Card 215: NWA International from Manchester, England (April 17)
Non-Televised Matches
Red Bastien vs. One Man Gang: A long back and forth match. Finally Bastien used two straight ATOMIC DROPS for the win.
Bruiser Brody vs. Dennis Condrey: Condrey surprised Brody with two straight FACE FIRST LEG SWEEPS and got an upset win!
Tag Team Match
The Mongols vs. The Valiant Brothers with Lou Albano: The Valiant’s savvy dominated the Mongol’s savagery. Bepo never made it into the ring and Geeto was hit with repeated SPINNING NECKBREAKERS, TOP ROPE ELBOWS and SUPER ELBOWS and finally stayed down for 3!
Televised Matches
Hello from Manchester, folks. We have big news tonight. Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and Rick Rude have flown in for Rude’s opportunity at the World Heavyweight Championship, and it will be tonight! Plus International Champion Rikidozan will take on Killer Kowalski in a non-title match!
Al Snow vs. Bob Orton, Jr.: Snow was almost immediately disqualified for striking Orton with Head!
Giant Baba vs. Larry Zbyszko: Zbyszko’s tricks just weren’t enough to overcome Baba’s power. He went down to the NECKBREAKER DROP!
Antonio Inoki vs. The Mountie: The Mountie put on an incredible display of resiliency but finally was pinned with a belly to back suplex!
Tag Team Match
The Vachon Brothers vs. The Fabulous Kangaroos with Red Berry: Both teams were disqualified when a wild brawl erupted involving all 4 men and Red Berry!
Ilio Dipaolo vs. The French Angel: The Angel destroyed DiPaolo and got an easy win with a BEAR HUG!
Non-Title Match
Killer Kowalski vs. Rikidozan [C]: Kowalski came out swinging. Although the Champion managed to trade even with him for most of the match, he defiantly knew he was in a fight. After bloodying the Champion Kowalski used a bobs away knee drop to pin Rikidozan in a stunning upset!
Main Event: World Heavyweight Championship Match
Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan vs. Mil Mascaras [C]: As per standard NWA Rules this is a 2 out of 3 falls match. Rude wrestled earlier this week in a tag match, and then flew here. One would wonder how that will affect his performance.
First Fall
A long, brutal first fall. Rude traded evenly with the Champion throughout the fall and managed a few covers. Mascaras finally hit two straight CROSSBODY ATTACKS to take the first fall!
Second Fall
Bobby Heenan’s distractions and interference stopped the second fall from being a blow out. But Mascaras soon recovered and won with a slingshot plancha!
