A top defense for the Portal, but too bad Lee & Tursas could not win the gold and a great win for Johnny Gargano. The IWA has a fresh vibe my friend and it'll be fun to see where this territory will be in the months to come...

Thanks for the comments on the IWA, Pariah and Crimson. I am having a blast with this territory in my fed and it is cool to see others enjoying it as well. I was surprised when the Portal retained only because Tursas & Lee have been so dominant in their matches.
The J-Crown elimination matches have been fun to plan out and I liked that both Gargano and Scorpio Sky advanced as the tournament is open to both IWA and free agent stars. I am basically going to have the J-Crown be an open ended title so non-IWA stars will also be considered for title opportunities.
The Castle Experience has been fun to do as well since he is also a free agent but getting bookings in the IWA. I loved running both CHIKARA and ROH in my fed but I have to say that the merging of those two into the IWA has been even more fun than I imagined. Next up will be an NWC card headlined by Randy Savage vs. Bruiser Brody which I hope to have posted soon.

LOW Northern Wrestling Corporation - Brendan Byrne Arena - East Rutherford, NJ (Card #923)
1) Sabu defeated Johnny Rodz: The “Homicidal, Genocidal, and Suicidal” Sabu, accompanied by his manager Bill Alfonso, took on the “Unpredictable” Johnny Rodz of ASW in the opening match. It was almost a shocking upset in this match as Rodz pushed Sabu to his limits. Alfonso was even ejected from ringside after he interfered to prevent Rodz from scoring a pin after roundhouse right hands. Rodz also hit the rope choke and neck snap and Unpredictable Slam during the course of the match. Sabu took the match outside and roughed up Rodz including hitting a running dropkick to knock him into the ring barrier. Back inside Sabu used the Camel Clutch for a submission chance and then hit the controversial Arabian Facebuster. That set up Sabu hitting a slingshot legdrop to score the pin and earn a hard fought victory over Rodz.
2) Mildred Burke, Sumie Sakai, & Rockin Robin defeated Jazz, April Hunter, & Joyce Grable: The debut of the stars of Ring Angels saw Mildred Burke, Sumie Sakai, & Rockin Robin take on Jazz, April Hunter, & Joyce Grable in six-woman tag team action. The Ring Angels troupe was co-founded by Sakai and Kings Road United founder Rikidozan in order to give women stars more opportunities in LOW especially due to the SHIMMER promotion having undergone a roster size increase recently forcing several cuts to be made. Sakai was interviewed PWI Editor Bill Apter prior to the match and said that several more women stars will be joining the Ring Angels soon. As for the match, all six women had a chance to shine and the crowd was treated to some great back and forth action. Burke and Jazz had some great exchanges and the tension between the two was pretty thick. Sakai used her aerial skills to dazzle Hunter and scored a near fall on “Big Red” with a diving seated senton. The finishing sequence saw Grable roughing up Sakai until she made a blind tag and that led to Robin getting the pin on the Columbus, GA, native with a High Cross Bodypress.
3) Justin Credible defeated Jerry Lynn by DQ: The intense rivalry between Jerry Lynn & Sabu and Drake Younger & Justin Credible split off into a singles bout here as Lynn took on Credible. Younger accompanied Credible to ringside but was ordered to the back by the referee after the introductions. Lynn was like a house of fire throughout this one as he dominated Credible at every turn. He scored a two count with a top rope huracanrana and also battered Credible with loves like the bulldog and twisting legdrop from the ring apron. It wound up on the outside where a desperate Credible went to use the Singapore Cane but Lynn got it away from him. Lynn then ignored the directions of the referee and used the weapon on Credible delivering repeated shots with it. As a result it was Credible scoring a disqualification win over Lynn in this grudge match.
4) Blue World Order defeated Naptown Dragons: The popular Blue World Order (Stevie Richards & Blue Meanie) hoped to come away with a win as they took on the Naptown Dragons (“Die Hard” Dustin Lee & Scotty Vortekz) of ASW. The bWo suffered an upset loss to the makeshift ASW team of Dupae Rupa & Matt Striker on the recent card at MSG so coming in they knew that they would have to take the Naptown Dragons, a more experienced team than Rupa and Striker, very seriously. This match had a little of everything as both teams came very close to victory. Richards was in a bad way in the latter stages of the match when the Dragons hit Double Dragon, a double vertical suplex dropped into a power bomb. Vortekz went for the pin but the Meanie broke it up just before the three count. Richards recovered and hit the Stevie Kick on Vortekz for a near fall. The finishing sequence of a hard fought battle saw the Meanie survive a shoulder tackle by Vortekz before planting him with a bodyslam and hitting the Meaniesault to score the pin. The crowd cheered the big win by the bWo and the Meanie entertained them with a victory Meanie dance.
5) George Steele defeated The Patriot: The Patriot, one-half of the popular Stars & Stripes tag team along with Marcus Alexander Bagwell, signed for singles action taking on the one of a kind George “The Animal” Steele. Manager Fred Blassie, a former two-time LOW World Heavyweight champion, was at ringside for “The Animal” for this match. The Patriot started off by blitzing Steele with a boot to the face, a forearm smash and the Patriot Missile scoring a two count. Steele struck back using a foreign object jabbing it into the throat of The Patriot several times. He also caught him with a running knee scoring a two count. A great spot saw Steele going for a deathjump but The Patriot countered with a superplex. He then hit Uncle Slam and went for the pin but Blassie distracted the referee. The action went to the outside several times and Steele wound up being busted open. The Patriot looked to have it won when he hit another Patriot Missile but Blassie broke up the pin by jabbing his cane into his head. The refereed missed that and a short time later a bloody Steele nailed The Patriot with a Headbutt and covered him to score the pin.
6) The Sheepherders defeated Bobo Brazil & Tony Atlas: A rematch from the last card at MSG saw Bobo Brazil & “Mr. USA” Tony Atlas take on The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) as they looked to avenge their loss to the madmen from New Zealand. Things were looking great for Brazil and Atlas in the early going as they kept The Sheepherders on the defensive. Brazil caught him with the Coco Butt scoring a two count and Atlas likewise scored a near fall with a vertical suplex. The Sheepherders mounted a strong comeback and they scored a near fall on Atlas with the Running Knee Smash. Atlas was busted open during the course of the match and things were looking bleak for him. Brazil took over and took the battle to both Miller and Williams and that set up a nice offense from Atlas. He caught Williams with the Press Slam and Splash and went for the pin but he kicked out with authority. That shocked the bloody Atlas who later would fall pray to the Double Gutbuster by The Sheepherders with Williams covering him to score the pin. It was a tough loss for the popular Brazil and Atlas and a huge win for The Sheepherders who are in the hunt for a shot at the LOW World tag team titles.
7) Dick Hutton defeated One Man Gang: Coming off of a huge win over Frank Gotch on the last MSG card, Dick Hutton took on the massive 495-pound One Man Gang hoping to continue building momentum. OMG was without the services of his manager Captain Lou Albano who is currently on the road with Greg Valentine, the reigning LOW International Heavyweight champion. OMG jumped Hutton during the ring introductions getting this match off to a wild start. The two men traded blows in the early going before OMG took it to the outside and assaulted Hutton. He tossed him back in and went for the 747 Splash but Hutton rolled out of the way. That seemed to take the breath out of OMG and left him in a vulnerable state. Hutton then staggered him with a forearm uppercut followed by an impressive side salto scoring a two count. Moments later it was Hutton trapping OMG in the Abdominal Stretch and the big man was caught in the middle of the ring. Hutton cinched it on and OMG was unable to escape resulting in him being forced to tap out. It was a huge submission victory for Hutton who has been very impressive in his recent outings in the NWC.
8) Randy Savage defeated Bruiser Brody by DQ: The main event was one that everyone was waiting for as freelance stars “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Bruiser Brody locked horns hoping to settle their rivalry. The crowd was solidly behind the “Macho Man” as he entered the ring to his familiar Pomp and Circumstance looking as intense as ever. When the Led Zeppelin classic Immigrant Song began playing over the public address system the crowd was amped up as Brody stormed down to ringside barking and swinging his chain. The rivalry between these two men has been boiling over for quite some time even when they competed as tag team partners. Photographers, officials and fans at ringside had to brace themselves for the war that was about to take place. Savage made a big mistake going out of the ring after Brody and was quickly run into the ring post. Brody then tossed Savage into the ring and scored consecutive near falls with the Jumping Knee Drop, running leg drop and the piledriver. Things were looking bleak for the “Macho Man” until he fought his way out of an attempted Tombstone Piledriver (ch) and nailed Brody with the running knee to the back. Savage followed with a knee drop and his own piledriver covering Brody for a big near fall. The crowd was at a fever pitch by this point with both men leaving it all out there in the ring. It looked like Savage was going to win it when he hit the Flying Elbow Drop on Brody but before a three count could be made The Sheik hit the ring attacking him. The referee called for the bell giving the victory to Savage via disqualification as the fans jeered the actions of The Sheik.
With his manager Abdullah Farouk on the outside, The Sheik jabbed away at the forehead of Savage with a sharpened piece of steel busting him open. Brody rolled over to the corner and grabbed his chain as the crowd urged him to make a save for Savage. He wrapped the chain around his fist but instead of hitting The Sheik with it he blasted the “Macho Man” knocking him out cold. Brody then joined The Sheik in stomping away on the fallen and bloody Savage until LOW officials and a host of wrestlers, including Bobo Brazil, Tony Atlas and The Patriot, stormed the ring to break it up. Brody and The Sheik didn’t go quietly as they traded some blows with Brazil and Atlas before finally bailing out at the insistence of Farouk. PWI Editor Bill Apter caught up with Brody and his cohorts backstage and got a few words with them. As The Sheik chewed on the tie of a nervous Apter, Farouk produced a wad of cash and said that they go where the money goes. Brody revealed that he is not one to spend money recklessly but he used some of the cash he acquired from Bobby Heenan through the “Million $ Man” Ted Dibiase to purchase some insurance in the form of The Sheik. He said that while he and The Sheik don’t see eye to eye he has admiration for both him and Farouk and said they could do business anytime. Farouk laughed and said that it was “money well spent” by Brody and that Savage learned a painful and bloody lesson. Brody finished by grabbing Apter by the throat and telling him to deliver a message to Savage and that was that the war is far from over and that only one of them will survive it.

Loads of great action that started off on the right foot with Sabu winning a superb encounter... Was hoping for Jerry Lynn to win his match as well, but ensuring that Credible tasted his own Singapore cane was pretty cool...
The main event was everything expected and more! Never saw the temporary alliance between Brody and The Sheik coming... But, money can make strange things happen... I'm sure that Macho Man is going to be on the hunt... More ferocious than ever... This brutal rivalry looks far from over...
Awesome stuff!

Some fun and surprising outcomes there Crue with George Steele over The Patriot and the bWo over the Naptown Dragons. I'm glad to see Dick Hutton win and what a battle between Savage & Brody, plus add that Sheik into the mix...

More crazy action from the East Coast. Really solid action. Highlights for me were BWO upending the Dragons and Sheepherders stunning Atlas & Brazil. Hutton is always hit and miss for me but having he go over clean against OMG is great stuff. Main event was awesome and enjoyed the angle with the Sheik and Brody.

Thanks for the comments Pariah, Crimson, Bookerbill and Markyhitch. Thanks for the nice words Markyhitch and good luck with the results/writeups for your fed. I really like writing detailed results and even though sometimes I feel like I write too much it seems others enjoy it so I will continue with this format. Basically what I do is roll out a match and then go right to Microsoft word and write a description of it and continue until I finish a card. Sometimes due to time it could take a few days to finish but it is something that works for me. Anyway, thanks everyone for the comments on the card especially Savage vs. Brody as the addition of The Sheik really shakes things up in a good way I feel. It looks like Savage may have to recruit some help in the future. Next up is action from the SWA which features a huge upset in the tag team division...
LOW Southern Wrestling Alliance - Eddie Graham Sports Complex - Orlando, FL (Card #924)
1) Hillbilly Jim defeated The Executioner: A big night of action opened up with the popular Hillbilly Jim taking on The Executioner appearing courtesy of ASW. This was an even match in terms of size but Jim had the clear advantage in crowd support. The Executioner scored a two count early when he executed a roll-up after a missed corner charge. A battle on the outside led to Jim gaining control and after a big splash he nailed the masked man with a Big Boot to the Face to score the pin.
2) Kenny King defeated Val Venis: The second bout saw Kenny King in singles action taking on the “Big Valbowski” Val Venis in a battle of Las Vegas where both men hail from. King, who normally teams with D-Lo Brown, looked great early including hitting a spinning leg lariat for a near fall. Venis battled back hitting key moves like the Russian legsweep and the spinebuster to punish King. He was in complete control until King countered a backdrop off of the ropes and then hit the Coronation to score the pin.
3) Eddie Gilbert defeated Brian Blair: Florida native Brian Blair received a nice ovation from the crowd as he took on House of Humperdink member “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert who was accompanied by his manager Sir Oliver Humperdink. Blair did a nice job of controlling the pace early and a frustrated Gilbert bailed out of the ring to talk with Humperdink. The turning point came when both men went down from a double clothesline off of the ropes. Gilbert recovered first and alertly nailed Blair with a DDT. That shook up Blair and moments later Gilbert dropped him throat first across the top rope with the Hot Shot to score the pin.
4) Heartbreak Express defeated Midnight Express: The cult favorite Heartbreak Express (Fabulous Phil Davis & Superstar Sean Davis) of ASW took on the Midnight Express (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton), the four-time LOW World tag team champions managed by Jim Cornette. The always vocal manager grabbed the mic before the match and said that the Road Warriors were “ducking the Midnight Express” in order to protect the LOW World tag team titles and that it was “insulting” to his men to have to compete against an imposter Express tag team. He also poked fun at the physique of Sean Davis but paid for it as the “Superstar” gave him a belly bump knocking him out of the ring! Cornette was furious and ordered Condrey and Eaton to get the job done. The Midnight Express looked great in the early going and nearly had Phil pinned after hitting the Double Goozle. Condrey then tossed him out of the ring and followed but Phil gained control and that seemed to turn the tide of the match. Back inside it was the Heartbreak Express connecting with The Heartbreaker, a double back slingshot suplex, on Condrey. Phil then decked Eaton knocking him off of the ring apron while Cornette failed to distract the referee. Seconds later it was Sean diving on top of Condrey to score the pin resulting in an explosive pop from the crowd. Cornette was beside himself in anger running around ringside and yelling at anyone who would listen as the Heartbreak Express celebrated their huge upset win. Eaton and Condrey had to drag a red faced Cornette to the back as Sean did his sexy gyration taunting the manager.
5) Tracy Smothers defeated Don Muraco by DQ: The popular “Wild Eyed Southern Boy” Tracy Smothers had his work cut out for him going against “The Magnificent” Don Muraco in this match. Muraco dominated much of the match showing off the skills that have made him one of the most feared competitors in LOW. He had Smothers down and was going for a deathjump when Smothers sprung up and attempted a counter. Muraco instead knocked him down and out of the ring where the battle continued. Smothers got in a few blows before he was again taken down by Muraco who speared him head first into the ring post. Muraco continued his attack as the referee called for the bell awarding Smothers the victory via disqualification. Muraco may have lost the match on a technicality but he showed the fury and aggression that makes him such a dangerous opponent.
6) Magnum T.A. & Tommy Rich defeated Blonde Bombers by DQ: Magnum T.A. & “Wildfire” Tommy Rich joined forces to take on the Blonde Bombers (Chris Candido & Bobby Shane) with manager J.J. Dillon. It was Dillon that set up the match hoping that the Bombers could avenge the concussion injury suffered by “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers in a recent tag battle with Rich and Magnum. The Bombers did a fine job of controlling the action in particular by isolating Magnum preventing Rich from tagging in. Magnum had some offense but kept getting cut off by the Bombers. Late in the match it was Magnum turning things around when suddenly Don Muraco appeared at ringside. The sight of his rival caught him off guard and allowed Shane to regain control and lock on the Japanese Sleeper. Rich attempted to make the save but was tackled out of the ring by Candido. Magnum then went under and the Bombers were declared the winners of the match via submission. As Muraco and Candido roughed up Rich on the outside, the referee ordered Shane to wake up Magnum but he refused and that led to the official reversing the decision giving Magnum and Rich the win via disqualification. Shane and Dillon argued with the referee as Muraco slid into the ring and began attacking the unconscious Magnum. Rich finally retaliated against Candido and grabbed a chair to make the save sending Muraco, Shane and Dillon out of the ring. An angry Magnum grabbed the mic when he recovered and challenged Muraco to meet him on the next SWA card at the Omni in Atlanta, GA (Card #936).
7) LOW Junior Heavyweight title: Johnny Saint© defeated Mike Graham to retain the title: There was a lot of emotion behind this one as Tampa, FL, native Mike Graham challenged Johnny Saint for the LOW Junior Heavyweight title in the same arena named after his father, the legendary Eddie Graham. The crowd cheered wildly for Graham as he made his way to the ring looking to win his first championship in LOW. This was one for the ages as both men displayed the technical skills that they are known for and had some amazing exchanges. One saw Graham with a fireman’s carry followed by a cross body block but then Saint turtled up and executed the Johnny Saint Special scoring a two count. A similar situation saw Graham up top going for a deathjump but Saint picked him off with a bodyslam and executed The Russ Abbot, a variation of the rolling reverse cradle, scoring a big near fall. Tempers flared late into the bout as the two men traded blows on the outside of the ring showing the importance of this championship match as they strayed from their usual scientific style. The finish of a great bout saw Saint cut off an offensive by Graham and trap him in the Three In One, his painful version of the Octopus Hold. Graham desperately tried to fight out of it but there was no escape and he tapped out giving Saint the victory via submission. It was a tough defeat for Graham and Saint was fortunate to survive his version seven defense of the championship. Graham stared intently at the title belt as the referee presented it to Saint but then reached out and shook hands with the champion drawing cheers from the crowd. Saint likewise showed respect by raising the arm of Graham in celebration of the hard fought bout for the championship.
8) Blackjack Mulligan, Bob Armstrong, & Angelo Mosca defeated Johnny Valentine, Kevin Sullivan, & Ox Baker: The main event saw the return of Blackjack Mulligan as he joined forces with “Bullet” Bob Armstrong and Angelo “King Kong” Mosca to do battle with the dangerous House of Humperdink trio of Johnny Valentine, Kevin Sullivan and Ox Baker. Mulligan had been out of action due to an injury to his claw hand suffered in a vicious attack led by Sullivan using his infamous Railroad Spike. Armstrong and Mosca, meanwhile, backed their friend Mulligan and battled the HOH in his absence. This one got off to a wild start as Mulligan nailed Valentine with a series of right hands followed by a back elbow ram. The crowd was going wild as Mulligan showed that his hand was healed and that he was going to extract some revenge on Humperdink and his men. Humperdink looked on concerned from ringside as the battle raged on as his men were on the defensive most of the way. Valentine, who most observers consider to be the cornerstone of the House of Humperdink, was very impressive during his time in but he was the one who fell in the end. Valentine was dominating the action against Armstrong when he sent him into the turnbuckle. Armstrong, however, bounced out and nailed Valentine with a Counter Running Lariat before cradling his legs to score the pin. It was a shocking finish to the match as Armstrong stunned Valentine and scored the pin much to the dismay of Sullivan, Baker and Humperdink. Mulligan, Armstrong and Mosca picked up a huge win over their rivals but the war is clearly far from over between these two sides.

What a nice victory for Kenny King over Val Venis, plus the win by Eddie Gilbert was a highlight. I must say the real highlight is the Heartbreak Express vs. Midnight Express and seeing Sean getting the win over Condrey and it's funny to read a red faced Cornette being dragged to the back, excellent stuff Crue...

Magnum & Rich vs the Bombers was very exciting... Especially with the Magnificent One making an appearance... Until that point, it seemed like JJ Dillon's boys were in a little trouble...
Congrats to Johnny Saint on yet another successful title defense... He's certainly gavelling an impressive run with the gold... And the main event took the show out on a very high note... Cool to see the House of Humperdink being shut down...
Personally, I also thought Kenny King vs Val Venis was an interesting matchup, based on their personalities... Nice effort by the Big Valbowski, but he just couldn't hold it together...
Entertaining stuff from LOW:SWA... Thank you for sharing!
