DSCW HOLDS FIRST CARD
[Note: Deep Space Championship Wrestling is a new federation, beginning its operations in December of 2112. Its wrestling roster is currently made up of characters developed for Kevin Knipe’s Krazy Kards and Kevin Wible’s North Star Wrestling Alliance. Over time I will also bring in a few bootlegs and perhaps a few former GWF characters. For now, I am using the earliest versions of the cards for the characters mentioned, all of them coming from the first two card sets for Krazy Kards and for the NSWA, with some minimal adjustments to make the cards conform to Filsinger Games card development rules. Over time I may adjust the cards further to make them more compatible with the GWF Universe.)
The new Deep Space Championship Wrestling organization held its first ever card on December 6, 2112 at the Milky Way Cathedral of Polaris. The new federation, which is based on Polaris and will restrict its promotion to the general area of the Galaxy near its home offices, announced that it will present three cards in 2112 and will begin tournaments to crown the first DSCW champions in early 2113.
The evening of December 6 began with a major surprise. “Trainer” Jim Powell, the interim commissioner of DSCW, entered the ring to address the sellout crowd at the Milky Way Cathedral.
“We’re very excited to have all of you here with us tonight,” Powell began. “We have a lot of great action planned. Some of our stars will be new to you, while others will have more familiar faces. We have a few more new men under contract to join us in January. We’re going to have a lot of fun, and I think we’ll be able to give all of you a few surprises.”
As Powell spoke, a cloaked figure climbed out of the crowd and into the ring. Security guards moved to intercept the intruder, but with a quiet word the cloaked individual stopped them in their tracks. As he climbed through the ropes, he also picked up a microphone.
“There may be surprises for everyone,” the cloaked figure said. “Hello, Jim, my old friend.”
“You!” Commissioner Powell gasped. “What are you doing here? We heard you were dead! We had word from Dimension X.”
“Dead? Not hardly,” the cloaked man sneered, his voice hauntingly familiar to GWF fans. “Just taking a break in Dimension X, since I was unfairly banned from the GWF a few years ago. But your little federation here seems like a good place to make my comeback.”
“No!” Powell snapped. “There’s no place for you here. I’ll have you thrown out of you don’t leave now.”
“I doubt it,” the intruder chuckled. “You have no idea what I'm capable of. But I’ll go back to my seat and watch the action—for tonight. Soon, though, when I’ve made a review of your talent here, I’ll decide how best to involve myself.”
As he left the ring, the cloaked man turned and faced a camera, revealing to all the galaxy a face that had not been seen in a wrestling ring since 2106: Mesmer, the Master of the Black Arts, had returned to professional wrestling.
Primal Fear defeated Manta and Big Bubba Butcha
Time: 3:06
In the opening match on the first DSCW card, the tag team of Primal Fear (Cutthroat and the Beast) downed Manta and Big Bubba Butcha as Bubba went down to the “Exploder.” The sadistic duo from parts unknown just had too much experience for their somewhat mismatched opponents.
Baron Michael Strauss defeated The Mook
Time: 0:28
The talented Baron took no time in catching The Mook in the “Strauss Trap.” The Mook, who is in reality more a manager than a wrestler, put up no fight at all.
Behemyth defeated Zachary Storm
Time: 4:25
Storm, a well known and long-time wrestler in smaller promotions, put up a surprisingly good fight against his massive foe. At 7’5” and 365 pounds, Behemyth dwarfed his smaller opponent and finally pinned him with a reverse choke slam.
Keth Vale defeated Collin Redfeather
Time: 1:32
Having spent most of 2112 in the GWF, Vale was in prime form and dominated Redfeather in this contest, finally winning it with a “Redemption.”
Elven Glory defeated Vicious and Delicious by DQ
Time: 3:46
The huge Elven team from Atlantis (Thalian Nyzea and Vonrael Nyzea, both of whom stand around 6’10”) had a good fight going with Vicious and Delicious (Tobias “Mr. Vain” Richards and Eddie Dio) until Mr. Vain was disqualified in a melee on the arena floor.
Mike “Tank” Abrams defeated Sho Jyn-Roh
Time: 5:15
The huge Titan, another recent GWF competitor, had a tough time with his smaller opponent. Jyn-Roh took everything Abrams had and fought back until the larger man landed a flying shoulder block and pinned him for the win.
Ka’shii defeated Stone Mountain
Time: 1:48
Like Vale and Abrams, Stone Mountain left the GWF at the end of the War Games in order to join DSCW. However, the huge earthling appeared overmatched against the Animan-like Lycan star, who had recently crossed through the portal from his homeland in Dimension X to enter the new federation. Ka’shii won the contest with a “Feline Fatality.”
M & M defeated Adrenalynne
Time: 5:36
The final two recent GWF competitors, M & M (Brock Mason and Dillion Mason) overcame a good challenge from Adrenalynne (Sean “Surge” Williams and Michael “Rush” Collins). The match was a back and forth affair until Collins finally went down to the “Big Crush.”
Ciber Naught over Apache Steve Sampson by DQ
Time: 4:29
In the main event for the first DSCW card, the two competitors traded the advantage for several minutes before the fight spilled out onto the floor. At that point Sampson lost his composure and hit his blue-skinned opponent with a chair, causing the disqualification.
After the card, Interim Commissioner Powell spoke to the media. “I think we delivered on what we promised,” he said. “We had some excellent matches and a lot of great action. We’re going to keep getting better, and we’ll have a lot of fun here.
“As for Mesmer,” Powell continued, “that needs some thought. I did not expect him here, and I do not know what he is planning. We all know that he's a dangerous and corrupting influence on this sport. I’ll talk to our board of directors before making any comment on how we will respond to his presence.”
