PRODIGY INJURED AS WAR GAMES BEGINProdigy will miss as much as three weeks of action after suffering a brutal attack by his former Team Thantos teammates at the War Games Singles Tournament on May 15 at Ganymede Stadium. The incident took place after a tournament match between Prodigy and Euritar, who had replaced Prodigy on Team Thantos this year. Euritar got the win to advance in the tournament, but after the bell he was joined by Terminus, Thantos, and Desolation Factor in beating down the fallen cruiserweight. After several ugly minutes, Prodigy’s new manager Reynard B. Guile led the Ninja Assassins and Pegasus to the ring to break things up, but by then Prodigy had suffered a concussion and severe injuries to his back and neck. Commissioner Morpheus took immediate action regarding the attack. Not only did he suspend all of the assailants, including Thantos, for three weeks, but he removed Terminus and Euritar from the War Games Singles Tournament and Desolation Factor from the War Games Tag Team Tournament. Bloodline remained as the only active member of the team for the Games’ first three weeks. The tournaments went very well for the Colonizers of Scorpi, as Wraith emerged as the surprise winner of the singles tournament and first War Games Singles Champion for 2111, while Rebel Empire took the tag team honors. The most interesting match of the tournaments took place early on the singles card when Lance At-Las met Spike. Two minutes into the match, as the two men were brawling out on the arena floor, Lance cracked a chair over Spike’s head. Spike reeled backward for a moment, but as he regained his senses he smiled and said something to Lance. At-Las nodded agreement, and both competitors sent their managers, Lord Nexus and Amazonia, away from ringside. As the managers pulled up chairs to watch from the announce table, Spike and Lance engaged in a terrific brawl that ended when At-Las got the pin with a “World Beater.” Despite the loss, Spike shook Lance’s hand and smiled again after the bell. “I don’t never like to lose,” Spike explained afterward, “but when he hit me with that chair, I knew he was up for a real fight today, so I told him we should just keep it between us and let the best man win. It was a chance for an old-style fight, without worrying about anybody running in and interfering. Lance is old school when he wants to be. We’ve had great fights in the past. We’re both coming to the end now, so this was a chance for one more good one. I couldn’t pass that up, no matter who won.” SAM’S COMMANDOS REGAIN IP TAG BELTSSam’s Commandos took back the Interplanetary Tag Team Titles that they lost in late 2110 by defeating Cygnus Strikeforce at the Los Angeles Sports Arena on June 2. The title match was a good contest, but the Commandos held control for most of the way. The Canadian Bomber finally scored the pin on his one-time partner U. S. Traitor with a “Bombing Run” at the 5:53 mark. The Commandos captured the IP tag belts for the third time. They have also held the GWF tag team titles three times. Cygnus Strikeforce’s title reign lasted for just under one month. DEEP SPACE SHOWCASE 2111 The Deep Space Showcase originated in 2096 and is the GWF’s only traveling supercard. The Showcase is held in a different location each year as a means of bringing a major card to some of the galaxy’s smaller arenas. The 2111 event was presented on June 16 at the Mira Ceti War Memorial before a crowd of over 43,000 fans.
The Card: Shandor Street Fight: Splatter over Blade Time: 4:11 Splatter used Arsenal in the aisle to get the pin.
Lepus Stun Rod Match: Skinhead over Overtime Time: 0:28 Rookie mistake: Don’t trust Skinhead, who used the brass knuckles to knock out the Titan newcomer almost immediately after the bell sounded.
Cosmic Cage Match: Tocsin over Trench Time: 7:04 This one was all Tocsin, who took his time getting the win.
Cygnus Strikeforce over Transformer Time: 2:03 Nth Degree went down to a “Cygnus Strikeforce” finisher.
Titan Hardcore Match: Paragon over Warfare Time: 1:06 Easy win for Paragon
Total Anarchy Match: Anarchy over the Draconian Sheik Time: 5:50 A very bloody and brutal match that ended when the Sheik stepped on a mine.
Six Man Elimination Tag Match: Archon and Sam’s Commandos over Twin Blood and Vyper Time: 16:09 Captain Dalcost ended up getting the pins on Dreggs, Vyper, and Sleeze in that order. Both Archon and Dreggs were injured in the match.
Cruiserweight Championship Match: Euritar (c) over Enigma Time: 2:21 Euritar retained the belt with a pin after an elbow slam.
Falls Count Anywhere Match: Bloodline over Lance At-Las Time: 4:41 In a good all-around match, Bloodline got the pin in the ring after hitting a deathjump.
War Games Singles Title Match: Terminus (c) over Code Enforcer Manslaughter Time: 1:49 Terminus retained his belt with back-to-back Hammerlock Slams.
War Games Tag Team Title Match: Desolation Factor over the Ninja Assassins (c) Time: 4:29 Daemon went down to a “Racked and Ruined” to give Desolation Factor the belts.
Castor Chain Match: Dark Justice over Pegasus Time: 2:53 Dark Justice won this match between long-time rivals with a “Shock Probation.”
Scorpi King of the Ring Match: Mandrill over Painmaster Time: 5:36 Total Domination by Mandrill
Interplanetary Title Match: Rising Sun over Thunder (c) by disqualification Time: 6:27 This was an excellent match from both fighters, but Brute interfered to keep the title from changing hands when Rising Sun appeared to have Thunder beaten.
Eight Man Elimination Tag Team Match: The Ramparts of Centra over The Gladiators of Aethra Time: 19:38 Order of elimination was as follows: Vengeance by Max Shield, Mayhem by Aegis, Ventross by Malice, Overkill by Shield, Shield by Malice, Malice by Aegis. Aegis and Rankor survived for the win.
GWF Tag Team Title Match: Rebel Empire over TitanAttack (c) Time: 6:21 Vendetta was beaten down horribly by the Titans for five minutes without getting the tag, but he refused to be pinned. Finally Nefarus tagged in and was also pounded at first, but he caught Ursa Major with a “Scissordriver” out of nowhere to score the surprise pin. Rebel Empire thus became tag team champions for the third time, ending the Titans’ terrific reign of nearly ten months and twenty-five defenses, the highest total of successful defenses by a tag team champion in the GWF since 2098 and tied for the third highest total ever. It is also the highest total of successful defenses for any team other than Brute and Massacre, who held the top three previous totals of 47, 30, and 25.
Galaxian Heavyweight Title Match: Genocide (c) over Wolf by disqualification Time: 4:21 Wolf survived a “Corpus Genocide” and had the champion caught in the “Savage Face Claw,” but Doomsayer’s distraction saved Genocide’s title. The match then spilled out to the floor, where Wolf went berserk and was disqualified. The two wrestlers continued to brawl all over the arena after the bell.

KRAKAN GETS HIS REVENGE: FORTUNE TAKES GALAXIAN TITLE FROM GENOCIDE On June 20, just a few days after the Deep Space Showcase event, a major card at the Warrior Village Coliseum of Aethra saw Krakan’s Deadly Militia take titles away from two of Krakan’s primary targets, including Galaxian Heavyweight Champion Genocide.
Genocide had been the centerpiece of the Deadly Milita in 2110, but at the beginning of 2111 he turned away from Krakan due to Doomsayer’s promise to separate his Genocide and Buck Steele personalities. An incensed Krakan has repeatedly sent Mike Fortune and Dark Justice after the monster to make him pay for his betrayal. Several weeks ago Fortune won a non-title match against Genocide, thus earning the championship opportunity that was granted on the Aethra card.
Fortune started the match well, but he seemed unable to do real damage to the monsterous champion. Genocide then took over, landing a series of hammering blows on Fortune over the next few minutes. However, the challenger regained the advantage when Genocide missed while trying to splash him against the turnbuckle, rolling his opponent up for a pin attempt. Genocide kicked out and rose to his feet, but then Fortune stunned the crowd by grabbing “The Hangman” on the dazed champion. Despite Genocide’s huge size advantage, Fortune used his leverage to bend his opponent awkwardly backward and held on until Genocide had no choice but to submit.
Fortune’s victory gave him his first title of any kind in the GWF. After the match, Krakan seemed to crow even louder than the new champion.
“We showed that big freak this time,” the head hitman said. “No one walks out on Krakan. We took Genocide’s title, and we’ll take Mayhem out soon too. Now my team holds the gold again, and we’re back in the War Games.”
Earlier on the same card, another of Krakan’s men pulled off an upset victory as Warfare downed long-time Deadly Militia target Wolf in a Scorpi King of the Ring Match to take the Special Matches Title.
Warfare started the match strong, hammering Wolf for several minutes and building up an advantage, but the champion roared back with a rally of his own. After a few minutes both wrestlers appeared to be on their last legs when suddenly Warfare snapped off four “Big Paybacks” in a row, leaving Wolf all but unconscious. From that point, Krakan’s newest recruit had no problem throwing his opponent out of the ring to claim his first title belt in the GWF.
Also on the Aethra card, a rematch of Rising Sun’s DQ win over Interplanetary Champion Thunder at the Deep Space Showcase saw the referee disqualify both men during an out of control brawl.
RISING SUN BREAKS THROUGH After several frustrating attempts, Rising Sun finally managed to take the Interplanetary Title from Thunder on a card at the Capella Star Gardens on June 24.
The challenger dominated the match from the opening bell. Thunder never really mounted any real offense and had to kick out of the “Super Dragon Drop” three times in the first three minutes. Shortly thereafter Rising Sun hit the “Sunset Spectacular” on the Gladiator to score the win.
Rising Sun, who has been a tag team and cruiserweight champion many times, claimed his first interplanetary title with the victory. Thunder’s first major singles title reign ended after six defenses.
FDF TAKES EARLY WAR GAMES LEAD The Federation Defense Fighters have taken a slim early lead in the 2111 GWF War Games. The FDF has surged ahead on recent cards to catch the early leaders, the Colonizers of Scorpi and the Fighting Titans. On the other end of the spectrum, the Gladiators and W. A. R., perhaps too preoccupied with each other, are tied for last place.
Complete War Games Standings as of July 4 are as follows: 1. Federation Defense Fighters (57 points) 2. The Fighting Titans (56 points) 3. Colonizers of Scorpi (52 points) 4. Team Thantos (48 points) 5. Ramparts of Centra (39 points) 6. Entropy (34 points) 7. Guile’s Payback (30 points) 8. Krakan’s Deadly Militia (27 points) 9T. Gladiators of Aethra (23 points) 9T. W. A. R. (23 points)
GWF NOTES Lance At-Las, who considered retirement because of his lack of success in late 2110, has been outstanding this year, even holding a non-title win over former Interplanetary Champion Thunder . . . Many were skeptical when W.A.R. added Vyper to challenge Vengeance this year, but Vyper has completely dominated the Gladiator leader in all of their matches . . . Terminus has been very hot of late . . . Disorder X continues to struggle and appears to be on the verge of a breakup.

FORTUNE’S TITLE REIGN IS SHORT-LIVED Mike Fortune’s surprising reign as GWF Heavyweight Champion came to an end on August 1 as he was defeated for the belt by Mandrill at the Titan Sportatorium.
The Invincible Krakan did everything possible to help his wrestler hold on to the title, but his efforts were finally in vain. Mandrill started the match strong and battered Fortune for two minutes, weakening him twice with the Voltaic Stunner, before hitting the Colonizer Claw Slam and going for the pin. Krakan immediately waved in Dark Justice and Warfare in an attempt to get Fortune disqualified, but Mandrill had Rebel Empire ready to appear and fight off the interference. The Prime Colonizer was knocked down in the scuffle, but he kicked out of Fortune’s pin attempt and the referee allowed the match to continue. Mandrill quickly recovered and again took the champion down a minute later, but this time Krakan was able to distract the referee and give his wrestler time to kick out. Fortune then battled back desperately, but he was unable to maintain an advantage over his opponent. Mandrill finally hit his “Mutant Mauler” to score the pin. The victory gives Mandrill his sixth GWF Heavyweight Title but his first since his impressive nine-month reign from October 2107 to August 2108. Fortune’s brief reign lasted for slightly over one month but included just one successful defense due to an injury to Fortune and to Krakan’s unwillingness to put the belt on the line.
Mandrill’s win also vaulted the Colonizer team back into the War Games lead, but the news was not all good for the Scorpi group. On the same card, after Lance At-Las had defeated Wraith, a brawl broke out between the Titans and the Colonizers in which Wraith suffered very serious knee damage. The initial prognoses indicated that Wraith would miss at least two to three months and perhaps the remainder of 2111. Also on the same card, Malice and Overkill claimed the Interplanetary Tag Team Titles with a win over Sam’s Commandos. The Commandos had held the belts for six successful defenses over two months, but they lost their titles when the Canadian Bomber went down to an “Unstoppable Force.”
THUNDER REGAINS IP TITLE Thunder won the Interplanetary Championship for the second time in 2111 by defeating Rising Sun at the Vega Palladium on July 27. Rising Sun came at Thunder with guns blazing from the opening bell. The champion nearly ended the match in its first minute with a Sunset Spectacular, followed by a series of other near falls. However, Thunder fought back, and just after the three minute mark he took Rising Sun off his feet. A “Tempest” then caught the dazed champion full force, and Thunder got the rollup for the win. Rising Sun’s first IP title reign lasted for just over one month. Thunder, who had lost the title to the Titan star, begins his second major singles title reign after holding the GWF Tag Team Belts with Overkill nine times.

SAM’S COMMANDOS TOP REBEL EMPIRE FOR GWF TAG BELTS Just two weeks after losing the Interplanetary Tag Team Titles to Malice and Overkill, Sam’s Commandos bounced back to claim the GWF Tag Belts from Rebel Empire at the Ceres Amphitheater on August 10. The match on Ceres was stunningly brief. Normally Captain Dalcost starts matches for the Commandos, but this time the Canadian Bomber began the contest against Nefarus. At the one minute mark the Bomber knocked Nefarus down for a quick cover, and after he kicked out the challengers immediately went for their “Military Force” finisher. To the surprise of everyone in the arena, Vendetta was not able to make a save, and Nefarus failed to kick out a second time. In less than two minutes, the Commandos had ended Rebel Empire’s two month title reign. Sam’s Commandos claimed the tag team belts for the fourth time in less than three years. The duo has already announced that they will leave the GWF at the end of 2111.
SURPRISING NEW ENTRIES AS WAR GAMES ROSTERS CHANGE As teams prepared for the second half of the War Games, four groups announced roster changes on August 12, one week before the Starclash Supercard. First came the Colonizers, who declared that the injured Wraith would be removed from the team and replaced by Tortured Soul, whose Brymstone Burning teammates have already joined the Colonizers for the War Games. When asked if the dismissal of Wraith from the team was temporary or permanent, Mandrill replied, “I’ll decide that at the end of the year. He hasn’t done much for us. I’m not sure we want him back anyway.” Next up was Doomsayer’s Entropy group, who added Taechon to the roster. Doomsayer announced that Taechon would leave the GWWF and compete exclusively in men’s matches until further notice. The real surprises came with the last two moves. Krakan announced that the Deadly Militia would bring in a new wrestler, Assassin X. “Our new man is from Alaara,” Krakan said. “He’s a great offensive wrestler. In short form, he’s what Splatter was for me when Splatter was useful. And he’s about as unstable as Splatter, too. Everyone had better be ready.” Finally, Reynard B. Guild named a replacement for Paragon, who had abandoned the team to move to the USWF for the remainder of 2111. The new member of Guile’s Payback is Necros, the former Royal Court star who last competed in the GWF sixteen years ago in 2095. “Necros is in great shape,” Guile stated. "He’s been wanting to come back, and we can use his help. This will work out for everyone." Commissioner Morpheus followed these announcements by declaring War Games rosters to be frozen for the remainder of the 2111 competition.
STARCLASH XXV PREVIEW The twenty-fifth annual Starclash Supercard will be held at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena on August 19, 2111. Matches already announced are as follows:
Galaxian Heavyweight Champion Mandrill defends against Archon, who currently has a ten match winning streak. GWF Tag Team Champions Sam's Commandos defend against the Ninja Assassins. Interplanetary Champion Thunder defends against former champion Rising Sun. Cruiserweight Champion Euritar defends against Enigma. Mayhem and Painmaster square off for the Special Matches Title, which was recently vacated due to a serious injury to the previous champion, Warfare

STARCLASH XXV The GWF held its twenty-fifth annual Starclash spectacular at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena on August 19, 2111. Starclash is the longest running and most prestigious of the GWF supercards. The event is traditionally a showcase for tributes to major GWF personalities and dramatic announcements as well as exciting wrestling matches.
SURPRISE GUEST AT MORPHEUS PRESS CONFERENCE GWF Commissioner Morpheus called a press conference on the morning of the Starclash supercard. The commissioner appeared alone on stage in the Deimos Media Center to address the press corps. “First, I have an announcement,” Morpheus began. “The GWF executive committee has determined that the Interplanetary Tag Team Titles are no longer serving a positive purpose in the federation. Therefore, we are going to discontinue the IP tag belts. Because a defense of any championship counts for extra War Games points, we will keep the belts active until the end of this year’s War Games in order not to penalize current the title holders, the Gladiators. At the end of the War Games, however, these belts will no longer be contested. “I also called this press conference to give an update on our situation with the UFSP,” the commissioner continued. “As you know, we have had several cards canceled recently. Things look bleaker than ever. I wish that I could assure everyone that we will win this fight, but making such a promise would be unrealistic in the light of Cordanus’ recent successes in closing down our cards and those in the USWF. All I can say is that Omega continues to work with Magnus Colby’s legal team to fight against these outrageous bans and cancellations, and we will continue to fight as long as we can keep our doors open.” “That won’t be much longer,” said a voice from the stage wings. Unexpectedly, UFSP Cordanus walked out onto the stage. “What are you doing here?” barked Morpheus. “Coming to gloat, I suppose?” “More than that,” Cordanus replied. “I’m here to tell you that things will be getting worse. I’ve decided to take a more direct hand in our efforts to close down your barbaric business. In the past, I have had my assistants make calls to your various venues in order to get them to see reason. Now I am going to do it in person. I will be traveling to your events and speaking with the representatives of your arenas and local governments myself to convince them not to host your product. And when I can’t get your cards canceled, I will be in the arenas to see first-hand examples of the barbarity of this so-called sport—examples that I will use against you later. So get ready, because I intend to make 2111 the last year of the GWF.” Cordanus’ announcement stunned the commissioner and the press corps. The UFSP President appeared more determined than ever to make the twenty-fifth Starclash the final one, and his recent track record seemed to indicate that he was coming closer to achieving that goal.
GALACTICADE XXV: THE CARD
Opening Match: Necros over Overtime Time: 3:09 The rookie put up a good fight, but Necros, in his first GWF singles match in sixteen years, won it with his “Shadow Boxing.”
Titan Hardcore Tag Team Match: The Ravagers over Transrevolver Time: 1:49 “Ravager Sack” on Nth Degree. Monad never even managed to tag in.
Lepus Stun Rod Match: Blade over Prodigy Time: 2:12 Upset here as Prodigy went down to the “Blade of Retribution” after missing a deathjump.
Barbed Wire Cage Match: Mace over Code Enforcer Manslaughter Time: 3:00 Mace with a W.A.R. Gun for the win.
Six-Man Elimination Tag Match: Mike Fortune, Dark Justice, and Assassin X over Genocide, Draconian Sheik, and Taechon. Time: 12:04 Falls went as follows: Fortune over Genocide, Dark Justice over Sheik, Fortune over Taechon.
Total Anarchy Match for Special Matches Title: Painmaster over Mayhem Time: 2:44 Painmaster and Mayhem were designated as the top contenders when previous champion Warfare was forced to vacate the title due to an injury. Painmaster won the title with a power bomb in the dressing room.
War Games Tag Team Title Match: TitanAttack over Cygnus Strikeforce (c) by countout. Time: 7:53 U. S. Traitor got counted out and saved the belts for his team with a loss.
Cruiserweight Title Match: Euritar (c) over Enigma Time: 0:46 Euritar scored an almost immediate “Heads Will Roll” for the win.
Scorpi King of the Ring Match: Pegasus over Terminus Time: 9:05 Pegasus wanted revenge on the man who injured him and forced him to vacate the Galaxian Heavyweight title in late 2110, a belt he had held for over a year at the time. This was a brutal match that ended with an incredible flurry of “Project Pegasus” finishers. Terminus is expected to miss as much as a month of action with his injuries.
Interplanetary Tag Team Title Match: Desolation Factor over Malice and Overkill (c). Time: 2:25 Gladiators started strong, but Rack kicked out of an “Unstoppable Force” and the challengers came back with a “Racked and Ruined” to claim the belts.
Castor Chain Match: Bloodline over Corporal Aegis Time: 3:03 Bloodline was dominant and used the Cetus Masterlock for the win.
Interplanetary Title Match: Rising Sun over Thunder (c) by disqualification. Time: 1:35 Rising Sun had Thunder beaten with a terrific flurry when Brute stormed the ring and attacked him to save the title for Thunder. Rising Sun was injured and will miss at least three weeks. Brute was suspended for three weeks.
Four Weapons of Destruction Match: Max Shield over Vengeance Time: 2:47 Shield’s most dominant performance of the year so far.
Eight-Man Battlezone Match: Nefarus and Brymstone Burning over Spike, Wolf, Dreggs, and Vyper. Time: 18:58 Falls went as follows: Nefarus over Spike; Wolf over Nefarus, Anarchy, and Tortured Soul; Blazing Skull over Wolf, Dreggs, and Vyper. Dreggs had Skull badly hurt, but neither he nor Vyper could put him away.
GWF Tag Team Title Match: Sam’s Commandos (c) over the Ninja Assassins Time: 3:32 The Canadian Bomber pinned Daemon with an “Oh Canada.”
Galaxian Heavyweight Title Match: Archon over Mandrill (c) Time: 3:40 In a stunning upset, Archon wins the first singles title of his career. The match went back and forth, with both competitors getting near falls. Finally, as Archon again knocked the champion down and went for a pin, Rouser entered the ring and tried to interfere. Archon knocked the heads of Mandrill and Rouser together and covered the champion for the win.
“This is a great moment for me,” Archon said after the match, his eleventh straight victory. “I came into this federation as a tag team wrestler, and for a long time that’s what I was seen as. Then I got caught up in feuds against Anarchy and Skull for so long that I lost my focus. Commander Sam has really helped me get straightened out, and this title proves that I am on track now.”
FDF OPENS UP WAR GAMES LEAD The FDF has moved out in front in the 2111 GWF War Games, thanks in large part to the success of Galaxian Heavyweight Champion Archon and GWF Tag Team Champions Sam’s Commandos. The FDF has a fourteen point lead as of August 23, an advantage that is by no means insurmountable but is the largest of the Games so far. Teams two through five remained very closely packed together in the standings, while Guile’s Payback group is making an impressive attempt to join that close competition.
Complete War Games standings as of August 23 are as follows:
1. Federation Defense Fighters (97 points) 2. Colonizers of Scorpi (83 points) 3T. The Fighting Titans (77 points) 3T. Ramparts of Centra (77 points) 5. Team Thantos (75 points) 6. Guile’s Payback (68 points) 7. Gladiators of Aethra (59 points) 8. Krakan’s Deadly Militia (58 points) 9. Entropy (50 points) 10. W. A. R. (41 points)

PEGASUS REGAINS GALAXIAN TITLE Pegasus surprised his critics on September 7 by winning the Galaxian Heavyweight title for the sixth time in his career by defeating Archon at Polaris Interstellar Stadium. Most observers felt that Pegasus was a step slower and not quite as strong after the serious injury he suffered in September 2110. Though he had taken to calling himself “The Great One” in early 2111 and had performed well throughout the year, Pegasus had difficulty reentering the Galaxian Title Rankings. However, he continued to fight for a title shot, claiming—with justification—that he had never lost his title in the ring. Instead, he was forced to abandon the title he had held for over a year and for an incredible fourty-two successful defenses due to an injury inflicted on him by Terminus and Team Thantos on September 29, 2110.
When he finally received a match with the new champion Archon on August 23, Pegasus controlled most of the contest but was disqualified after ten tough minutes. Due to his strong performance, the “Great One” was granted another non-title match on September 4. This time there was no disqualification, and Pegasus pinned the champion cleanly with a “Project Pegasus.” While the non-title win did earn Pegasus a title shot, Archon would have been within his rights under GWF bylaws to delay the match for some time. However, in characteristic fashion, the champion stated that Pegasus had earned the match and that he would have it on the next card. “He beat me once, and he had me down the first time too,” Archon stated. “If I can’t beat him, then he deserves to be champion, not me.” While Archon’s decision to defend the title immediately was admirable, it also cost him his belt. Pegasus controlled the title match from the opening bell. He was never in any jeopardy and hit the “Project Pegasus” three times before Archon finally failed to kick out. Just under one year from the time he was forced to give up the belt, Pegasus was champion again. The new champion was far more gracious than expected after his win. “I want to compliment Archon,” he said. “Most people would've stalled as long as possible before putting the belt on the line. He’s a great fighter and he has real guts. I respect him and his decision to fight me tonight. “But I got nothing more than what I deserve,” Pegasus went on. “I never lost this title. The record books will says that I haven't been the champion for the past year, but the truth is that no one has beaten me for this belt in almost two and a half years. Now I have it back, as I should. The real champ is on top again.”
RISING SUN TOPS THUNDER TO TAKE BACK IP TITLE For the second time in 2111, Rising Sun took the Interplanetary Championship away from Thunder by scoring a pinfall win at the Predator’s Lair of Beta Andomedae on September 19. The victory came in Rising Sun’s first match back after returning from an injury suffered in his last shot at the Thunder’s title, which took place at the Starclash supercard exactly one month earlier. In that contest, Rising Sun won by disqualification when the Aethran bodyguard and legend Brute attacked and injured the challenger to save his ally’s title.
The match at the Predator's Lair was a closely contested affair, as have been most between these increasingly bitter rivals. Thunder started strong, but three minutes into the match Rising Sun caught the champion for a quick rollup after a missed turnbuckle charge. Thunder kicked out of the pin attempt, but Rising Sun immediately went up for a Sunset Spectacular and scored the pinfall win before Brute could react and interfere again.
“I’m sure this isn't over,” Rising Sun said after the match. “He’ll be back after me again. We’ve been going back and forth all year, and he’s not going to stop now. But I have the belt now, and that’s all that matters. Let him try to take it back if he can.”
The two wrestlers have now traded the Interplanetary Belt back and forth three times in the past five months. Rising Sun become the IP champion for the second time with his win.
MORE CARD CANCELLATIONS DARKEN GWF OUTLOOK Two more GWF cards were cancelled under pressure from UFSP President Cordanus on August 26 at the Charon Ice Castle and on September 11 at the Stargazer Grotto. The GWF has now lost three cards in six weeks, along with several individual wrestlers and groups being banned from taking part on cards that did take place. “Yes, it is getting worse,” Commissioner Morpheus noted to reporters. “The cancellations seem to be getting more frequent. As he promised at Starclash, Cordanus has turned up the heat. I wish I could tell everyone that this will all pass, but I don’t know anymore. Once again, all I can say is that we will keep fighting for as long as we are able.”

TWIN BLOOD TAKES TAG BELTS FROM COMMANDOS Twin Blood, suffering through the team’s worst year since its formation, regained some of their previous status by winning the GWF Tag Team Titles for the fourth time by defeating Sam’s Commandos at the Pollux Starfire Arena on September 24. The title match between Twin Blood and the Commandos was a true classic. The challengers came out strong and beat Captain Dalcost down for several minutes. Dalcost was bloodied and battered and appeared to be out on his feet, but he refused to be pinned and was saved twice by the Canadian Bomber. Finally the Bomber tagged in and went to work, hammering Sleeze and nearly pulling off the pin. The Commandos even hit Sleeze with their “Military Force” finisher, but their victim escaped and tagged in his brother. Dreggs turned the tide back for several minutes, but eventually the Bomber took over again, and Dreggs too had to kick out of the “Military Force.” Unfortunately for the champions, Dalcost tagged in to complete the finishing move, and when Dreggs escaped he came back to hit the weakened Dalcost with a “Killer Drop” to score the pin and claim the titles. “That was a great win for us,” Dreggs said after the contest. “Those guys are as tough as it gets. Sleeze and me have struggled so much this year, so to finally get back to the top feels terrific. Now we have to hold on to these belts, which won’t be easy. But we’ve been here before, and nobody will take these titles without a major fight.”
WARRIOR VILLAGE WARFARE 2111 The supercard originally known as War Dome Warfare was started in 2099 at the prompting of Thakur the Oppressor. Held at the Aethra War Dome until 2104, the event was cancelled by the GWF for two years due to political disputes with Aethra. In 2106 the federation reinstituted the card and moved it to Aethra’s huge Warrior Village Coliseum. In 2110 the name of the card was finally changed to Warrior Village Warfare. The event was held on October 10 before a sellout crowd of over 144,000 fans.
The traditional format for War Dome Warfare involves at least one Aethran Ultimate Escape Match, with the main event including the Aethran team. This year’s card set the Gladiators against War Games-leading FDF in the cage. In addition, Galaxian Heavyweight Champion Pegasus signed to put his title on the line against Dark Justice.
WARRIOR VILLAGE WARFARE: THE CARD
Titan Hardcore Match: Assassin X over Overtime Time: 2:02 Krakan’s new signee dominated Overtime to win with the “Contract Killing,” giving him a record of 6-1 since entering the federation.
Tag Team Match: Cygnus Strikeforce over Transformer Time: 2:06 Maelstrom pinned Monad with a “Cygnus Slam.”
Lepus Stun Rod Match: Lance At-Las over Trench Time: 3:48 Lance hit a “Mars Manhandler” after knocking Trench down with the stun rod.
Cosmic Cage Match: Vyper over Tortured Soul Time:1:55 Easy win for Vyper
Six Man Battlezone Match: Euritar, Bloodline, and Terminus over Skinhead, Prodigy, and Necros Time: 18:30 Skinhead put on a great performance with an upset of Bloodline, but Terminus was even better as he scored the last two pins. Falls went as follows: Necros over Euritar, Bloodline over Necros, Skinhead over Bloodline, Terminus over Skinhead, Terminus over Prodigy.
Barbed Wire Cage Match: Mace over Spike Time: 4:57 Mace was overpowering in this predictably bloody affair as he continues to move more and more into singles action.
Dog Collar Chain Match for Special Matches Title: Mayhem over Painmaster (c) Time: 10:13 Painmaster never got much offense going in this match, but Mayhem had trouble putting him away as he missed six consecutive “Leaps of Doom.” The challenger finally won the belt with a “Danger Zone” after beating Painmaster bloody.
Falls Count Anywhere Tag Match: Rebel Empire over the Ninja Assassins Time: 5:43 Vendetta won it with a “Rack Bomb” on Daemon.
Four Weapons of Destruction Match: Corporal Aegis over Anarchy Time: 4:16 Totally dominant performance by Aegis
War Games Singles Title Match: Mandrill (c) over Wolf Time: 3:19 A tough fight, but Mandrill won it with a Colonizer Claw Slam as Wolf missed too many high risk moves.
War Games Tag Team Title Match: TitanAttack over the Ravagers (c) Time: 1:02 Quick win gave the Titans the belts as Nexus hit the “Flying Titan” on Vendross.
Ruins of Antilia Match: Max Shield over Genocide Time: 2:34 Max pinned his opponent with a “360 Backbreaker” in this contest that was over before it could event leave the ring and enter the simulated ruins.
Interplanetary Championship Match: Rising Sun (c) over Mike Fortune Time: 4:25 Rising Sun controlled most of the match. When the champion hit a “Sunset Spectacular” on Fortune, Krakan entered the ring to try to interfere. Rising Sun clotheslined both the manager and wrestler and then covered Fortune for the pin.
GWF Tag Team Title Match: Twin Blood (c) over Desolation Factor Time: 7:58 Desolation Factor had been the hottest team in the GWF, but Twin Blood looked like their old, unbeatable selves in this very wild and exciting match. Just before the eight minute mark, Dreggs went down to the “Racked and Ruined,” but Sleeze made the save and then the twins knocked out Rack as the referee moved Ruin out of the ring. Dreggs covered Rack for the pin, ending a contest in which all of the wrestlers were battered and Rack was injured.
Aethran Ultimate Escape Match: Vengeance, Thunder, Malice, and Overkill over Archon, Code Enforcer Manslaughter, Enigma, and Captain Dalcost. Time: 19: 28 Order of exit was as follows: Thunder over Archon, Overkill over Manslaughter, Malice over Manslaughter, Dalcost over Vengeance, Vengeance over Enigma. After Thunder's quick exit past Archon, Vengeance entered and wore down Manslaughter with the eye cleaver. The Gladiator leader then allowed Overkill and Malice to exit, leaving himself alone in the cage with four opponents. Dalcost and Vengeance then fought for over then minutes, with Dalcost finally escaping, but Vengeance came back and got past Enigma for a huge win. Manslaughter is expected to miss at least two weeks of action with his eye injuries.
Galaxian Heavyweight Championship Match: Dark Justice over Pegasus (c) Time: 5:11 The champion seemed to have things going his way against his oldest rival in the GWF, but Dark Justice scored two crushing suicide dives to cause some damage. When Pegasus missed a deathjump, Dark Justice connected with a “Judicial Forearm” and rolled the champion up for a quick pin. Dark Justice thus became the Galaxian Heavyweight Champion for the first time in his twenty-year career and became the third wrestler managed by Krakan to win the title in the past year, after Genocide and Mike Fortune.
WAR GAMES RACE TIGHTENS UP With their loss in the Ultimate Escape Match at War Dome Warfare, the FDF has seen its large War Games lead shrink. With one month left in the Games, The Colonizers are only nine points back, with The Ramparts, Team Thantos, and the Fighting Titans all following close behind. Even the defending champions, Krakan’s Deadly Militia, have pulled back into contention, though they face long odds at this point.
Complete War Games Standings as of October 10 are as follows: 1. Federation Defense Fighters (127 points) 2. Colonizers of Scorpi (119 points) 3. Ramparts of Centra (112 points) 4. Team Thantos (110 points) 5. The Fighting Titans (109 points) 6. Krakan’s Deadly Militia (103 points) 7. Gladiators of Aethra (95 points) 8. Guile’s Payback (92 points) 9. W. A. R. (79 points) 10. Entropy (78 points)

MORPHEUS PRESS CONFERENCE: NEW WRESTLER TO ENTER GWF; TITAN CHALLENGE CHANGES GWF Commissioner Morpheus called a press conference on October 15, 2111, appearing on stage alone at the Supernova Solarium. “Thank you all for being here,” the commissioner said as he addressed the press corps. “I have two announcements today. “First, I am pleased to welcome a new wrestler who will be entering the GWF in the coming weeks. He is a cruiserweight, a masked man named Tyranny. I confess that I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting Tyranny or seeing him in action, but he comes very highly recommended by our recruitment department. I am told by our staff that he is a future champion. We welcome Tyranny to the GWF and look forward to his debut. “My other announcement concerns the Titan Challenge Supercard, which will be held on in one month on November 13,” Morpheus continued. “As you all know, for several years the Challenge was a joint promotion with the USWF, until our difficulties with Magnus Colby and Colby’s takeover of the USWF caused a complete separation between our two federations. After great consideration, the GWF executive board has decided that Mr. Colby has demonstrated his good faith as majority owner of the USWF enough that we can relax our stance slightly. “The Titan Challenge will not yet return to being a fully joint promotion. However, I have negotiated with USWF Commissioner Grogan to allow select USWF stars to compete as guests at the Challenge. We will provide more details as the matches are finalized. We hope that this agreement will serve as another step in re-establishing a good working relationship between the GWF and the USWF.”
SHORT TITLE REIGN FOR DARK JUSTICE Dark Justice’s first ever reign as Galaxian Heavyweight Champion turned out to be a brief one as he lost the title to Thunder after just fifteen days in his first defense. The match took place at the Alpha Centauri Collonade on October 25, 2111. The contest started slowly, with neither wrestler able to take an early advantage. After a few minutes of back-and-forth action, Thunder knocked Dark Justice down with a crushing deathjump, but the champion managed to recover quickly. Moments later, however, Dark Justice attempted to whip his opponent into the turnbuckle. Thunder ducked, and the champion hit the corner hard, stunning himself. Before Krakan could react to interfere, Thunder rolled Dark Justice up for a surprising pinfall to claim the Galaxian title for the first time. Thunder’s win continues a period of amazing instability for the Galaxian Heavyweight Title. Following a five month, ten defense reign for Max Shield beginning in late 2110 and a three month, eight defense run for Genocide until late June, the belt has now changed hands six times in five months, from Mike Fortune to Mandrill to Archon to Pegasus to Dark Justice to Thunder, with none of the champions holding the title for more than two defenses.
MAELSTROM INJURED BY SAM’S COMMANDOS Maelstrom suffered the first significant injury of his GWF career when he suffered strained shoulder muscles in a tag team match between Cygnus Strikeforce and Sam’s Commandos at the Brymstone Battledome on October 18. The alien superstar was expected to miss up to six weeks of action. His manager, Mangus, was surprisingly untroubled by the incident. “We were’t going to win the War Games anyway,” said Mangus, whose tag team had joined forces with Krakan’s Deadly Militia again this year. “Maelstrom will heal, and U. S. Traitor will fight in singles matches until he comes back. But it is time to make some changes. When Maelstrom is healthy again, my team will have a surprise for everyone.”
FINAL BREAK FOR DISORDER X The long-expected breakup of Disorder X finally took place at the Antares Firedome in a match against GWF Tag Team Champions Twin Blood on October 18.
The problems once again started when a double team move went bad and Grunge, aiming for Dreggs, instead knocked down his partner. As he had three previous times in the past year, Mace climbed to his feet and walked away in mid-match, leaving Grunge alone against the tag team champions. The handicap match did not last long, and Twin Blood had no problem retaining the belts.
After the card, Grunge announced that Disorder X was finished. “That’s the fourth time that big moron has walked out on me,” Grunge spat. “I said I would be done if it happened a third time, but since I managed to win that match by myself I agreed to give it one more shot. But this is it. I’ve had it. I’m better off on my own. Tell that overmuscled idiot that our tag team is history.”
Mace was not bothered by the news. “All my team with Grunge has done is make me appreciate how hard Sleeze must have worked to carry X-Termination to all of those tag titles,” the big man sneered. “I don’t need a loser like that. I’ve been happier in singles matches this year. I’ve already proven I’m the best in tag matches. Now I’ll do the same on my own. As for Grunge, tell him to stay out of my way or I’ll prove once and for all what a weakling he is.”

FDF ROLLS ON TO WAR GAMES WIN The Federation Defense Fighters put the finishing touches on their 2111 War Games victory on the final card of the Games at the Andromeda Nebula Pavilion on November 6. The final score of the Games was not close, as the FDF continued to rack up points to the very end. While all of the team members contributed, much of the credit for the triumph went to Archon, who has had an outstanding singles year, and to Sam’s Commandos, who have continued as one of the Federation’s top tag teams in what they have announced will be their final year of wrestling. “This is a great victory for us,” commented Commander Sam, whose squad won the Games for the second time in four years. “With all of the cancellations and problems with Cordanus, this has been a tough year. But we held on, and all of our men did a great job. I’m glad we could send Dalcost and the Bomber out this way.” Manslaughter, Archon, and Commander Sam all won their second War Games rings with the FDF, with Sam’s both coming as a manager. Enigma also took home his second ring, the first having come ten years earlier with the Citadel of the Elite. Captain Dalcost and the Canadian Bomber were War Games winners in the GWF for the first time, although both have also won a ring in the USWF. Final 2111 War Games Standings were as follows: 1. Federation Defense Fighters (154 Points) 2. The Fighting Titans (139 Points) 3. Colonizers of Scorpi (135 Points) 4. Team Thantos (126 Points) 5. Ramparts of Centra (124 Points) 6. Gladiators of Aethra (122 Points) 7. Guile’s Payback (119 Points) 8. Krakan’s Deadly Militia (118 Points) 9. W. A. R. (103 Points) 10. Entropy (95 Points)
TITAN CHALLENGE SUPERCARD The Titan Challenge is the creation of “Trainer Jim” Powell and has been held at the Titan Sportatorium of Saturn each November since 2095. From 2101 to 2106 the Challenge was a co-promotion of the GWF and the USWF and featured wrestlers from both federations. In 2107, due to the legal separation of the two federations, the supercard returned to its original format as a showcase for special challenge matches.
Although the 2111 Titan Challenge, which took place on November 13, was not a full joint promotion, the GWF did once again invite specific wrestlers from the USWF to participate and invited all other USWF personnel to attend as guests. USWF stars appearing on the card were Theater of Pain, Holocaust, Scorpio, Charon, Wrath, Predator, Venom, Black Hawk, Blitz, Scar, Maccavity, and Colossus. In addition, the main event was to be a non-title match between GWF Galaxian Heavyweight Champion Thunder and USWF Heavyweight Champion and eight time former GWF Heavyweight Champion Raven.
TITAN CHALLENGE: THE CARD Transrevolver over Theater of Pain (USWF) by disqualification Time: 3:08 The USWF team of Tragedy and Comedy, who are also two-time former GWF Tag Team Champions, dominated the contest and never even let Monad tag in, but Tragedy was disqualified for activity outside the ring.
Enigma over Prodigy Time: 4:02 After Prodigy reversed a whip into the turnbuckle, Enigma dodged a corner charge and rolled his opponent up for the win.
Castor Chain Match: Mace over Holocaust (USWF) Time: 3:49 Mace dominated this battle of two former W. A. R. members and pinned the USWF star with “Mace’s Little Helper.”
Tag-Team Match: Rebel Empire over Charon and Scorpio (USWF) Time: 3:33 Charon and Scorpio competed in the GWF in 2109 during an exile from the USWF and held the GWF Tag Team Titles for six weeks, during which they frequently fought Rebel Empire. In this rematch of that feud, Rebel Empire scored the win as Vendetta pinned Scorpio with a “Big Fall.”
Total Anarchy Match: Anarchy over Painmaster Time: 3:20 Anarchy got the pin when his opponent stepped on a mine outside the ring. After the bell, Tocsin and Painmaster ganged up to hammer Anarchy for several minutes. The Brymstone star is expected to miss the remainder of 2111 with his injuries.
Titan Hardcore Match: Blazing Skull over Blade Time: 3:12 Blazing Skull took the first opportunity to release a very powerful “Death By Fire” on his longtime rival, earning the win but also a suspension for the remainder of 2111. Blade was injured badly in the frightening incident and will miss several weeks if not the rest of the year.
Barber Wire Cage Match: Wrath (USWF) over Mike Fortune Time: 5:16 Fortune put up a very good fight against the greatest cage wrestler of all time, but the man who held the USWF Heavy Metal Title for all but three weeks of a six year period came out with the win even though he was injured and bleeding worse than his opponent in the end.
Cruiserweight Challenge: GWF Cruiserweight Champion Euritar over USWF Cruiserweight Champion Maccavity (USWF) Time: 3:12 Euritar scored with the “Heads Will Roll” to win a match that would have been over even more quickly if not for repeated interference by Maccavity’s manager Marikel.
Six-Man Tag Team Match: Black Hawk (USWF) and Sam’s Commandos over Venom (USWF) and Rebellion (USWF) Time: 8:24 USWF star Black Hawk joined his former teammates in the younger federation's Star Defenders to defeat the USWF Gladiator contingent when the Canadian Bomber pinned Blitz. All six men were battered in this very tough contest.
Lepus Stun Rod Match: Corporal Aegis over Bloodline Time: 0:45 Aegis scored a stunningly quick pin with the “Corporal Punishment.”
Scorpi King of the Ring Match: Colossus (USWF) over Code Enforcer Manslaughter Time: 7:31 Manslaughter had the early advantage, but the USWF star stormed back for an impressive win.
Four Weapons of Destruction Match: Predator (USWF) over Malice Time: 4:26 In the rekindling of a feud that goes back to 2099, when Malice entered the GWF as the bodyguard of the Gladiator Vanguard team in the Aethran Civil War, and reached its height when both men were in the USWF in 2101-2103, Predator got the win after a tough and bloody battle in which both wrestlers were injured.
TitanAttack over Desolation Factor Time: 5:41 Scion Nexus scored the pin on Rack with a “Rise and Fall,” giving the home-planet favorites their victory.
Circinus Cell Match: Pegasus over Terminus Time: 2:23 This one was all Pegasus as “the Great One” quickly got the win with a “Total Submission.”
Tirion Triple Threat Match: Genocide over Max Shield in a match also involving Mandrill Time: 16:25 This was not only the best match of the card but perhaps the best of the year. All three men were bloody and beaten when the monster finally hit his “Corpus Genocide” on Shield for the win. All three men had connected with their finishers multiple times, but each time the third man in the match interrupted. Mandrill and Shield were both expected to miss at least one card after the match.
Main Event: GWF Heavyweight Champion Thunder over USWF Heavyweight Champion Raven Time: 4:56 Raven, who had not appeared on a GWF card since 2106 and received the loudest cheers of the evening, seemed to have the match won with a “Broadsword,” but Brute interfered to prevent the pin. Raven then missed a suicide dive outside the ring, and Thunder quickly followed up with a DDT to end this excellent showdown of champions.
After the main event ended, Raven asked for a microphone. “It’s good to be back on a GWF card after so long,” he said as the fans screamed in response. “On behalf of the USWF roster, I want to thank the GWF management for having us here as guests. It’s been a lot of fun.
“As for you, Thunder,” he continued, “I think I had you beat if Brute hadn’t gotten involved. That’s okay; I’m not making excuses. You got the pin, and that’s all that counts. But if you’re willing, and if the commissioners can arrange it, I’d be happy to come back and do this again in about six weeks at your Galacticade supercard.”
The fan response to Raven’s challenge was deafening. After the card, GWF Commissioner Morpheus refused to commit to the match but said that he would be willing to discuss the possibility.
GWF RANDOM NOTES On the final card of the War Games, Overkill was badly injured in a GWF Tag Team Title Match with Twin Blood. The Gladiator powerhouse is expected to miss the remainder of 2111. Assassin X, Krakan’s new addition, has been very impressive so far, compiling a 9-3 overall record and moving into the rankings for the Interplanetary and Special Matches Titles.
The newcomer Tyranny lost his first two matches, to Prodigy and Enigma. Enigma wondered aloud after his match how someone with such obviously limited ability could have been characterized as a “future champion.”
Lorelei has left the GWF, apparently for the remainder of 2111. She has promised to return with surprises in 2112. Painmaster and Tocsin, who Lorelei had managed throughout 2111, seemed very displeased with her sudden departure.
Mace has been outstanding as a singles competitor since the breakup of Disorder X, moving to the top of the Interplanetary Rankings.
With the conclusion of the Games, Taechon announced the intention of returning to competition in the GWWF.
Necros also announced that he would continue to wrestle part time in the GWF.
The USWF War Games having ended, Paragon and Nora Pelf have returned to the GWF.
