The Night. It hides the figure of this war torn place. It’s black veil hanging over it’s beaten facade as a prostitute’s veil hides her face from strangers. The air. It’s frigid touch pierces through the flesh right to the very soul. Bringing with it cold and sickness. It reminds me of the death that has taken root in this place. Of the rot that lurks within the twisted cement and brick that now hang over me, it’s as though skeleton has become skyline.

My movements remain deliberate as I approach the meeting place. I don’t trust the night. It’s secrets are far too deep to know it’s true nature. I finally come across the agreed upon site for this midnight meeting. I arrive cautiously, the once beautiful courtyard now in ruins, casting shadows that draw my mind elsewhere. I peer around, but I am alone. “For now” I think as I inspect the body of the remains that lay before me. Every mortar and brick, every piece of stone tells the story of death and loss that took place here. It sickens me- saddens me to the very core. I quickly decide that I hate this place and it’s memories. They are far too painful to dwell on.

I wait in the courtyard in the silence…but now the silence is deceiving. I’m no longer alone, but just as soon as my thoughts come to that very conclusion, the clicking sound of a firearm being cocked hits my ears. It’s intricacies too many to count. The touch of cold steel against my head soon follows….

: This better be worth the trip.

His voice is low, it cuts through the night air like daggers meant for my throat. I feel a brief shiver run down my spine, and then I answer.

Shepard : I would not of put us in danger otherwise.

He lowers his weapon from my head; a brief, barely inaudible sigh escapes my mouth.

: Go on then. Tell me about this deal....

Excellent dialogue...I'm surprised to see such depth in that promo from you. Very cool to see, it was riveting...wonder who Shepard's talking to...the plot thickens.
