WRESTLEWAR 2008; MARTIAL LAW draws closer, the Global Wrestling Federation roster is becoming volatile toward their rivals! With several rivalries spilling out into the personal life of several superstars, many of the critics are wondering when the Commissioner will step in and say enough is enough!
This episode of Wild Wednesday will be a historic occasion as for the first time ever, the Cosmic Tour Rebound winners will cash in their perspective shot at the championships. So far it hasn't faired well for the challengers as Master Race was anxious and lost their Rebound challenge against Darwin's Legacy on Card #571! However, the Philadelphia, PA fans will not be disappointed as three of the four championship titles will be defended on this event! Not to mention the special challenge match made at the GWFZ's
SEPARATION ANXIETY PaPer View between the teams of Beer Money and CTA Muscle...and did we mention the return of Retribution and Tricks?
Without further adieu, let the fireworks begin...
*Lorelei versus PHANTASY*: This match was totally the Blonde Bombshell's as Lorelei seemed to be distant in this bout. Phantasy started off with a turnbuckle charge and a Troubleshooter Press Slam that nearly garnered the three count and the Outlaw Nation put a quick end to the match with a SWEET SUICIDE finisher. Winner: Phantasy ( 1/2 *).
*Tristan versus Vidtek*: After Master Race nearly ended Tristan's career, he refuses to leave the federation for rehabilitation and is showing signs that the rigorous schedule is taking a toll on his body. It was no more obvious than during this match as Vidtek worked his knees over pretty good and Tristan could hardly climb back to his feet! Vidtek shouted to the fans that he was going to finish the Titan off and then tossed his hobbled opponent into the ropes. Tristan reversed the lariat and went for a top rope elbow but his knee gave out! Vidtek would end the match moments later with the BIG TIME maneuver. Winner: Vidtek (**).
*Woman's Championship Title match*
*Mother Superior versus STRAFE*: This contest was the first Cosmic Tours Rebound of the card and it was a doozy! The two divas battled back and forth for nearly fifteen minutes and the Divided We Fall matriarch nearly retained but after a Mother of Destruction maneuver pin attempt, Strafe countered with a small package that seemed to break the Woman's champion momentum! The Aethran diva used an arsenal of moves including the Strafe Shot, Skyscraper Powerbomb, and would have the referee slap the canvas for the three count after two straight TERMINAL HEIGHTS finishing moves. Winner: Strafe (****).
The arena's vidscreen came to life and the GWF Commissioner made the announcement that this year's edition of
WRESTLEWAR (Editor's Note: Click for theme song) main event will be a new type of match for the World Heavyweight Championship...the Championship Scramble! It is a match where two combatants start the contest and another wrestler will be introduced every five minutes until twenty minutes have passed! Anyone that makes a pin on the other participants will be the interim champion and will be recognized as champion only if the wrestler gets the last pin fall before time expires. Over the next six cards, the four challengers for the Championship Scramble will be determined and the first qualifier will be on
SATURDAY NIGHT XPLOSION (Card #575) between Monolith and Swarm! The Philadelphia arena roared it's approval of the Animan finally having to get a chance for the World Championship...
*Jungle Warriors versus PAPARAZZI*: This was easily the best match of the evening and both teams put on a fantastic wrestling display! The Main Event was the recipient of most of the beating that Paparazzi took and the Andromeda natives were really taking it to him! Regrettably for Panther Warrior, he would miss a Panther Leap over the top rope meant for Troy Boy and landed head first onto the concrete floor! Malkuth tried to help his partner back into the squared circle but Panther Warrior wouldn't be able to beat the referee's count. Winner: Paparazzi (by count out) (****).
*Retribution versus TRICKS*: The maniacal clown has fallen further into madness with his suspension and came out with somewhat of a new look (as well as a new theme)! Retribution looked like he wanted to simply end his opponent's life after the Trachis native was severely burned twice by the clown and didn't ease up at all. The referee kept warning Retribution that he was going to be disqualified if he continued but actually would be disqualified after Retribution refused to break a choke hold on the bloodied Tricks. After the ref finally got Retribution under control and backed away from Tricks, the sadistic clown would get off the canvas and sprayed Retribution with the COULROPHOBIA! Retribution, like the two times previous, writhed in agony on the mat and the referee assisted in the removal of the chemical in his eyes. Tricks once again smiled at the camera and mumbled..."The Circus of Fear is almost here". Winner: Tricks (by disqualification) (** 1/2).
*Havoc versus Wolf*: Havoc was not happy with the Commissioner's decision with Monolith battling Swarm for the first spot on the Championship Scramble and earlier he threw a serious hissy fit! His opponent, Wolf, would be facing off against Nosfera in the second qualifier of the Championship Scramble on Card #576! At the ten minute mark, Wolf would use a Wolf Skullcrusher and went for the first pin attempt of the match! Unfortunately for the Animan, Havoc would only be down for a one count and the Aethran turncoat would battle back to regain the momentum and after a Gothic Tomb Spike sensed the end was near! Havoc was right and ended the match after a devastating FALLEN DREAMS for the duke! Winner: Havoc (** 1/2).
*America's Most Wanted versus Master Race*: The fans at ringside were actually into the heel versus heel match and cheered every time one of them would get leveled! What do you expect? This is a fan base that snowballed Santa Clause at Veteran's Stadium back in the day...and it was like they reveled in the pain they were inflicting on one another! This match was brutal as both teams were relentless in their assault of the other as if it was to show the other who the dominant group was in the GWF and no punches were pulled! During the match, the fans watched three POWER OF KROLL finishers on the Outlaw nation group but still failed to put the Nation's team down. After US Male used a Rockets Red Glare on Thraxx, the Eugenic's member was stunned and turned around to face a Star Spangled Elbow from American Guy for the three count. Winner: America's Most Wanted (*** 1/2).
*World Championship Title match*
*Disaster versus Endgame*: This match was disappointing because of the one sided squash that was witnessed! This was the second Cosmic Tours Rebound match and if the fans went to go get refreshments they missed it! The Aethran Wrecking Machine started off fast and strong leveling the Corvus native with a Aethran Dominance maneuver. The World Champion quickly utilized a Decapitator and when the challenger recovered...dropped him like a bad habit with the RAMPAGE for the easy title defense! Winner: Disaster (1/2*).
*Special Challenge Tag Team Match**BEER MONEY versus CTA MUSCLE*: The GWFZ duo of Motor Psycho & Irish Heat aka Beer Money had insulted Rotunda literally to tears at
SEPARATION ANXIETY Pre-Show and the two battled Moral Majority at the PaPer View. Irish Heat and Psycho spanked and degraded Sabre every chance they got during the match. The newly "chiseled" Gryt challenged these two to face Tanck and himself on this card and Beer Money accepted. CTA Muscle played an unfamiliar roll of babyfaces in this match as the fans were generally cheering the duo from CTA- go figure. This match belonged to CTA Muscle as they made frequent tags and cut the ring in half to prevent Irish heat from tagging out to his partner! Tanck crushed Heat with a Strongman Slam and tagged out to the "pound for pound" Gryt! Gryt put the hurt on Heat and would pin the GWFZ superstar with Face First Slam to get the win. however the spectacle wasn't over yet as Gryt dragged heat to the turnbuckle and held the Irish wrestler from the outside of the ring. Tanck knocked Motor Psycho down to the arena floor with a running shoulder block and kept the Sagittan occupied! Rotunda clopped into the ring, striped of her size 54 panties and tossed them out to the fans(coincidently, the fans looked horrified and tossed them back to her...almost looked like a parachute opening)! Rotunda proceeded to give Irish Heat the "Fat Chick Thrilla" (a no pantie bronco buster) until Rotunda either was satisfied or grew tired from the exercise and then CTA Muscle left ringside. Winner: CTA Muscle (*).
*Intercontinental Championship Title match**Anivar versus Sly Drury* The final Cosmic Tour Rebound match and Sly Drury has been on a win streak before this match and Anivar, on the other hand, has been a slide of loses recently. The match was a decent one as these two have almost figured one another out and Anivar almost made the patriarch of the Outlaw Nation member tap out but Drury reached the ropes to break the hold. After approximately nine minutes, Sly Drury repeatedly used the illegal Flaunt the Law maneuver! The Philadelphia fans roared as Valour ran to ringside and came into the squared circle! As the ref tried to get Valour out of the ring, Sly Drury used Flaunt the Law on the referee himself and Valour rewarded Drury with a steel chair across the head! The ref called for the bell and disqualified the Outlaw Nation! Valour, however, wasn't finished with Drury as he continuously pummeled him with the steel chair until America's Most Wanted ran out for the save! Valour (who was being held back by Anivar) left ringside screaming at the Outlaw Nation stating that they were all going down. The last scene that was shown on the broadcast screen was a bloodied Drury getting picked up off the canvas by his partners in crime. Winner: Anivar (by disqualification) (***)
