Personally, I think stripping Rubicon then having a tournament (or having two guys fight for an Interim championship) would have been a better idea.

Essentially Thock is now the interim champion; he will have to face Rubicon upon his return.

I went with what the fan vote was in the "Rubicon no-showed a Title match; what should happen?" poll in the CPC/POW forum. It was "stripped of the title & awarded to opponent."

I personally voted for "given a warning, don't do it again." but that wasn't how the vote came out so I adapted the storyline.

Nice card. I think the Rubicon situation was handled correctly, at least in my opinion. If I remember correctly this is what the UFC does in cases of injury giving the former champion the chance to reclaim his championship while the other fighters who hold it are considered interim champions until they beat him to be undisputed.

I told you Mr. Bloat was a beast! Dominating Ventross is no small feat.

QUETZAL vs. SYCOPHANT
- Sycophant toyed with him in this one; easily escaping every takedown attempt. He took control of the fight whenever it suited him; this game continued until Quetzal caught him with a high kick. That flicked on the serious switch & Sycophant grounded the fight & kept it there. Molestation followed by Asphyxiation & Quetzal was done.

WINNER: Sycophant by SUB (Asphyxiation)



MACK CALIBUR vs. ONAMI
- Calibur surprised everyone by appearing with Hustler for the event; Blue Steel informed everyone that the POW was home; here they could be as violent as they wished without consequence. Unfortunately, Calibur drew Onami for his premier fight & Onami crushed him. He caught Calibur off guard with a quick jab, cross, haymaker combo that put him on his a*s. Onami stepped back & motioned for Calibur to get back up & then hit a charging knee & put him right back down. Onami dropped into side control & blistered Calibur with knees & elbows until he was unconscious.

WINNER: Onami by KO (knee strikes & elbows to the head)

Onami: “Welcome to the POW b***h!” (Onami punctuated his welcome by spitting on Calibur & leaving the cage; faking a swing a Hustler that made his duck)



AHNU vs. DANTE
- There was 100% chance that this one was going to end via knockout; neither one looked to grapple, they just traded blow after blow. Each man took the other’s best shots & gave their own right back; bomb after bomb dropped. It went back & forth like this until Dante got some separation with a side kick then buckled Ahnu’s knee with a kick & dropped him with a straight right to the jaw.

WINNER: Dante by KO (kick to knee, punch to jaw)



ZED vs. STIGMA
- Stigma charged in & landed a series of furious jabs & elbows; Zed hit a counter combo & Stigma clinched. Zed tried a knee to the chin & Stigma went into another furious attack of punches & elbows. Zed covered up, drop stepped, hit an inside leg kick & KTFO’d him with a wicked right hook. WOW!

WINNER: Zed by KO (left kick to knee, right to head)



EURITAR vs. PENDEKAR
- This one had title implications all over it as the winner of this fight would probably step into a title fight at the next Superfight. That said; Pendekar made a statement: o uchi gari, uchi mata, calf slicer, OVER! (:30)

WINNER: Pendekar by SUB (calf slicer)

Thayne: “I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a long time; winning this title will show everyone in Alpha Lyrae who the dominant force is in the POW.”

(Image shifts to the POW Lightweight Champion)

Akuma: “I’m honored to be defending this title against such a worthy competitor; Thayne is the top ranked challenger & has some solid wins on his resume.”

(Image shifts back to Thayne)

Thayne: “Akuma is smooth & a crafty striker. He will change levels on quickly; I have to be ready for that & strike when he least expects it. He is a little better than me in the clinch so I have to either bang with him or take him down.”

(Image shifts back to Akuma)

Akuma: “I would say that Thayne is a mirror. We have equal talents standing & grappling. The secret to victory lies in my ability to submit my opponents. I will choke him out & bring honor back to my dojo.”



LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT
AKUMA ( c ) vs. THAYNE
- This was an all out slug-fest & hands down the Fight of the Night! Thayne pressed the assault but Akuma withstood the attack & came roaring back. It was Thayne’s ability to control the scrambles that made the difference & when Akuma locked on a guillotine choke, Thayne picked him up & slammed him down hard, slipped away & locked on a straight knee bar that popped Akuma’s knee out of socket.


WINNER & NEW LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION: Thayne by TKO (straight knee bar)

(Post fight interview with Thayne; as Jack Hood straps the title around his waist.)

Thayne: “Gelasia, my life; your release is another step closer! This & everything; I do for you & our children! I will always love you!!!”

Pendekar over Euritar in :30 seconds! Pendekar was there to make a statement.

Fantastic fight between Ahnu and Dante, complete stand-up!

Well what can I say, Mack Calibur knows what it means to be in a real fight. Onami is no slouch and I see a feud brewing between these men.

Great card, dude, though it's funny you had Dante and Ahnu on that card, because on my last card, Dante beat Euritar to get a shot at Ahnu's Title.

Camera follows Commissioner Hood into his office; Pandra Nicole sits behind his desk, dressed to kill in a plunging neckline navy dress that starkly contrasts her long golden locks.

Pandra: "Good evening Mr. Hood. Please have a seat."

Hood: "What are you doing behind me desk lass?"

Pandra offers up a document with a smile, but keeps her seat. Hood takes the document & tries to stare her down.

Pandra: "You hold in your hands an executive directive promoting Pandra Nicole to the office of President of the POW."

His eyes snap to the document; he reviews it, crumbles it in on hand & drops it.

Pandra: "Mr. Hood, do not litter in my office."

He spits on the floor & grinds it in with his boot. Pandra offers up another document; he doesn't take it so she crumbles it up & tosses it to his feet.

Pandra: "That document gives me the power & authority to make executive decisions regarding talent changes & creative direction. Most importantly Mr. Hood, that document gives me the ability to release you from your contract."

He leans forward, puts both hands on the desk & leans right in nose to nose.

Hood: "Let me tell you something lass; don't cross me. You know what will happen to you if you do."

Pandra: "I've decided to make some changes; we are going to unify the weight divisions & trim the roster down to around 32 fighters."

Hood: "Are you mad woman?!?"

He slams both fists down on the desk; she calmly wipes some spittle from her face and continues.

Pandra: "The five champions at the time of the IMMOLATION SUPERFIGHT will run the GAUNTLET. The winner of that fight will have truly earned the title of champion."

He turns suddenly & heads for the door.

Pandra: "You will want to pick up your trash before you go."

He continues on, leaving the trash behind.

Pandra: "By the way, you will be fighting on the next card."

He hesitates for a moment & then continues on into the hallway. Pandra lets out a long, slow breath & then begins to tremble.

Hood can really be dangerous, seeing as how he killed the last promoter to cross him. I can't wait to see where this leads.
