hi, first off im sorry if im posting this in the wrong section.
i;ve been playing COTG online for about a year now, and im starting to think i want to cross over to using actual card sets. i dont know i feel like im missing something from just the online version.
does anybody play both? any feelings on one version vs the other? is it dumb to spend money on the card sets i already have online?

Well, as far as being dumb, not really. It's the same thing for the people that have the card sets and pay for online. Just the way it is. It's just up to you, which way you like playing the game the most, card or online. Some people do both.

I have both.
At present I tend to use the cards to plan events and matches, then play the bouts online.

It is expensive, but I have both. While I play mostly online, I actually have ALL of the card sets as well.

I get both too, mainly so I can have the cards for Cons and stuff. I'm current in 2126, so I only have to buy the cards once a year.
If you're solo and play online, then you could do without the cards if you can live without them. I play mostly online and love it that way, but some of the cards like GWFZ, I use hard copy.

IF I could play on my iPhone, I would probably be more interested in Online. I own several online sets (2119-2123) but I almost never play online. We need a COTG iOS app.

If EVERYTHING was online, I would go that way, but I'm in an EC fed and with no way to merge the *created* guys with the official guys later, there just isn't that justification for me to do that. When and if it ever happens, then I'd probably buy the online sets, if for no other reason for the colored art!

(in my coach from the water boy voice) cards suck online is better... Lol just playing seriously I got into online due to space, table top and I LOVE online. I came up playing the cards though and tried to play cards again but I no longer have a laptop or a desk. Online presents some interest dynamics (upgrades, auto matches, battle royales, posting format) and I can see the drawbacks (occasional card errors, having online access, posting format takes time getting used to) I still can't see myself going back to cards and I'm a physical media type person

We need a COTG iOS app. Or a platform-agnostic web interface that would allow you to do everything, no matter if you were on a smartphone or a desktop. Just sayin'.
