TWF Champion Wrestler TV at Quebec City Shann-Ra d. Mother Superior after a missed turnbuckle charge into the MACHETE
Non-Title: Stars & Stripes time-limit draw with TWF Tag-Team Champions Samoan Swat Team, rematch signed for King of the Mountain
Bill Apter's Ringside featured new TWF Champion Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan. Mil Mascaras challenged Nick Bockwinkel to a best-of-three falls match at King of Mountain for the title. Both men got into a heated discussion before cooler heads prevailed.
Marty Jannetty d. Buddy Rose (with Sherri Martel) after a surprise SUPERKICK Randy Savage d. Harley Race in a tournament of champions rematch. Randy dodged a turnbuckle charge and landed a spectacular running knee for the pin.Harley Race and assaulted Savage (with help from Bobby Heenan) after the bell resulting in a knee injury. TWF officials announced that Savage will miss the King of The Mountain event, but officials suspended Harley Race for 2 cards for his role in the incident.
Mil Mascaras d. Lanny Poffo with a FLYING BODY PRESS. Mascaras looks primed and ready for his upcoming TWF Title Shot.
Non-TV Tommy Rich d. Larry Zbyszko. A wild brawl ended back in the ring where Rich landed two THESZ PRESS and a SLEEPER to take out Larry Legend.
Blackjack Mulligan d. Bruiser Brody after a ringside brawl followed by a bloody CLAW
8-man Bunkhouse Brawl: Ted Dibiase, Steve Williams, Jim Duggan and Dan Spivey d. The Gilberts and the Grappler (with Jimmy Hart). Total domination from Dibiase's team as the Hart First Family seemed overmatched with the Bunkhouse rules.

King of the Mountain at Montreal TWF Ladies Match: Mother Superior d. Sensational Sherri to win the title after a MOTHER OF DESTRUCTION
TWF Tag-Team Championship, Best-of-3 Falls: Stars and Stripes captured the titles 2-1 over the Samoan Swat Team Fall 1. Bagwell used a crossbody to pin Samu Fall 2. Samu hit a diving headbutt to pin Patriot Fall 3. Patriot rallied with a Neckbreaker Drop on Alofa to win the titles, much to the crowd's delight
Grudge Match: Dutch Savage, DQ over Superfly Snuka. These two carried their rivalry from across the continent leading to a wild brawl. Snuka used a television cable to choke Savage, earning a stoppage in the process
TWF Tag-Championship, Best-of-3 Falls: Nick Bockwinkel (with Bobby Heenan) d. Mil Mascaras 2-1 Fall 1. Mascaras DQ due to Heenan's interference which threw Mil's focus for the remaining falls as Bockwinkel introduced the tag rope into play, which he used to choke Mascaras. Fall 2. Bockwinkel used a SLEEPER on Mil Mascaras to put the masked man out cold Fall 3. Bockwinkel repeated the SLEEPER for the win over an injured Mascaras in the final fall
Blackjack Mulligan dominated the King of the Mountain match to win the prize money and TWF Title Shot!
Highlights included....The First Family dominated for awhile during the match as Eddie and Tommy were taking on all comers before both were eliminated by the eventual winner Blackjack Mulligan. Mulligan scored six eliminations while Tommy Gilbert impressed with five.
After Mulligan eliminated his third Gilbert in Doug leaving a final four of Magnum, One Man Gang and Mad Dog Vachon. Magnum TA scored an impressive elimination on One Man Gang as those two continue their rivalry while Mulligan tossed Mad Dog. TA and Jack squared off for the top prize but Jack's size was too much for crowd favorite Magnum. Blackjack's win lines him up for a TWF Title Shot, but how eager is Jack to cash in as he has ties to the Heenan Family?

TWF Action Hour TV at Hartford, CT:
Commissioner Gorilla Monsoon announced that a new televised event will occur regularly during the weekly broadcasts. A wrestler or wrestlers will get chosen to "Run The Gauntlet" of three matches. A title shot is awarded to any successful Gauntlet attempt.
Gauntlet# 1: Ted Dibiase d. Diamond Dallas Page, using a SLEEPER. Dibiase advances to Gauntlet #2.
New TWF Tag-Team champions Stars and Stripes were the guests of Bill Apter's Ringside. The champions proudly displayed their newly won belts and spoke about their title victory along with a brief rundown of upcoming challengers such as the First Family and the Black Guardians.
George South upset Lanny Poffo as he used two consecutive elbow drops to ground the high flying Poffo
Gauntlet #2: Ted Dibiase d. King Kong Bundy. Konger missed a big charge into the corner causing Dibiase to roll-up the big man. Dibiase has a chance to be the first to run and successfully complete the Gauntlet Challenge
Mr. Saito d. Johnny Rodz, DQ. Saito's MO as Heenan's policeman is to injure and torture. This match was no different except the Unpredictable One retaliated with a chair shot to the back, calling for a DQ. Saito and Heenan have placed the TWF on notice for any challengers who want to reach Bockwinkel.
Gauntlet #3: Ted Dibiase d. Randy Savage to win the Gauntlet!! Dibiase focused his attack on Randy's leg and used the Figure Four multiple times with each attempt lasting longer than before. Savage blacked-out from the intense pain resulting in a pin.
Steve Williams d. Nikita Brezhnikov in a quick bout. Both men collided but Doc easily recovered and used a press slam to pin the Russian
Non-TV: Jim Powers d. Too Cold Scorpio, great match featuring many deathjump attempts but Powers dodged one from Scorpio and used 2 POWER SLAMS to gain the win
Magnum TA d. One Man Gang (with JJ Dillon) as Magnum used two BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEXES after Dillon placed Gang's foot on the bottom rope after the first SUPLEX
Roddy Piper d. Tony Atlas, Piper was too rowdy for Atlas as he bloodied up the strongman early with a hidden object and used 2 Swinging Neckbreakers for the win.
NOTES: Looks like Dibiase has a TWF title challenge lined up which officials confirmed will occur once a time and date is agreed upon. Consecutive finishers were the order of the day as all non-televised matches concluded that way, along with two televised bouts - Dibiase winning the Gauntlet and George South finished his match.

TWF Action Hour at Buffalo, NY Non TV Opener: Tony Atlas upset King Kong Bundy (w/ JJ Dillon). Bundy looked terrible as Atlas was sticking and moving all around him. Series of headbutts and two big dropkicks led to quick KO of Bundy.
Action Hour Bill Apter of the Wrestling News interviewed Gauntlet winner Ted Dibiase and asked him about his upcoming TWF Title Shot against TWF kingpin Nick Bockwinkel. Dibiase said his big victory proves he can beat any man in the TWF . Dibiase stated that while the winner was promised a title match; the champion and the TWF for that matter; have scheduled nothing. Dibiase continued that since the TV show is named the Action Hour he plans to deliver some action and challenges Bockwinkel to a match tonight, if he has the guts to accept. Surprisingly, the champion rushed to the ring and agreed to an impromptu match to lead off the show!
Bockwinkel and Dibiase hardly waited for the ring announcer to enter, nevermind complete the introductions, before Dibiase turned the tables on a charging champion and struck hard with a spinning neckbreaker. This led to a hasty roll-up for a flash 1-2-3! Fans go nuts, but the ring announcer reminded the crowd it was a non-title match. The announcers mentioned before the break that commissioner Sammartino wanted to comment on this surprise start to the show. Meanwhile a brief rundown noted that a special tag-team gauntlet will be featured. A tag-team title shot is on the line if one of the first two teams can Run the Gauntlet.
Blackjack Mulligan def. Mr.Saito (with Bobby Heenan) by DQ. Mulligan held the advantage over Heenan's henchman and continued his assault while the action spilled out the ring. Perhaps it was frustration with Bockwinkel's situation earlier in the show, or frustration from Mulligan as a looming challenger, but Saito dropped the decision as Heenan slammed a chair across the big Texan's back. A stunned Mulligan grabbed the chair and chased off Saito and The Brain.
Bruno Sammartino made a special announcement regarding the TWF Title situation. Bruno stated that while Blackjack Mulligan earned a shot by winning the King of The Hill Rumble, Ted Dibiase will get the next crack in Boston against Bockwinkel. The stipulation is that Mulligan will also be used as special referee to eliminate any hijinx from the Heenan Family. This should provide Blackjack with added incentive to challenge a champion without a meddling Heenan around to interfere. Also Randy Savage will face Bobby Heenan to try and gain a measure of revenge for the heinous attack from Heenan and Harley Race. This attack caused a minor injury to the Macho Man.
Tag Gauntlet match 1, Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (with Eddie Fyne) def. Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake (with Jimmy Hart). These two former tag-team champion teams battled hard, but Valentine tried to use his rep as an iron man to his disadvantage; as Sheik and Nikolai kept him in their half of the ring. The foreign duo used their grinding style to wear down the Hammer. When Greg did make the tag, Brutus was not much of a match for Volkoff's power and was also easy pickings for the Sheik. Brutus fell victim to a series of moves such as Suplexes, Crabs and the dreaded CAMEL CLUTCH to seal the first leg of the gauntlet. Jimmy Hart was visibly disturbed with the decision and rushed away from ringside leaving Valentine and Beefcake to walk back alone.
Bob Orton, Jr pinned Lanny Poffo. Orton dominated the smaller Poffo and finished him off with a vicious kick to head, followed by the SUPERPLEX for the win.
Tag Gauntlet match 2, Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (with Eddie Fyne) versus Dark Guardians (Moxley and Black with Jonny Fairplay). Tightly contested match but while Sheik and Volkoff had much of the edge in this encounter, the TV time limit expired before reaching a decision. This decision prompted Bruno Sammartino to enter the ring and announced that these two teams will join the First Family (Gilberts with Jimmy Hart) in a 3-way elimination tag team match in Boston. This match will determine the number one contenders to the titles, held by Stars and Stripes. That announcement concluded the Action Hour and will provide the Boston lineup on the next Wrestling News special bulletin.
non-TV Featured matches... Magnum TA pinned Diamond Dallas Page. A few minutes of battle led to the action spilling outside the ring. Magnum returned first and when Page returned he used a BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX that knocked DDP out cold. Larry Zbyszko jawed with Magnum after the match, which led to Mike Graham entering the melee. Luckily, TWF officials defused the situation from escalating.
Dutch Savage beat Roddy Piper, DQ. Piper gained the early advantage with his dreaded SLEEPER but Dutch rallied after some rough brawling on the floor. Back and forth as each dished out two tokens of punishment. Dutch had Piper set for the RUNNING PILEDRIVER, but Bob Orton ran into the ring and slammed Dutch with a punch from behind causing the DQ.

================ Wrestling News Special Bulletin
Upcoming lineup for Boston... TWF Champion Nick Bockwinkel (with Bobby Heenan) defends against Ted Dibiase with Blackjack Mulligan as Special Referee!
3-way elimination tag-team match, (winners receive title match): Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff with Eddie Fyne versus Dark Guardians (Moxley and Black with Jonny Fairplay) versus The Gilberts with Jimmy Hart.
TWF Ladies Champion Mother Superior versus Shann-Ra
Four return matches: Roddy Piper versus Dutch Savage...Magnum TA versus Diamond Dallas Page...Tony Atlas versus King Kong Bundy...Lanny Poffo versus Bob Orton, Jr.
Just signed: Randy Savage with the Huntress versus Bobby Heenan in a grudge match and Mr. Saito versus Jim Powers rounds out the lineup.
NOTES: Can Bockwinkel turn back the challenge of Dibiase? Having Heenan in his corner should help, but am sure special referee Mulligan may minimize that impact!... The 3-way elimination should be a good one, especially with a title shot on the line...
All the return matches look excellent, but many questions need answers: Can Piper handle Dutch Savage without Orton's help?... Can Magnum dominate DDP twice in a row? Can we ask the same question of Tony Atlas in his match with Bundy? Is there a way Poffo can use his speed and skills to cross up Ace Orton?
Finally, how will Heenan handle the Macho Man? Obviously, the Brain is not a physical match for Savage, but am sure the clever Heenan will have something in mind to keep the heat off.
See you at the matches!!!

TWF Live in Boston, MA Shann-Ra d. TWF Ladies Champion Mother Superior with the Machete to regain the title! These two ladies went back and forth with several near falls and escapes until Shann-Ra caught Superior coming off the top rope, a MACHETE later we had a new champion! The fans gave a Standing Ovation to a great lead-off match in Beantown!
Mr. Saito with Bobby Heenan d. Jim Powers with SAITO SUPLEX. Saito lived up to his rep as the Heenan Family enforcer as he came out firing and made short work of Powers using a Sleeper and a Thrust Punch to set up his big finisher.
King Kong Bundy with JJ Dillon d. Tony Atlas. Bundy was frustrated from the Buffalo loss to Atlas and chased the ring announcer and pounced on Atlas. Bundy's girth was too much after that outburst and used two Power Drops and the AVALANCHE to gain the FIVE-COUNT.
Triangle Tag-Team Match, elimination rules with a title shot on the line. First Family The Gilberts with Jimmy Hart d. Iron Sheik and Volkoff with Eddie Fyne and The Dark Guardians (Moxley and Black with Fairplay). Volkoff surprised Moxley in the first fall after Moxley was arguing with the Sheik in the corner. Moxley lost track of the action, charged and missed Volkoff. Nikolai moved in with a BACKBREAKER DROP and Russian Bearhug after the distraction to gain the surprise victory...The advantage did not help Eddie Fyne's team as Hart kept the foreign duo off-balance. Volkoff lost Doug Gilbert in one exchange and was nailed in a flash with a TOP ROPE SHOULDER. The win clinched the #1 spot for the Gilberts.
TWF Champion Nick Bockwinkel (with Bobby Heenan) d. Ted Dibiase in a match with Blackjack Mulligan as Special Referee! This best of three falls match lived up to the hype as each man pulled out the stops in every fall. Bockwinkel used his patented SLEEPER to catch the first fall, but that is when things took a turn...
Bockwinkel continued to get into altercations with the referee Mulligan. This turned the tide to Dibiase who used a LOADED GLOVE to even the falls at 1-1.
Mulligan slugged Bockwinkel early in fall three which caused Bobby Heenan to enter the fray and argue with Mulligan. Dibiase was about to lock the FIGURE FOUR on Bockwinkel, but Heenan Family enforcer Mr. Saito hit ringside in a big way and hit the SAITO SUPLEX. Bockwinkel alertly cradled a stunned Dibiase for the pin to retain the TWF Championship! The catcalls in Boston were heard in Rhode Island!
An intermission cooled off the tempers of the fans, but the action stayed hot as...
Lanny Poffo d. Bob Orton, Jr. by DQ. Orton used a chair on Poffo after Ace took a breather at ringside. Poffo launched a baseball slide but Ace retaliated with a chair smash calling for a DQ.
Randy Savage d. Bobby Heenan but used two FLYING ELBOWS to KO the Brain. Please note that Mr. Saito attempted to pull Heenan out of the ring after the first elbow but the agile Savage was quick enough to pull Heenan back into the ring! Ted Dibiase raced out and clubbed Saito with his glove to offset further activity and act as a little payback from his title match.
Diamond Dallas Page with Larry Zbyszko d. Magnum TA as Magnum held the early advantage but DDP hit the Diamond Cutter out of nowhere to get the surprise pin. Page's advisor, Larry Zbyszko possibly held Magnum's foot down but the referee did not see the infraction.
Roddy Piper with Ace Orton d. Dutch Savage in a grudge match. Piper rallied from an early pummeling to use a sunset flip coming off the ropes. The Rowdy One had some assistance from the ropes and Orton to cheat Dutch out of the win.
NOTES: The Gilberts are the number one contender to the Stars and Stripes TWF Championships but one has to wonder if Iron Sheik and Volkoff had the First Family fresh if the finish would differ....Piper and Dutch Savage are escalating their rivalry. Dutch has called in Jimmy Snuka to help combat the Ace to raise the stakes in this feud...Bockwinkel retained but in exctiting yet controversial fashion. Dibiase would love to get his hands on Heenan or Saito for costing him the title.Dibiase may have to wait as Randy Savage also has a beef with the Heenan Family, but could Savage and Dibiase become allies?..Boston fans were treated to a title change in the opener but things did not work out well for the remainder of the evening as some unfavorable outcomes marked the night's action.
Saturday Night Special hails from the Meadowlands next as a nationwide prime-time broadcast is scheduled. The televised portion will feature TWF Champion Nick Bockwinkel versus Blackjack Mulligan in best-of-three falls...TWF Tag-Team Champions Patriot and Marcus Bagwell versus the Gilberts in another best-of-three falls tilt...Magnum TA challenges Larry Zbyszko in a grudge match...Randy Savage meets Mr. Saito in a special Kendo Stick (cane) match. The Grappler with Jimmy Hart meets Koko B. Ware to round out the tv side.
Fans in the Meadowlands will have some bonus matches as Tony Atlas meets Danny Spivey...Danny Hodge faces Mad Dog Vachon...Steve Williams challenges Diamond Dallas Page...A special Meadowlands main event features a No-DQ Match as Dutch Savage and Superfly Snuka go for it against Roddy Piper and Ace Orton.

Saturday Night Special at the New Jersey Meadowlands
OPENING BOUTS: Mad Dog Vachon d. Danny Hodge, these two brought their rivalry to the East Coast but Vachon dodged Hodge from the corner and rolled up Danny with a pin.
Tony Atlas d. Dan Spivey, these two shook hands but Mr. USA took the All-American from Florida with a PRESS SLAM AND SPLASH.
SPECIAL BOUTS: The tv lights flashed, the cameras moved into position and the ring announcer introduced the crowd to the home audience to the Saturday Night Special - tv spectacular. TWF's national televised prime-time event!
The first match was TWF Tag-Team Champions Stars and Stripes (Patriot and Bagwell) versus Jimmy Hart's First Family, The Gilberts with Jimmy Hart and Tommy Gilbert. Doug and Eddie Gilbert dominated Bagwell in the first fall until Marcus recovered to hit a double shoulder tackle with the Patriot. This stunned Doug Gilbert while the Patriot was alert enough to hook a leg to win the first fall out of nowhere.
The network returned from a commercial break with Patriot working over Doug. Gilbert was stunned but nothing looked out of the ordinary as he walked into the Patriot's UNCLE SLAM to drop the second fall. One has to question the strategy of Hart and the Gilberts as they clearly underestimated the champions and did not seemed concerned prior to the end of each fall. Eddie Gilbert left ringside shaking his head.
KENDO STICK MATCH (Singapore Cane Rules) Randy Savage d. Mr. Saito. Savage was wild and crazy enough to agree to a match using Saito's weapon of choice as each man used the Kendo to add bruises and welts to the other. A fantastic finish saw Savage use a vicious axe handle and cane shot on an interfering Heenan. This was enough to focus on Saito and put him away. A fantastic battle with enough to warrant an early match of the year candidate.
GRUDGE MATCH: Magnum TA d. Larry Zbyszko. Larry pushed aside the ring announcer and assaulted Magnum but Magnum kept his cool and used his speed to keep the Legend off-balance. Magnum kept up the advantage and used an abdominal stretch pin combination to gain the win. After the fall Diamond Dallas Page rushed to his advisor's aid and helped Larry rough up Magnum. Page's later opponent Steve Williams rushed to ringside and challenged DDP right there. Referees and officials cleared the ring, but during the commercial the announcement was made to switch Doc's match with DDP to a tag-team affair with Magnum TA and Larry Zbyszko after the broadcast!
TWF Champion Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan vs. Blackjack Mulligan, best-of-three falls. The ring introductions truly drew up the battle lines as the fans were clearly behind the big Texan while the hatred for Bockwinkel and Heenan was off the charts.
FALL 1 - Blackjack caught Bockwinkel off the top rope and landed the CLAW HOLD for the flash pin. Mulligan was officially one step away from the gold while a battered Bockwinkel barely had time to get settled at ringside. Heenan was livid as he claimed Blackjack blindsided the champ!!
FALL 2- Bockwinkel and Heenan were on their toes as the CLAW in fall one seemed to awake them both. Mulligan rallied after taking the match to the floor, but Tricky Nick slammed Blackjack into a ringpost. Bockwinkel continued the pressure inside the ring with a SLEEPER and FIGURE-FOUR to pin the bloodied Texan.
FALL 3 - Amazingly Mulligan rallied and both men went toe to toe in the deciding fall. Mulligan used several lariats which caused Heenan and even Mr. Saito to save the title. Another comeback in the match saw Bockwinkel use several gut wrenches and FIGURE-FOURS to put Mulligan in a tough position. Mulligan had seven tokens when the bell rang and also appeared to pass out when the referee broke the leglock. Bockwinkel retained the title but did not win the match as the time limit expired. The fans were in a frenzy, especially since Mulligan showed so much bravery. Bockwinkel went bezerk as he claimed to turn back the challenge but the referee did not hear Mulligan submit over the crowd noise.
The broadcast ended shortly thereafter but this was likely not the last of the Mulligan-Bockwinkel rivalry. Announcers promised that the match between the Grappler and Koko B. Ware is now rescheduled to a future broadcast of the Action Hour.
Non-televised Feature Bouts: The intermission after the televised portion continued the drama from the Saturday Night Special. Bill Apter arrived at ringside for an exclusive post-match interview and segment. An irate Bockwinkel believed he won the match with Mulligan but was jobbed by bogus, bribed officials. He said that palooka could not last another two minutes with the champ and was willing to prove it. A battered champion joined the referee in the ring calling out the Texan. A bloody, bandaged Blackjack raced to ringside an blindsided Bockwinkel! Mulligan landed the CLAW HOLD and the referee "counted three" on a bewildered champion. Blackjack walked back to the dressing room, while a bandaged Bobby Heenan assisted Bockwinkel to the locker room. Heenan had the championship belt on his shoulder and was reportedly in tears screaming "non-title, non-title". He was visibly distressed from the turn of events in this impromptu match, albeit unsanctioned and non-title. This segment is an exclusive to the next Action Hour episode, along with ample footage of the Saturday Night Special. Heenan, Bockwinkel and Mulligan were all a mess as each looked like they just walked from a car wreck with the blood and ad-hoc bandages. What a sight!
Another grudge match saw Steve Williams and Magnum TA d. DDP and Larry Zbyszko. Williams and Magnum cleaned house on Page and Zbyszko as Larry Legend was pummeled from pillar to post. Magnum caught Larry off the top rope with a BELLY TO BELLY which allowed Doc to move in and use the STAMPEDE followed by a Press Slam to gain a measure of revenge on their new rivals. The fans were pumped from all the excitement. This fever pitch carried to the main event.
NO-DQ, TAG-TEAM match: Roddy Piper and Ace Orton d. Dutch Savage and Jimmy Snuka. Not surprisingly, this match was wild, wooly and off-the-charts. Piper and Orton used shrewd teamwork to keep Dutch and Superfly trying to catch up. Piper had enough time to slip some athletic tape to use with his SLEEPER. This choked out Snuka allowing for controversial pin for Piper.
NOTES: The TWF heads to SuperBrawl and it is full-speed ahead. The centerpiece will feature a rematch between TWF Champion Nick Bockwinkel and Blackjack Mulligan but TWF officials will add something special for that encounter. This something special will keep the Brain and the Family away from the match....Several matches are in the works with the first set announced during the next Action Hour episode. Stay tuned folks as the Action Hour hits Long Island while things build to the Big Apple SuperBrawl event.
The Special had two early Match of The Year candidates as first the Savage-Saito Kendo Stick match was a wild encounter. However, the match was overshadowed by the three falls TWF Title Match between Bockwinkel and Blackjack. All in all, a memorable night for the TWF!
