New Year Knockout 2125
01.01.2125 from Deimos Arena
- Sly Drury ushers in 2125 -
Sly Drury is introduced and comes to the ring flanked by security and followed by team Martial Law. Drury feigns sadness over the serious accident on Aethra that has put Monolith out of action for the foreseeable future and gives him credit for winning the Fatal Encounter and ending the career of Wolf.
Drury then announces his displeasure with Retribution for leaving team Martial Law. He notes that Retribution won the GWF Interplanetary title under his leadership, but couldn't hold onto it. He says there are no hard feeling though, and to show that he is booking Retribution to be in the very first match of 2125.
Retribution warily makes his way to the ring, watching the members of Martial Law closely as he enters the ring. Sly laughs and puts him at ease by dismissing his team. Sly says that Retribution will not be facing any member of team Martial Law tonight, but instead will have the "honor" of welcoming the Heathen Chief from Primus to our dimension.
With that said, the pounding drums of Paganax music begin and the Heathen Chief makes his Deimos Arena debut.
Retribution vs. Paganax
Paganax defeated Retribution with a Primal Scream
Match Rating: 3.00
Match Notes: Retribution would not be intimidated and attacked Paganax at the bell. The Chief shrugged it off and tried to end it early, but Retribution hung on and made a comeback. The bout turned into a tough brawl until Paganax hit a big shoulder block off the top rope and nearly took the win. Retribution finally made one last ditch effort and reversed a throw into the corner. He charged the corner, but Paganax met him with the Primal Scream for the win.
- The Infinity Challenge begins -
A video detailing how the tournament was brought to the GWF and the rules of the Infinity Challenge is shown in the arena. Then it is announced that the first picks in the woman's division will be made at this time and that those top two picks will square off in the first match next.
Dialectas' carefully studied and measured first pick is revealed as SHANN-RA is introduced and makes her way to the ring.
Next the intuition-based Abroz pick is revealed as She Devil comes out cracking her whip and smirking at her opponent.
- Infinity Challenge match -
Shann-Ra vs. She Devil
Shann-Ra defeated She Devil with a MACHETE at 5:57
Match Rating: 3.00
Match Notes: She Devil dominated the action by using her edge in speed, but Shann-Ra picked up the win with her aggressive nature and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the win. In the end she pulled She Devil out of the ring, ran her head into the post, and tossed her back in to set up the finisher and the pin.
Ensor vs. Coven Black
Ensor defeated Coven Black with an ERUPTION OF THARSIS
Match Rating: 4.00
Match Notes: Ensor electrified the fans with his array of high-flying moves in the opening minutes and appeared to be on the way to a route of the disturbing newcomer. But Black got back into the match and held his own as the match evolved into a fantastic, intense encounter. In the end Ensor went up to the top rope, but Black recovered and followed, attempting to superplex Ensor. Ensor blocked and dropped Black face-first to the mat. He followed with a spectacular dive off the top to set up the ERUPTION and the pin.
Black got up, noticed a trickle of blood on his lip, licked it off, and calmly, slowly walked back to the locker room area.
- Infinity Challenge continues -
The first tag team picks are up next.
This time Abroz picks first. The first member of his top tag team is revealed when TRISTAN comes to the entrance stage. After a few seconds to build the drama he is joined by MALKUTH. Tristan greets his new partner and the two head to the ring together.
Next up is the pick of Dialectus; the tag team specialists with over a dozen tag team titles between them, Bloodline and US Male.
- Infinity Challenge match -
Men Of Honor vs. Air Strike
Tristan defeated U. S. Male with a bouble leg kick
Match Rating: 3.00
Match Notes: The evenly contested match was a display of skill and sportsmanship. The partners all were clearly in the "feeling out process" of their new teams, but Tristan and Malkuth worked well enough together to take the win.
- Aethran Overmaster speaks -
The Overmaster strides to the ring with the GWF championship belt around his waist. He steps over the ropes and demands attention. The crowd grows quiet as he details his GWF title win over Wolf, his victory over Endgame, and the fact that, with Monolith out of the way, no one stands poised as the number one contender to face him for the GWF championship.
Then Havoc comes to the arena. He says the attitude and the policies of dictators like Overmaster are just a few of the reasons he betrayed Aethra and he's more glad than ever that he did. Havoc says it will only take him one shot to end Overmaster's unbeaten streak and take the GWF championship. Overmaster quickly interrupts Havoc and says he's done nothing to prove himself worthy of even SPEAKING to the Overmaster, much less stepping in the ring with him. Overmaster then says he's invoking the powers Sly Drury handed him this year and decreeing a match to occur right now between Havoc and Rush. Then win, lose, or draw Havoc and Payback will put the tag team championship on the line against the new Gladiator tag team of Rush and Turmoil on the next show.
Havoc vs. Rush
Havoc defeated Rush with a FALLEN DREAMS
Match Rating: 1.00
Match Notes: Rush didn't put up as much offense as expected and disappointed Overmaster in falling to the Aethran traitor's finisher.
After the bout Overmaster sent Rush to the back and told Havoc that he just took one step closer to his own annihilation.
- Interplanetary title match -
Swarm vs. Encubus
for the GWF Interplanetary Championship
Swarm defeated Encubus with an Exploder suplex
Match Rating: 0.00
Match Notes: Encubus never had a chance to get started. He went to lock up with Swarm, but got a head butt to the nose instead. Swarm followed up with a quick Exploder suplex and took the shocking quick win.
After the decision the young THANTOS came to the ring and began to verbally thrash his "son", taunting him by telling him "You're pathetic!" and "Take a look at yourself in the mirror! You're not good enough to be my son."
Encubus attacked Thantos and Patch ran out to enter the fray. Swarm jumped in, but newcomer Symbiosis ran out to put the odds in their team's favor. Payback and Hector raced out to help their teammates, with Hector downing Patch with a brutal kick to the groin. Finally SLY DRURY came to the ring with GWF Security to order an end to the fight.
The Legends Of The Ring began to make their way back to the locker rooms, but Sly had two members of GWF Security use stun guns on Hector and drag him back into the ring as their fellow guards held the Legends at bay with their rifles drawn. Sly said that was punishment for the "unsportsmanlike conduct" of kicking Patch in the groin and called his referee to the ring to officiate the main event.
Hector vs. Sly Drury
This match ended in a draw (no contest)
Match Rating: 3.00
Match Notes: Hector had Sly pinned with I KNOW YOUR SECRET, but the referee laid down a slow count and Sly was able to kick out right before the three. The heated match continued until Hector hit his finisher again. He turned and kicked at a member of GWF Security who was standing at ringside before going for the cover. The security guard jumped into the ring and attacked Hector, bashing him in the back with the butt of his rifle. The referee called for the bell as Security helped Sly to his feet. The fans were stunned as the referee called for the bout to be ruled a "no-contest" since, as he explained, Hector provoked the attack by his aggressive act towards a member of security.
Sly stood in the ring scowling down at Hector, who was laying on the mat in pain. He stood over Hector and reminded him who runs the GWF. Hector managed to whisper something as he lay there; something that caused Sly to turn pale. Sly quickly motioned for his troops to exit the ring. Sly retreated with his men as Hector got to his feet, stared straight at Sly, uttered the now familiar "I know your secret", and used his hands to cover the mouth of his mask in the classic "speak no evil" gesture.
Overall Card Rating: 2.43
