A fun read Troy. I like how you describe the action, short but sweet! Blast From the Past 2089 card (via Game Table) 1. Star Warrior easily crushed Death Knight with a cross body block. Warrior dominated from the get-go, hit a couple Running Star Blasts and then the cross body block to win. 2. Thantos destroyed Beast-Rider with the Masterlock. It took all of 3 moves for Thantos to put away Beast-Rider. He quickly clamped on the Masterlock forcing a quick submission I'm surprised to see SW and Thantos booked so early in the night, maybe they got the Hogan privilege of leaving early? 4. The Creeper shocked Mesmer with a heart punch. Creeper dominated the matchup and hit an Eliminator. Mesmer got out of that, but a Creeper Grip and a heart punch spelled defeat. Creeper is no joke. Heart punch/Creeper Grip = lights out on anyone! 6. Invincible Krakan put away Earthquake with the Falling Face Slam. Earthquake dominated the offense, but Krakan was never in serious trouble until he finally took over, hit a top rope clothesline, a pair of gut wrench suplexes and the Falling Face Slam to win. Imagine the impact...I hope they reinforced the ring for that spot! 17. Lord Nexus put away Splatter in a total blood bath. Splatter would not stay down (9 pin tokens as I don't do countouts), but finally Nexus hit a reverse knife-edge and that had just enough to put Splatter down for the three count. Splatter reminded me of Cactus Jack circa his first WCW run. Great work ethic, does more with less than just about anyone. 19. In a stunning upset, Reptillo put away Bounty Hunter with the Lizard Clutch. Bounty Hunter took Reptillo too lightly and paid for it when Reptillo caught him with a flying tackle, the Reptillo Claw Hold and the Lizard Clutch to win. Reptillo always had a quirky underdog charisma for me. I could see him running into the stands and basking in celebration with the crowd after that one! 20. Galaxian Champion Spike survived a tough challenge from a plucky Adam Blast to win with the Super Destroyer. Spike had his trouble with the young military man who seemed to have things going his way until he tried a flying leg scissors and got tossed off. From there, Spike hit an Atomic Spike and then the Super Destroyer to win. I always felt Adam Blast got the shaft from GWF Creative. At this point he seemed on the cusp of bigger and better things to come. That 7 (4) would prove to be a recurring Achilles' heel.

Interplanetary Champion Tauran held off a game Retribution with the Equuleus Sharpshooter for the submission. Retribution would not go down easily and nearly pulled off an upset with Grounding the Demon. Tauran could not hook on his finisher, but he kept working Retribution over until he got the victory.
BD Revolution crushed The True Gamemasters when Havoc used the Cosmic Nightmare to pin Star Warrior. Thantos never legally got in the ring as Alpha Female pounded Star Warrior down and then Havoc finished him off.
Psi stunned Anivar with a quick small package for the win. Anivar had just taken control when he decided to toss Psi into the ropes. Psi anticipated the move and suddenly small packaged Anivar for the pin. Anivar threw a fit after the match due to the fluke loss.
BD AniMen beat TitanConflict when Balaal used Bite of the Serpent to put away Tristan. Tristan and Nitro couldn't keep on offense as they got pounded down and Balaal put down Tristan easily.
Nosfera totally bloodied up Monolith before pinning him after using Demon's Breath. Once again Monolith couldn't keep an opponent down before Nosfera went crazy with Panic in the Streets then Demon Breath to win.
Frontal Assault beat The Legend Killers when Zygon used the Tri-Claw to put away Ensor. Thraxx and Zygon wanted to prove they were still relevant and did so by pounding down Ensor and making sure Payback was unable to save him before he was pinned by the Tri-Claw.
Tricks pinned Overtime following two straight Ax Murderers. Overtime dominated early, but the psycho clown came fighting back and won it following two straight finisher attempts.
Endgame easily handled Bishop Hell with the Rolling Figure Four. Bishop couldn't maintain an offense and Endgame took him down with the figure four.
The Ultimate Fighters beat Military Powers when Shoot caused Paganax to pass out in Tapped Out. Paganax and Tharkas couldn't get enough offense while the Fighters had plenty as they worked their way back into contention for the tag belts with an easy victory.
Coven Black put away Symbiosis with Bite of the Vampire. Symbiosis tried his best but couldn't keep Coven down. Coven came back and won fairly easily. After the match, Symbiosis seemed very dazed. His symbiote led him to the back.
Circus Strongmen beat Lords of the Pounce when Gryt pinned Malkuth with the Mighty Bodyslam. The Strongmen were game as they pounded Panther Warrior and Malkuth until both were covered in blood. Finally Tanck hit Tancked and then tagged in Gryt who hit his body slam for the victory.
Hector pinned Patch with the Serial Stalker. Hector had trouble keeping up on offense, but when Patch was only dazed from a torture rack, Hector slid behind him and suddenly hit the Serial Stalker to win.
Oracle put away HelSin with Dark Futures. HelSin had the advantage for a while, but he went up one time too many and got slammed to the mat. Oracle quickly hit his finisher to take the win.
Rush and Turmoil beat Swarm and Plethador when Rush pinned Swarm after smashing Swarm and Plethador's heads together. Swarm and Plethador actually gave the champions quite the run before Turmoil managed to superplex Swarm to the mat before Rush and Turmoil hit Chaos in the Crowd. Plethador tried to make the save only for Rush to smash him into Swarm and then covered Swarm for the three count.
In a Cosmic Cage match, Paralyze pinned The Betrayer (CD) with Permanently Parlayzed. Sadly, just as this match was getting going, Paralyze quickly hit his finisher after knocking Betrayer to the mat. Betrayer was stunned and unable to kick out. (3 matches ended in snake eyes)
Galaxian Champion Aethran OverMaster once again put down Harbinger to defeat with the Revolutionary Spear. Harbinger couldn't keep OverMaster done, and OverMaster came back to score the win. (Interestingly, no one managed to hit a finisher as OverMaster missed his one chance and Harbinger never rolled one)

Well the new art for Ensor gave me a bit of inspiration so
1. The Ultimate Fighters beat The True Gamemasters when Shoot locked Star Warrior into a guillotine choke for the submission. Clinch got off to a hot start on Star Warrior, but Thantos and Star Warrior battled back scoring several near falls. Star Warrior however missed a move allowing Shoot to tag in and Shoot when to town before locking Star Warrior into a choke for the submission.
2. Paralyze pinned Patch with the Decapitator. Patch survived two Permanently Paralzyed with big kick outs, but eventually got surprised with a Decapitator for the pinfall.
3. Coven Black pinned Retribution with Diamond Eyes. Retribution got off to a hot start but Coven caught him and suddenly hit Diamond Eyes for an easy three count.
4. In a non title match, Aethran OverMaster squashed Plethador with Reign of the OverMaster (+4). This was short and sweet as OverMaster pounded down the amphibian before hitting his finisher. After the match, Harbinger came down and stared at OverMaster as Havoc tried to sneak attack him. This led to a brawl as the Gladiators as well as SpellBound got into a big fracas that spilled to the back.
5. Council of War beat Lords of the Pounce when Tharkas used the Obliterator to pin Panther Warrior. The Lords got to a hot start as well, but they couldn't keep Paganax down, then Tharkas came and worked Panther Warrior down for the three count.
6. Rotunda shocked Shann-Ra with a Two Ton Turnbuckle Trap. Shann-Ra probably should have had this easy but she wiped out on a deathjump allowing Rotunda to grab the advantage and hit her with a big butt bump into the corner followed by the Turnbuckle Trap for the win.
7. Overtime edged Nosfera with Overtime Rules. Overtime got off to a good start, but Nosfera slowed him down with a low blow. It looked like Nosfera might take it, but Overtime regained control on the floor of all places and then hit two Overtime Rules to take the win.
8. The Circus Strongmen took down TitanConflict with a Strongman Stretch on Tristan. Gryt suddenly put Tristan in it and Tristan felt his ligaments near tearing and quickly submitted before even Nitro could react. (snake eyes)
9. She Devil put away Mistress of Darkness with Fallen Devil. Mistress got in some good shots after She Devil missed her first attempt at Fallen Devil, but She Devil came back and hit two Eyes of the Temptress and another Fallen Devil to win.
10. Havoc dropped Symbiosis with the Cosmic Nightmare. Symbiosis got off to a hot start and nearly took the upset with several near falls, but Havoc battled back and hit his finisher to score the victory.
11. Deadliest put away Scorn with Purification. Scorn had her chances but she couldn't keep Deadliest down allowing Deadliest to come back with her finisher to score the win.
12. Swarm crushed Tricks with the Beekeeper Backbreaker. Swarm seemed more focused than usual and toyed with Tricks who usually had his number before hitting the Backbreaker to win.
13. Mother Superior upset Alpha Female with Mother of Destruction. Alpha Female complained about the lack of competition and worthy challengers among the women which was why she normally wrestled the men. Mother Superior took exception to this and then surprised Alpha Female with two Feel My Pains and then Mother of Destruction to win.
14. Hector upset Endgame with Simple Obsession. This was one of the best matches of the night with both guys having chances to win before Hector finally grabbed the upset.
15. Frontal Assault beat The Legend Killers when Thraxx pinned Payback with Power of Kroll. Payback took a beating as Ensor seemed totally uninterested in the match and made only a half-hearted attempt on a pin save.
16. Bishop Hell put away Monolith with a Cult Cross Body Block. Monolith survived two Hellfires and looked to have the win when he wiped out on Catastrophe allowing Bishop Hell to hit Black Death Cometh and then the Cult Cross Body Block to win.
17. FDF Prime beat Cage Death when HelSin locked in a crossface submission on Anivar. This was a brawl and Anivar looked to have it with a Brutal Beating on Tauran only for Tauran to make a comeback with the Victory Star Drop and HelSin hooked in the crossface to take a close victory.
18. Harbinger took down Psi with the Portent of Doom. Psi frustrated Harbinger early with his reversals but eventually Harbinger rebounded with the Soul Taker and then the Portent of Doom to win.
19. The Guardian pinned Mantis with the Super Punch. Mantis got in some shots early, but Guardian came back with two head butts and then the super punch to win.
20. The Gladiators had their toughest challenge in a while with Spellbound before Rush caught Balaal with the Adrenaline Rush to win. Oracle looked fantastic but the Gladiators scored a narrow win before Harbinger and Havoc hit the ring, followed by OverMaster and Paralyze and a brawl ended the show.
Next card it has been signed

2. BD AniMen beat Lords of the Pounce when Balaal used Bite of the Serpent to put away Panther Warrior. Malkuth went to check on his partner when Panther Warrior suddenly nailed him. Has Black Death made another convert or is it just Balaal's strange powers?
3. Overtime managed to keep his streak going by surprising Hector with Overtime Rules. Overtime avoided Hector's tricks and then hit him with his finisher to score a big victory.
4. Legend Killers beat The Circus Strongmen when Payback pinned Gryt with Exvenge (+6). Once again Ensor just stood and never made an effort to tag into the match. Payback almost blew his chances missing Exvenge twice, but he survived and finally hit a perfect one to score the win.
5. Plethador put away Symbiosis with the Suction Claw. Plethador had trouble keeping Symbiosis down but a Lily Pad Leap followed by the Suction Claw gave him a much needed victory.

Aethran OverMaster escaped on Havoc via Reign of the OverMaster F. Oracle escaped on Turmoil via Dark Futures G. Havoc escaped on Turmoil via Black Death Cometh
The Gladiators were fuming at the results as Turmoil looked to have had an elimination on Havoc but the referee was caught in the corner and couldn't count the pinfall. Havoc came back with a smash into the cage and then Black Death Cometh to score the final fall and escape.

Figured you'd like my use of DSC. Planning on using him as a special attraction here and in the GWFZ.
Plethador had his troubles but managed to win.
Gladiators will of course be seeking revenge.

1. In a Dumpster Death Match (thanks Chewey) Tricks bloodied Oracle severely before using the Ax Murderer to pin him in the dumpster. This was a nasty brawl that Oracle dominated early until he tried the wrong move on the dumpster and it gave way. After that it was all Tricks until he knocked Oracle silly with a beer bottle and then used his finisher to win.
2. Ensor battled Zygon to a no contest when Oracle and Coven Black interfered. The two knocked Ensor to the floor and then double teamed Zygon until Thraxx and Symbiosis showed up to drive them off.
3. A reluctant Malkuth beat Panther Warrior with Lord of the Pounce. Malkuth was shocked until Balaal showed up. Then it dawned on him that Panther Warrior seemed to be under some sort of spell. Malkuth dominated early but Panther Warrior came back and was thrashing Malkuth until Malkuth escaped to the floor. When Panther Warrior dove at him, Malkuth countered leaving PW loopy. Inside, Malkuth quickly hit Lord of the Pounce for the three count as he tried to snap Panther Warrior out of the spell.
4. Paralyze nearly was upset by Symbiosis but battled back to win with Permanently Paralyzed. Symbiosis would not go down forever and kept getting near falls before Paralyze finally woke up and hit his finisher twice to take the win.
5. Alpha Female put away Tharkas with Dire Straph. Tharkas got in some good offense but AF bid her time then pounded him down before finally scoring the victory.
6. Payback pinned Retribution with Exvenge (+4). Payback made short work of Retribution with the WIldman Spear, a Pump Handle Slam and then Exvenge to finish Retribution off.
7. Nitro pinned Gryt following a Electromagnetic Moonsault. This was mostly Nitro as he dominated Gryt with his powerful offense. Gryt made a brief comeback but Nitro managed to counter and hit a Repelling Shock Punch and then his Moonsault to win.
8. Plethador nearly pulled a huge upset over Balaal before finally falling to the Venom Spit. It looked like Plethador had Balaal on the ropes, only for Balaal to get a late reversal and then the Venom Spit to win.
9. Star Warrior pinned Clinch with the Cosmic Big Nova Launch (+3). Star Warrior was cocky, but he backed it up, surviving several punches and a ground and pound to come back with the Tomahawk Thrust, Hall of Fame Lock, Super Hero Hammer and then the Cosmic Big Nova Launch to win.
10. Betrayer finally took down a totally bloody Overtime with Dead on Arrival. Overtime was a bloody mess as Betrayer kept hitting Dead on Arrival and Crash and Burn. Betrayer nearly blew it a couple times after Overtime got on offense, but he held on to score the victory. (11 pin tokens for Overtime)
11. In an I Quit Steel Cage Match (thank you SoccerGuru) Swarm forced Mantis to quit to the Wasp Trap. Swarm dominated his son, even though he seemed upset about it. It nearly cost him late in the match as he went for an Exploder Suplex but Mantis reversed into the Prey Snare. However, Mantis foolishly tried to slam his father's head into the cage, only for Swarm to reverse it, hit the Venomous Stinger and then lock on the Wasp Trap until Mantis was forced to quit to avoid further injury.
12. Thantos put away Patch with the Masterlock. Patch dominated early with The Evil Eye and Walk the Walk, but Thantos made a comeback and locked on the Masterlock for the submission.
13. Paganax easily handled SHoot with Pagan Void. Shoot gave it a go, but this was pretty much all Paganax until he hit his finisher for the victory.
14. Hector the Holy Brown Bear defeated Bishop Hell with I Know Your Secret to win the Interplanetary Title. This was short as Bishop dominated early, but Hector gained control, hit Wicked Games and then two I Know Your Secret to take the win and the title.
15. Havoc crushed Turmoil with the Cosmic Nightmare. This didn't last long as Havoc quickly knocked Turmoil down and then hit his finisher for the win. Turmoil was then nailed by Alpha Female and her Slave No More finisher as Havoc and Alpha Female walked away laughing.
16. In a bloody Last Man Standing match (thanks Mr. Hyde) Tauran put away Anivar with the Victory Star Drop (+4). Anivar actually survived two +6 Victory Star Drops, and a +5 one, but he was finally beaten down after a last gasp effort when Tauran managed to reverse him on the floor and then hit the Prime Powerbomb and Victory Star Drop to win.
17. Tanck upset Psi with Tancked. Psi looked to have it with his odd moves but somehow Tanck battled back and hit his finisher to score the upset.
18. Coven Black put away HelSin with Bite of the Vampire. Coven was furious about his loss the other night and so got revenge here pounding HelSin down before hitting his finisher to win.
19. Endgame surprised Rush with a fairly easy win with the Top Rope Catapult. Endgame took some Rush offense and then quickly hit the Top Rope Catapult after a reversal to win. The tag champions suffer two humiliating losses on the card.
20. Tristan beat Thraxx with Arcana. Thraxx dominated and tossed Tristan around, only for Tristan to come back with a double leg kick and then Arcana to score a huge upset.
21. Monolith and Nosfera battled to a double countout as they brawled to the floor and then to the back with no regard to the referee. These two just couldn't stand each other and fell out of the ring shortly into the match and were both counted out.
22. In a Galaxian Title Home Run Derby Match (thanks Poke), Aethran OverMaster beat Harbinger with Reign of the OverMaster after using a bat covered in tacks. Harbinger dominated but OverMaster bid his time, reversed with the tack bat and then hit his finisher to win. (Side Note, Black Death wrestlers lose their abilities for two cards)

1. Tricks pinned Bishop Hell with the Killing Joke. Bishop gave it a go, but without his powers, he had trouble finishing off Tricks who used his favorite tactics befoer using the Killing Joke to win.

3. Hector retained the Interplanetary title over Retribution with I Know Your Secret. Retribution had his moments but in the end, Hector used Wicked Games to set up I Know Your Secret to win.
4. Cage Death put away The Legend Killers when Betrayer knocked out Payback with a guillotine choke. Ensor continued his invisibility act by tagging in for short periods and then quickly tagging out. Payback gave it a go, but a missed Exvenge allowed Anivar to tag in Betrayer who used his choke to put away Payback as Ensor failed to make the save.
5. Patch put down Nosfera with the Torture Rack. Nosfera got off to a good start, but Patch battled back on the floor and finally locked in the Torture Rack where Nosfera passed out.
6. Plethador upset Panther Warrior with the Suction Claw after Skwish reenergized a dehydrated Plethador. Plethador dominated early but PW came back and was loooking to take advantage of the dehydrated Pleth, but Skwish busted out the water gun and not only got Plethy re-hydrated but caused Panther Warrior to slip on the water allowing Plethador to lock on the Suction Claw and hold him down for the three count. 14. The Gladiators squashed BD Revolution when Rush pinned Alpha Female with The Tempest. Revolution had been looking impressive, but when Rush and Turmoil have to put the belts on the line, they take their game to a new level. Havoc barely saw inside the ring as Rush and Turmoil battered down Alpha Female before Rush scored the pinfall. After the match, Havoc got put through a table as Rush and Turmoil celebrated.
15. Monolith squashed Oracle with Catastrophe. Oracle managed a Divination, but otherwise it was all Monolith until he scored an easy pinfall.
16. Aethran OverMaster escaped with the GWF Title by the skin of his teeth versus Endgame following a Reign of the OverMaster (+6). Even hitting his finisher at full force almost was not enough as Endgame just barely missed kicking out of it. OverMaster held the title high to close the show.
