GWF Classics #13: Takeover
10.07.2075 from Deimos, Mars
- GWF Takeover -
Dorado Sundown, the Tag Team champions and the once self-proclaimed, but now official, new sherrifs in town, are in the ring.
BLACKLASH: Well... We said it would happen. We told you from day one that we were here to take this place over and now... After puttin a lickin on your beloved Guardians, not once, but twice, we have fulfilled that promise!
BULLWHIP: The GWF is ours! And there ain't a damned thing anyone can do about it!
At this point, the Founding Fathers make their way to the ringside area. Security and officials pour out to try and maintain the situation.
BULLWHIP: Just try it fellas! I dare ya! But remember this, you come at us now... You're comin at the guys who run the joint!
Omega has asked for a mic.
OMEGA: We're not out here to give you the beating you so richly deserve... We're not out here to avenge our losses. We're here for one reason and one reason only...
MORPHEUS: And that's to remind you of something... Fellas. You see, Omega and I aren't just two of the best wrestlers in the galaxy... We're also two of the most acute minds in the business... And this is after all business.
Dorado Sundown seem anxious for the Guardians to get to the point. A bit of fear creeping in.
OMEGA: So you see Blacklash and Bullwhip... We made sure that we were covered by a rematch clause!
The fans pop for this, but considering the dire circumstances it's not the most enthusiastic pop you've ever heard.
BLACKLASH: Aw, gents... You didn't really think we weren't prepared for some shenanigans did ya? We know you got 90 days... 90 days... Well, you see, for the next 60 daysuntil those 90 are up we get to run the show. And at the end of those 60 days, you can have your rematch. But when you lose... As the new controllers of the GWF... We're taking this circus to a brand new home in Dorado! And then! There will not be a damned thing you two chumps can do about it! Because we'll ban you for LIFE!!!
MORPHEUS: You know... I think you're on to something, Blacklash... Let's put it all on the line! To close out 2075 a 2 out of 3 falls Federation Exile match!
The champs laugh off the challenge and actually shake their challengers hands! Omega pulls Blacklash close and speaks.
OMEGA: And when WE win... You will be gone and the GWF will stay... RIGHT... HERE!!
The fans go crazy, but Bullwhip lariats Morpheus and Blacklash blindsides Omega with one of the tag titles!
A HUGE brawl erupts! Security, officials, even Torin Caelum, KO Keller, and Commander Sam are out to attempt to break it up.
Finally things are under control and Blacklash grabs a mic.
BLACKLASH: You boys are on! The stakes have never been higher! And we're keeping it that way, because tonite, Omega! It's you and me for that Galaxian belt! And I call it a 2 out of 3 falls count anywhere match!
This bombshell shocks the crowd, but Omega readily accepts the challenge and the indominatable spirit of the champ is clear as he stares holes through Dorado Sundown.
Blood vs. Moonstrike
Moonstrike defeated Blood with a countout at 13:43
Match Rating: 3.25
Match Notes: These two men have had quite a rivalry in both tag and singles competition. There's been some bad blood and brawling along with some excellent in ring athletic contests.
Recently, Blood has made Moonstrike succumb to SCAR TISSUE. Once making him tap, another time causing the Titan to pass out.
This affair was hotly contested. The early going was back and forth and they brawled in and out of the ring. Blood turned things around when he hit a brainbuster on the announce table that didn't break!
Moonstrike somehow stayed alive, though. He even made it to the ropes on two seperate SCAR TISSUEs.
Moonstrike used his agility in two instanced to come back off the ropes, but Blood seemingly always had an answer.
That is until Moonstrike hit a beautiful Asai moonsault! It was a huge move that made the crowd go crazy.
To say this action was unexpected would be an understatement, but it was the beginning of the end for Blood. Moonstrike took it hardcore and hit the PALADIN DROP through the announce table!
Moonstrike was able to roll back in the ring, the high-risk maneuver taking its toll on him.
Meanwhile, Blood was unable to answer the count... Moonstrike wins by countout.
Here comes Jammer to check on his tag partner. He looks pissed. Moonstrike is leaning on the ropes.
They exchange some words, it looks very heated. Jammer is in the ring... Blood has risen to a knee.
Jammer starts pounding Moonstrike with fists and knee strikes! Moonstrike has already taken a beating and then risked his own well being to put Blood away!
Speaking of which, Blood is up! He slides into the ring. Weak, to say the least, but he locks in SCAR TISSUE again!
Moonstrike is bleeding profusely from the face!
Here comes Solar Flare! Officials are pouring out!
The new controllers are sitting in a box seat laughing at the action...
Blood releases the hold and Jammer helps him from the ring.
Moonstrike is motionless in a pool of blood...
This is one of the more gruesome and out of control acts we've seen in GWF's young history...
Dorado Sundown seems to encourage it, though.
We were informed later in the show, that doctors would need to reset Moonstrike's broken nose and jaw and put stitches in lacerations to his lip, eyebrow, and forehead... They recommend he take the next couple of cards off... Will he heed the advice? And what will become of this feud? It's in high gear now.
The Crosscurrents vs. The Mensans
Trotarus defeated Vortex with a MENSAN LOCK at 20:13
Match Rating: 4.25
Match Notes: Stemming from their DQ finish on the last card a rematch was signed.
These four went at it in an amazing match!
They jockeyed for position early on and all four men saw some action.
Eventually, the Cross Currents used their remarkable tag skill to isolate Cordsar and begin to wear him down. They completely cut off the ring and even hit WATERY GRAVE, but Cordsar showed some surprising tenacity to raise the shoulder.
Cordsar made the defensive tag and Trotarus came in and dominated for a bit.
This became the theme of the match. Cordsar would come in when things were looking good, the Cross Currents would take over for a bit, but then Trotarus would come in.
Cordsar did lay a beating on Vortex and nearly scored a pinfall.
Eventually, and even though he'd escaped one before, Trotarus made Thetis tap with the MENSAN LOCK for a hard fought victory in a tag classic.
They kept it clean and told a great story. Well deserved win and something to be proud about as opposed to the last bout. This is what the GWF is all about.
Santon the Loner vs. Commander Sam
Santon the Loner defeated Commander Sam with a SPIKE PILEDRIVER at 10:24
Match Rating: 3.25
Match Notes: These two men would have to be considered to be evenly matched.
They felt each other out early on, reversing holds. Santon got the better of the exchange, but Sam would come back with some punishing clotheslines.
It didn't last long. They continued to jockey for position, going back and forth. Neither man hitting anything hi-impact, but trying to slowly wear the other down.
It seemed to be a classic contest between to brawlers capable of wrestling a good match.
Sam would hit the first big move of the bout much to the crowd's delight!
But then Santon came back in a big way and hit repeated hi-impact moves! He almost put Sam away, but the Earth native came back and dished out some punishment of his own.
It spilled out of the ring and Sam slammed Santon on the make-shift announce table! He garnered a stern warning from the ref and it seemed that Sam took it to heart. He rolled Santon back in and tried to put him away.
After seeming frustrated when Santon came back from a cobra clutch, he sent Santon into the ropes. Santon hit a Shining Wizard out of no where!!!! 1...2... NO! Sam gets the shoulder up, but he's on dream-street.
Santon has him up... SPIKE PILEDRIVER!!! 1...2...3!
What a win for Santon! Both men are a little worse for wear. Sam is helped to his feet by the ref. Santon walks up his battered competitor... There's a moment that no one knows what to make of... Then Santon extends his hand.
Again, this is more of what we need to see on such a dark night in the GWF.
- Omega -
The Galaxian Champion is backstage and live!
OMEGA:Blacklash... I have promised to uphold the honor of this belt. I have promised to the fans to be a respectful competitor. I have taken an oath, sworn a code... But you... you and your partner... Have me close to breaking it all! Your antics from the very beginning have been a disgrace to everything Morpheus and I hoped to accomplish. And first it was the titles... Now it's control of the company... But there's something else. Something not many people know. There's this:
Footage of the brutal Dorado Death Match from War For Control is shown. A bloody Omega is piledriven on the concrete floor after Blacklash has pulled back the mats!
A limp Omega is rolled in. Bullwhip hits his finisher and the rest is history...
OMEGA: You can see people gasping, screaming, children crying... I HEARD NONE OF IT! You knocked me out! I came to and could barely move... I thought this was it... They're going to take the GWF and my career in one night... But I'm still standing. I've had a month to think about it. To dream about it. To agonize over the defeat and loss of the GWF. And now you want this!
He holds up the Galaxian title and the fans pop big.
OMEGA: I vow TONITE! To NOT let the happen! I vow it to you! To the competitors! To the GWF Committee! To the fans! Here and all around the galaxy! I will walk out STILL the GWF champ! And in 60 days Morpheus and I will take back the GWF!
Omega is on fire and the fans are swept up into the frenzy. The main event could blow the roof off the joint!
- Ricken's Request -
Backstage we see Ricken Prince talking with the new powers that be in the GWF, Dorado Sundown. Something about teaching Keller a lesson... Screw is mentioned. Blacklash laughs and shakes hands with Prince!
Mere moments later we go to the ring and it's announced that KO Keller will take on Screw!
Screw vs. K.O. Keller
K.O. Keller defeated Screw with a DQ at 22:35
Match Rating: 3.50
Match Notes: This match has more history than it's suspicious beginnings. Screw waffled Keller with a huge chairshot a few cards back, Commander Sam sought to stand up for his mentor somehow drawing the ire of Screw's dubious benefactor, Ricken Prince.
Keller taught Prince quite a lesson last card, and seemingly sore at him for doing so, has requested and been granted this bout.
The early going was back and forth, with Keller holding his own against the monster.
They would go back and forth, with both men taking quite a bit of punishment, but neither hitting finishers or finding themselves too worse for wear.
They combined their brawling and strikes with a mix of power moves and a few actual wrestling holds here and there, but they both took trips out side the ring. There was a good portion of the bout that took place outside and both men were nearly counted out.
At a later point, Keller actually snuck a chair shot in, gaining a measure of revenge, but Screw would come back.
After scoring a near fall on Keller, Ricken Prince made his way to ringside. It didn't take long for his impact to be felt!
As the ref warned Screw, Prince hit BOW TO THE PRINCE!!! Keller was hurting and this is just sick!
Screw put the boots to him for a while, but Keller came back! They battled back and forth, but Screw would get the advantage.
He scored another near fall after a press slam. At this point the psycho got crazy and after a giant swing the action spilled outside.
The finish was a mirror image when Screw laid Keller out with another chair shot.
The ref saw the whole thing and DQ'd the big man!
Keller was busted from ear to ear and Prince, like a shark came over to try and lay a beating on the downed Keller. However, Commander Sam made his way out with a chair of his own scaring Prince away and causing Screw to follow after his "partner".
Keller actually got to his feet by his own accord and he grabbed a mic.
KELLER: I've been a man of few words... Just the way I like it. But Prince, you've finally done it! You boys want to play that way, we're done playing. We want a tag team match inside a steel cage!
A bloody Keller dropped the mic and he and Sam left a fired up crowd in their wake.
Will Prince & Screw accept the challenge? Will Dorado Sundown have anything to say? When could this match take place?
Morpheus vs. Torin Caelum
Torin Caelum defeated Morpheus with a CAELUM'S GRIP at 28:04
Match Rating: 4.25
Match Notes: Dorado Sundown came to the ring before the match.
BULLWHIP: Ya see, this is the kinda show you can expect from Dorado Sundown! When we're running the show... You can count on it being wild and unpredicatble! And that don't mean there won't be wrestling... Hell, we out-wrestled your beloved Guardians... TWICE!
BLACKLASH: So next up, we want ya'll to take particular note of these two competitors... Cause one of 'em might not be around much longer. And Morpheus... You chump... Omega's carried you since day one! So tonite, you face the man Omega took the strap off of... And if you don't win... You're banned from ever getting a title shot as long as we're in charge!
Morpheus makes his way out and he is hot! He wipes his feet on the ring apron before getting in. He stares down Dorado Sundown as they mock him before getting out of the ring.
Caelum made his way out looking business as usual. The fans had nothing but respect for the man from Sagitta. He's one of the fiercest competitors in the GWF and has rarely been dealt a loss at the exception of his championship encounters with Omega and a recent #1 Contender match against Screw.
The last time these two met, Morpheus was DQd for refusing to bring the action back to the ring. That was during the tournament for the first GWF champion. A tournament Torin Caelum went on to win, defeating KO Keller in the finals. To say Morpheus doesn't have some heat with Caelum and is already in a volatile mood would be an understatement...
They got off to a hot start. Morpheus had the advantage, but Caelum ducked a huge lariat and applied his death lock! Morpheus was in pain and Caelum somehow transitioned it into CAELUM'S GRIP! The man is a wrestling virtuoso! Morpheus wouldn't tap, though!
Caelum worked the hold, but Morpheus made it to the ropes. Irish whip, but Morpheus hits a spinebuster out of nowhere! 1... NO! Shoulder up.
The action would spill out of the ring and a wild brawl would erupt! Caelum gave as good as he was getting from Morpheus, but the GWF co-founder whipped Caelum hard into the steel guardrail and put him in a bear hug and rammed him into the rail again!
Back inside, though, Caelum would rally back. It was back and forth with Morpheus usually getting the better of the exchanges. He built up a head of steam and utilized punishing holds and hi impact moves to lead to a TRIP TO HADES, but Caelum kicked out!
Morpheus was clearly frustrated. He did something he rarely does and mounted the turnbuckle, but Caelum was up!
They battled on the top. Repeated elbows gave Caelum the advantage... A ring shaking superplex! Both men are down, but the Sagitta Strangler rallies!
Still, Morpheus would come back with a stiff lariat. Both men are looking winded.
Morpheus would battle back and punish Torin big time. He was busted open after a Satanic Skull Smasher, but then... As Morpheus tried to wear him down, blood streaming down his face, Torin Caelum came back to life! Enraged Caelum came back, but Morpheus was having none of it!
They battled back and forth, the crimson masked Caelum refusing to submit or be pinned! He would regain control but the finish saw Morpheus avoide a moonsault and then hit a string of big moves including Natural Disaster and the Satantic Skull Smasher. It looked like it was all over, but Morpheus would go high risk again... Torin Caelum with a burst of energy ran up and yanked him off with a super arm drag! He practically tore his arm out of his socket! The fans sense it! The Sagitta Strangler locks in CAELUM'S GRIP!!! Morpheus has to tap, the pain is excruciating. The ref calls for the bell and Torin Caelum scored a big win.
Morpheus is holding his right arm and shoulder. He hears the time on the match and knows it was under 2 minutes until the time limit.
A bloody Torin Caelum stands with his hand raised.
He looked over to Morpheus and extended his hand.
Dorado Sundown are on the ring apron shouting at Morpheus to clothesline him! Omega is out and urges his partner to shake...
Morpheus extends hit left and as Caelum goes to grab it, Morpheus pushes it out of his way and walks off...
Omega doesn't look pleased, but shakes Caelum's head in his partner's stead.
- 2/3 Falls Count Anywhere -
Blacklash vs. Omega
for the Galaxian Championship
Blacklash defeated Omega with a tombstone at 10:58
Omega defeated Blacklash with a TOMAHAWK THRUST at 21:22
Omega defeated Blacklash with a piledriver through a table at 42:09
Match Rating: 4.50
Match Notes: This match started immediately after the last bout.
Omega worked an armlock early and tried to wear Blacklash down.
Blacklash would come back, though, stunning the champ with a tombstone after a belly to belly attempt.
Blacklash would go for a cover after flying axehandle, but Omega rallied back and punished the challenger by stretching him six ways from Sunday with the Indian Death Lock.
Omega later would mount the top, but Blacklash challenged him for control... Omega pushed him off though! He misses the flying splash... Dorado Power Drop!
1...2...3!!! Blacklash takes the first fall from no where!
Omega rallied back big, though and scored a near fall by rolling an abdominal stretch into a pinning combo.
The action then spilled out of the ring! Remember, it's falls count anywhere!
It was an all out brawl! They fought all over the arena. Blacklash slammed Omega into the souvenir stand and then head first into the steel ring post not once, but twice! Omega was split wide open! He fought fire with fire, though and ended up busting Blacklash open and evening the odds after hitting him with a camera!!
Omega brutalized Blacklash at this point fighting into the crowd and near the backstage area. The made their way to the aisle and Blacklash was out on his feet, he stumbled right into a TOMAHAWK THRUST and Omega pinned him right their on the entry ramp for the 1...2...3! We're even up at one fall a piece!
Both men battered and bloody. Omega crawled into the ring and yelled at Blacklash to face him inside! Blacklash came in and Omega tore him apart!
He hit another TOMAHAWK THRUST, but SOMEHOW Blacklash kicked out! He's practically unconcious and bleeding, but instinct and will allowed him to kick out!
Omega would continue to pick him apart. He blasted him with a flying chop from the top rope and then a pair of leg drops. Blacklash would roll out, though.
They brawled all over the ring side area, blood and sweat staining the mats... They ended up near the announce table and Omega went for a piledriver... Blacklash back body drops him on the table! It doesn't break! Blacklash is on the table with Omega. They're exchanging blows... Omega with a piledriver through the table!!!! He makes a cover. Blacklash is out. 1...2...3! Omega retains. Medical personal are out! Here come each man's partner. Omega is up and he slides into the ring. Morpheus stays on the outside and Bullwhip tries to get his fallen partner to come to.
The ref raises Omega's hand and the bloody champion raises the belt high as we come to a close.
Overall Card Rating: 3.83
