Apocalypse 2087 12.29.2087 from Sextans Superspeedway, Sextantis.
- Injury and Suspension Update. - Nothing to report.
- Doc Strongbow's News Roundup. - Welcome to Apocalypse 2087, the final GWF event of the year and we plan to go out with a bang! Its also my last card as your Commissioner, all the more reason to make this one hell of an event. The main event tonight sees Thantos defend his title in a four corners match against Star Warrior, Spike and Massif. The Gladiators are also in action, defending their tag titles against Animal Magic. The Animen get their hands on the Gladiators for the first time, having seemingly made it their mission to battle the Aethran warriors. Another huge highlight sees Bishop Hell and Wolf go at it again in a rematch from Friday night. This is going to be huge folks, 2087 is coming to an end and the future of the GWF looks brighter than ever!
- Singles Bout - Pulsar vs. Ghengis Khan Pulsar defeated Ghengis Khan with a reverse piledriver at 2:38 Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: This was a great way to begin Apocalypse, the ever popular Pulsar really taking the more experienced Ghengis Khan to school. The Titan hit the ring in a hurry, pinning Khan a number of times before getting the three count. The disappointed villain beat the canvass with his fists before making his exit, leaving Pulsar to celebrate and soak in the excitement of the crowd. He stood on each corner turnbuckle in turn, marshaling the crowd as they chanted loudly. Its to be hoped that the rest of tonights action continues to impress from this good start.
- Singles Bout - Omega vs. Killer Queen Killer Queen defeated Omega with a Knife-edge at 10:29 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Killer Queen took the expected victory over the legendary Omega. It wasn't easy though as the battle raged for a full ten minutes. The veteran hero once more rolled back the years and put in a great performance, its becoming evident though that no matter how dedicated he remains, the old ability levels he enjoyed in his prime are long gone. The rumour that Omega may retire at the end of this year has been doing the rounds, but there's been no announcement yet. The winner of the bout Killer Queen celebrated robustly, with the three count recorded he was escorted from the ring by a bevy of regal beauties draped in extravagant silks. This man knows how to celebrate!
- Beauty and the Beast - We thought that Killer Queen had left the ring in style, that proved to be little more than a warm-up for the arrival of Vanity. The arena darkened, before the entranceway was lit by a line of glowing beams set into the floor at either side of that ramp. A dozen women dressed in billowing feathers and the like arrived at the end of the ramp, near the ring, forming a corridor. Then came Vanity, carried on an elaborate sedan chair by four bare chested, muscle bound men. Following behind two further men dragged a large wooden crate. This peculiar entourage made its was to the ring, where Vanity stepped from the chair and through the ropes, waiting while his helpers placed the large crate in the centre of the ring. Unfurling a leash, Vanity made toward the crate, signaling his men to open it up, he then stepped inside and emerged with an ugly, lumbering beast on the end of that leash. Having paraded the thing for a few moments he took to the microphone and addressed the crowd. "This my adoring fans is my pet, I personally and bravely freed him from the terrible cosmic zoo owned by Beast Rider. I call him The Creeper and I bring him here to the GWF. He will battle by my side and you are looking at the next Tag Team Champions. Together we are Beauty and the Beast. I thank you, now observe as we begin our journey into immortality." With that the crate and the helpers made their way from the ring and to the backstage area. The crowd waited to see how this new, bizarre team would fare as Commander Sam's music sounded over the speakers.
- Tag Team Bout - Bomb Squad vs. Beauty and the Beast Commander Sam defeated Vanity with a Cross-body press at 18:17 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: This wasn't exactly the result that Vanity wanted, though it was he that fell to the three count, he still showed anger and frustration with The Creeper, hurling abuse and accusations at his "pet" as he led the once more leashed beast from the ring. Sam and Adam were quick to berate Vanity after the win, unhappy of his treatment of The Creeper. Not that it did any good. The two earthmen seemed pleased with the win and look poised to have a good 2088, young Mr Blast continues to develop and improve, just how far can he go?
- Singles Bout - Death Knight vs. Renegade Renegade defeated Death Knight with a SPINECRACKER at 3:52 Match Rating: 2.25 Match Notes: Death Knight began well, putting together a few good attacking moves before Renegade took control. One he had the upper hand he never let go, the SPINECRACKER ended the encounter emphatically. Having taken the win, Renegade wasted no time and left the ring quickly. He didn't linger at all, and was gone almost before the fans realized what had happened.
- Tag Team Bout - Greek Gods vs. Norse Gods Lightening defeated Proteus with a NORSE SLEEPER GRIP at 4:13 Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: The Norse Gods won the battle of the Gods, they reversed their recent run of bad form with a win over the team they came to the GWF to challenge. Lightening proved that his NORSE SLEEPER GRIP is just as potent as the similar move used by Actagon. Not a good end to the year for The Greek Gods, they seem further away from the titles now than they have been for some time. As these two teams go into the coming year they look set to engage in a deadly feud, especially now that the Norse Gods are finding some form.
- Titan Death Match - Lord Nexus vs. Invincible Krakan Lord Nexus defeated Invincible Krakan with a Karate chop at 4:19 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Lord Nexus took a routine win against his mortal enemy. While Krakan survived three TITAN DROPS, he was clearly dazed and woozy. With little defence left he fell victim to the pin just moments later. There was a sense of disappointment among the fans, clearly much had been expected of this encounter and it failed to deliver. - Singles Bout - Wolf vs. Bishop Hell Bishop Hell defeated Wolf with a HELLFIRE at 10:37 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: Bishop Hell continued his unbeaten record in the GWF, this rematch was an epic encounter and a far tighter affair than before. Both men had opportunities and pin attempts. It was a fiercely brutal match that swung back and forth. Yet again it was the dreaded HELLFIRE that made the difference. Bishop Hell proved that he can compete on a level field with Wolf, though it was his diabolical finisher that he relied upon to end the match. With the win in the bag, Hell climbed the corner turnbuckle and conjured flame from his fist, shooting it skyward. A very deliberate display of his cheating ways. Surely he must get caught in the act soon?
- Tag Team Title Bout -
- Tag Team Bout - Gladiators of Aethra vs. Animal Magic for the Galaxian Tag Team Championship Massacre defeated Reptillo with a MASSACRE SLAM at 13:01 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: The first clash between these two teams ended with the champions coming out on top. The Animen had their chances, Massacre only just kicked out of the BURROW BLAST at one point. Incredible Badger was again the strongest element of his team, Reptillo continues to struggle with the level of competition in the GWF. Brute and Massacre have been dominant in the tag league for most of this year, ending 2087 clearly head and shoulders above all other teams. Can they be stopped in the coming year?
- Galaxian Title Bout -
- Fatal Four Way Bout - Thantos vs. Massif vs. Star Warrior vs. Spike for the Galaxian Championship Massif defeated Thantos with a VOLCANIC DROP at 24:35 Match Rating: 5.00 Match Notes: Massif claimed the title in this epic four way encounter. The four men battled ferociously for dominance as the crowd watched in awe at the events unfolding. Star Warrior crushed Spike with an amazing version of his NOVA LAUNCH into a ringside table that pretty much ended the Gladiators participation in the bout. As the popular hero jumped back into the ring, he was met by Thantos with a huge Satanic Skull Smasher that instantly left Star Warrior bleeding heavily, he fell back out of the ring and was a shadow of his former self for the remainder of the bout. Thantos had been targeted by all three of his opponents and was clearly weary as Massif closed in for the kill. A huge VOLCANIC DROP was sufficient to see a new champion crowned. Confetti fell from the ceiling as the big man held aloft the title. Thantos attacked the new champion and found himself victim to another massive VOLCANIC DROP that rocked the ring. Spike and Star Warrior received medical attention while Massif celebrated, the outgoing Commissioner, Doc Strongbow, arrived at the entranceway ramp and applauded the winner, he was clearly delighted to see Thantos dethroned. A new year and a new era in the GWF is about to begin.
Massif won the Galaxian Championship

GWF 47 01.02.2088 from Canopus Civic Coliseum, Carina.
- Commissioner Carter: 2087 in review. - "Welcome one and all, my name is Zachary Carter, and I'm here in my first official engagement as your new commissioner. Tonight we celebrate the year just ended, we look back at 2087 and those who excelled. We also look forward to 2088 with our first ever Rookie Brawl! So lets get down to it, we have three awards to give out tonight, starting with the Rookie of the Year. This goes to the man who made the biggest impact in their first year here in the GWF. To qualify they must have been competing for more than six months and less than eighteen. The first winner of the GWF Rookie of the Year Award goes to.... Pulsar! Earlier Pulsar recorded this message"
(The image flicked over to Pulsar, at ringside, clearly following a workout session.)
"Thank you so much to all the fans who've supported me through my first year, let me assure you that this simply wouldn't be possible without their help. I look forward to 2088 and doing everything in my power to prove worthy of this award. Thanks again everyone."
(Back to Carter we go, as he prepares for the next award.)
"Congratulations to Pulsar, well deserved I have to say. Now onto Tag Team of the Year, the award for the most dominant or improved team of the past 12 months. It should come as no surprise to hear that this goes to The Gladiators. They recorded the following message earlier."
(The image dissolved to show The Gladiators, all three of them. Massacre spoke briefly into the camera.)
"This is no less than we deserve. The most dominant team of all time are here. The rest of the galaxy, you better shut the hello up, The Gladiators are here!"
(Once more Carter reappeared and continued as before)
"Thanks to Massacre and Brute there. Now onto our final award of the year, its time to salute the GWF wrestler of the year. There's only been one man who's dominated for much of the year. Thantos takes the award, however he refused to record a winners speech. He claims that the manner in which he lost his title was fixed and denied the opportunity to associate himself with Doc Strongbow's period as commissioner any further."
(There followed a montage of the award winners in action, a hi-light reel of them in action. Thereafter, Carter continued.)
"Thank you folks, and congratulations to our winners. Now its to the ring and the first ever Rookie Brawl. This is open only to those wrestlers with less than six months experience at this point. That gives us eight entrants at this point. However, Krakan has introduced a new member of the Society of Death, making his debut in the Rookie Brawl will be Splatter! With a name like that, expect fireworks. This match will be fought under Battle Royal rules, the winner to receive a title shot at the next PPV! Now lets get down to the ring and let the action begin!"

GWF 48 01.09.2088 from Glacier Sound, Pluto.
- Injury and Suspension Update. - Nothing to report.
- Doc Strongbow's News Update. - Good evening and welcome fans to our second show of 2088. What a start to the year its been, last week we saw newcomer Splatter win the Rookie Rumble and book himself a title clash with Massif at Shakedown in a few weeks. Tonight we see Splatter in singles action, how will he fare against our rookie of the year Pulsar? We have yet another debutante tonight, Bishop Hell finds himself answering the challenge of the mysterious Mesmer. Now, Mesmer is the newest member of the Federation Defence Fighters, looks like Omega and Star Warrior have added to their number. Of course, the biggest news of late is the arrival of Commissioner Carter, he's already starting to shape the GWF the way he sees fit and I have to say I approve. The Rookie Brawl was a great way to begin his time in charge, while he's playing his cards close to his chest he has hinted that there are more signings to come in the following weeks. We of course know that a third Ani-man is joining us, no confirmation yet as to his identity but the rumour persists that it will be the former champion of the AWA. When I know more on either of these two new arrivals, you'll hear it here first fans. Now, lets get on with tonights action. Splatter lets see what you've got!
- Singles Bout - Pulsar vs. Splatter Pulsar defeated Splatter with a WHIRLWIND at 8:30 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: This doesn't bode well for Splatters forthcoming title match. Though the action was close throughout, there was no killer instinct from the new Society of Death member. He seemed overawed in making his singles debut. Credit has to be given to Pulsar, he was professional from the first bell and deserved to have his arm raised in victory. A fantastic start to the year for the fan favourite.
- Singles Bout - Renegade vs. Mutant Renegade defeated Mutant with a Shoulder breaker at 11:41 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: Renegade began well here, starting things off at high speed, he hit his SPINECRACKER in the early going and perhaps could have ended the bout earlier. However, Mutant proved to be remarkably defiant and fought back well, having the better of the mid section before Renegade again asserted himself. The Cropper claimed a well deserved win in the end, ensuring he made a great start to the new year. - Singles Bout - Pit Viper vs. Vanity Pit Viper defeated Vanity with a Count-Out at 3:51 Match Rating: 1.75 Match Notes: This was a straight forward win for Pit Viper, he was in control for the majority of the bout. In the early going Vanity tried to launch a series of attacks, but found himself thwarted in his efforts. When the Titan then upped his efforts and showed a more offensive edge Vanity seemed to crumble. He scurried out of the ring after a stinging Snake Bite and sought to recover. Pit Viper had other ideas though and he hit a perfect shoulder block from the top rope to the concrete floor, leaving Vanity laid out helplessly. The flambouyant one failed to make the ten count, unable to drag himself back into the ring in time.
- Tag Team Bout - Bomb Squad vs. Norse Gods Lightening defeated Adam Blast with a Cross-body block at 6:11 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: Both teams put in a great display, the battle raging right from the start. The action went back and forth until Man-Mountain and Adam Blast met in the ring, the young hero simply couldn't put the hurt on the big man. This proved to be the decisive period of the bout, by the time that Lightening tagged back in, Adam was spent and clearly was weakening. This gave the Norse Gods the opportunity they needed and the win duly followed. After a bad start to their time in the GWF, perhaps the Gods are finally finding their feet.
- Singles Bout - Thantos vs. Omega Thantos defeated Omega with a Running Clothesline at 6:50 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: Thantos spent longer during this bout arguing with the officials, the ringside announcers and even the fans! He is clearly still incredibly bitter about losing his title at the end of last year. Every time that the aged Omega found himself laid out on the mat the former champion failed to push the advantage and instead continued his ranting! Finally, Thantos nearly took Omega's head off with a thunderous clothesline, taking a routine three count before he grabbed a microphone and shouted out to anyone who would listen! "I am Thantos.. I should be champion, I have been robbed by a former and clearly biased Commissioner. I demand a title shot, I demand my rightful place as Champion once again. Until I have that shot, I am going to continue to break every opponent you dare put into the ring with me!"
With that Thantos turned his attention back to a still recovering Omega, he dragged him by the foot to the edge of the ring. there he climbed through the ropes, placed Omega's ankle on the edge of the ring apron and proceeded to stamp on it fully as he leaped from the ring. The resulting snapping of that ankle could be heard throughout the arena. The crowd clearly shocked and horrified as the furious Thantos stalked back stage.
- Singles Bout - Star Warrior vs. Killer Queen Star Warrior defeated Killer Queen with a NOVA LAUNCH at 11:04 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: A clearly distracted Star Warrior took his time to get going in this encounter, he was very obviously concerned with the well being of his father who moments earlier, had left the arena on a stretcher. When he landed his impressive NOVA LAUNCH the bout was all over however. The popular hero found himself a microphone and made a very brief, simple statement. "Commissioner Carter, I want Thantos in the ring. He will pay".
With that threat hanging in the air, Star Warrior left the arena to the cheers of the crowd.
- Tag Team Bout - Animal Magic vs. Henchmen Comrade Terror defeated Reptillo with an ATOMIC WARHEAD at 12:15 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: After the drama of the last couple of bouts, it was good to see some quality wrestling with both of these teams putting on an impressive display. Its unfortunate that Reptillo seems to lack the ability of his tag partner. Once again it was down to Incredible Badger to put in a double shift in order for Animal Magic to be truly competitive. He could do nothing though when Comrade Terror finished off Reptillo. He just couldn't make the save in time, thanks to the timely intervention by Executioner. It will be interesting to see if the team dynamic changes once the final member of the Animen arrives. Many fans continue to speculate that it'll be the AWA heavyweight champion Battering Ram. Time alone will tell.
- Singles Bout - Bishop Hell vs. Mesmer Bishop Hell defeated Mesmer with a HELLFIRE at 21:26 Match Rating: 5.00 Match Notes: Wow! What a bout, Mesmer started brilliantly and took a clear early advantage. But Bishop Hell was not to be out done and he staged a great comeback, having a great spell of dominance before yet again the bout swung the other way. The two men brawled both in and out the ring, thrilling the crowd with the intensity of the match-up. Mesmer proved to be immediately popular and had the fans chanting his name loudly. Toward the end of the fight, Bishop Hell hit a perfect FLYING CROSS, it seemed that he probably could have taken the win there and then, but he refused to go for the count, instead setting up Mesmer for his dreaded HELLFIRE. The referee wasn't in position to see the illegal move and it earned the villain a hard fought victory.
Overall Card Rating: 3.06

Great action, as usual!
Your cards always have a nice flow to them and the simplicity belies the great story-telling.
The tag team division is definitely a hi-light in the proceedings and the tease for Battering Ram's eventual entrance is nice.
Pulsar and Pit-Viper (two of my personal faves from 2087) pick up some nice wins, especially Pulsar beating Splatter.
Star Warrior and Thantos are, of course, the bedrock of any GWF Silver Age and Thantos' attack on Omega sets up what should be a great match (though they had their share of duds back in my 2087-2089ish era).
Bishop Hell was always one of my top performers. There was a time when literally any match he was in was close to, if not, 5 stars all the way. I'll never forget the night he beat Star Warrior for the Galaxian title while already holding the IP strap. Much like Flair, he could take a hell of a beating and might not always pin you clean, but Bishop Hell found a way to win.
Can't wait for the next 2088 card!

GWF 49 01.16.2088 from Ariel Armoury, Uranus.
- Injury and Suspension Update. - Nothing to report.
- Doc Strongbow's News Update. - Good evening fans, welcome back to the GWF. Now its fair to say that the last week has been a long one, it certainly seems like its much more than a week since we were last here! The main event tonight sees an encounter between Lord Nexus and Killer Queen, we are also promised further news on the arrival of a new Titan joining the hallowed ranks of the GWF. Tonight is the continuation of the new year, 2088 hits a new level and we motor into the future strongly. The Ani-Men have yet to provide further news on the expected arrival of their newest member. However, it is expected that it could well be the reigning champion of the AWA, yes that's right Ram may well soon feature here in the GWF! With that thought in mind, lets get on with the action, its time to get underway.
- Singles Bout - Pulsar vs. Mutant Mutant defeated Pulsar with a Face mangler at 3:25 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: There were great hopes among the Titans that young Pulsar would hit the new year with a bang. Simply put he didn't seem to be on his game tonight, starting badly it only got worse. Every move he attempted fell short and Mutant was able to turn the tables in the process of recording a well deserved win. Mutant clearly wasn't overwhelmed by the win, he seemed completely unaware of the three count. Long after Pulsar had left the ring with the bitter taste of defeat, Mutant was still rebounding off the ropes as he ran back and forth aimlessly.
- Singles Bout - Mesmer vs. Death Knight Mesmer defeated Death Knight with an Eye blinder at 1:30 Match Rating: 0.75 Match Notes: This was a non-event of a match, Mesmer dominated from the first moment and took a simple win. Death Knight was hopelessly outclassed here and found himself on the losing end in short order. The Master of the Occult recorded a first win in the GWF and will clearly be hoping this is the start of great things. It has to be said that he's not a popular wrestler with the fans, there seems to be an aura about him that inspires uneasiness. - Tag Team Bout - Greek Gods vs. Beauty and the Beast Proteus defeated The Creeper with an OVERHEAD TOSS at 13:45 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: The Greek Gods put on a fantastic display here, showing great teamwork throughout. Actagon was in the ring for the early part of the encounter, wearing down the opponents until the more powerful Proteus took over and delivered the crushing finish to the bout. The OVERHEAD TOSS proved the decisive blow and led to the win. There wasn't too much celebrating by the by the victors at the end, clearly they have other targets in mind.
- Singles Bout - Commander Sam vs. Exo-King Commander Sam defeated Exo-King with a SAMS ATOMIC DROP at 1:46 Match Rating: 1.50 Match Notes: This short bout was very much in two parts, the early moments were dominated by Exo-King he bullied Sam in the ring and was well on the way to an easy win. However, when the two men tumbled from the ring, Commander Sam took over, after whipping his opponent into the ring post. Exo-King was clearly stunned and unable to gather himself as he was thrown back into the ring. With a couple of SAM'S ATOMIC BLASTS it was all over, an upset win for the popular american.
- Singles Bout - Adam Blast vs. Ghengis Khan Ghengis Khan defeated Adam Blast with a Ghengis Khan hits a perfect flying cross-body to the outside! at 2:49 Match Rating: 0.75 Match Notes: Ghengis Khan dominated completely, he crushed Adam Blast with ease. Taking to the air to showcase his acrobatic skills, Khan landed several crushing deathjumps in a row, Adam simply had no answer to that sustained attack. Thereafter Khan tossed his young opponent out of the ring, where the american simply was unable to get back to his feet. Khan sat in the corner of the ring and waited while the referee counted to ten, then he lifted to his feet and sidled from the arena with the win in the record books.
- Singles Bout - Thantos vs. Pit Viper Thantos defeated Pit Viper with a Satanic Skull Crusher at 1:37 Match Rating: 1.50 Match Notes: Pit Viper had asked for this match, he wanted desperately to climb into the ring with the former champion again. Perhaps hoping to prove that he could do better against his formidable opponent. However, Thantos had other ideas, he hit a perfect Satanic Skull Crusher from the top rope and didn't even need to turn to his feared MASTERLOCK. With the win recorded he claimed a microphone and snarled his frustrations. "I should be champion, I am Thantos and I want my title back. This federation is a [censored] joke, I demand respect." With that he left the ring, leaving a still dazed Pit Viper struggling to make it to his feet.
- Tag Team Bout - Henchmen vs. Animal Magic Comrade Terror defeated Reptillo with a Comrade Terror hits a surprise cross-body press! Here\'s the cover! at 13:19 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: The Ani-Men just can't seem to find any kind of momentum, yet again The Incredible Badger was the driving force with Reptillo proving to be the weak link. He seems a shadow of the dominant tag champion we'd seen in the AWA previously. However, despite the weakness evident in Animal Magic, the skills demonstrated by The Henchmen should not be overlooked. Comrade Terror and Executioner continue to grow as a team and are sure to remain a constant threat for the tag titles throughout the coming year.
- Singles Bout - Lord Nexus vs. Killer Queen Lord Nexus defeated Killer Queen with a TITAN DROP at 7:02 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: These two men always put on a good display and it was no different here. The skillful and swift attacking style of both competitors make for a real treat for the fans. Lord Nexus however emerged the victor and it was his TITAN DROP that proved the difference maker. A breathless display of high flying wrestling brought to an end a fine evenings entertainment. However, there was more to come! While Nexus celebrated, his mortal enemy Krakan dashed to the ring and attempted an attack, fortunately for the Titan he missed in his first assault, and then found himself laid out in the centre of the ring. The victim of a thunderous right hook by a newcomer who'd leapt into the ring to defend Lord Nexus. The leader of the Titans then took the time to introduce the newcomer as Billy Jo Boxer, announcing that he was the newest member of the Titans and that they'd be forming a tag team with the aim of claiming the gold. The evening therefore ended on a high for the fans, with both Killer Queen and Krakan laid out helplessly, Nexus and Boxer left the arena to a huge and lasting cheer of support from the crowd.
