Good evening folks and welcome to the fiftieth GWF house show since our relaunch at the beginning of last year.
We are just a week away from Shakedown where our new champion Massif will defend against Splatter.
Building up to this huge event tonight sees a return to the ring for the legendary Omega. With it being the 50th event tonight, we have not one but two main events!
Wolf takes on Exo-King while Bishop Hell brings his unbeaten run to the ring against Star Warrior.
But thats not all, we have the debut of our newest tag team Titan Power and the ever popular Lord Nexus has already declared that they intend to go all guns blazing to earn the tag team title straps.
Now, down to the ring. Lets get this thing started.
- Singles Bout -
Omega vs. Massacre
Massacre defeated Omega with a DECAPITATOR at 3:32
Match Rating: 0.50
Match Notes: Omega missed an early running shoulder tackle into the turnbuckle and from that moment on he was at Massacre's mercy.
A series of high impact moves came to an end with the DECAPITATOR, though to his credit Omega survived the first of these, though it had no effect on the flow of the bout.
The Gladiator claimed an easy win, very straight forward stuff. It seems a shame to see the once great Omega struggling to reach the heights he'd previously attained.
- Singles Bout -
Pit Viper vs. Spike
Spike defeated Pit Viper with a SUPER DESTROYER at 13:45
Match Rating: 4.00
Match Notes: These two men put on a great show in what proved to be a very even bout for the most part. Spike's power eventually proved the difference maker, though the Gladiator seemed a little surprised by the brutal nature of Pit Vipers attacks.
The young Titan continues to push the bounds of decency as he fought with a ferocious nature that belies his place as one of the heroic Titans.
- Tag Team Bout -
Bomb Squad vs. Animal Magic
Incredible Badger defeated Commander Sam with a BURROW BLAST at 3:21
Match Rating: 2.25
Match Notes: Reptillo put in a match winning performance here and for once showed that he has some real talent. He dominated the veteran Commander Sam before tagging out to Incredible Badger. The BURROW BLAST levelled the human and the impressive Reptillo prevented Adam Blast from making the pin save.
If Reptillo can keep this kind of form up and provide a strong partner to the clearly very skilled Badger then Animal Magic could go a long way and perhaps see a title shot in the near future.
- Singles Bout -
Renegade vs. Mutant
Renegade defeated Mutant with a SPINECRACKER at 13:21
Match Rating: 3.50
Match Notes: Mutant came to the ring with fire in his eyes and clearly knew his stuff on this occasion, he fought with a real passion and purpose. However, Renegade was equally up for the challenge and proved just too great an obstacle for the ugliest man in wrestling.
With the bout swinging back and forth and a number of violent engagements outside of the ring it was no surprise to see both men bleeding by the time the end came.
The dreaded SPINECRACKER finished the encounter, once it was locked in there was just no escape for the Mutant. He should be congratulated though, its not often he comes to the ring so prepared to fight.
- Tag Team Bout -
Greek Gods vs. Henchmen
Comrade Terror defeated Proteus with an ATOMIC WARHEAD at 43:20
Match Rating: 5.00
Match Notes: Wow! This must be an early contender for tag team bout of the year!
This battle was so hard fought and competitive that the whole crowd were on the edge of their seats throughout. Until the half hour mark there was nothing to separate the two teams, they both had periods of dominance and all four men gave and took a great deal of punishment.
However, it was at that half hour point that things turned in favour of the Henchmen, Proteus barely survived two HEADSMAN GUILLOTINES and it looked like it was all over. However, there were hopes of a heroic comeback as the Greek Gods fought back brilliantly.
When the end came it was greeted with a standing ovation, despite the fact that the hugely unpopular Henchmen emerged victorious.
- Singles Bout -
Mesmer vs. Killer Queen
Mesmer defeated Killer Queen with a BLACKOUT at 8:35
Match Rating: 2.75
Match Notes: Mesmer claimed a well deserved win here, he was in control for the majority of the bout and never looked in any real trouble.
Killer Queen had a few moments in the ascendancy, but they were few and far between and he was never able to turn them into anything meaningful.
With the win secured Mesmer rolled from the ring and signaled his delight, the crowd however continue to be slow in warming to him. But it has to be said that he's getting there, slowly but surely he's garnering more followers.
- Tag Team Bout -
TitanPower vs. Norse Gods
Lord Nexus defeated Lightening with a TITAN DROP at 9:18
Match Rating: 3.50
Match Notes: Titan Power made an emphatic start to their career in the tag team ranks. They showed an immediate skill at working together.
Billy Jo Boxer made an impressive debut but it was his partner Lord Nexus that really shone.
Their opponents, The Norse Gods were unable to raise any meaningful offence and were well beaten in the end. They did prove hard to beat however and kept themselves in contention for longer than seemed possible.
- Singles Bout -
Wolf vs. Exo-King
Wolf defeated Exo-King with a SAVAGE FACE CLAW at 47:45
Match Rating: 5.00
Match Notes: Another epic as Wolf and Exo-King fought valiantly, a truly brutal match-up that electrified the audience. Exo-King looked to have the better of the bout for the most part, but he was just unable to put Wolf away.
Though he continued to have the better of things, King was unable to finish and began to tire into the later stages.
Wolf had his moments and was always in contention, when he finally caught his opponent in his SAVAGE FACE CLAW there just wasn't enough fight left in Exo-King and he was forced to tap.
With two main events tonight, the next bout has a lot to live up to.
- Singles Bout -
Star Warrior vs. Bishop Hell
Star Warrior defeated Bishop Hell with a Cross body block at 15:32
Match Rating: 3.50
Match Notes: Star Warrior survived an early FLYING CROSS and then began to assert himself and build toward a well deserved victory.
The hugely popular hero brought Bishop Hell's winning streak to an end, in the later stages of the encounter he simply dazzled Hell with his skilled and swift attacks that left the villain exhausted and without the strength to kick out of a well timed cross body block.
While it seems certain that Thantos will get his title shot soon, it has to be noted that Star Warrior is knocking on that door.
Overall Card Rating: 3.33
