Can't tell you guys how disappointed I was with Morpheus' loss. I thought Keller was a quality opponent, but this is the "skills slipped a notch" version, not his prime version that I retired after his title loss to Caelum last "year". There will be a rematch, but after his win against Caelum I was really hoping he'd get a good run. Hopefully this will be a stumble along a greater path.
The rest of the card couldn't have gone better, honestly, so to end in that manner, while disappointing, wasn't the end of the world.
Thanks for the comments! Appreciate the support and interest. The first Main Event of 2080 will be up in the next day or two. Should have some good stuff in store!

GWF Classics #79: The Main Event 01.27.2080 from Canopus Civic Coliseum, Carina
- GWF News - -Morpheus has been dethroned in his first defense and KO Keller is a 2-time champ! Keller was giving his post-fight interview backstage when he was interrupted by the former champ! Morpheus told him that Keller is a lucky man. Plain and simple. But sooner or later, luck always runs out. And when that happens it’s time for a Trip to Hades courtesy of the Natural Disaster! He wants his rematch and he’s getting it… Tonight!
-Paladin Power and the tag team champion Estorians gave us the match of the night and one of the greatest contests in GWF history! Parsec will be taking on Solar Flare in singles competition tonight, but word is that these two teams don’t want to wait long for a tag team title rematch.
-Speaking of tag team gold, the competition has definitely gone up a notch and there’s no denying that we have two quality teams in contention. The Gamemasters, of course, are likely to get a title shot very soon, but Hechilles & Caiman have stepped up their game quite a bit and knocked off Defiance at the Perennial. Who will be next in line? These two teams will meet soon, but in the meantime, we’ve got some singles action between Cosmos and Hechilles! This could be an amazing match.
-Commander Sam may very well have vanquished his most hated foe, but rumor has it Mangus is already on his way back to the GWF. Will things have cooled between these two after their bloody encounter in the barbed wire steel cage? Or is there more left to this rivalry? In the meantime, Sam has every right to consider himself a contender to the GWF title held by his partner, KO Keller. Of course, first Keller has to fend off Morpheus in a rematch. Whatever the outcome, Sam could get his chance at singles gold in the very near future.
- The Mighty Grogan made a mighty debut, indeed. Silvar, a powerful competitor in his own right, was steamrolled by Grogan at the Perennial. Who will Grogan face tonight?
-And, as if this wasn’t already enough, we’ll see match 2 in a proposed series between Omega and Torin Caelum. They had an excellent match at the Perennial with Caelum getting his hand raised at the end of the night. Two of the most honorable technicians in our business. Omega’s strikes and mat game go up against the submission skills of the Sagitta Strangler in what could be another classic in competitive and friendly rivalry that puts the sportsmanship first, right where it belongs in the GWF!
Solar Flare vs. Parsec Solar Flare defeated Parsec with a DQ at 6:03 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: The tension between these two didn't take long to get out of hand, or for their partners to get involved.
The ref was able to keep order for a while, but eventually action spilled outside one too many times and Tantalis and Parsec double teamed Solar Flare drawing a DQ!
Moonstrike, of course, was at ringside and soon we had a four way brawl!
Officials separated the two teams and the Estorians grabbed their belts from the timekeepers table to hold them high and tauntingly in front of Paladin Power.
This rivalry is just getting started and it's off to a hot start!
Mighty Grogan vs. Mimic Mighty Grogan defeated Mimic with an UPPER CRUSH at 22:47 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: A clash of styles led to a 4 star classic as Mighty Grogan is truly tested by the mad mime from hell.
Grogan was in control, but Mimic quickly came back and scored a near fall with a fisherman suplex! MIMIC NERVE SLEEPER, but Grogan powers out! Mimic applies it again! And again, Grogan powers out! Incredible, but they have clearly taken their toll.
Mimic put his body on the line and hit a spectacular dive half way through the match that wiped out both men and Grogan came up bleeding after hitting the railing.
Somehow Grogan kept coming back, though, and they jockeyed for position in a wonderful back and forth match.
Eventually, Grogan caught Mimic off the ropes and used an airplane spin, followed by a DDT, and then applied the UPPER CRUSH for the first time in the match to submit a weakened Mimic. After a lot of punishment and multiple spine busters, Mimic couldn't take the powerful arms of Grogan.
Grogan is human after all, but it was a Mighty comeback and his power puts away Mimic.
Great match. What's next for Grogan?
Cosmos vs. Hechilles Hechilles defeated Cosmos with THE END at 1:07 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Unbelievable! Hechilles takes an atomic drop, but then blocks a forearm and hits a huge belly to back release suplex for a near fall. He immediately follows it up with THE END! 1, 2, 3!
Hechilles with a huge win.
Star Warrior is in to check on his partner. Even with how much potential Cosmos has, he's still go a ways to go and Hechilles has a strong victory.
Omega vs. Torin Caelum Omega defeated Torin Caelum with a TOMAHAWK THRUST at 9:39 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: Great story as Omega was willing to take some risks and target Caelum's neck to try and wear him down.
Caelum kept coming back, though and survived numerous pin fall attempts. He came back quite a few times trying to stretch Omega and scoring a near fall of his own.
Still, Omega was a little too quick for Caelum and escaped a chicken wing attempt to shoot Caelum into the ropes. Huge double clothesline!
Omega is able to get to his feet first as Caelum is struggling with the weakened neck after numerous pile drivers!
Omega hits the TOMAHAwK THRUST! 1... 2... NO!
TOMAHAWK THRUST again!
1, 2, 3!
They've evened this series at 1 apiece! Two excellent matches in the books, too. And we're not even close to being done.
Caelum is clutching his neck, but takes the handshake from Omega as the fans applaud another great effort from both men.
- 2/3 Falls - Morpheus vs. K.O. Keller for the Galaxian Championship K.O. Keller defeated Morpheus with THE TEN COUNT at 22:37 Morpheus defeated K.O. Keller with a TRIP TO HADES at 15:43 K.O. Keller defeated Morpheus with THE TEN COUNT at 31:58 Match Rating: 5.00 Match Notes: A bonafide classic here. Back and forth, back and forth, the whole way.
The first fall came when Morpheus caught Keller off the top with a sick looking TRIP TO HADES.
The second fall was furious and have filled. It spilled outside and Keller had no issue taking liberties and got away with it. He busted Morpheus open and was able to put the bloody former champ away with THE TEN COUNT.
The final fall was an incredible testament to both men's endurance and will to win. Morpheus went all out and hit a cross body from the top for a near fall and then two TRIPS TO HADES, but Keller got the shoulder up! Morpheus couldn't believe it.
Keller got away with more chicanery on the outside and put Morpheus through a table with a chicken wing suplex!
Morpheus tried for a comeback by reversing a whip into the corner, but Keller moved and Morpheus hit the post for a near fall! Keller hit a running forearm hammer and followed it with THE TEN COUNT to get a hard fought win.
Amazing match and in spite of the shortcuts by Keller, the fans are on their feet for both men.
Morpheus is a bloody mess and once again finds himself on the losing side of a title match. But, with the liberties taken by Keller, could he have a grievance for a rematch? Or is this the end for these two?
Regardless, KO Keller is your champ and raises the belt high after a tough defense.
Overall Card Rating: 2.97

Pretty or not, one fact remains... KO Keller is still at the top of the mountain... Morpheus definitely has just cause to demand a rematch, but the question will soon arise... How many chances should one man receive before being shuffled to the bottom of the deck? Something tells me the Natural Disaster is running out of opportunities...
Memorable wins for Omega and Grogan on this card... And I must add that I really enjoy the GWF News section that serves as a prelude to each show... Excellent touch!

FLUSH! Hear that Morph? your dreams and desires out the airlock. KO-Mania running wild as he did something Morpheus did...he retained his title Omega and Caelum are going to make this tour one to remember if they keep matches like this going. Paladin Power is going to dog the Estorians until something drastic happens. several great contests. tough loss for Cosmos the Gamesmasters see way stronger as a team rather than apart. and speaking of power...MIGHTY! Grogan with another win. great show

Well though I never like seeing Mimic (or Caelum) lose, quite the debut for Grogan. Keller just seems to have Morpheus right now.

Thanks for the comments, TTX, barflymike4ever, & Pariah! Much appreciated. Still feeling burned with Morpheus. Don't know what it is, but he can't seem to sustain any momentum. He's always good for exciting matches, though. So, at least there's that. Still on the fence about another rematch. But Keller did legit get away with something like 5 DQ worthy out of the ring spots. Mimic gave Grogan one hell of a run for his money and nearly spoiled his Main Event debut in the opening minutes. He's a great hand and I enjoy using him, but I didn't want to see him squash the Mighty one, haha. Caelum and Omega is a program that will last the better part of the year. I think it could reinvigorate Omega, too. In storyline he's started to feel a little weary as the sportsmanship has been lost along the way. Some would ask if it was ever really there. Paladin Power is looking strong and they would love to hand the Estorians their first loss since they debuted a year ago, especially for the title. Thanks again! The next Main Event will be up within the next day or two.

GWF CLassics #80: The Main Event 02.17.2080 from Ecliptic Arena, Libra
- GWF News - -Morpheus, failing to capitalize in his rematch against KO Keller, wants one more shot, claiming that Keller flat out broke the rules and should’ve been DQ’d more than once. The GWF Board, recognizing Morpheus’ grievances have decided to sign a one fall non-title match for tonight! If Morpheus wins he will get one last shot at regaining his title at Galactic Wars! Should he lose, he will not be allowed a title shot for the rest of the year!
-Star Warrior will face Caiman tonight in singles action. After Hechilles destruction of Cosmos, will Warrior be able to even the odds heading into their number 1 contender’s match on the next Main Event?
-Grogan struggles against the smaller and faster Mimic, but still came away with the win. Who will the rookie face tonight? Rumor has it that Silvar wants another match. Will he get it?
-Tantalis and Moonstrike will face off in singles action leading to the epic rematch between Paladin Power and the Estorians for the tag team titles! It’s been announced their ⅔ Falls rematch will have no time limit! There must be a winner!
-Speaking of tag teams, we’ll also see Defiance taking on the Windriders to kick off the show!
Defiance vs. The Windriders This match ended in a draw (Double DQ) at 2:52 Match Notes: Jammer started off with Rama and was laying in a beating. He dropped him with consecutive DDTs and went for the cover, but Tano is in and starts laying stomps to Jammer. The ref tries to get control, but Blood is in and we've got a four-way brawl!
The ref tries to restore order, but can't get things under control and he DQs both teams!
Absolutely unexpected result, but it's no secret that Defiance are and always have been stone cold brawlers. Rama and Tano have certainly added an edge to their style and attitude over the last year.
I'm sure we'll see these two teams meet again soon...
Mighty Grogan vs. Silvar Silvar defeated Mighty Grogan with a TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER at 1:24 Match Notes: Silvar came out swinging, but Grogan put him down with a big shoulder block. But then Mimic rolled out from under the ring and distracted Grogan with his creepy mime routine...
Silvar, never seeing Mimic clobbered him with a clothesline and then hit the TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER to score what has to be considered an upset and ruin Grogan's run at building a streak in his rookie year!
Mimic climbs into the ring and Ricken Prince appears at the ramp! Silvar goes after Mimic, not understanding what just happened, but having a history with the Mime From Hell himself.
Mimic's agility is too much and he hits spinning wheel kick that takes Silver out of the ring.
Grogan is up! He's clutching his neck, but is still able to deliver a punishing spine buster to Mimic.
Prince is in the ring and hits ROYAL DECREE! Grogan is done and clearly hurting. That neck took some punishment tonight...
Prince grabs a mic and tells the crowd that this is his Kingdom and the Mighty one hasn't earned passage into it yet...
Tantalis vs. Moonstrike Moonstrike defeated Tantalis with a Titan Drop at 11:03 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: That heat between these two teams is only building and beginning to reach that white hot level.
They jockeyed back and forth in the opening moments and then Tantalis showed off some offense even hitting a big power bomb and a slick looking dive to the outside.
But somehow Moonstrike came back in a big way and scored a near fall with a Titan Drop. He went for another pin attempt, but Parsec interfered!
Moonstrike was having none of it, though and knocked him off the apron! He then took the fight to Tantalis and didn't let up. Tantalis tried to get something going and it spilled outside and a wild brawl erupted with both men's partners fighting with each other, too!
Finally, Moonstrike got it back in and hit another big Titan Drop to score the 1, 2, 3!
Can Paladin Power knock off the undefeated tag champs? Or will Parsec and Tantalis prove that they are more powerful together than apart?
Caiman vs. Star Warrior Star Warrior defeated Caiman with a CETUS SLEEPER at 10:36 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: This was spirited athletic contest between two great competitors and arguable the young Star Warrior's best singles match so far!
Caiman came out strong, but they traded holds and Caiman got the advantage again scoring a near fall. It looked like he might run away with it, but Star Warrior bounced back and they went back and forth for a time.
Star Warrior was able to roll him up in multiple pinning combinations and even apply the CETUS SLEEPER, but Caiman got to the ropes.
They'd trade moves again, but once again Warrior came back in a big way and scored another near fall before going high risk with a plancha to the outside and a flying body press.
He worked a rolling scissors hold into a slick pinning combo for yet another near fall and couldn't believe it when Caiman got the shoulder up!
He synched in the CETUS SLEEPER immediately, though, and Caiman was out! Big win for Star Warrior and with the teams splitting singles victories, it's anybody's guess as to what the outcome will be when they meet in a number 1 contender's match for the tag team straps!
- Non-Title - Morpheus vs. K.O. Keller Morpheus defeated K.O. Keller with a TRIP TO HADES at 16:57 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: This was an unbelievable stiff and brutal contest!
Morpheus came out with a fury, but Keller cut him off early and they battled back and for the trading holds.
It didn't take long for it to become a good old fashioned brawl, though. They traded bombs and Morpheus scored early with TRIP TO HADES, but Keller got the shoulder up.
Action spilled out of the ring and they brawled around the inside area.
Keller took over and clobbered Morpheus hitting consecutive TEN COUNTS, but Morpheus was able to come back!
Action spilled outside and things got nasty. Morpheus was busted open after being slammed into the ring post, but he got vengeance by bloodying Keller with some stiff shots into the guardrail.
Both men were bloody messes as it went back inside and Morpheus snapped! He hit not one, not two, not three, but four TRIPS TO HADES before finally getting the 1, 2, 3!
Incredible story and match. Morpheus will get one more chance at the title! These two have already had a couple of classic contests and there's no denying that Morpheus has been having great matches since last November. Can he do it when it counts and become a two time champ?
Overall Card Rating: 3.83

Ouch! Things definitely went south for Mighty Grogan in a hurry... Interested to see how this program with Prince proceeds and what kind of role Mimic will play...
Morpheus wins big in his do-or-die moment... Can he build on this momentum or is he destined to choke once more?
Excellent stuff!
