (w/ Bobby Heenan) defeats Giant Baba with the AVALANCHE and a surprising 5 count. This match was pretty good, going back and forth the whole way. Baba hits his NECKBREAKER DROP, and Bundy is severely hurt. Heenan interferes in the match, distracting Baba. Bundy manages to stagger to his feet and deliver the AVALANCHE and pin Baba for the 3 count. Then it came to no surprise as Bundy gave the signal for the 5 count, and the referee ablidged as a stunned crowd looks on. Bundy and Heenan leave the ring where Heenan points to his head as he laughes at the fallen Baba struggling to get to his feet in the ring. ****
Match 2: Buff Bagwell defeats George South with the BUFF BLOCKBUSTER. Actually a lot better match then on paper. Back and forth match where South looked like he actually he would pull the upset, even attempting 2 covers in the match. But eventually there was too much Buff Daddy. ***
Match 3: Killer Kowalski defeats Gorgeous George with the Claw hold. Dominiating bout by Kowalski where he beat George from pillar to post to easily defeat The Gorgeous One.
Match 4: BCW U.S. Title Match: Nikolai Volkoff defeats Hacksaw Jim Duggan to become the first U.S. Champion! Really good competitive match where both men tried to escape from the cage 3 times each with the opponent stopping them each time. Eventually Volkoff was too much for Duggan as he delivered some crushing blows and escaped the cage. Nikolai grabs the belt and declares the belt the USSR Title as he had promised. Garbage and booes flooded the ring. ****
Match 5: Jimmy Snuka and Bobo Brazil defeat the Valiants (w/ Captain Lou) when Brazil delivers the COCO BUTT several times to Johnny to pick up the win. Jimmy and Snuka went back and forth throughout the opening minutes of the match. Disaster hits yet again when Johnny comes into the ring. Johnny has the loaded dice of ones as he fails several defensive tags. Johnny shows his displeasure with Captain Lou as the 2nd match in a row the referee doesnt fall for his distractions and Johnny is pinned.
Match 6: BCW XTREME Championship BARBED WIRE STEEL CAGE MATCH: Sabu defeats The Sandman in a bloody match. The Sandman took quite a beating in this one, taking several shots into the barbed wire. Eventually The Sandman could not continue as Sabu became the first Xtreme Champion! The Sandman is carried from the ring injured for 4 fight cards, so his U.S. Title match will have to wait a few weeks.
My thoughts: A very fun card to play. Duggan fought his heart out, but it just wasnt enough. Very entertaining match to play. Was hoping Duggan would win the match, but the dice didnt cooperate. The Sabu/Sandman contest was a bloody mess and very enjoyable to play. Kicking off the card with the Baba/Bundy match was a great way to start the first NITRO card. 5 really good matches and 1 DUD isnt really a bad way to get the BCW underway. The FX network must have been happy with their initial broadcacst of the BCW.
On tap: 2 House shows that will be reported by Freddie Blassie followed by NITRO next week.

Card 2 and Card 3: House Shows
Reported on by Freddie Blassie
Our first house shows since we got our TV contract, so listen up to the results you pencil-neck geeks!! Things went pretty smoothly with some shocking upsets that will impact this weeks NITRO broadcast.
The Blond Bombers (Playboy Buddy Rose and Pretty Boy Larry Sharpe ) defeat the Dream Team in a shocking upset!! The match many thought would be a warm-up match for the Dream Team turned out to be a disaster. Rose started out the match hitting a few moves then hits a power move and goes for the pin. Albano in total disbelief in how Valentine is being dominated, jumps up on the apron and tries to distract, but the distraction failed. Valentine is pinned for the 3 count very early in the match. Beefcake and Valentine are visably upset at Albano as they leave the ring.
Johnny Valentine defeats Harley Race. After the match, Greg Valentine rolls into the ring, and the Valentines double-team Race injuring him for 4 fight cards. Where were Beefcake and Albano during all this?? In Albano's defense, Johnny is not his manager, but is normally involved in anything that the younger Valentine is. I wonder if Race is rethinking his decision not to be managed by Bobby Heenan due to personal differences with Nick Bockwinkel.
BCW World Title Match: The Destroyer defeats Buddy Rogers (c) by DQ when the 2 battled on the arena floor and Rogers hit The Destroyer with the ring bell. I think the referee would have let it go, but the Destroyer dropped like a ton of bricks, and it was obvious that he would not be able to continue and left the referee no choice but to call for the bell.
BCW XTREME CHAMPIONSHIP: Sabu defeats George South with the TRIPLE MOONSAULT (+5). Sabu impresses yet again with his high flying brutality. I tried to compliment Sabu saying that his dominance in BCW reminds me of his uncle The Sheik. He just muttered that he was his own man, and didnt want to talk about The Sheik.
BCW U.S.S.R. Championship: Nikolai Volkoff (w/ Nikita Breznikov) defeats Hacksaw Jim Duggan with the BACKBREAKER DROP. Duggan fought his heart out yet again, but yet again it was not enough. Volkoff took 2 FLYING SPEARS, but Duggan did a great job at keeping Breznikov at bay, not falling for his distractions and interference attempts.
Preview for Monday NITRO:
DOUBLE MAIN EVENT:
BCW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: THE ROAD WARRIORS (c) VS TED DIBIASE AND VIRGIL.
BCW WORLD TITLE MATCH: Buddy Rogers (c) vs The Destroyer.
Plus 6 other matches!!!

Card 4: Monday NITRO on FX
Jesse Ventura heads to the ring with Adrian Adonis.
JV: We have a very exciting show lined up for you guys tonight. In the double main event, we have Buddy Rogers putting his BCW World Title on the line vs The Destroyer. The Destroyer beat Rogers by DQ in a recent house show earning him a title match. The Road Warriors accept the challenge of Dibiase and Virgil for the BCW Tag Team Title match. The Road Warriors were not obligated to defend the belts against them, but they feel they need to prove a point. Lets get the matches underway!!!!
King Kong Bundy (w/ Bobby Heenan) defeats Buff Bagwell with the AVALANCHE and the 5 count. A back and forth match. Bagwell controlled a lot of the match but just didnt have it in him to put Bundy away. Bagwell escaped 2 Bundy bear hugs, but when the AVALANCHE fell, Bagwell was down for 5. ***
Hacksaw Jim Duggan beats Gorgeous George by pinfall with the FLYING SPEAR. George managed to lock on his finishing hold on 2 occasions but Duggan escaped. The action went back and forth until Duggan rammed George's head into a table. Duggan throws George back into the ring, delivers the FLYING SPEAR and gets the 3 count. **
Nick Bockwinkel beats Killer Kowalski with the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. A great match that caused a lot of damage to both men. A lot of fighting outside the ring, some interference by Bobby Heenan, and both men were bleeding at the end of the match. After the match, Bockwinkel delivers some major damage to Kowalski injuring him for 8 cards. Kowalski left the ring on a stretcher. ****
Johnny Valentine defeats The Iron Sheik with the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER. A pretty easy win for Valentine as he dominated most of the match. Breznikov tried to interfere in the match, but to no avail as Valentine delivered his finisher 3 times in the match to finally get the 3 count. **
The Dream Team defeats The Blond Bombers when Greg Valentine makes Buddy Rose tap out to the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. The Dream Team asked Lou Albano to stay away from ringside in this match on the advice of Greg's father Johnny. A battle throughout, it looked like Rose was going to get another upset delivering the BOMBS AWAY to Beefcake, but he managed to kick out and tag in the Hammer. Rose managed to tag out to Larry Sharpe, but Sharpe got into trouble quickly and had to tag Rose back in. Once The Hammer got a hold of Rose a second time, it was over pretty quickly. Johnny Valentine came out to offer his congrats to his son on his big win. Albano came out to do the same thing but The Dream Team and Johnny ignored Albano and continued their celebration. ***
Frank Gotch and Ox Baker fought to a DOUBLE DQ outside the ring. This match was a total dud. This doesnt even deserve to be on the match report. Gotch delivers his second dud match in a row, and the fans let him know about it as he left the ring. DUD
BCW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Road Warriors (c) defeats Dibiase and Virgil by DQ when Virgil gets DQd outside the ring. A pretty good match, going back and forth. Dibiase was doing pretty well against Hawk, but when Animal got tagged in, he was not happy. He dominated both members of the team for most of the time, but couldnt put them away. Eventually Virgil had enough and rammed him into the steel post. Animal was hurt pretty bad and the ref had no choice but to DQ Virgil. Dibiase was not happy with the decision and argued vigoursly with the ref to no avail. ***
BCW World Championship Match: Buddy Rogers (c) defeats The Destroyer with the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. A battle to say the least. The Destroyer looked like he would win the title on 2 different occasions, getting his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK on Rogers twice, and both times Rogers managed to escape. Rogers finally took control and got a series of dropkicks to The Destroyer's left knee. The Destroyer tried to leave the ring, but Rogers didnt fall for it. He applied the GRAPVINE, and the Destroyer quickly tapped out. Fun match. After the match, Virgil went down to the ring area and tried to help The Destroyer back to the locker room, but The Destroyer wanted no part of it. *****
My thoughts: Pretty good card for the second episode of NITRO. King Kong Bundy continues to win and could be in line for a title shot in the near future. Duggan finally picks up a win in BCW by beating Gorgeous George. I thought for sure George was going to win that one. Bockwinkel is gunning pretty hard for a title match since losing the tournament final.
On deck: House show report for Cards 4 & 5 with Freddie Blassie.

Cards 5 and 6: House show reports by Freddie Blassie FB: We had some exciting events happen over the past week at the house shows. Some surprising results, some surprising appearances, and even a new #1 contender for the BCW World Title! Here we go, to the ring!!!!!!!!! BCW Xtreme Steel Cage Title Match: Sabu (c) defeats Ox Baker to retain his BCW Xtreme Title. Sabu puts on yet another dominant performance in knocking Baker all around the ring. Who is going to step up and give Sabu a real run at the belt? ** Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeats Frank Gotch by pinfall with 3 FLYING SPEARS. Duggan dominated the match, getting almost every move in his arsenal on Gotch before he finally couldnt kick out. Duggan looks like he is back on the trail of Volkoff with his 2nd surprising win in as many weeks. The Sandman, obviously frustrated with Duggan losing to Volkoff after giving him his title match, came out to the ring and tried to interfere in the match to help Gotch, but even that failed. Duggan will not forget what The Sandman tried to do. *** Bobo Brazil and Jimmy Snuka defeat The Dream Team when Snuka pins Beefcake with the SUPERFLY SWAT. A very good match throughout, Brazil dominated Valentine at the beginning. Valentine manages to tag in Beefcake, and the Dream Team looked like they would pull it off. A staggered Brazil manages to tag in Snuka, and he was on fire, quickly putting away Beefcake. Snuka and Brazil are on a collision course with The Road Warriors for a tag team title shot in the near future. *** Special Attraction: Tokyo Thunder Wrestling (TTW) Champion Yokozuna defeats "Iron" Mike Sharpe with the Banzai Drop. Yokozuna dominates the match from the start, quickly putting Sharpe away. I can see why Yoko had no problem putting the title up against Sharpe because he must have known that his opponent had no chance. ** BCW Tag Team Title Match: The Road Warriors defeat Ted Dibiase and Virgil when The Road Warriors deliver the DOOMSDAY DEVICE on Virgil. The Road Warriors dominate this match from beginning to end. Was nowhere near as competitive as their previous match as Hawk and Animal both decimate Virgil. Animal stops The Million Dollar Man from interfering with the 3 count. Paul Ellering looks very pleased with this outcome. ** The Valiants (w/ Captain Lou) defeat Dick Hutton and Red Bastien when Jimmy pins Dick Hutton using a flying body press. A pretty good match over all. Hutton and Bastien dominated the early part, tagging in and out, working over Johnny pretty badly. A stunned Johnny tags in Jimmy and he goes to work on Red. Red stumbles over to the corner after taking a beating and tags in Hutton. Hutton comes in on fire, connecting with several moves on Jimmy. But in the end, Jimmy got the move he needed and secured the win for his team. *** The Destroyer defeats Playboy Buddy Rose by countout when a surprise visitor gets Rose counted out. Surprisingly Rose started out dominating the match, getting several moves on the Destroyer including his BOMBS AWAY finisher. It looked like Rose was going to put him away, when Virgil came from the locker room and distracted Rose. Rose chased him around the ring, and before he realized what had happened, Buddy was counted out. The Destroyer shakes Virgil's hand, and Ted Dibiase comes to the ring and welcomes The Destroyer into the Million Dollar Corporation. **** BCW World Title #1 Contenders Match: Nick Bockwinkel (w/ Bobby Heenan) defeats Johnny Valentine with the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Valentine took control early with a bunch of high impact moves. He hits the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER, but Heenan distracts him and doesnt get the 3 count. That was just enough for Bockwinkel to take control of the match and get him the win. After the match, Brutus Beefcake heads to the ring and delivers the FLYING KNEE SMASH to Bockwinkel, and Nick is taken out of the ring on a stretcher severely injured. George South defeats The Sandman by DQ when the referee disqualifies The Sandman for hitting South with the SINGAPORE CANE. George South matches arent normally worth reporting, but I, Freddie Blassie, take my hat off to George for his efforts in this match. The Sandman dominated this whole match, but could not put South away. The Sandman delivered FIVE HARDCORE DDTs, and South kicked out of all of them The Sandman, obviously frustrated, decided he had enough of this and tried to finish him off with the SINGAPORE CANE, but the ref turned around just in time and caught him red handed. South was carried away from the ring on a stretcher, while The Sandman stood in the middle of the ring drinking beer and celebrating like he won the match. *** ON DECK: Monday NITRO Harley Race makes his return to the ring to face Greg Valentine, the man that injured him after a match with his father Johnny. Harley looks to take revenge out on the younger Valentine to send the old man a message. U.S.S.R. Title Match: Nikolai Volkoff (c) takes on The Sandman in his promised U.S. Title match. The Sandman looks to bring the title back to the U.S.A., something that Duggan couldnt get done in the past. King Kong Bundy takes on Johnny Valentine. Bundy looks to take revenge out in the name of Nick Bockwinkel when he goes after the older Valentine. PLUS 5 other matches!!! My thoughts: Some unforeseen happenings, the #1 contender getting injured after the match. I'm sure Bockwinkel will hobble into the match, at least thinking he has enough to take the title from Buddy Rogers. Nice to see The Valiants finally pick up a win in tag team action. Still stunned at how bad Frank Gotch is doing so far in the BCW. Maybe he will get things turned around soon, who knows.......... Cya on NITRO!!!!

Lets head to the ring!!!
Before the next match can start, a man emerges from the back. It's Jim Cornette!! What is he doing here?? He heads over to the broadcast table, and sits down next to Blassie and Monsoon.
FB: What are you doing here in BCW??
JC: It looks like you 2 bozos could use some help in the booth for awhile. I am here to dominate all the divisions of the BCW, and there isnt anything you guys can do about it!!!!
GM: Let's just get to the ring, what a first night!!
Match 1: The Destroyer (w/ Virgil) defeats Buff Bagwell with the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. A very good match, very competitive. Bagwell hit several dropkicks, but the Destroyer took control of the match when the action spilled outside the ring.***
Match 2: Bobo Brazil beats Road Warrior Hawk with 3 COCO BUTT finishers. Another good match that ended suddenly. Hawk controlled the early part of the match, but couldnt put Brazil away. Brazil came back with a vengeance and picked up the victory. ****
Match 3: Jimmy Snuka defeats Road Warrior Animal with the SUPERFLY LEAP (+3). Snuka dominated the match from beginning to end. Animal couldnt do anything right, as Snuka connected with everything he attempted. *
JC: Well thisi is my cue, time to go morons!!!!
Jim Cornette heads to the ring. Hacksaw Jim Duggan is announced and heads down the aisle. Duggan looks confused as Cornette is waiting in the ring.
JC: I am pleased to announce my newest client, and Duggan's opponent Frank Gotch!!!!!
Gotch heads to the ring, and he looks like a new man brimming with confidence.
Match 4: Frank Gotch (w/ Jim Cornette) defeats Hacksaw Jim Duggan when Duggan submits to the GOTCH TOEHOLD. A very competitive match, going back and forth the whole time. Cornette never even had to interfere, as Gotch picks up a clean win over Duggan. ****
Jim Cornette shakes Gotch's hand, but doesn't leave the ring. He signals for the mic to be passed into the ring.
JC: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! Let me introduce the greatest tag team of all time, The Midnight Express!!!
Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane head to the ring.
Monsoon: What is going on here?? I dont see The Midnight Express on our match list!!
Blassie: Who knows! Let's just go with the flow!!
Match 5: The Midnight Express defeats The Blond Bombers by DQ when Playboy Buddy Rose delivers the BOMBS AWAY to Stan Lane on the concrete floor . The Express dominated almost the entire match, and the Bombers were clearly frustrated. Rose had enough, and took matters into his own hands and got DQd. Highlight of the match was the ROCKET LAUNCHER delivered onto Larry Sharpe. ***
Match 6: Johnny Valentine defeats King Kong Bundy with the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER. Bundy started out fast, but Valentine finished faster as Valentine hit his finisher twice on Bundy to put him away. **
Match 7: Harley Race defeats Greg "The Hammer" Valentine by DQ when Brutus Beefcake interferes in the match. Race looked determined to take care of The Hammer, and dominated the match. Beefcake, in danger of seeing his buddy lose, charged into the ring and delivered a FLYING KNEE SMASH to Race, causing the DQ. The Dream Team stands in the ring with their hands in the air over a fallen Race. ***
The Main Event: Nkolai Volkoff defeats The Sandman to retain the BCW U.S.S.R. title by submission as The Sandman gives up to the BEAR HUG. Not much of a match really, Volkoff dominated from beginning to end. DUD
Nikita Breznikov grabs the mic.
NB: You Americans are weak!! Nikolai has dominated every wrestler you have sent at us. You have no chance of taking the title from him. You guys just need to........
As he is about to continue his tirade, Diamond Dallas Page comes out of the crowd and delivers the DIAMOND CUTTER to both Breznikov and Volkoff in the ring! The crowd goes wild, and DDP picks up the microphone and Volkoff's Title Belt.
DDP: Boys, meet your new BCW U.S. Champion!!! I will take this belt for good at the PPV Invasion.
DDP takes the belt and drops it on top of the fallen Volkoff, and leaves the ring. (End of show)
My thoughts: Things are heating up for the PPV. Maybe Cornette can jumpstart Gotch's career, so far so good!!! Was hoping for a clean win for the Express, but it was a win nevertheless. Should have some good cards as we approach the PPV.

Cards 8 and 9: House show report with Freddie Blassie
Blassie: We had some very exciting matches this week, including our first title changing hands in BCW! Lets get right to it.....
Bobo Brazil defeats Road Warrior Hawk by DQ. Paul Ellering interferes after the 3rd COCO BUTT, and the referee disqualifies him. Ellering was not a happy camper. **
Harley Race defeats Greg Valentine with the PILEDRIVER FINISHER. A relatively easy win for Race, dominating most of the action. *
Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeats Ox Baker by DQ when Baker rams Duggan into the steel post. A back and forth match, no one could land their finishers. A frustrated Baker finally had enough. **
The Midnight Express (Eaton/Lane) (w/ Jim Cornette) defeat The Blond Bombers (Rose and Sharpe) by pinfall when Lane hits Sharpe with a flying body press deathjump. A pretty easy match for the Express this time around. Neither Rose or Sharpe could get anything going. **
Frank Gotch (w/ Jim Cornette) defeats George South when South submits to the GOTCH TOEHOLD. George did his best to battle Gotch, but eventually South's legs were worn down pretty badly, and he was forced to quickly tap out. ***
BCW XTREME TITLE MATCH (Steel Cage):
The Sandman defeats Sabu (c) to become the NEW XTREME CHAMPION! A great match, each man getting in several moves. Sabu went to the Arabian Facebuster on 3 occasions, since it was a no dq match. The Sandman also got his moves in with a couple of HARDCORE DDT, and one shot with the SINGAPORE CANE. Sabu took control of the match, went up for the TRIPLE MOONSAULT, but The Sandman moved, picked up Sabu, and hit the HARDCORE DDT. Sabu was stunned just enough where Sandman could escape the cage and become the new champion! ****
Jimmy Snuka defeats Road Warrior Animal (w/ Paul Ellering) by DQ when Animal rams Snuka's head into a table. A very good match, where Ellering was involved pretty heavily. Snuka hit a SUPERFLY LEAP (+5), but Ellering jumped on the apron and successfully distracted Snuka. It allowed Animal to hit the POWERSLAM, but Snuka kicked out. Snuka manages to reverse things and throw Animal out of the ring, but thats when he got DQd. ***
Johnny Valentine defeats King Kong Bundy (w/ Bobby Heenan) with the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER. Bundy's attempt at revenge for the Bockwinkel injury falls short again, as the Valentine camp picks up another victory vs the Heenan Family. ***
The Giant Baba defeats The Iron Sheik (w/ Nikita Breznikov) when Breznikov's outside interference backfires. Baba just hit the NECKBREAKER DROP, when Breznikov could sense the Sheik was in trouble. He tried to hit Baba, but he moved and he hit The Sheik instead! That enabled Baba to pick up the victory. The Sheik was visably upset with Breznikov as they left the ring. ***
The Destroyer (w/ Virgil) beats Cousin Luke by submission as Luke taps out to the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. A surprisingly competitive match, Luke started out fast, and looked like he was going to pull the massive upset. But alas it was not to be. A pretty nice debut for Luke, even in defeat. ***
The Valiants(w/ Lou Albano) defeat The Million Dollar Corporation (Dibiase and Virgil) by DQ when Virgil rams Jimmy's head into the steel post. This one ended early, and the fans were disappointed. DUD
BCW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:
"Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers defeats "Iron" Mike Sharpe by submission as Sharpe taps out to the FIGURE FOUR GRAPVINE. Sharpe started out fast, but Rogers finally got control and put him away. Originally scheduled as a non-title, Rogers wanted to reward Sharpe for his bravery in fighting Yokozuna last week. ***
Monsoon: Hey Blassie, wait! I got some exciting news for you!
Blassie: Aw geez, you are always stealing my thunder! Go ahead.....
Monsoon. We are proud to announce that there will be a hardcore invitational tournament starting next week on NITRO. We have several invitations out, and we are hoping to fill an 8 man tournament. It should be very excting!
Blassie: Awesome! We love hardcore in BCW. Speaking of hardcore, the new BCW XTREME CHAMPION Sandman will put his title on the line at NITRO vs Sabu in a No-DQ match! This will be an awesome rematch. Can Sabu regain his title after losing it this past week in a great cage match? Tune in and see.........
Monsoon: One more thing, we have some good news and bad news in the BCW this week. On the negative side, Georgeous George, Red Bastien, and Dick Hutton have left the BCW to pursue other interests. We wish them nothing but the best. On the positive side, we have signed a few new wrestlers, Cousin Luke, Iron Mike Sharpe (Vintage Mayhem), and we have officially signed Diamond Dallas Page. And what Page said is correct, he will be making his BCW debut at Invasion in a USSR title match vs Nikolai Volkoff!! Cya all at NITRO!

Card 10: Monday NITRO Monsoon: Welcome to MONDAY NITRO! We have a great show lined up for you today! The Sandman puts up his newly won BCW Xtreme Championship against the former champion Sabu in a no DQ match! Also, Harley Race tries to get revenge on Team Valentine by taking on Johnny! Plus we have the opening round of the hardcore tournament. Blassie: Don't forget, The Valiants with Lou Albano try to take revenge against The Dream Team for turning their backs on Albano when he was only trying to help. Do you know what is going on with the hardcore tournament? Monsoon: It is an 8 man tournament, and only Ox Baker signed up for the match of our current stars. The Sandman had originally signed up, but since he won the Xtreme Championship, he was forced to withdraw. Buff Bagwell said that his friend Konnan will take his place. All guys except Baker are under contract for the tournament only. Contracts may be offered after the tournament is resolved, but nothing is definite at this time. Blassie: Geez, how do you know so much? Monsoon: Me and The Body have a long history together... Blassie: Fair enough, now lets head to the ring!! Match 1: The Dream Team defeats The Valiants (w/ Lou Albano) by DQ when Jimmy smashes Brutus Beefcake into a steel post. A quick match, was shaping up to be a good match. This feud is far from over. ** Monsoon: Don't you think it would have been better for The Valiants to win the match? Blassie: This isnt about winning matches, its about getting revenge for their manager. Unfortunately for the Valiants, it doesnt look like they got the job done. Jesse Ventura and Adrian Adonis head to the ring. Ventura: We at the BCW are proud to announce the hardcore tournament is beginning tonight. The match-ups have been drawn at random. The winner of the tournament gets a shot at the BCW XTREME Championship at INVASION. All matches will be no DQ in the tournament, and the winner gets to take on Xtreme Champion in a match of his chosing! Here is the opening round line-up: Timber vs Danny Doring Konnan vs The Missing Link Steve Corino vs Savage T Ox Baker vs Justin Credible Enough jabber, let's get it started! Match 2: Opening Contest Hardcore Tournament Timber defeats Danny Doring with the SPINEBUSTER. A pretty even match, that saw Timber finally putting Doring away. Neither man applied their finishers in the match. ** Monsoon: You have to consider that an upset Freddie. Blassie: I dont have to consider it anything. Doring looked like he wasnt focused in the match, and it cost him the victory. Match 3: Hardcore Opening Round Match Konnan defeats The Missing Link by submission with the Tequilla Sunrise. Konnan looks like he wants to stay in the BCW even after the tournament, with his relentless assault on Link. Link didnt even hardly put up a fight in this match. * Monsoon: I was really impressed with Konnan in this one. Blassie: The Missing Link is still missing, I guess. Match 4: The Giant Baba defeats The Destroyer (w/ Virgil) by DQ when Virgil interfered in the match. The Destroyer controlled a lot of the match, but couldn't put Baba away. Baba took control, delivered the NECKBREAKER DROP, and Virgil interfered and was disqualified. *** Monsoon: That darn Virgil ruined a pretty good match! Blassie: I'm sure he was just following Dibiase's instructions. He wants the newest Corporation member protected at all times, and thats what happened. Match 5: Opening Round Hardcore Tournament Steve Corinio defeats Savage T (w/ KJ Hill) by pinfall with the OLD SCHOOL EXPULSION. A great match, Savage T looked like he was gonna pull the upset, but for some reason he kept trying the VERTIBREAKER, and kept failing. Corino (242 pounds) was lucky T couldnt get his finisher on, and Corino rallied and won the match. **** Monsoon: Nice effort by both Corino and Savage T in this one Blassie. Blassie: You would have thought that KJ Hill would have told Savage T not to keep trying that move when Corino was obviously too heavy! Her distractions didnt even work! Match 6: Harley Race defeats Johnny Valentine with the PILEDRIVER. A pretty good match, Valentine had Race reeling at one point, but couldnt apply his finisher. Race took control with a diving headbutt and then delivered the PILEDRIVER. Valentine kicked out of the first one, but when the 2nd one was applied, it was all over. *** Monsoon: A nice win for Race in his feud with the Valentine family. Now he needs to get his hands on the man that injured him, The Hammer! Blassie: Yep Monsoon, that would be one hell of a match! Match 7: Opening Round Hardcore Tournament Justin Credible defeats Ox Baker with the THATS INCREDIBLE. A dominating win for Credible, Baker never really got out of the gate. A nice win for Justin in this one. ** Monsoon: What a nice debut for Justin Credible! Blassie: Not a surprise to me. Ox Baker has pretty much stunk since he got here. I was thinking he should get to pick his own opponent in this match since he was the only BCW employee involved, but I guess he is lucky to still have a job at this point. Monsoon: OOOH, harsh. Match 8: BCW XTREME CHAMPIONSHIP----no DQ The Sandman defeats Sabu to retain his BCW XTREME TITLE. Sabu took quick control early and looked like he was gonna win the match. Late in the match, Sabu heads to the top rope for the TRIPLE MOONSAULT, but misses. Sandman then gets the WHITE RUSSIAN LEGSWEEP on him and goes for the cover. Sabu kicks out. Hacksaw Jim Duggan heads to the ring, and gives The Sandman a shove. Then in a surprising move, he turns around and clobbers Sabu with the 2x4! Sandman picks up Sabu, and gives him the HARDCORE DDT and retains his title. **** Monsoon: What was Duggan doing? I thought his problem was with The Sandman, not Sabu! Blassie: Maybe he finally realized that The Sandman was right about what he did, and wanted to bury the hatchet. Monsoon: That makes no sense. Duggan and Sandman have had a rough relationship since BCW started! Blassie: How should I know how a guy with an IQ of 12 thinks? I'm sure Sabu won't be happy with this. Monsoon: Well next week in the tournament will be Konnan vs Timber, as well as Steve Corino vs Justin Credible in 2nd round action. Should be a good show! Cya next time!

Cards 11 and 12
House shows: Reported on by Freddie Blassie
The Valiants defeat the Dream Team by pinfall when Johnny pins Greg Valentine with the TOP ROPE ELBOW. Great match, and a great win for the Valiants. For good measure after the match, Johnny delivers a 2nd top rope elbow, injuring Greg Valentine for 7 cards. Valentine had just applied the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK when Albano interfered and allowed the top events to happen. *****
Sabu beats Hacksaw Jim Duggan with the ARABIAN FACEBUSTER. Sabu and Duggan were fighting pretty even, with Sabu pulling every dirty trick in the book. Sabu gets a sort of revenge on Duggan with the win. ***
"The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase defeats George South with the MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER. Easy win for Dibiase. *
Giant Baba defeats King Kong Bundy by pinfall with the NECKBREAKER DROP. Bundy dominated the early part of the match, hitting the AVALANCHE. But when he signaled for the 5 count, Baba kicked out at about 4 7/8 . Then Baba took over and started hurting Bundy. Heenan distracted Baba successfully allowing Bundy to take back over. Then Baba took control, and Heenan interfered and was sent back to the dressing room. Then Baba hit his NECKBREAKER DROP and got the 3 count. Was thinking about the 5 count, but decided against it. The feud between the giants is starting to heat up. ****
BCW Tag Team Championship Non-Title Match.
The Road Warriors (c) (w/ Paul Ellering) defeated The Midnight Express (Lane/Eaton) (w/ Jim Cornette) by pinfall with the Warriors ending it with a DOOMSDAY DEVICE. The Warriors dominated early, but the Express turned things around. Cornette tries to throw Eaton his tennis racket, it goes over his head and Hawk catches it and clocks Eaton with it! Then he tags in Animal and they deliver the finisher for the win. ***
Johnny Valentine beat Ox Baker by pinfall with the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER. Ox put up a fight for awhile but Johnny finally got the win. **
BCW USSR CHAMPIONSHIP NON-TITLE MATCH
Nikolai Volkoff (c) (w/ Nikita Breznikov) defeats Virgil by pinfall when Nikolai Volkoff nails Virgil with the Russian flag and then pins him. A very good match where Virgil looked like he was going to pull the upset. He actually applied the COBRA CLUTCH twice on Volkoff, but the 2nd time he was distracted by Breznikov and it cost him a win. ***
Harley Race beats Buff Bagwell by pinfall when Race hits the PILEDRIVER. Race looked very sharp in this win. **
The Iron Sheik defeats "Iron" Mike Sharpe by pinfall when the Iron Sheik delivered the LOADED BOOT. It was the loaded boot versus the loaded forearm pad, and the boot came out on top. **
Frank Gotch (w/ Jim Cornette) defeats Cousin Luke by submission to the GOTCH TOEHOLD. Cousin Luke looked good again in defeat, actually escaping the finisher the first time it was applied, and came back with some offense of his own. Gotch eventually took control, and won the match. ***
The Blond Bombers (Playboy Buddy Rose and Pretty Larry Sharpe) defeat Bobo Brazil and Jimmy Snuka by DQ when Brazil rams Rose's head into a steel post and is disqualified. A terrible match. Not the way Brazil and Snuka want to head into a title match with the Road Warriors by losing to the Bombers, especially very early in the match. DUD
Blassie: Some very good matches at the house shows this week. Baba finally gets a measure of revenge on Heenan and Bundy, but that feud is far from over. The Valiants make a big statement by defeating the Dream Team and having The Hammer carried out on a stretcher. Sabu seems to do better when he doesnt try the big moonsault, because the last 2 times he tried it, he left the ring without the BCW XTREME CHAMPIONSHIP. A sneak peak to NITRO:
Harley Race will get another shot at the Valentine family against Brutus Beefcake! Was supposed to wrestle Greg Valentine, but Valentine was injured and may not even be back in time for the PPV. Hoping the injuries on him arent as seroious as they looked.
Also, Bobo Brazil and Jimmy Snuka will team up and go after the Blond Bombers in a rematch! They want to prove again why they are the #1 contenders, and the Bombers are looking to pull the 2nd upset in as many matches!
Plus the 2nd round action of the Hardcore Tournament!
Plus 4 other great matches! See you pencil-neck geeks on NITRO!

Card 13: NITRO on FX
Monsoon: Welcome to Monday NITRO! I'm Gorilla Monsoon, and this is my partner, Freddie Blassie!
Blassie: Hi all you pencil neck geeks! We have a great line-up for you tonight! We have Round 2 of the Hardcore tournament, where Timber will take on Konnan! Also, Justin Credible will take on Steve Corino!
Monsoon: Personally, the match I want to see is Giant Baba get some more revenge on King Kong Bundy!
Blassie: That won't happen Monsoon, the Brain is too smart for that to happen. Lets take it to the ring for our opening contest.
Cousin Luke defeats "Iron" Mike Sharpe by DQ when Sharpe shoves the referee. A long match that ended with no clear winner. **
Round 2 Hardcore Tournament:
Timber defeats Konnan with the LOG SPLITTER. A match that Timber surprisingly dominated for the majority of the action. **
Monsoon: Wow, I cant believe that Konnan lost that match.
Blassie: Timber came to fight, and I think Konnan took the big lumberjack a little too lightly.
Blond Bombers beat Bobo Brazil and Jimmy Snuka by DQ when Snuka smashes Buddy Rose into the steel post and the referee calls fo the bell. This was a pretty good match that ended poorly. **
Monsoon: Wow, the Bombers with yet another upset of the Brazil/Snuka duo.
Blassie: Snuka and Brazil better get it going, or the Road Warriors will rip them in half at INVASION.
Harley Race defeats Brutus Beefcake with the PILEDRIVER. Pretty good match, but once Race got control, it was all over. ***
Monsoon: Another win for Race vs the Valentine Family. He fought aggressively and it paid off.
Blassie: I think Johnny Valentine is going to have his hands full at INVASION in their last man standing match.
Giant Baba defeats King Kong Bundy by countout when Baba powerbombs Bundy on the ring floor, and Bundy cant answer the count. Another match where Bundy controlled early, hit the AVALANCHE, and got greedy going for 5. Baba kicked out in 4, then took over. He hit his NECKBREAKER DROP, but Heenan interfered in the match. Baba grabbed him and clotheslined him over the top rope. Then he grabbed Bundy and threw him out of the ring. And that is where he delivered the lethal blow to end the match. ***
Giant Baba: I am getting so sick of Heenan interfering in our matches Bundy. You know you cannot beat me one on one. I challenge you to a match at INVASION! And I will bet my career on it!
Bundy: I have nothing to prove to you. You may have gotten lucky tonight, but you can find your.........
Jesse Ventura walks to the ring with Adrian Adonis.
Ventura: Bundy, you are going to wrestle Giant Baba at INVASION. Bobby Heenan will be barred from ringside. If Giant Baba loses, he will be forced to leave the BCW. If he wins, he gets a match with Bobby Heenan on NITRO the night after INVASION! And if that match happens, and anyone interferes, those parties will be fired on the spot!
Heenan: You cant do this to me, dont you know who I am!
Jesse Ventura and Adrian Adonis leave the ring, ignoring Heenan's begging.
Monsoon: Can you believe this? Wow what a match for INVASION!
Blassie: It will be one hell of a match, but I dont think that this is all that fair to the Heenan family.
Sabu defeats Hacksaw Jim Duggan by submission with the CAMEL CLUTCH. A pretty good match that Duggan almost won a couple of times. After the match, The Sandman came into the ring and nailed Sabu with the SINGAPORE CANE. Sabu had to be carried out of the ring on a stretcher. ****
Monsoon: Wow, what a match! These guys dont really like each other. This feud isn't going to end well.
Blassie: Sabu wins most of the battles, but seems to be losing the war. I think he should maybe try and find a friend to help fend these 2 guys off.
Justin Credible defeats Steve Corino with the THAT'S INCREDIBLE. Corino put up one hell of a fight. He took 3 SINGAPORE CANE shots, but when Credible locked on the THAT'S INCREDIBLE, it was all over with. Credible and a bloody Corino shook hands after the match. ****
Monsoon: Now that match was seriously hardcore! What a battle! And its nice to see the competitors shake hands afterwards.
Blassie: Those two should get a room. This is hardcore wrestling, not a friend making convention.
Ox Baker defeats Virgil by pinfall with the HEART PUNCH. Baker finally gets his first win in BCW with a nice win over Virgil. The HEART PUNCH really connected, and Virgil had to be carried from the ring. He looked hurt pretty bad. ***
Monsoon: Baker finally won a match in BCW. Maybe your criticism of Baker recently finally hit home.
Blassie: Yeah, that is the Ox Baker that I remember. It's always nice to see a guy get carried out on a stretcher after a pep talk.
Monsoon: Pep talk huh.......
Frank Gotch (w/ Jim Cornette) defeats The Destroyer by submission with the GOTCH TOEHOLD. A pretty good match, a lot of action. Virgil was to be at ringside, but due to Ox Baker he was not able to help out. The Destroyer managed to get the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK on, but Cornette distracted him. Then Gotch got control back and finished him off. ***
Monsoon: Gotch has really been rolling since he signed with Jim Cornette.
Blassie: Sometimes you need a manager to keep you focused. Gotch had the talent, and Cornette is bringing it out of him.
Monsoon: Here is the current list of matches for INVASION:
BCW World Title Match:
"Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers (c) vs Nick Bockwinkel
BCW World Tag Team Title Match:
The Road Warriors vs Jimmy Snuka and Bobo Brazil
BCW U.S.S.R. Title Match: Nikolai Volkoff (c) (w/ Nikita Breznikov vs Diamond Dallas Page
