Heartland Havoc CXVI: Satisfaction! It is an honor to be here in the magnificent city of St. Louis for tonight's pay-per-view broadcast.
Solie: Indeed, there is no finer monument to the history of the sport of professional wrestling than the renowned Kiel Auditorium.
Russell: And tonight's wrestling action will be something special. Our
NWA World Heavyweight Champion, the one and only
'NATURE BOY' RIC FLAIR, is here tonight to defend his title in the Main Event against the stern challenge of
TERRY FUNK.Solie: That will be a tremendous match-up, no question. As will the
NWA World Tag Team Championship confrontation as
JACK & JERRY BRISCO again square off against the diabolical
KEVIN SULLIVAN & CACTUS JACK.EpicDave: Both of tonight's World Title matches will be tremendous! And that's not all, fans- in total, there will be SIX championship matches here tonight, and there are a lot of scores to be settled. We're going to kick things off tonight with an old-fashioned grudge match!
Grudge Match: No DisqualificationMR. SAITO vs. THE IRON SHEIKThe Iron Sheik was taking no prisoners tonight! The match barely got underway when Sheik laid into Mr. Saito with his loaded boot, busting him open. Saito tried to escape the ring, but Sheik caught Saito and backdropped him through the timekeeper's table! Saito barely made it back to the ring, and Sheik blasted Saito with the loaded boot again and covered Saito for a clean win.
WINNER: THE IRON SHEIK
Solie: We weren't anticipating a scientific showdown in that match, and indeed, the Iron Sheik proved his mettle in the opening contest.
EpicDave: And the Heartland Trainers will be busy right off the bat- not to mention the destruction of the first table of the evening. Now- we take you to our first championship match!
Atlantic Heavyweight ChampionshipKEVIN VON ERICH (c) vs. NICK ALDISIt was a terrific battle between the speed of Kevin and the tenacity of the challenger. Kevin scored with a standing dropkick to stun Aldis and set up the Iron Claw. Aldis was weakened by the claw, but was able to make it to the ropes and escape from the ring. Aldis punished Kevin on the arena floor, then dropped Kevin throat-first onto the steel security railing! Kevin was stunned, and barely made it back to the ring ahead of the ten-count. Aldis was waiting, and wrapped Kevin into the King's Lynn Cloverleaf to force the submission!
WINNER: NICK ALDIS
NICK ALDIS CAPTURES THE ATLANTIC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Solie: Well! We have a new
Atlantic Heavyweight Champion! I must say, Aldis played to his strength tonight. No question, Aldis is a grandmaster at the game of human chess, and tonight, he is your new AWF Champion.
EpicDave: Without a doubt, Nick Aldis is having a sensational run down south. And now- another grudge match as the newest "Prospect" from
WHATEVER WE WANT, SHANE DOUGLAS, takes on 3W's previous prospect,
KEVIN STEEN.Grudge Match: No DisqualificationKEVIN STEEN vs. SHANE DOUGLASThere was no love lost from the beginning as Douglas and Steen squared off. The two men traded stiff shots in the ring for several minutes, with neither gaining advantage. After a vicious exchange on the arena floor, Steen powerbombed Douglas onto the ring apron, stunning him. Douglas was weakened, but
STAN HANSEN came to ringside to intervene. Steen caught Hansen with a superkick, knocking the big man down. Douglas got to his feet and shoved Steen into the ringpost. Steen hit hard, and dropped to the floor favoring his left shoulder. Hansen pitched Steen back into the ring, where Douglas executed the Belly-to-Belly Suplex to score the pin.
WINNER: SHANE DOUGLAS
Russell: Those guys from this gang they call Whatever We Want are always looking for the advantage. Once again, it was the numbers game that paid off for Douglas, and once again, an opponent is being helped away from the ring with a potential injury.
EpicDave: Those guys are definitely dangerous. All right, fans- it's time for another championship match! The vacant Pro Wrestling Mid-America titles are on the line in our next contest.
Pro Wrestling Mid-America Tag Team ChampionshipTHE STEINER BROTHERS (c) vs. THE LOVE BROTHERSLooking to get back into the spotlight, the Steiners came out aggressively in the title match. Hartford and Reginald tagged frequently, but the Steiners overpowered Hartford and Scotty took him down with a Frankensteiner. Rick followed with a massive Steinerline on Hartford! Hartford was nearly out on his feet when Scotty took him down with a second Frankensteiner and covered him for the three count.
WINNERS: THE STEINER BROTHERS
THE STEINER BROTHERS CAPTURE THE PRO WRESTLING MID-AMERICA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Russell: Congratulations to
RICK & SCOTTY STEINER! They have won the
PWMA Tag Titles and they are proud champions once again.
EpicDave: These guys have held the world championship three times already- and now they are back in the hunt for another run at glory. Ladies and gentlemen- business is picking up here in St. Louis- and the rest of tonight's matches will be shown on the

Heartland Havoc CXVI: Satisfaction! We have four more matches teed up for tonight- and next up, it's the
Pro Wrestling Mid-America Heavyweight Championship. Russell:
ANTONINO ROCCA is the challenger tonight. Rocca earned this match after defeating
NICK BOCKWINKEL in the
Legends of Wrestling tournament at
Galacticon 2023. Bockwinkel is looking to reclaim that victory here tonight and maintain his hold on the title.
Pro Wrestling Mid-America Heavyweight ChampionshipNICK BOCKWINKEL (c) vs. ANTONINO ROCCAIt didn't take long for the braggadocio of Bockwinkel to get under the skin of the challenger. Rocca hit some athletic moves, but Bockwinkel frequently left the ring and Rocca became frustrated. Rocca wound up pulling the boot of Bockwinkel and beating him with it, earning the disqualification.
WINNER: (via disqualification): NICK BOCKWINKEL
NICK BOCKWINKEL RETAINS THE PRO WRESTLING MID-AMERICA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Russell:
NICK BOCKWINKEL is the master of psychology in that ring- and tonight he completely broke down the mindset of his challenger and stole the victory.
EpicDave: That is correct- Rocca is a hothead and Bockwinkel was able to exploit that. Next up, fans- we'll see
DAVID & KERRY VON ERICH challenge for the
Atlantic Tag Team Championship against one of the great tag teams in wrestling history-
THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS. Atlantic Tag Team ChampionshipTHE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (c) vs. KERRY & DAVID VON ERICHThe Von Erichs came to the ring pumped up by the cheers of the crowd, but the Midnights quickly took control of the bout with their tag team expertise. Eaton took down Kerry twice with the Divorce Court, leaving Kerry favoring his right shoulder throughout the match. Kerry survived the Rocket Launcher, but when David hit the ring, the Midnights took over. After isolating David for several minutes, the Midnights doubled up on David and Eaton scored the pin after a Veg-O-Matic.

THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS RETAIN THE ATLANTIC TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
Solie: No question, the chemistry between
STAN LANE & BOBBY EATON, under the leadership of
JAMES E. CORNETTE, is second to none. Kerry and David are both outstanding single wrestlers, but it takes more than that to rise to the level of championship greatness in the tag team environment.
EpicDave: Without a doubt- Eaton and Lane are on a roll. They have established themselves as
AWF Tag Champions- and if they keep up the momentum, they may soon be in line for a shot at the World titles. But right now- the
NWA World Tag Team Championship is firmly in the grasp of
JACK & JERRY BRISCO- and the Briscos are in for a rugged title defense in our next contest.
NWA World Tag Team ChampionshipJACK & JERRY BRISCO (c) vs. KEVIN SULLIVAN & CACTUS JACKMuch like the previous bout, tag team coordination was the deciding factor in the World Title match. Jack and Jerry were in control from the outset, and Sullivan was their primary target. As the Briscos wore Sullivan down, he grew desperate and launched himself after Jack with a foreign object. Sullivan got away with it once, but on the second occasion, the referee spotted the infraction and called for the bell.
WINNERS (via Disqualification): JACK & JERRY BRISCO
THE BRISCO BROTHERS RETAIN THE NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Solie: An outstanding performance indeed by the World Champions. Jack and Jerry are among the greatest teams in NWA history, and Jack himself a former world champion.
EpicDave: And now, fans- it's time for your Main Event of the Evening!
Main Event: NWA World Heavyweight ChampionshipRIC FLAIR (c) (w/BOBBY 'THE BRAIN' HEENAN) vs. TERRY FUNK (w/JIMMY HART) It was the finest match ever in the Heartland career of Terry Funk. Funk went toe-to-toe with Flair in the center of the ring, until Funk took control with a Piledriver that left Flair stunned on the mat. Funk went to work with the Spinning Toehold, prompting Heenan to call on
CURT HENNIG & BIG JOHN STUDD for reinforcements. But Hart was ready, calling out
STAN HANSEN & SHANE DOUGLAS to fend off the attack of the Heenan Family. Funk reapplied the Spinning Toehold, and Flair was left without backup and forced to tap out!
WINNER: TERRY FUNK
TERRY FUNK CAPTURES THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
EpicDave: Oh, my goodness! Ladies, and gentlemen, history has been made here in St. Louis!
TERRY FUNK has captured the
NWA World Heavyweight Championship with an amazing victory over
RIC FLAIR! It was a full-on-brawl with members of both factions getting involved, and in the end, Funk did what he had to do to win the match and capture the World Championship! The ramifications of this one will reverberate far and wide as Jimmy Hart has outfoxed Bobby Heenan for the most prized possession in the wrestling world. Wow! All right, fans- we're done here.
